This last spring I was gifted a Bruce Banner 3 fast version clone. I grew her on my deck in a 10gal. pot. She started flowering In early July and by mid September was done👍🏽. Still within our warm period in the Northeast U.S. ( most photos ripen, at best, in mid-late October here and usually you are fighting cold, mold and frost to get them anywhere near mature trichomes). The smoke is great and the clones I took off her, mid summer, I had to finish under lights inside…due to our cold weather by early October…
I had a Larry’s OG/Thor’s Hammer auto runt go male on the deck also, and it pollenated the Bruce 3 alittle bit…so I have seeds that I’m going to try next summer. It will be interesting to see what that back-cross with an Auto will produce…

I'm currently on week 7 of flower with a Wedding Cheesecake FF from Fast Buds. Only my second grow with still a lot to learn. That being said, buds are really good sized and just feel chunky. Super trichome coverage and density. The smell it leaves on my fingers is really similar to the Gorilla Cookies Auto I grew my first ever grow.

Autoflowering cannabis didn't come from "Ditch weed" It's called ruderalis and originated in Eastern Europe/Russia and adapted to flower in full daylight because summer up there can have up to 24 hours of daylight depending on how close you get to the arctic circle.

Finally legal in ohio so i can spread out a little more in the basement . ive been seeing some of these ff seeds and was wondering if yield and quality was still similar . being able to take cuts and keep the genetic as well as the light cycle and only being able to mild training is whats kept me from doing autos , although i do remember getting a black domina auto freebie yrs back and it had about 6oz of the frostiest black/purple fat buds after dry and cure . fast flowering could be a game changer . imagine using that extra 10 days for veg and still using the same amount of total days for the whole cycle. espicially when there are no. of plant limits . thanks for sharing your knowledge with everyone .

I was talking with my friend about this the other day wondering bc they have u take domes off seedlings soon as they sprout but clones u kee dome on. She said I was to do with the roots starting a seed and leafs trying to make roots on a clone would be the difference they are growing through leafs vs roots. Which I'm confused on bc how can they grow if they only have one part of the equation. They take sunlight from leafs and pull in CO2 right? And they pull water and nutes from the roots? To both move the sugars and starchs to creates cells and prespire? If plants can't get water from roots bc they are clone don't have them yet how do they get the water to help the plants cool? I've grow seeds and took clones successfully but I'm just sitting back now and thinking wow. How does this actually work I know how it works but HOW does it work lol

They tried flowering he pulled all the flowers off and all the little white hairs and forced the ladies back into veg mode. Then He bent them over at 6ft now all the side branches are 2ft long headed to the roof It’s like a forest . Some had 4 tops bent over. Although he started with 10 seeds and now has 20+ plants to which are mostly clones. All them smaller branches grow but some live and some die.

Yeah there is ways to cut time. Very important when trying to get in 5 grows a year. It's when and where you take clones off a plant. Go look up cannabis plant morphology. Clones after the 25th node get done sooner. They have more oxytocin. The auto maybe the first cannabis plants as auto flowering is a recessive trait. You have a 2% chance of getting auto out of F1 cross of photo and auto. Fast photos aren't always fast. Most times fast photos show sex early. I don't see them getting done earlier. Fast photos show there sex sooner. Your chart is off because fast photos are mixed in with autos all the way to the f5's. I have a clone of an auto now in the fridge. I don't think it will get any kind of size. But for breeding purposes it works. I wasn't sure till this grow if our ultimate purples were fast photos or autos. They are fast photos. But fast photos show sex in about 25 days just like autos. The autos and fast photos don't get done at same times. The fast photos take about regular time to flower.

Autos are gash unless you do the odd one or two. Buy 9 photo clones per light, veg for 14 days, flower for 56 and you’ll have a much better harvest in 70 days than you will with any auto flower.

