Mr. Never Blinks I enjoy your podcasts immensely and have learned so much. I use 5 gallon fabric and plastic pots to enable me to get as much sunlight as possible. Also I live close to the Pacific Ocean and get the evening wetness, the evil of plants with bud rot. I bring them into the garage at night and keep the fan blowing. Nightly inspections for caterpillars with a flashlight and weekly BT until the last two weeks.
I've been following the Build A Soil principals. I use a 4x2 soil bed in my 4x2 tent now. Went from 5 gallon AC infinity fabric pots to the grass roots soil bed. Running 70 gallons in there. The plants get massive root systems and grow big and healthy quickly. Soil bed isn't for everyone. It's very very heavy. However, the soil is alive and never gets changed. It's a whole ecosystem now
whats your transplants like now? seed direct into bed? im planning my 2x4 but havnt followed build a soil before. im planning on doing seed starter then 1 gallon maybe 3 gallon if need be then into my bed
@lutherniheu6079 I start the seedlings in solo cups then go straight into the bed. From Clones I do the same, solo cup to bed. You could do a stage in between but it's easier this way for me. Cuts out a lot of work
I just started that practice outside 15 gallon bags I'm hoping the buds are nice this year also I planted Auto flowers in 15 gallon pits outside I hope my efforts are paid with huge dividends James loud photos and tricks Auto flowers 😅 happy growing 6/17/24
I went from 3 gallon to 7 gallon pots 2 crops ago. It changed everything. I veg 8 weeks. Start in solo cups, then 2 gallon pots then to 7 gallon to flower. My crop last August was 8 ounces......January my crop was 28 ounces.
@ttano1117 32 inch x 7.5 foot 8 plants. I said the veg wrong tho. I cut clones a couple days before the crop goes into flower. So 2ish weeks to root and transplant and 6 is weeks of veg. 4 mars hydro ts1000 for flower and 2 for veg. Perpetual setup. Promix, dr earth
I’ve been growing for over 20 yrs now. For a long time before it was legal it was small indoor grows or gorilla mountain side growing. Outdoor I prefer 7-10 gallon and that does well. The main two roots will find their way into the ground and the plants become monsters yielding over a lb outdoor. Indoor I like one month veg after seedling stage is over, about 3 weeks. Then right to flower. 4-5 gallon works well for nice size buds with this long of flower. Drywall compound buckets are now only 4.5 gallon with shrink flation but they’re now black so no need to paint anymore! Cheers I love your videos on insight of your preferred grow methods
I play with autos a lot and pot size matters. I planted 2 seeds in 3 gallon fabric pots and 1 in 7 gallon pot and 1 in a 10 gallon pot. The difference was huge, got a little over 3oz per plant in 3 gallon pots and 8oz from the 7 gallon pot and 13oz from the 10 gallon pot, all fed same nutrients and in the same tent.
I love these two guys the guy asking the questions i imagine knows just as much as the other one so knows exactly what kind of questions to ask to give us short cuts to info uk 👍
You can definitely start auto's in smaller pots and move them up to the final containers within the first 14 days without much if any drawback aslong as the starting pots are sufficient in size though I would suggest 10 days is best and every day after 16 you will notice in the final outcome, 3ltr pots should suffice. The main benefit of auto's in my opinion is the ability to grow perpetually, as one lot comes down the other lot get potted up. Great info as always guys!
I start my autos in peat pods, once they have 4 true leaves they get put in 5 gallon pots in my 2x4. I only grow 2 at a time so they have room to spread out. I've thought about moving to 7 gallon pots.
I used to up size pots, found it to be a pain ,but to be honest i've been changing things slightly every grow, trying different things to see what works best for what i want, then again i like the challenge of changing it up
I use 3 gallon for autos and a 5 gallon for photos (both fiber pots). I do not like to transpplant (had many mistakes transplanting) but after this video I may start my photo plants in slolo cups. Although I just harvested an auto that was fully grown in a solo cup, long story. I fertilized the heck out of it most every day. I ended up getting one bud off the top.
