  • Today we are smoking some pork steaks on the charcoal grill! This is a fantastic recipe! To start off we season each steak with a home made BBQ rub. Then we smoke these beautiful pork steaks for an hour. Next we give them a nice hot sear to lock in the juices, and finish them by slathering them in some barbecue sauce until they are nice and sticky!
    Each step in this cook adds some amazing flavor to these pork steaks. The savory dry rub, the smokey flavor and the sweet and tangy taste of the barbecue sauce make for a winning combination!
    Give this recipe a try! You are going to love it!
    BBQ Rub Recipe:
    1/4 cup dark brown sugar
    3 tablespoons paprika
    1 tablespoon dry mustard
    1 tablespoon sea salt
    1 1/2 teaspoons granulated garlic powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
    1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
    Combine ingredients in a bowl; Mix well.

    Why cook yo 180 you must want a dry piece of meat as well as little tough I would suggest bring internal temp to 145 then sear bbq n bring internal temp to 155 juicy flavorful

      I didn’t find it dry at all. Plenty of moisture was present. I’m sure you could finish it at a lower temp. I’ll let you decide how you do it. Thank for watching!

    Those look SO VERY yummy. I love a good grilled pork steak. I do mine the same way when BBQ'd: rub, grill, then sauce before taking them off the grill.

    Do you start your grilling with the meat at room temp, or refrigerator temp?

    • @BaumGrillinzBBQ
      @BaumGrillinzBBQ  5 років тому

      Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t it just depends on how fast I can get things going. Typically it’s around room temperature though before I cook! Thanks for watching!

    180 F won't that be shoe leather?

    • @BaumGrillinzBBQ
      @BaumGrillinzBBQ  4 роки тому

      No, 180 is a good temp for pork steaks! These aren’t pork chops which are all muscle. Pork steaks have a lot of collagen and fat. So in order to get that stuff to melt away and have a tender bite, you have to take them up to 180 to breakdown the fat! They remind me of pork ribs in a way. Same methods. Enjoy!
