    Dennis Gage let us strip his own truck in his own yard with the Dustless Blaster. In the show, only a few short clips were used as B-Roll footage, but in this video we show you a little bit more of this famous project.

    This is also known as vapor or aqua blasting. Commonly used in Great Britain by motorcycle and automotive shops for many years to clean aluminum and cast iron engine blocks and parts without damage, leaving an like new finish. Here in the US we seem to be a little behind the curve as I cannot find anyone in my area that can do this work or even knows what I'm talking about, for that matter.

    What kind of kick does the hose have. I used to worke with a 140psi system and I am thinking of getting your system in the future.

    • @DustlessBlasting-MMLJ
      @DustlessBlasting-MMLJ  9 років тому

      Steve Staley It's got a pretty good push back, it probably feels similar to the 140 psi dry system you may have used.

    • @barthoedemaker
      @barthoedemaker 9 років тому

      +Dustless Blasting 140 psi is 9.6 bar. That's not that much, I was expecting 20 bar or something.. That's pretty awesome ! I have a regular sand blasting cabinet for automative parts, I am using 10 bar of pressure, and sometimes even with the heavy rust, I feel I need some more..

      The Dustless Blaster uses a mixture of abrasive AND water. This adds mass to the blast, making it more powerful than dry sandblasting.

      We always use abrasive media mixed with water. In our opinion, the best one is 40/70 recycled bottle glass because it's clean, consistent, inexpensive, and can be used for a wide variety of substrates.

    • @DustlessBlasting-MMLJ
      @DustlessBlasting-MMLJ  5 років тому

      The Dustless Blaster uses a mixture of water and abrasive. This allows you to strip tough coatings like paint, rust, and bondo -- which can't be removed by a traditional pressure washer.

    Hang on ..I didn't get that.. so it's just water pressure removing the paint?

    • @DustlessBlasting-MMLJ
      @DustlessBlasting-MMLJ  5 років тому +1

      Great question. The difference between Dustless Blasting and power washing / water pressure is that there is abrasive in the process. This makes it capable of stripping much tougher coatings. Power washing is good for cleaning dirt and grime, but it generally can't remove rust, paint, bondo, etc. If you'd like to see a comparison, here is a video: ua-cam.com/video/VkacNkNihUQ/v-deo.html

      Hi Chris! Depending on the job, it's not always necessary to strip a surface all the way down to white metal. That's especially true if the customer plans to re-coat the surface (like in this video). If you're curious about the different surface prep standards, we have a video about that, too :) ua-cam.com/video/3ihBAaN8_pY/v-deo.html

    It's called slurry blasting. The press switch sucks but the nozzle is really good. For more effective blasting he needs to create an overlapping strokes which cuts and cleans simultaneously