I’m switching up constantly as a breeder, but once I understand the phenotype it’s 10 gallon fabric pots. Currently i’ve grown out 5/26 of my own cultivars and have been using 3 gallon fabric pots to get an idea for the lighting needed when I really grow one out for weight
I go from a solo cup to a 4.5 gallon pot and just take it easy with watering to start with. I can normally flip to flower 3-3.5 week after transplanting
Uppotting was one of the best practices i learned and saw & have real robust clones!! So i go from nursery cups alittle bigger than solo cups. After i see roots or new growth i than uppot to 1/2 gal. Containers. Intil its close to go into bloom, than ill go for 3 gal. Container final!! I got over 3 foot Pink Runtz in my 1/2 gal. Containers.... i used to go from the solo cup to 3 gal. Thats definetly a no go... the transcition from veg. To bloom takes longer and i feel lose body mass!!! Peace love & chicken grease!! Love from Massachusetts......❤❤❤
I go from clear solo sized cups ( so I can see when the roots are getting near the bottom) to 4-5 gallon buckets for outside growing. I really don’t want a main cola height high enough that I need a ladder to examine it. I usually end up with 5-6 footers and after harvest I dump the soil out and the root ball has completely filled the container. This in a climate close to Niagara Falls. I drill dozens of holes through the sides and bottom of the buckets.
Lots of really great information as always ! I always hated growing in small pots or containers because of all the watering you have to do . If I grow in a container it has to be really large . I grow in one of the kids old plastic sand pits shaped like a boat for years lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !
hello I'm not in no pot I'm straight in the ground… and I always try to get my plants out the last two weeks of April… why so soon? Because we get a lot of rain around that time plum through May and the plants love it! and they grow very quickly... during this time I do not feed nothing besides it's hard to feed when it's raining so much which I do not mind at all… It gives the plants a giant Headstart and since I am in ground I wind up with very large Indica plants… next year going to grow both Indica and sativa I would love to see how tall I get a sativa plant! and a lot of times when it comes to feeding, I don't get to feed until usually the very beginning of June lol because of the rain through April and through May… I top the very top of the plants and the limbs when they come out and get at least four or five nodes over 3 foot tall as well I only do this once :-) I shave the legs and keep the stock clear of any debris… just where the limbs are where they start at the stock... just there only everything on top where the bud sites I leave alone... I will keep it trimmed like this And I feed with my own organic teas that I blend together, one for veg and one for flour Nutrient uptake is immediately I only do this after they bounce back from the topping and shaving the legs… they explode Then I feed the veg tea usually two or three times… after they bounce back from topping and shaving the legs I water in between feedings I have a 55 gallon drum that I fill up and let it dechlorinate… and run the pH down to 6.2 to 6.5-ish It's right beside my garden :-) in the middle of May and then in the middle of June of feed again, and then at the end of July I will feed of course at the same time in May, June and July I will be adding in silica blast because of the weather will start getting hotter sometimes beginning but normally at the end of June... I start feeding silica blast this time the beginning of June through August and in August it gets extremely hot… the silica blast seriously helps! I will add silica blast one more time in the middle of August and then swapping to a flower tea with extra NPK boosters, and this is when they explode in stretch and in growth in Bud weight extremely! I begin this immediately at the end of August that's when time starts to flip and will be feeding every other third week plumb into the first week of October flushing for the last three weeks up until harvest...😎 I am growing my own medical marijuana… I am in Oklahoma :-) I am 100% blind and love growing!🥰 and I found your show very informative I might think about using grow dots but only with my auto flower grow next time… For my auto flower run I use 7 gallon cloth pots… here are the strains I'm rocking and rolling this year one is (a wonderful smelling super super sticky extremely gassy frozen black cherry I recommend this girl extremely!!!) I ordered the seeds from Spain, next... from Canada, I got the seeds from Med Mann from here inside of UA-cam believe it or not… You can find him at medman.com and the plants they was wonderful!!! running them again this year...... they were regular seeds but they still produced females! The names are rockstar, original Headbanger, Master Kush… The auto flowers I like to run come from growers choice seeds... the seeds come out of California... i've never had a problem with this company some people have... I deal with them over the phone they make my orders and everything… there's not very many companies that you can talk to by phone and to make an order... lol lol the strains I like to get for auto flowers is critical purple and cotton candy Kush… and the plants that I got from Med Man for Indica plants they was every bit of 7 foot tall with massive sticky buds I loved it! and they're on their way to be that tall again this year......