    I decluttered an entire bin of Christmas decor this year and as i watched you today, my mind went around the rooms thinking aboutwhat else can go. Its really contagious.

    I had to laugh over the measuring counter space to accommodate an Air Fryer. I've done so well in decluttering that I can fit my AF under the counter in a cupboard and a toaster over!!! So proud of all the decluttering and the counters are clear of appliances ❤

    I asked my kids for consumables rather than stuff for Christmas, like chocolates, nuts, cheese, bath stuff, etc. My daughter's gift is a gift card for car washes.

    My love language is gift giving, but this year I made everyone declutter their rooms.

    As soon as I receive a gift I start deciding 1.if I'm going to keep it 2.what it will replace 3.where I'm going to put it. I almost always give away stuff I get at Christmas. However, no matter what I decide, I always thank the giver with sincerity. I'm grateful for their kindness. The gift is in the giving❤ btw my (adult) children know they are free of the tyranny of prescribed gift giving - which is awesome for everyone because they don't feel the pressure and thus end up only ever giving truly useful & significant presents made all the more meaningful by the rarity. We already know we love each other, we don't feel the need to prove it with stuff.

    Your channel is my favourite minimalism/decluttirng channel. It's just something about your approach that makes me not feel guilty about my mess that got out of the way/ I'm on board of being a candidate for one of those hoarders reality shows, but you inspire me and I don't feel guilt and shame while watching your videos. And making small progress :). Plus, I suffer from depression which makes it so much more difficult although I do realize that clean areas make my depression less difficult. But it''s so hard to make them clean.

    Robyn alluded to this at the end but the best decluttering happens when you get real with yourself.

    I loved the natural dialogue that took place. I am going to set a goal for decluttering beginning Dec.26!

    Working on multiple rooms today. I’ve decluttered two kitchen drawers and two cabinets. I did a short declutter of my closet and a couple of clothes drawers. Things that I “thought I would wear” in June when I did a big declutter and now it’s 6 months later and they were not worn…in the donation box as we speak. Kitchen supplies unused in the donation box. 📦 have half a large garbage bag of things that are too used to donate so they will go to the garbage this afternoon. Listening to you ladies while working today!! I also am working on the laundry room as I am doing laundry today as well. Excess towels will be heading to the local humane society for their use. I don’t have a lot of stuff since the earlier declutter this year and I’m so happy about that!! Now, back to work…this was a short water break!

    This was really fun to watch you interact with your friend Lindsay, I really liked how you just approached decluttering and how to plan for things coming into our homes. As it really happens all the time not just during the holidays. 🤩

    Whenever new appliances became trendy, my mom would always say, "but where would you put it?" or "something else to store!" I'm the clutterer in my family-of-origin, but those questions always occur to me when new gadgets and appliances come out. My mom's home was always tidy, but she had so. much. stuff.
    I have come to the conclusion that all the clutter and getting rid of it are all about mindset. Putting things away right away is a mindset; leaving things where they land is a mindset; deciding whether to keep or let go of things is about mindset; the idea of keeping everything we buy, even when we don't use it anymore is about mindset; the idea of getting something to use for a "season" and then passing it on is a mindset. Buying or giving something so you or the recipient "has" it is a mindset.

    Am seeing the benefit of less stuff in terms of cleaning and stress levels. My home office should be the ultimate place of calm but also find that is where things end up. X

    I love this! Ive been going through cabinets and closits that stress me out when I open them. I took a load to goodwill and several bags of trash. I just went through a litle drawer that had a ton of pens and markers and go a gallon size bag of pens and markers that I dont actually love using.

    'Air Fryers' are basically mini convection ovens - so yay! I already have one built into my conventional oven... I'm betting lots of other people do too🙂

    • @boog.2751
      @boog.2751 5 місяців тому

      You're right, and I do have that built into my oven and many people probably don't need an air fryer, but we don't have central air in our home and will probably never be able to afford to, so I really appreciate having the air fryer on super hot days. LOL. 😉😁

    I have some very fancy wonder pans I have not been able to mental capacity to handle.... Or to find space for. I really love it. But it is not the right season for me. But I absolutely love it. But it is true that everything takes space. We have a smaller kitchen. But I definitely need to figure out a space for it. But being in survival mode it is too hard of a thing and I have plenty of easy I need to plug away at.

    I always ask for gift lists! Nothing wrong with that! I like to ask for categories of things rather than specific things. I want to get gifts that people would like, and I want people to get me things that I would like.
