These are not all Robert Johnson's songs. To name a few - Devil got my Woman, Skip James, Canned Heat Blues, Tommy Johnson, Death Letter Blues, Son House, and a bunch more. I'm certainly not knocking the recordings here, just trying to get the facts straight.

Yes sir you are correct, in the video before each song I name the original artist including Ry Cooder, Son House, Skip James, Tommy Johnson, songs from the 1986 movie crossroads and our originals. Mostly Robert's songs but all of these others are related to Robert's story and thats why I included them. I did give all credit to the original artist though. Thanks for listening

Beautifully done friend. Thankyou very much. I enjoyed that so much. I played the harmonica.. fairly well. And watching crossroads when I was 11 years old was basically speaking my introduction to the blues.

I drove down highway 61 to the crossroads in Mississippi back when it was a 2 lane blacktop. last time I was there they were putting in a 4 lane..what a shame I thought. all those little towns along 61 will be lost to history..don't know if you can still go down the original 61.nothing like the blues..

Has anyone tried to play guitar listening to this for first time... Its essence is so full of spirit and fell off into trance playing the first few songs... Like spirit wanted to play my guitar... Move over man, taking over. That was eerie and awesome at the same time. Sent shivers through me. Wow. Certain songs do this to me. Eg picked up few albums from garage sale and could play every song first time. I have been playing since 10 but I mean this is something else, like the spirit literally taking over. Un f real. Try it. Maybe for you too... Awesome when that happens... I mean thanks guys for this awesome compilation!

Great listen! Back in the 90s, my buds and I would road trip to Indianola, MS to see BB King. It was his homecoming concert. One of our friends grew up there and had knowledge of the "true" crossroads. He took us out to the spot where Robert made the deal with the devil. I swear, it is the same spot as in the opening picture on your video. Of course, all of the Mississippi delta, cottonfield crossroads look like that.

"Me and the devil blues" and "hellhound on my trail" are both perfect interpretations and examples, that you have found the key to make it sound like the version for all those people who can't aprecciate the sound of the classic Robert's records, beatiful records, but from other time and other world... greetings and long live to the blues
