    Quick question. If the hay around the truck is being fed to animals, won’t it be full of the blasting media, paint dust and rust?

    18 year extremely professional painter, have an opportunity to join the painters union, but the rep says sandblasting is a huge part of the jobs.. I know blasting is kind of dangerous and just kinda sucks holding one of those things all day, but the pay is 38 an hour to start and 40 after 3 months, all benefits, all the bells and whistles.. 🤷‍♂️ so I'm trying to see if it's worth it!

    using the nova 2000 mask is good but lack of sand flow is making this project way longer coastng way more money, this should take 8 hours or less. and the nossel tip is to small need something a lil bit wider for faster clear speed

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  3 роки тому

      Hi I'm using the nova 3 not the 2000 :) each blaster will have their own way of doing things the reasons I do it like this, For any more media flow wouldn't give me a faster cut the only thing that would have gave me a faster cut is heaver media and more air cfm in both cases the media needed to cut slightly faster would have been almost 3x the cost of glass and ive tried it in the past I don't fink it cuts 3x faster. So in my opinion not worth the extra cost. More air would be nice but in the uk I'm limited to what I can tow and my 260cfm is right on the border of my vans safe towing ability. More air would drink more derv in turn only saving a little extra time but adding more cost to the job. The Nozzle/tip is set for 260cfm @100psi a bigger nozzle wouldn't gain anything only slow the job down bigger bore will lower the psi anything below 100psi isn't optimal. Anything over 100psi is unsafe with my pot and nearly every other on the market is rated to operate at this. The job he wanted was quoted 8 hour but he then asked for extras taking it over.

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  Рік тому

      I tend to disagree hears my reasoning, If I did turn it up I would have wasted media yeah it would be a little quicker but wasting 60/70% of the extra media (with rebound hitting the stream) when im the 1 buying the gear I find a happy medium with derv(air consumption) and media(coverage) I find if the nozzle sounds like a whistle its too low and extra media could be added if it sounds like a train chu chu chuc etc its way too high anywhere in this range (with out theses sounds) is ideal for me. I find lower media more air makes a better profile as the air has more chance of pushing lower volume of media at higher speeds than big lumps of media thats going to re hit the rebound. I like to try and be in the optimal range :)

      @@Mattie_Ice cfm and psi is determined with the nosel and pipes what helmet etc etc I'm running at optimal 198cfm to the nosel rest to presure the pot fees the helmet and any air left will counter the slight were on my nosel 👌 blasting can be achieved with any cfm you need to know cfm you have before buying any equipment. Only 1 real thing to think is bigger the better but derv and mobility then play a massive factor so it's all down to skill level if you get the most out of the air available. Without sounding like a cock a skilled bloke could operate a 140/180cfm and out perform a novice on a 300cfm with efficiency media and derv wise plus the visors that's likely to be used up quicker with less skilled bloke. Basically the better you get at it the more you will save good luck I personally started with a 140cfm and upgraded to 180 around the 2 year after mark then 3 or 5 year after thet I'm on a 260 and find it to be perfect for me but if my driving was any less skilled I would definitely be picking 180 as these can be moved by 1 man well kind of 260 is a 2 man job if your driving is a little poor haha

    Take the dead man off the hose bro. Don’t hold the nozzle with your hand if it comes off it’s gonna hurt. Your hand should be half on the join and half on the hose. Blast all underside surfaces first. And did I see you blast the threads the tyres bolt onto. Ugh. I’ve blasted for 15 years in Mining oil and gas so maybe a bit fussy. The positive side I’ve seen worse. Lol.

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  3 роки тому

      If the Nozzle wasn't supposed to be held why has it got nerling on for grip? The job sheet on this was to do the face's none of the underside 👌 the media used won't damage the threads just clean them out I'm able to blast wires and airline's with out busting or cutting through them I know they will be fine 👍 to make a complete perfect job it would need stripping to an inch of its life have it over a pit etc but the man hours alone would value the trailer as scrap all he was after was a tidy up so the old bill don't pull him over as he moves it from 1 field to the next. With it been agricultural it don't need MOT (UK tests to say its safe for the road) same again it won't be pulled any faster than 25mph and a maximum of 1.6km from his farm or land 👍 he just wanted it to look fresher than it did 😊 please have a snoop through my other videos 😊