🥰 I do suggest the plants I also extremely extremely suggest the frozen black cherry and if you like autoflowers the cotton candy Kush smells exactly like it sounds and it taste great it's an amazing plant… critical purple for an auto flower it got very large and has a very strong Skunky pungent barnyard odor and the buds got very large and beautiful she got little over 3 foot tall... for a auto flower that's pretty large! she produced 4 1/2 ounces of dry weight not bad at all the cotton candy Kush I got 3 ounces I fell in love with those strains for auto flowers immediately! lol and the girls from Canada love them as well that's why I'm running them again this year! I didn't get the auto flowers this year didn't have the funds 🥰 sorry for rambling so much lol I just get excited when I talk about gardening!😎 thank you for your show I really enjoyed it…
I’m on my 3rd grow. I’m experimenting with 8 clones in 2 gallon plastic pots in a 5x5. I’m in med veg. Planning on not repotting to floor them sooner. Can’t wait I have a variety this time
I grow 6 plants at 12/12 from start to finish. I use small 1gal cloth pots. I have a 2x2 tent. Get about 2.5 to 3.5 ounces. Sometimes I have some left at the next harvest 😀
I just grew 4 Gorilla Cookies autos, 3 inside 1 outside, inside in a 2x2 ,got 2.5 oz each 3 gallon bags. 1 outside in a 7 gallon got close to 6 oz 160 grams dry. Not sure which made the most difference, the pot size or the Sun vs LED. Currently have 6 outside in 10 gallon "photos" tropicana banana,skunk#1,Grand daddy Purple 2 of each And 6 autos in 7 gallons. Do si do 33,Gorilla Punch,Purple Punch @2 each
@@Grizz_grows420 just use Gaia green with advanced nutrients supplements and use lotus bloom in flowering and use advanced nutrients micro on veg and flower also use recharge
Love the dots and recharge got extended veg too ill use that for photos and regular work great for autos just chopped 3 cherry cola from fast buds. Not huge amounts but the dank is dank😮
I go solo cups (16-20 oz), then transplant to 1 gal plastic then 3 gallon . I transplant when I see roots at the bottom of the cup/pot. I’m having less problems with ph with plastic versus fabric so going forward will use plastic.
In the early 2003-2005 range, I lived in North County Sandy Eggo. We called it Hog's Breath. Maybe Hog is the modern interpretation. It had a very unique terp profile that I have not smelled for almost two decades. Then my Hawaiian Haze CBD hemp came out with the same terp profile of Hog's Breath. Anyone is welcome to a cut.
I normally go from the solo cups to 1.5 gallon plastic grow bags. I veg them out for about 6 weeks then i up them to 3 gallons and send them into flower outdoor the same day or 5 gallons and send them into follower outdoor the same day. I have a 3x3 tent i veg 36 plants in 😂 i make clones off the same 36 plants so i usually be cutting 36 clones, the best branch of the trees every 2 months. My yield is mostly 8 ponds every two months. So 48 pounds a year.
I wanna try a 1 gallon run with about 8 or 9 plants. What do you think how much is the yield of one plant in a 1 gallon pot with this setup? I use a 2,6 x 2,6 tent with 150w MarsHydro on organic soil.
Nice job Scotty I up pot from solo to 2 gal and then either 5-7 gal. What are some tea’s for flowering. Question for you. I added a second light so i went from 35watt average per foot to 55 watts. Is this going to help my grow overall. Thanks
I start with a paper dixie cup with the potting soil put through a fine screen so you have no little bits of wood or any clumps. Pop the seed in keep in moist after it pops up maybe let it go for 3 days. Trans plant right into my 12 gallons black plastic pots. Let them grow in there until harvest time. I grow outdoors plants get about 6.5 to 8 feet tall with an average of 12 ounces of dry buds per plants. ( Give or take an ounce ) 10 to 12 plants 120 to 150 ounces a season...
Hey Scott, I am starting seed germination and planning on grow three to four plants in a diy grow tent. I bought great soil and three gallon fabric grow bags and I'm nervous that won't be enough. Plus it's my first time growing on my own and in my house. I need help maybe if you could give me your beginner steps I could practice please it would give me more convenience. Also I don't have extra money for fancy nutrients is there diy products I can give my future plants to sustain then and how long should germination be, vegging, and flowering be thanks buddy.
i transplant my autos just like you do your regular. I use clear plastic cups inside of solid cups so i can see the roots. When i can see the roots I transplant. Never had stunting, never had any issues with yield. It generally increases my yield, I use Mycorrhizae when I transplant to speed up root growth. I wouldn't let the plant outgrow the solo cup though.