Well this video title is erronous and so is the implication of this video. These are mostly known as semi-auto's. Now here is the issue... there are MANY ways to achieve "fast flowering" but more important to this conversation is fast flowering from auto flower breeding.
Semi-Auto's is what this video is talking about. These are plants that have an autoflower allele at a single location along with a photo period allele. Assuming this is simple mendelian inheritance. But from what the data says on semi auto's that I know of, it is when it is heterozygous for the auto gene... we get the plants that are semi auto.
While they do start to flower under less darkness than regular photoperiod plants, they do come with some caveats. One of which being they will auto flower on you under certain stress conditions. For example a common cause of semi auto "fast flowering" plants to go full auto on you is from small root systems.
So while these are indeed faster flowering than regular photos on average.... I would argue they are not what the inference of this video is about. You would need to talk about regular photoperiod plants that will flower under 13 hours of light or more, and also just simply plants that flower in a short amount of time. As these plants will genetically be photoperiods but will also have traits for flowering under increased daylight hours of 1 or more.
So this is why you dont really see these semi'auto forms taking off in the market. Because they are heterozygous for the trait you would require two true breeding parentals one homozygous for auto and the other homozygous for photo sensitives to breed f1 populations of 100% "fast flowering" semi-auto's. This isn't actually hard to do if the assumption is that this trait is ONLY a result of a single loci. But we made this assumption with CBD and now it turns out that thc/cbd is two locations on the genome and are interacting together, not just a single loci following simple Mendelian modes of inheritance.
If breeders simply make the f1 cross and then "intermate" the f1 population to create the f2. The f2 population (assuming some level of inbred parentals) is where we will see the population segregate on its own, including the auto gene. Simply start to intermate the photo sensitive's amongst themselves and do the same for the auto's to create their own lines. Work those down the line as desired. This will allow you to then INTRAmate the two segregated populations and achieve an f1 population with 100% "fast flowering" semi'auto's. You could also retain or restore some level of heterosis depending on numerous factors along the way.

the issue will always never be quality its the inability to keep your unicorns like photoperiod, your stuck buying seeds every grow and hoping you get another dank one,and flast flowerings usually only have mono terps, they are volatile and disappear halfway through joint, where 10-12 week flowering plants have sesquiterpene's that are way more hardy and hold there flav and dankness throu entire joint, ill never understand why they wanna short up the grow time at the cost of quality

Alos, I just wanted to point out a MAJOR misconception being conveyed in this video on heterosis aka hybrid vigour.
    1. There is a point of genetic disimilarity that when crossed, creates outbreeding DEPRESSION, the opposite of heterosis. Heterosis and inbreeding depression go hand in hand. And a major result of this is something called outbreeding depression. We can easily see outbreeding depression and most breeders see it frequently.
    2. Hybrid vigour can affect some or all of the genome. It is not a for sure thing that we get hybrid vigour when we cross plants we think are genetically distinct for the trait we are thinking. And we can experience both outbreeding depression and heterosis at the same time for different traits. We cant just make the claim that crossing two distinct parentals will yield hybrid vigour.
    3. Most of the auto flowers being grown and bred with these days are worked and have many long runs of homozygosity that is fixing traits within their genomes. Many of these traits are shared in most autoflower breeding stock. So when we cross a modern autoflower with a modern photo sensitive we will most likely NOT see plants with highly increased resin content... simply because that trait is most likely already fixed in both parentals and thus no hybrid vigour for it. Of course there is always exceptions but generally speaking you cant see hybrid vigour if the parentals share traits that are identical by descent.
Imagine I have a worked Chem D line that breeds true and I have an autoflower population that is (zkittlez x chem D) x Auto Chem D.
If I take these two populations/individuals and crossed them, we would see a large portion of them exibit Chem D traits. Both parental populations contain Chem D alleles/traits so we would not be seeing any hybrid vigour there most likely overall. Many of the traits are identical by descent so we just cant get any hybrid vigour. But under Scotty's claims, we should see hybrid vigour because one poopulation was autoflower and the other was not. See the flawed logic here?

@@lucky6666someone doesn’t understand matching DLI. In Veg you’re usually at 300-450 PPFD and in flower you’re in 500-900 range. Mathematically, 12 hours of 900 PPFD is the same amount of light as 600 PPFD for 18. This is really important to understand cause your goal is to match the amount of light or DLI they’re getting on flip. Another reason people grow autos, photos are complicated. The results are consistently better with photos, though. So it’s worth the work. Why put all that work into an auto when you don’t know what you’re even getting? Seems like a fools errand. Autos are cool for outdoor grow tbh, cause it’s less concern on your part if it sucks. Less cost, less space, less inputs. That’s the only way autos make sense
