great job kev... tool my loco for its first run now its complete and the automatic cylinder drain cock was plugged... as you can imagine didnt get very far once the condensation built up in the cylinders. oh the joys never end. ;)
cheers Brendan never had a bit of trouble with my auto drain cocks, perhaps more luck than judgement. There's always little niggles to contend with, part of the fun😉😂😂, my pet hate is when loco left for a while the axle pump ball sticks every time and it's a bit of a bugger to take off the way i designed it to fit, but a sharp tap with a long heavy screwdriver or similar, frees it. all the best with running your loco, see you next time, hope you get some video's of it running for us to enjoy with you. Kev👍👍
Great Julia, not so peaceful when you have all the trials and tribulations of keeping a steam loco running. That's talking from a novices perspective 👍👍👍😊 not complaining
Hi KEV Very interesting. Preparing the loco before a ride must be very enjoyable I suppose.... I regret that this type of club is not very common where I live. I would certainly be a member. Scratch is working very well... Have a nice sunday. Bfn Olivier
Thanks 👍 Dave, 🤣👍 Had to ask someone what that big yellow ball was in the sky, after i had got my eyes accustomised to it!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍🚂🚂🚂🚂 nice to hear from you. regards Kev
Thanks very Much H6109 appreciate the feedback🚂🚂👍👍👍👍 Now contact made i have sub'd and bell'd you and will take a look at what you get up to. regards Kev
Kev, never having owned or driven a steam loco, model or full size, what is the crackling noise coming from your loco, stationary and moving? Sounds a little like cavitation? Is it normal, is it just water boiling? It's not your running gear. I'm ok with petrol and diesel engines, vehicles etc, but not steam 👍
eyup Keith i think the camera zoom mic is zooming in on watery oil from the cylinders thats being spit out and exhausting up the chimney and on to the very hot surfaces and also steam from the safety valves condensing back to water and dropping on to the hot firebox surfaces, it sounds more pronounced on the video due to the mic zooming in on it. Nothing to do with the running gear. Hope that explanation helps thanks for watching and interest😉🚂🚂👍👍👍 cheers Kev
@@MrFactotum yes I didn't think it was the running gear, because it made the same noise when your loco was stationary, but I think your explanation seems plausible to me. i've been watching some of your earlier videos, very good.
Hi Kev. I swear I could smell the heady aroma of coal, steam and hot oil! Glorious. 👏👏👍😀
