I'm a bit confused why you waited for that cyclist and car at the 2 minute mark when there was so much time to pull out. If you could explain why, that would be great.
When I initially stopped I noticed that the camera pointing left was a bit wonky, so I adjusted it - you can see the view alter a little. Then after that the cyclist was too close to pull out in front of. That junction has an uphill slope, and the cyclist was going quite quickly so it wasn’t worth rushing for. HTH
There's a road similar to the one in this vid, but it's quite busy with the traffic coming from the left and I need to turn right. Thing is the left is usually In traffic and the vehicles on the right near constantly approaching. Would the best method for me who is turning right, wait until there is a clear gap on the right and then drive out and wait for the traffic to the left to give me way? Or do I wait until there are gaps on both sides of the road? Cheers.
For a driving test we would always wait for both sides of the road to be clear, as if we block any traffic that has priority over us (which is quite likely with this technique) we could be given a serious fault. In ‘real-life’ you could try the method you mention, or turn left and turn around somewhere else to resume your journey.
We must wait until there is a safe gap before entering the main road - as we can’t do anything that would cause another driver to take action to avoid us, such as braking or swerving. Basically we must be patient!
It’s hard to tell from that camera angle, but it didn’t look too bad. Larger vehicles often need to cut corners so get used to giving them a little extra space. 👍🏼
If we can’t see very far, we must drive slowly so that we are always able to stop smoothly. Usually any harsh braking indicates that we have done a poor job planning ahead.
hello when we are on major road and turing right. we stop because of upcoming traffic as we are cutting their road. those people are waiting on right on minor road sometime they start pulling before we trun into minor road.do we have priority on major road or those are on minor road.thanks you
Everyone on the major road has priority over everyone on the minor road. Those people are taking a chance, if they think they can get out without getting in anyones way - or maybe they just don't care! We would rather take our time and make sure we are safe...
The advice we offer to our students is to imagine you are a pedestrian trying to cross the road. A gap that would be enough to walk across without rushing should be big enough to take with a car.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool I had failed for this reason in the driving test. I didn't see a relevant safe gap ...as in this video u had waited quite a good amount of time before turning right .
No - we can only go when it's safe. If we force someone else to brake or swerve to avoid us, then it will be a serious fault and fault the test. Sometimes we might need to be patient.
What about when cars edge out? Turning right at the junction. No cars coming from the right, And they edge into the lane, then when a car comes from the right it is either forced to stop until the car is able to pull out complete when no cars are coming from the left. Or go on the other side of the road ???
We should always wait until both lanes are clear before pulling out, but if other people do this and block our path we must stop and be patient. As usual, just do whatever seems safest.
Hi what if you cant see the visibility on your left, while the right is free? I think the method Maria howells suggested could be used? Just to make sure that the left is free?
You guys deserve a million subs this is quality content
+Sanchez Bashir Thanks very much!
I love all of these videos. They have help me a lot . I download most of them to my phone and watch everyday
Quite helpful though in U.S.A the driving side is different but the knowledge/skills from this video is applicable in all ways.thanks
Please can you add a video about entering a major road (right turn) when there is a traffic queue gap from right side.
We'll add it to our list - thanks for the idea.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool excuse me I was asking whether you can block cars on your right when turning right and there is a queue of cars
Great video, well done, nice summary at the end.
hello, do you have any tips on how to handle anxiety of feeling like I'm too cautious pulling out, and making the car behind me wait?
We have a whole playlist for you! Nerves & Anxiety

So far, According to My opinion this is the best driving channel. Thanks for these tremendous helpful videos.
Im a new driver i just got my license, only thing dat makes me nervous is busy cross roads
Ah - we are writing a video about crossroads at the moment!
Advance Driving School ☺☺☺☺☺awesome thanks
Can u make some about cutting corners please as I think it be very useful
What do you mean by ‘cutting corners’? Do you mean literally steering across junctions, or tips to save time/effort?
Thanks for the explanation ❤

What if the right flashes to give you way can I still wait in the gap waiting for the left oncoming cars to give way?
you prob have done a vid on this, but what do you do with your feet on the pedals as u wait at the junction or traffic lights and not stall😅

Can we use the chevron in the middle of the road when turning right to a busy major road?
We would try to avoid doing that, unless it is necessary for some reason.
Thanks
Thanks alot. It helped 🥳❤
I needed this badly. Thank you very much. What if the road is very busy and there is no gap approaching?
