@@johnklockyer It's like Star Trek, every Saturday afternoon at 3pm here in Australia. Must've seen every ep 10 times! Doctor Who, at 6pm, Lost in Space I forget when. Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch. Goofy times in the 70s!
An amazing job from everyone involved bringing this classic back to life! Jonathan Harris was amazing! He was back in character like he never left. I never get tired of watching this!!
I couldn't agree with you more, even with only a few TV channels to choose from during those years, compared to hundreds of channels today, watching tv was a 1000 times better. I don't know why, it just was
@@tleav61 you're so right, back then, families watched tv together, everyone knew the show's, everyone knew the characters, and could even talk about it at school or work the next day, and the biggest part about it, to watch these shows, all of tv actually, cost nothing, free, nada, and we enjoyed them all much more than the crap that people pay a $100+ a month now, to watch tv. You can bet, the show's on tv now, no one on this planet will be reminiscing on what was on tv 50 years from now
carl evans. No doubt. Your right on the mark, Carl. I remember Dad use to like to watch Gunsmoke on Monday nights. We all gathered around to watch it. I don’t remember him liking Land of the Giants, but he liked the other ones. Star-Trek, Voyage to the bottom of the Sea. Not sure about Lost in Space though. Anyway, yeah....memorable shows that are still on T.V today.
When I was little, my parents had a surprise or me; I was in a car with Mr Jonathan Harris aka Dr Smith, and I was speechless. Mr Harris couldn’t have been nicer, and kinder with me, and watching this brings a smile and melancholy to me. I had the Robot (B() and a Jupiter 2 (which I STILL have, in EXCELLENT condition. No, I wouldn’t sell my stuff, too many memories).
This was really cool. Dr Smith was my favorite character. Everything here looks much like the original, especially the robot. Billy still looks pretty young, too.
One of the aspects of the ship that drew my attention and held me in awe aside from the robot was or were the stasis pods which held the entire crew individually in place during their journeys. To a young boy in the 60s seeing it for the first time it was completely mind blowing!
I am amazed at the dedication of the creators of this short revisitation; how they spent all their time, money, and creativity to recreate every detail of the set. Also the writing seemed true to the original characters. Well done!
this is just wonderful to see the old set of the jupiter. as a young boy, it was the most amazing special effects piece of work i ever saw. maybe it still is and this show will always live on through me and my kids..................RIP Jonathon and Bob.
This was my Favorite show. I had everything related to this show from , toys and cloths. I still have all of those toys still to this day. I looked like Billy Mumy when I was young. I love Lost in Space
I was 10 years old when the show started and loved the show through 14. Goes to show it was more popular among children. I still love the show because it reminds me of my childhood when my parents were alive.
Time destroys everyone. Back in the sixties I was the same age will was. I had loving parents and now they are dead. I would walk through hell just to see them one more time.
Thank you for posting this footage!! What a thrill to see my favorite characters from "Lost in Space" again. It was interesting seeing how Bill Mumy remembers his perspective of the ship when he was a kid. My Facebook profile is me posing with a replica of the Robot taken at Wonderfest 2011.
Will and Dr Smith were the show and I love that the bond between them stayed strong through out the years until the death of Jonathan, if you don't see the love and respect in these two guys then your blind, i will admit Dr smith would sometimes get me upset when I watched the show but that's because he played his part well which at the time I didn't get, but if as an actor you can get the viewers to ether love you or hate you because of the script your playing then you did your part well, thanks for the memories.
Same here, I must admit at the time I wish it would have stayed more sci-fi like the first few episodes of season 1, but now I love the comedy and the campiness of it. Doctor Smith throwing all the insults at the robot, makes me worry once we have artificial intelligence, they are going to cancel the re-runs because of Doctor Smith harassing the robot.
Fantastic video of one of my favorite shows in classic TV. Bill Mumy is a Class Act and seems like a great guy. I wanted to be Will Robinson when I was a kid. Jonathan Harris still has it as dr. Smith. It's too bad they couldn't get Dick Tufeld to provide the voice for the robot. But still a great video. Love Lost in Space
I will never forget the day or evening that is that lost in space aired for the very first time I was being punished and forced to stay in my room while my mom watched the show across the hall in her room, and I had my ear to the door, trying to hear every single word it was torture, not being able to see it. The other show that we used to talk about in school the night after was the outer limits lost in space in the outer limits were so cool back then and brought about many schoolboy conversations and lit. Our imaginations scared the shit out of us to :-)!
Very well done little skit. Jonathan Harris and Billy Mumy and Bobbie May together again. Now how cool is that. It's like they never left the Jupiter 2. Nice to see the behind the scenes look.
Thanks for a blast from the past for me,I am still in love with the show just about as much as well now I've got to do some math I guess that I was about eight or nine years old when this first come on t.v.anyway I still love it! RIP to the ones that have passed on!!!!!!I'll be with them soon enough!!!!!
Its so sad watching this as it brings so many memories of when life was totally fantastic!! rip jonathan you were brilliant and sadly missed along with guy williams hopefully we shall all be together in that great promised land they call heaven.
Watching this back in the 60s I never imagined I’d be holding a smartphone computer with all the knowledge in the world at my fingertips. I was in awe at Max Smarts shoephone.
Aww... I wanted to see the complete sequence of what they were filming, but it was great to see Will, Dr. Smith and the Robot together! It warmed my heart! Oh bliss! O joy!
I was Billy Mumy's age when Lost In Space aired and thought the robot was real and had no idea that someone was actually inside that thing. Well done Bobby May. (you bubble-headed booby)
Wow that was sure great seeing all of the cast or some of the cast together again in this I'll bet they had a lot of fun when they did this to they will never have shows like this on television again you can't beat the classics this is when TV was real TV and fun TV
Who else here had the hots for Penny 'Angela Cartwright'? I was 10 yrs old when this fantastic TV show 'Lost In Space' hit the airwaves. I watched it religiously every Sunday eve because if you missed it you missed it for good! There was no VCR's, PVR's to record shows back then so you would have to wait yrs for it to come in the form of reruns. It was yrs before I realized she was 'Brigitta von Trapp' in the 'Sound of Music'. Very cool seeing the behind the scenes props & the makings. I own a animated 10" high B9 Robot. Love to have the life sized one. Txs Old Man Hulk, you made my day.
Yes I has a bit of a crush on her. She was so much older than me at the time. I love lost in space, such a fun show ,and I risked a smack on the bum for watching it, but I still did.
I met Jonathan Harris in Orlando Fl. at the Sci-fi Con in 2000, he was the nicest of the whole cast, his body was almost identical to my dad's and they were about the same height. His facial features were a lot like may dad's too. Pretty cool.
I wish that when this special aired, they could have had Major West, Maureen, Judy, and Penny do that skit at the end with Will, Dr. Smith, and the robot, it would have been neat to have Don and Will trying to control the Jupiter 2 to try to get back to earth.
I love this show, it's such a big part of my childhood, and Dr Smith as well. I also loved the reboot on Netflix, I know, I shouldn't , but the actress who played Dr Smith, forget her name, sorry, nailed it, in my opinion
Back in the late 70's and early 80's a lot of made for tv movies started reuniting shows like " Gilligan's Island "and" The Munsters" and I was hoping they would fully reunite THIS great cast and have them make it home in a two hour special.
I was hoping for the exactly the same thing. I don’t like it when loose ends are left unresolved. A return to Earth would’ve been the perfect conclusion.
When harris died he had very little money mummy paid for Everything the original cast that was still with us told everyone what mummy had done for harris
I tried to watch every episode as a kid...without even thinking about how it was really set up...I loved the car they used to travel around the planets and the elevation suit.. it was so real. .and I can still remember a eposoide where will was eating a lorna doon cookie cause you could see it was a lorna doon cookie.....