I'm growing in a small closet so I've only been using 3 gallon pots the last two plants that I grew I did it in 5 gal fabric containers and absolutely yes it does make a difference I doubled the size of the plants or better
I like going from solo cup to 7 gal container (final home). Obviously making sure not to over water. Once in the 7gal, I water 4oz. Then 8oz after about 10 days later. After about another 10 days, I up it to 16oz. of water. Most importantly, "paying attention to the leaves and where they sit". Once I see them starting to droop, I water the next day just to make sure they're actually thirsty. I've noticed that the lower leaves droop before the top ones do. I keep uping the amount of water as they get bigger and also depending on how fast they guzzle the water
Nice. Its so important to do this. I've messed up. Over watering and even under watered. I watered too much on the outside edge and solo cup root ball wasn't getting water.
@@nickbeltz8602 watering the solo cup is actually pretty easy. All you need so you won't mess up is a spray bottle. 20 sprays every time you notice the top soil getting dry. It sounds like a lot but I've been doing it this way for a while and haven't had any issues. I follow 420 scene and use his methods. They work well for me
For people who have trouble transplanting I recommend to water and then transplant a day before the next need for water and don't disturb the roots. If it's a solo cup in the next pot make sure you have a hole big enough to just drop the entire thing right in in the same size and shape of the solo and also have the new pot of soil already watered don't water after the transplant if the outer soil is wet and the solo cup size soil just damp enough so it's not thirsty but also not overly wet. Then when you put that in the properly pre soaked soil instead of that next day needing water it will wick up the outer new soils water for a few days wait to water until that slight wilt again it's better and easier to fix an under watered plant than an over watered. So that's why I say good moist not over watered new soil and that day before needing water soil never had an issue and I'm still new at it. Just one of those things I got lucky to figure out from trial and error
Hey Scotty can you please do a video of spraying / pest / mold / fungus management outdoors? I grow in greenhouse and have a bug net. I just stick to a weekly spray regiment up until week 2 of bloom. I live in an area where spider mites and thrips rock out crazy during the summer (central California). Anyway advice on all those things would be awesome. I've watched all your vids and you're spot on with everything.
Started growing in the Seventies, nowadays I plant the seed straight in the pot, and I determine the size of the pot by how often I´ll need to water it, and find it is easier to use a bigger pot which dries out slower.
Size doesn't matter, what only matters is correct feeding and watering. The bigger pot the less you water and viceversa. There's a sweet point between both, mines between 2.5 gal and 4 gal, no need for more indoors, watering 2 times a week should be enough
I have a 3 tent system right now clones/seedling tent a veg tent and flower.. and the pot size kinda depends on the stage thier in. 🤔 solo cup 1 gall then depending on how much growth i get 3,5,15 or 20 gallon container 😅😊 for flowers 💐 🤔
Biggest plants I've grown was with grow dots and recharge. Hit it with liquid koolbloom during bud. In coco. It was all by accident also. 8 punches from a 3 gallon fabric pot
I like to grow in 4 gallon pots as well. Now I do start all plants in a solo cups. Well what I mean is I have my 4 gallon pot and then I place a solo cup in the center of my pot then I fill all around the cup with soil that has Ben cooking for over 4 weeks. I then remove the cup leaving the hole from the cup. I will then fill the whole with a cup filled with pro mix HP and worm castings. This way you get the solo cup grow and don’t have to transplant.
Autos…You can certainly transplant autos successfully, Autos under a 18/6 light schedule has a vegetative stage of 2-5 weeks veg max. From a Solo Cup 9-11 days until transplanting, for me. 1st 4 weeks plant is vegging Starts to flower day 35-40 Rule of thumb: 2 weeks or 4-10” in height = a robust root system and several nodes is a good sign before transplanting, making sure to avoid letting the tap root/roots hit the bottom of the cup. Letting the roots touch the bottom will forever hurt your crop, stunt the growth and significantly decrease overall yields. Here’s a 2 for 1 tip on Autos, for LST/Pruning -When leafs reach outside of solo cup or container, from here you got about 30 days to train your plants. For my photoperiods I usually transplant/up-pot 3x from seed and top/de leaf my plants multiple times throughout transplanting. The solo cups gets topped once. Then the 1/Gal gets topped 2-3 more times. The 3/Gal gets topped 2-3 more times. Then final 10/Gal gets topped & lollipoped until it is ready to flower. Depending on genetics growth habits/ceiling height and grow style.
