It took me 2 hours to replace one of the spark plugs on my 305. I had no lift so only from the top. I almost lost my mind. Having a toddler around was only making it worse.

Thanks for giving me the confidence to go ahead and do it. A few of them are a little tricky and out of sight, but I was able to feel and use both hands to get it. Not an easy job, but doable from below. Don't try from above and use good jack stands! Don't risk your life. I use 4 stands. 2 are backups.

If it tends to idle up and down (surge) and leap forward at a stop it may be a bad EGR valve. You may want to take a look at it to see if it's working correctly.

@Kingsevends I would recommend just using a decent OE type replacement plug. AC Delco ones should be fine.

i always had just as much luck going through the rubber fender skirting on the side of the engine compartment for those that can't afford a lift.

@MuhfugginDanMC HI, you would just need to jack it up hi enough to be able to crawl under the car and reach it.

I figured I would have to go under the car to change them. I did the two front ones on the driver side from the top.

ft they're hard to get at, an old hot rodder trick is to put a piece of rubber gas line on the tip of the spark plug. That should enable you to be able to get the spark plug started by hand. You can use the flexible rubber hose to get it started. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