It's crazy how Jonathan Harris popped right back into his role after all these years. That is talent right there.

Yes he is
This was really cool. Dr Smith was my favorite character. Everything here looks much like the original, especially the robot. Billy still looks pretty young, too.
Never fear Smith is Here, RIP Jonathan Harris and Guy Willians
Guy Williams was Zorro!
Nobody could have played the part Harris did as well as he did. He picked up that character as though the series was fresh in season. Well done.

You can hear Jonathan Harris's actual, unaffected voice at around 5:07 when he says "Not bad for an old fart." Great, thanks for posting!
thank you for this video....so many grand memories with this series!

It may have been 30 years, but Dr. Smith sure didn't miss a beat. No one could ever replace him.
Thankfully Dick was still alive in 1998 to continue doing the voice-overs
for the Robot in this Lost In Space doco tribute!

and I looked like Angela Cartwright except I was a boy.
Great stuff. We in australia back in the 70s wore what was as close as possible to will robinsons out fit. Oh the pain.
Amazing, thank you so much for posting this, so sentimental.
Amazing watching Jonathan Harris "Turn On" Dr. Smith after all these years!
how nice to see the affection of the crew & cast members
These guys made it great to grow up in the '60s!
As hokey as the special was, it was wonderful to watch. So was this behind the scenes video!
Such a significant AND formative part of my very young years ..... Lost in Space (forever!!)

I didn't know Dick Tufeld died. Can't believe it, sure will miss him, he was the TRUE voice for the robot on the original Lost in Space TV Show.

always pretty good to see. Great moments when I were a kid. Thanks.
That with Batman, the Munsters and Kroft Super Show made my childhood. The Bionic man was awesome too.
they should build a permanent lost in space exhibit in the Franklin institute science museum in Philadelphia