great show , this one had good stuff, i sprouted my seeds in one gallon buckets under a 100 watts of T-5 light just transplanted into 6, 30 gallon buckets for back yard grow under a screen to protect from moths etc. i hate worms , half gallon is the smallest i pot use and 3 weeks later huge plant , seeds in smaller cups lag behind larger pots when it comes to seedlings,
5G fabric pot is gold. I’ve vegged for months and never an issue. Clone goes straight to 5G, I’m lazy is the main reason lol but it works great for me. Side note, after harvest the entire pot is a sponge of roots and I recycle that back into my soil.
Yes it does matter definitely, depending on how your growing butbthe longer the grow perioud thenbigger the pot, ive tried 50L pots and 95L pots and i can grow a bigger plant faster and get better yields that way. I plant straight into the final pot,
I live in Atlantic Canada and grow 4+ outdoors in 30 gallon fabric pots. I think I’m going to be going down to a 20 gallon this season. I move them into my garage when it rains while they are flowering. Getting too old to be lugging them back and forth. Also I’m going to force them into flower earlier by putting a dark trash bag over them when they’re re vegging. Enjoy your videos. Keep them coming.
@@ScottyReal420 I’m going to put the bags on at 6pm and take off at 9/930pm each evening. It’s just temporary so hopefully it should be fine. Thanks for the info and the reply.
3 different pot sizes is best for production and efficiency. Solo cup, 2 gallon, the 5 - 15 gallon. This allows you to transplant from 2 gallon to final pot the day after harvest. Veg for another week - 2 weeks or flower immediately. This is how you can permanently flower. 3 rooms or 3 tents for each stage.
I use 3 1/2 gallon buckets in a 3 x3 . Just drill some holes and you've got pots for years to come. Started off in solo cups transplanted at 2- 3 weeks.
I go from coco coir clone plugs in a humidity dome to harden off in half pint containers. Then veg in one gallon pots. Cut a clone from the tops, then into 5 gallon fabric pots for the perpetual flower garden.
i start in solo cups with pretty inert barren stuff for a week or 2 until they look hungry then transplant with nutrient rich soil into a 1.75 gallon. i get about 3 weeks in the 1.75, then when hungry i up to a 4 gallon, then a 10. i get about 3 weeks per pot and it times out so they are close to ready just in time to flip to flower in the other tent as i harvest the last ones.
If you up-pot when appropriate, how does this work with my growdots as they are timed for your growth from the beginning. Do you have to add fresh grow dots to the new medium and insert the older medium? Wouldn't this extend the grow period?
Ive had experience growing about 20 years. My question is that I heard growing must be done with a black colored flower pot otherwise the roots can take light and the plant would fry. Is this true? Thanks in advance from Ohio
I want to say I'm growing auto flower in 3 gallon air pot using Grow dots backed by recharge. I just had to give my girls a little nitrogen in the beginning because as you know you're watering straight down but once I start watering out away for the plants 🪴 😊
1) Do root ball autopsies - then - think about 2) Container size is relative to how much ceiling do you have... with a 12' foot ceiling you need bigger pots - but is a grow tent you have a much shorter space. You want a container that will be about 85% to 95% root ball and air pruned. I suggest doing some root ball autopsies right after a harvest. Dump it upside down and cut it in half from top to bottom and inspect your root structure your growth media, is it depleted and all gray? does it smell healthy and like living soil? Also you get a feel for how a root ball for the best plants should look and you will see some of your results from a different perspective. Just do it right after harvest. don't wait too long for the roots to start to die. This can maximize harvest and minimize waste. in my test grow tent I have a 4 x 8 I grow 6 plants at a time and 1 of each decoy plants Cilantro and a dwarf fig plant for IPM (plus free figs). I get anywhere from 3 oz to 3+lbs per plant - the strains make all the difference. The G-13 made colas big as my thighs and blew my mind. Thai made nice spiraled but elegant, thin and beautiful colas. it really depends on what the genetic potential of the plant is and what your BRIX levels are.
