You guys were my introduction to boat life when I stumbled upon a random Instagram post telling the world you’d started this channel, and I fell down a rabbit hole and never escaped. This coming Wednesday we’re arriving in Napton to collect a hire boat for a week on the South Oxford canal. Can’t wait for my first taste of the canals, and in some small way it’s all your fault 😂 (and I thank you for it!)
Oh WOW that's so lovely to hear!!!! Thanks for staying with us ever since, and we hope you LOVE your cruising holiday. We'll keep everything crossed the weather stays pleasant for you. The south oxford is a beautiful canal, let us know how you find it will you?! xx
As a granny, I’m wondering if you have a fire guard, now that Joe is crawling and standing. I have a little one the same age and he’s fast! I have a wood stove too, but have a heavy 3 sided guard. I’m learning every time he comes around new things to baby proof. 🫤 The box is brilliant! I only have a cardboard box. Maybe cut up pool noodles for the edges ? Sending love from Australia where winter started in April and is still going now half way through September. 🤗🤗🤗
Hi, just a FYI, your wormary needs to be in a warm place over winter, and if you can you need to have some insulation around the bee hive, and a nice big brick on the lid, stay safe and warm. ❤
Awww my word Joe has come along so fast standing and scrawling now your hands will be full lovely vloghas always sending love to all from your oldies 🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍
Missed seeing you guys. Glad you had some time for you & other things like a holiday to the seaside which we call the beach. Your vege patch is looking great. Joe is gorgeous. I just love his smile. You are into Autumn here & we are officially into spring. Everything is starting to spring to life which is one of my favourite times of the year. Look forward to your next video. Take care.
You've done so well with the allotment especially considering it's your first year! And having little one and boat projects on top of it. Well done both of you!
Nice insight into the realities of narrow boat living this week! How did your allotment fare after the 2 degrees overnight? Lost a lot of pumpkin foliage here. What a growing year, hey! Loving Tilly's jumpers - and laughed so much when she was wandering off into the other plot - my schnoz is terrible for that! Fire looked lovely and cosy.
I love watching what you both get up to , it’s been quite a tough year for me but watching your journey is giving so much positivity and joy x thank you
I always get excited when I see your vlog come up 🙏... I know I'm in for a lovely relaxing treat 😁💖. How much more adorable can Joe get and Tilly in her wooly outfits... super cute. You guys are awesome too 😜😁💖😘
Watching you're little family gardening together in the September sunshine is just about the most wholesome and heartwarming thing I've seen in a good long while. I hope you know that when you get to enjoy days like this, you've made it in life. Also enjoyed Gaby's bugs bunny moment, that carrot sounds delicious 😂
Very relieved to see Tilly in her jumper already. Our shznauzer has been shivering this week too. Must be a breed thing. Will get ours layered up same as Tilly.
What an endearing video! Thank you - it encapsulated all the sweet autumn vibe & a rainy storm a-coming & how baby Joe is so lovely & how you two are so charming! 😊👍🏻
Such a relaxing video, what a lovely couple you both are, Joe is such a lucky little boy to have you for his mum and dad. Thankyou for such peaceful, wholesome content. (Loved Jack replying on Tilly’s behalf 😂😂 )Enjoy your week.
You looked so tired in the last shot by the fire. I find it funny, and sweet, as it reminds me of life when ours were tiny. Teenagers now, new level, new devil, haha, smashing it guys. see ou next time
Your windows look good, and the dried flowers. Lots of lovely things you've grown the beetroot would be good with goats cheese or feta. Hope you make something lovely.😊x
Autumn is a lovely time of year, everything slowing down ready to sleep for winter. Lots of things you can do during autumn to prepare for winter, get the boat sorted with curtains etc ready to keep you warm over winter, plenty to do on the allotment, all's well with your tiny world.
@@thistinylife Ah but you have a bright & light home to live in because of all the windows. Curtains need to be a priority as so much heat is lost through windows though, get some nice material & Gabby run up a production line of simple curtains while Jack puts up rails & you won't regret it when you save money on heating the boat & it'll be so much more cosy on cold days. The bitterly cold air that drops into the boat from an uncovered window is not nice to experience. Good luck with everything, I know you have your work cut out with so many things to do. 💐
