I found your videos very helpful and would like to thank you and your husband for making such an effort to make videos that benefit so many people...I passed my test on Dec 13th 2023 and your videos were really really helpful :)
I've had like 80 hours or so (possibly more) now some with different instructors but regardless I've had 60 hours with the one instructor I'm with now. It's been a long journey since April 2022 but I have had some breaks between lessons as well (at times like one month), some bad experiences with previous instructors as well which knocked my confidence. Last lesson which was a month ago, I did my first mock test and it wasn't too bad - failed with 2 majors and a few minors. Had my first lesson today after a month and it was ok but it's still not quite consistent enough and up to test standard. My actual test is coming in 4 weeks time and my instructor is a little concerned and feels I may not be ready in time. This has knocked my confidence even further. I have waited a long time and felt I would definitely be ready by now. I'm just hoping I can be ready in these next few weeks. I had one one off lesson with an instructor after about 20 hours and he said I wasn't far from my test and that was back in June 2022! So I don't know if my current instructor is mugging me off a bit. He does take me on some difficult routes as well, like the one I had today. I'm an older male, almost 40 and with some breaks in between I don't know if that's affected my skills at all. Age wise it may be understandable but as a man, it's unacceptable to take this long.
All we can say is that everyone learns at their own speed. We have had several pupils take over 100 hours of lessons to reach ‘test standard’ but that’s OK if you get that test pass at the end! Good luck 🤞🏼
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Thanks for the comments. I'm pleased to say I passed my test on my first attempt today, Feb 14th with three minors. Hi Serena, I had a pupil who practiced here in the UK and went to live in Florida, and he passed first time! And I've taught drivers from the US to take their test here. Wishlist from your channel: I suggest you make one video teaching how to deal with emergency vehicles (e.g. police patrols, ambulances, fire engines) with their flashing sirens and alarms on, in a driving exam with failing the exam. I read there are so many examinees failed their test just because these vehicles with sirens rushing towards or from behind. One even failed just because giving way to an ambulance plus a police vehicle but went out of the roundabout giveway line, so his examiner failed him. That could make so many learners feel either nervous or anxious since they won't face too many times in their real practices and very hard to build up such experiences. You can't make it happen by your own, you just can wait by luck or bad luck. So better teach them a little detailed, and make the rules and laws clear and avoiding from failing test by sirens.
This gives me lot of information and confidence. But I want to know more details about the meeting point. How to deal with the oncoming vehicles. Could you please explain that. Thanks
Advance Driving School. I've noticed that you use your indicators even when reversing. However, in many "driving instructor" videos, they don't use indicators when reversing into a parking bay. When I question them on this, they say it's unnecessary. It seems that different driving instructors have their own views on certain aspects of driving.
Every driving instructor has their own interpretation on The Highway Code - as its advice is a little vague in places. It says that we should indicate when other people would benefit - and we think signalling to show where we intend to park would help people. 👍🏼
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool So, signalling when revering into a parking bay is only "advisory" then; and most driving instructors see it that way. You are the only driving instructor I've seen using your indicators when reversing (it does look a bit odd).
Hi, can you do a video where you are driving in first person POV in the Ford. It's the car I want and a first person pov would help me get used to it as I'm just starting lessons. Strange request I know but you don't know unless you ask.
We have done that for a few videos, such as: Steering around tight corners: ua-cam.com/video/TcDf24iCFb4/v-deo.html Driving on a dual-carriageway: ua-cam.com/video/nOSHIITUBKs/v-deo.html 👍🏼
I have a question - it's a bit of a weird one... What is the correct course of action if somebody jumps out in the road at you trying to stop your car, in a threatening manner? This happened to me last night, at 2.30 am- I didn't know whether to just stop and keep honking the horn but there was nobody within about 20 meters of us and it looked like he might have a weapon, a long thing like maybe a long knife or an iron bar he was trying to hide under a cloth? I made the split second decision to just reverse until I could turn off ( I glanced in the mirror and there was nothing coming) but it was a dual carridgeway and I don't know whether what I did was acceptable in the circumstances - I would like to be prepared if it ever happens again I was scared witless tbh, just didn't expect anything like that and now I'm stressing in case I got caught on camera and they think I overreacted and I lose my license
Most people with us do 1 2-hour lesson each week, as it is easy to fit in with their schedule and also makes the cost affordable. However if you have enough spare time and money do as much as you can!
So, when I change up a gear I should lift the clutch to the biting point and than I give gas while the clutch is on the biting point and than I continue to lift the clutch and that is same mouvement for all the gears up to fifth gear( my car has five gears)?

Awesome video
Hiya, will you be doing them in April when it’s warmer. ?
Yes, once the weather improves we intend to go back to our previous schedule of one long video and 3 shorts every month. 👍🏼
I made the split second decision to just reverse until I could turn off ( I glanced in the mirror and there was nothing coming) but it was a dual carridgeway and I don't know whether what I did was acceptable in the circumstances - I would like to be prepared if it ever happens again
I was scared witless tbh, just didn't expect anything like that and now I'm stressing in case I got caught on camera and they think I overreacted and I lose my license
I reversed maybe 6 meters up the road
How many hours driving is beneficial per week please?
Most people with us do 1 2-hour lesson each week, as it is easy to fit in with their schedule and also makes the cost affordable. However if you have enough spare time and money do as much as you can!
So, when I change up a gear I should lift the clutch to the biting point and than I give gas while the clutch is on the biting point and than I continue to lift the clutch and that is same mouvement for all the gears up to fifth gear( my car has five gears)?
