Someone should make a version of Pi plays pokémon, in which the game has checkpoints. Like reaching the next destination getting key items and catching pokémon. If they just kept the correct moves made by the sequence it would finish the game way faster.

Moving 0 and 5 to up and down respectively would speed up progress a bit at the cost of start menu access (Which honestly it shouldn't have anyway) at the cost of opportunities for viral "praise Helix" moments.

Not so, inputs may be wasted during animations or random encounters that depend on the seed. So you could restart the game and have a wildly different outcome unless you fix the seed