What if your doing grow dots and recharge outdoors. What size bucket should you use is 5ga. Enough? I've always done right in the ground. But with first time grow dots I was going to put in a container. Also my baby I wanna do the best is tropicana cookies purple. It's a big yield. So I wanna get as big as possible
My current grow I started seeds in a 1L, 3 weeks I moved to a 3gal then into a 7 gal fabric pot and will finish in that. I vedge for a while 10 weeks total. Growing in a 5x5 so its not to cramped and fill out a 4x4 space. It works for me
5 gal fabric bags have been working great. I'm using coco loco and was wondering about ph and fertilizing. Same correct or should the ph be different when feeding? Fox farms leaves bad information about ph levels and it almost burned all my plants. They say 5.6 when it was supposed to be 6.3-6.5 and is with seashell additive. Why give people the wrong info of leave it out. Kinda sus Thanks for all the tips and help. Much appreciated. Cheers from California
I'm sort of a hands off, final home, less is more type of guy. I don't veg that long either though. I love 5 gal but ??????? lately + (right now) I have produced some beauties in 3-gal side by side my 5's. Might just be establishing a thang for me. 3 gal grow well in my 6 x 6's. You mentioned 4 gal,... that might just be that sweet spot for me also. Thanks for the share. I have been growing for a while but learn every day. I love this plant. 👴
good morning. I like the video you have. a lot of good information for a beginner like me. would like to know more of what you have to say. how long do I veg for and when do I flip them .do I keep my lights and fans on all night or how long.thank you for your time and information
I up potted with my 1st grow and haven't grown since due to area and other factors, gettin ready to start some autos outdoors which will be my 2nd grow. So I'm gonna go with seedings right into a 5 gal Buckets. I've just made that decision while typing and listening to this video

@@0619Octupi two 15 gallon fab pots 👌🏻
I used to up size pots, found it to be a pain ,but to be honest i've been changing things slightly every grow, trying different things to see what works best for what i want, then again i like the challenge of changing it up
I use 2 gallon fabric pots, growing f1 hybrid autoflowers to about 30" tall.
I like experimenting and trying new things!
Just seen videos that show the use of a double solo cup to allow roots to keep growing.

I've been a big fan of the DGC scotty good to see your short videos and sharing
I’m switching up constantly as a breeder, but once I understand the phenotype it’s 10 gallon fabric pots. Currently i’ve grown out 5/26 of my own cultivars and have been using 3 gallon fabric pots to get an idea for the lighting needed when I really grow one out for weight

1 gallon per month of growth. Vedge 21 days flower 65 days, or 12 weeks. 3 gallon.
I have for about ten years started my plant indoor in April then put it out close to June, into a 130 gallon pot. Gets to 8-9 ft round at flower
Hell yeah that's some horsepower!
Oh wow make sure to post some photos of them on Dudegrows.com
I go from a solo cup to a 4.5 gallon pot and just take it easy with watering to start with. I can normally flip to flower 3-3.5 week after transplanting
And once the plant gets to that size u like, bottom feed makes the roots draw to the source to drink and alternate n viceversa
Thanks for sharing.
Love all ur content scotty and hi c....some day I'll be on the show!!!
Rockwool into half gallon to 20 gallon
Lots of really great information as always ! I always hated growing in small pots or containers because of all the watering you have to do . If I grow in a container it has to be really large . hello I'm not in no pot I'm straight in the ground… and I always try to get my plants out the last two weeks of April… why so soon? I will keep it trimmed like this And I feed with my own organic teas that I blend together, one for veg and one for flour
Nutrient uptake is immediately I only do this after they bounce back from the topping and shaving the legs… they explode Then I feed the veg tea usually two or three times… after they bounce back from topping and shaving the legs I water in between feedings I have a 55 gallon drum that I fill up and let it dechlorinate… and run the pH down to 6.2 to 6.5-ish It's right beside my garden :-) in the middle of May and then in the middle of June of feed again, and then at the end of July I will feed of course at the same time in May, June and July I will be adding in silica blast because of the weather will start getting hotter sometimes beginning but normally at the end of June... I begin this immediately at the end of August that's when time starts to flip and will be feeding every other third week plumb into the first week of October flushing for the last three weeks up until harvest...😎 I am growing my own medical marijuana… I am in Oklahoma :-) I am 100% blind and love growing!🥰 and I found your show very informative I might think about using grow dots but only with my auto flower grow next time… For my auto flower run I use 7 gallon cloth pots… here are the strains I'm rocking and rolling this year one is (a wonderful smelling super super sticky extremely gassy frozen black cherry I recommend this girl extremely!!!) I ordered the seeds from Spain, next... from Canada, I got the seeds from Med Mann from here inside of UA-cam believe it or not…
You can find him at medman.com and the plants they was wonderful!!! running them again this year...... they were regular seeds but they still produced females!

