- vlog 5 As I upload this Kerry is on a yellow warning so really hoping Sid survives the night in the tent. We have said he must knock on the caravan door if it gets too wild. There is room for us all to snuggle up and keep cosy. If I’m learning one thing about Ireland it’s that it does rain a lot. But then it wouldn’t be the Emerald Isle we’re that not the case… When it rains for three days solid the temperature drops, clothes and towels remain damp and it challenges endurance. The good news is, the electrician is coming tomorrow and we may get power. The bad news is our car has broken down and had to be towed away. NOT what you want when you live in a rural location. More about all this in the next episode…
Hi again, catching up on your videos, but please be away of the loudness of your music and drowning out your conversation, please accept this as constructive crytasym. I am with you all the way and amazed at your determination.
Hello (from Malawi) I'm really enjoying watching your journey so far. The statue is 'the Little Flower'-St Therese of Lisieux. Good work!!
Oh my, I’ve heard of Theresa of Lisieux. Now I’m going to find out more about her. The religious artefacts are definitely staying. We will also think of a way of incorporating the perpetual light perhaps in the porch upon entrance. So glad to know you are watching from Malawi. Welcome friend. 🙏😊🙌❤️
Hello, thank you. Heather King wrote 'Shirt of Flame: A Year with St. Therese of Lisieux '. I'm not a Catholic, but like the fabulous Sr.Michael - "I do like a good statue". I'm a follower of Anandamayi Ma, she's worth a Google too! I'm really intrigued by Maggie's house, what a beautiful thing to do. The 'guiding light' in the porch sounds good. I've just binge-watched all of your videos....we need some more!! Every good wish with your journey.
Liking your story but the rapid camera moves are dizzying. Try slower panning for better quality. I know its a learning curve when starting out but happy to follow your story from New Mexico USA.
Oh my goodness! Let’s trust that this is the worst thing and, it’s now out and behind.
I’m exhausted just watching you. Well done you guys! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wait till you hear what happened next Helen - this was small fry in comparison! 🤣🙌❤️
Thanks btw for suggesting we Vlog. Wouldn’t have thought to do it otherwise and it’s great fun!

Wow….you guys are really really working hard!!! Keep up the great job it’s beautiful! I was smiling through the whole video even during the flood…I would agree the color of the water is only sediment and it’s good to flush all these surprises out and all the love you’re giving to your home sweet home is really going to create a beautiful energy of love anytime anyone will enter…sooo beautiful
I wish I had workers who worked like you guys are how much you all charge hahaha
Vibrating much love and light for everyone there thank you for sharing with us all especially the rummaging through all the old stuff left behind that was very interesting I loved it! Thanks Jill 🌝🌎🌚🗝🪄🏡🧚♂️
Haha, yes it’s a labour of love Rick. The floor is only a thin concrete skin and will be coming up so we’re not too worried about the discolouration. There will be a new foundation and an underfloor heating system installed as we aim for a low energy home. Thanks for your positive vibes my friend! 😊🙏❤️
That’s above and beyond wayyyy too much work, but I know it’s going to be amazing when ur all done… Huge kudos for taking on a huge endeavor!! 👍👍👏👏
It’s certainly a labour of love but yes, it will be worth it. 😊🙌❤️
It’s great you are all so able bodied and hardworking! You’re getting so much done! If it isn’t too late, consider putting all of the finds from the house away in a box and revisit them when you’re more situated. Not the perishables like toothpaste but the statues and art-you may find perfect nooks and crannies to tuck them, to honor the house’s history.
That’s exactly what we’ve done. We have a fascinating collection and will certainly make space to display them in our new home. Also we need a sacred heart light in the porch to honour the spirit of the ancestors. 😊👍❤️
The statue is of Saint Theresa.
I agree, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux also known in English as the Little Flower of Jesus. I find it amazing how she entered the Carmelite monastery at the age of fifteen. She went and asked the Pope for permission when just fourteen.
Slight correction, it's St.therese of the Child Jesus (not the Flower of Jesus). Her nickname is The Little Flower. ❤
The Bourgeois Saint! She's my fave saint.
It looks as if you guys have a lovely spot. You might want to consider keeping some of the old systems and materials as they can be very practical and beautifully made compared with new products designed around plastic and short life span.
Thanks Denise, we plan to use natural materials with a modern fresh feel, lots of light, the living area more of a scandi vibe sympathetic to the forest setting.
Oh no that’s yuk. Your so calm about it. So looking forward to following your progress. Goodluck.☘️💐
I know. I think he was in shock. I was worried we’d have a flood we couldn’t stop… but of course I was forgetting we’re not on mains so once the tank was empty the flow would stop. 🤣
You all are so Brave 😅….OMG What a mess ……I will be praying 🙏 for Your family and your new homestead ….Blessings from the Mountains ⛰️ of New Hampshire in America 🇺🇸….My family heritage goes back to Ireland 🇮🇪 to Galway.!Somehow your channel was recommended so I figured I watch your journey sounds quite interesting .Wish You the Best
I would have loved that Lords Supper picture....

Hi all the best to both of you.
Thanks James 😊🙌☘️
If only there were an invention for catching/holding water?? Something with a base, sides and a handle, to transport liquid from one place to another 🤔
Hmm… a bucket? 🤣 An IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) is what we need. They hold 1000 litres.
Yikes! Messy for you and entertaining for us. 😁 Hee Hee!
I hope you’re still here because it looks like we’re getting a bit of our summer back! You’re all great sports!
We’ve had our share of challenges over the last few days Janet and the weather is the least of our worries. All will be revealed in the next video. (Be patient… it takes a while to upload with no WiFi). 😊🙌🌲
@@TheHiddenHouseIreland Uh oh, I'm a bit worried to find out! 😬😳
@@janetclaireSays All is well, lol. We are OK don’t worry… and the drama/anxiety makes for good video content. There’s a time lag between getting the videos up and real life events so as I’m responding to comments loads more has happened, but we’ll catch up! 🙌❤️
Hello all that brown water is rust from Rads and cylinder that would have been a simple class heating system a range like a stanley it will heat your water and heaters and you have a over to bake and your hot plates for boiling water and have a iron frame where the heat goes up to dry clothing warm socks
Have a think of jobs to keep for the digger man like dig holes for line for drying clothes put stone around your shed i would put the caravan where you can see whats going on and build a porch for your carvan make a car park for work me put in some sort of rain water harvesting to be stored in cubes 1000 liters very handy a designated area that has the tap for work men with pipe and stone soak away i would start harvesting firewood keep it in a sunny airy spot to cure family doing a class job
Some great tips - thanks so much 😊🙌🙏
Please take care not to swing the camera too quickly when scanning. I am really interested but find it difficult to watch.
Yes, we’re learning. Bear with… 👍
Hello from Oregon I am #600 !
Don’t let this get you down. If you need a shower, get a plastic watering can, fill with warm water, hold it over each other, soap all over then rinse all over and hey presto.
That’s a great tip. Luckily we managed with body washes and were offered the use of bathroom facilities by Willy and Mary so we had two hot showers while we were there. 😊
Just found you and hopefully your be uploading more videos as you go along….
That's the plan!
Is that Iron in the water??!!
It is yes, but from the old back boiler in the stove, not from the earth.
