Luther "Snake" Johnson is a blues legend in my book.
Musical magic goes straight to the pain in my heart then slowly caresses my blues away.
This is the REAL lowdown stuff, no bullshit, all heavy cats on this recording. Thank you for posting this.

Thanks so much for sharing this document ! I wish i would have seen this tour...The 3 records this band recorded that year in France are my Blues foundation and will remain for ever in my heart. I feel very fortunate to hear this concert 40 years later. Where was it, in Paris, Bagneux ? No need to say that if you have some more, I would love to listen to...
+Greeny Man I don't know where this recording have been done. In the South West of France, I think (Cahors, Bordeaux ?) I saw them in Northern France, and my late elder brother beeing the concert organizer, I had the chance to go to the restaurant with them all after the show... You can be jealous...I think Lonnie Brooks and myself must be the 2 still alive from all the people beeing around the table that night....
This cat had two albums. They both slay
Get-tar talking’ back!
Clermont-Ferrand ?
This tour played in Clermont. I was there. I still have the poster of the tour, which was pinned on my student's room this year... The cool thing i remember is that Fred Below played with a french béret on his head...
Another thing I remember is that the few people who were organizing jazz-blues concerts here at that time were real passionates. And so they used to record these shows for themselves on a personal band-tape recorder staight into the mixing table ( asked them for a copy onetime, but they refused...)
So may be, may be not...
That makes me think you might remember what year it was. Do you? Thanks either way.
1975, I confirm , it's on my poster.
And the band is right too.
❤