I just got back from a tour of Ireland- the whole coast! Never seen SO many farms! High cliffs, crashing waves, warm sunshine, heavy downpours, strong winds, beautiful lakes, ancient ruins, dinner in castle, Celtic music, Blarney Stone but didn’t kiss it, interesting poison plant garden, pony/trap ride in the park in the rain! Stayed one night in a very plush hotel in Belfast. Got soaked through in a rain storm. Home with a filthy cold/flu but sunshine 18 deg today! Great to see you’re enduring through all weather’s & conditions! Bumper crop of veggies & still growing!!! I’d keep Jo in the snuggly until at least age 10!!!😂 Take good care you three & Tilly from Aunty Chris xxx
Always go to see you guys. It feels like I am actually with you, not just observing. Such a wonderful feeling. Autumn is by far my favourite time, such gorgeous colours, the smells of baking & making jams, and the feeling of winding down to get ready for the winter ahead. Can't wait to be with you again soon.
Hiya to you all. Myself and my wife karen came across your channel two weeks ago. And we have watched all of your videos. Wow you are fantastic love the boat you said on one video is your life boring def not and if you enjoy what you do that's all that matters. Hope you upload each week but know life can get in the way. My channel been going just a month if I can be just a smig as good as you all the very best to all 4 of you. The little one joe will be a boater love the allotment as well. All the best guys
I enjoy your videos so much. Prepping today for winter, bringing firewood into the garage, but right now running the air-conditioning as it was 26 feeling like 33 🤪 Bonkers weather as we've already had a frost!! Best wishes from Carp, Ontario 😊
Hi guys, I don’t think you ever updated us on the leak from the water tank inlet, did you manage to solve it easily and is your bilge clear of water now?
Oh lovely, Joe is taking after mummy with his red hair. Another redhead here, although it’s a lot lighter now I am older( baby boomer😉) we have two daughters, and did either one have my red hair? Nope 🤦♀️they look like their dad and nothing like me 🫢. Our greenhouse tomatoes are a disappointment this year due to a poor summer, just a few green ones, so I made chutney last week with them, just a couple of jars, loads of raspberries from the garden , potatoes from planted in bags, a few peas, we are the west of Scotland 🏴 and the summer has been 👎
@@thistinylife well you have to live in there but I love it!! It looks so fresh and cosy at the same time, Scandinavian style! I used to live in a boat & one day hope to again, I saw that wood and thought I NEED that!! 😅🤩
Hi jack probably to late but you never paint doors laying flat as you saw they are to easy for dust to settle on also did you throw away your fire ash it is good for making a potash for a fertilizer
Why paint the walls? Thet look lovely as they are. No need to use precious time painting when it isn't actually required. That's always something that can wait, I would have thought. I don't envy you going through the crawling/walking stage living on the boat. You will need your eyes everywhere! Have fun!😊😅
Lovely to see the fire lit. Your allotment is looking great. You've done wonders there. BTW, just a thought - when you're pushed for time due to weather and other considerations, instead of showing us and explaining to us what you're going to be doing, set the camera and just get on with it. You could do a voice-over afterwards. It may only save a few minutes but sometimes those few minutes are extremely important!
You do love to exaggerate. So middle class. There is a season in between, it's called Autumn. It is not winter yet. It's just normal seasonal temperatures without climate change stupid temperatures.
Your windows look good, and the dried flowers. Lots of lovely things you've grown the beetroot would be good with goats cheese or feta. Hope you make something lovely.😊x

Wonderful cozy vlog, real everyday life! 🤩
Thank you!! 😊 The knitwear is out!!!

OMG RAIN and painting outside. Looked like a heavy downpour!!
Not the perfect mix 😅
Great to see another video from you guys, boat is looking fabulous, we actually had a frost the other morning which is mad!
Thank you!! Ah it's mad isn't it. Although feeling a lot warmer tonight (where we are anyway!!)
Enjoyed seeing how little one has grown and how everything is coming along. Thank you.

I noticed you haven’t got curtains? They would keep your boat a lot warmer 💜 love your program
Just lush 💞
I feel your pain. We painted our narrowboat roof and it rained on that. Luckily not too much damage was done. What a terrible summer we’ve had.

If you pick the tomatoes green , wrap them in newspaper store them in a box , they will ripen red .
What a little beauty Joe is!
Delightful!
: ) good to see y'all back!
I got given the exact same wormery at the weekend, I am just busy researching how to set it up as it has been a long time since I had a wormery :)
It’s still very warm here in upstate NY. Shorts and Tshirts as of mid September.
Worms make castings. You can add paper & cardboard. After adding worms it has to be kept moist (ughhh not moist). lol
Hey! Who was the carpenter who did your window frames