Does the root system continue to grow during flower stage post-stretch or does root growth slow along with the stetching?
So 48 pounds a year.
i dig a hole outside and let the sun and weather dictate my veg and flower, watering and nutrients, makes for a healthier experience imo ✌️💚

As long as is is not to intense for the plants more light will indeed help.

I had some trouble with mold last year, this year I'm trying to gently use a leaf blower to remove excess water after too much rain.
yes size MATTERS
I'm growing in a small closet so I've only been using 3 gallon pots the last two plants that I grew I did it in 5 gal fabric containers and absolutely yes it does make a difference I doubled the size of the plants or better
Hell Yeah!
7 gallon felt pots so they are not too heavy. I bring them inside at night to prevent mildew here in the South.
They work well for me
Nice.
I went straight to 20 gallon trash can .
My record is 2.5 pounds on one plant but it was grown outside , so i'm going big inside
Thank You will will see what we can do.
I moved fron 18l to 25l and it makes a difference. I put my seedling straight into the pot it will live in forever. No re potting
There's a sweet point between both, mines between 2.5 gal and 4 gal, no need for more indoors, watering 2 times a week should be enough
this is all going to depend on the grow style and media.
Bigger roots, bigger fruits.
When I'm worried about height I use a smaller container
Fantastic job

I have a 3 tent system right now clones/seedling tent a veg tent and flower.. and the pot size kinda depends on the stage thier in. 🤔 solo cup 1 gall then depending on how much growth i get 3,5,15 or 20 gallon container 😅😊 for flowers 💐 🤔

@@dmo848Awesome. Mine is going as advertised look good and haven't added anything but water. May use some bloom tho.
I grow outdoor, but for autos, a 5 gallon bucket is a pretty good middle ground for movability to growth size
1st 4 weeks plant is vegging
Starts to flower day 35-40
Rule of thumb: 2 weeks or 4-10” in height = a robust root system and several nodes is a good sign before transplanting, making sure to avoid letting the tap root/roots hit the bottom of the cup. Letting the roots touch the bottom will forever hurt your crop, stunt the growth and significantly decrease overall yields.
Here’s a 2 for 1 tip on Autos, for LST/Pruning
-When leafs reach outside of solo cup or container, from here you got about
30 days to train your plants.
Then final 10/Gal gets topped & lollipoped
until it is ready to flower.
Depending on genetics growth habits/ceiling height and grow style.
Thanks for sharing.
Anytime, love sharing knowledge + being helpful👍🏼
great show , this one had good stuff, i sprouted my seeds in one gallon buckets under a 100 watts of T-5 light just transplanted into 6, 30 gallon buckets for back yard grow under a screen to protect from moths etc. i hate worms , half gallon is the smallest i pot use and 3 weeks later huge plant , seeds in smaller cups lag behind larger pots when it comes to seedlings,
5G fabric pot is gold. I’ve vegged for months and never an issue. Clone goes straight to 5G, I’m lazy is the main reason lol but it works great for me.
Side note, after harvest the entire pot is a sponge of roots and I recycle that back into my soil.
My homie swears by this method
Apparently using the roots is not a good idea.. it overloads the soil with nitrogen or iron or something. Will have to look it up again..

Interesting idea with the trash bags, watch out for excess humidity and moisture in the bags. The plants transpire during the dark cycle.

Many theories about starting in Solo then going 3 gal then into 5gal,7gal, or 10 gal.
Solo cup to 5 gallon fabric pot for Photos with a 5/6 week veg. Seed goes straight to 3 gallon fabric pot for autos.
I go from coco coir clone plugs in a humidity dome to harden off in half pint containers. Then veg in one gallon pots. Cut a clone from the tops, then into 5 gallon fabric pots for the perpetual flower garden.
i start in solo cups with pretty inert barren stuff for a week or 2 until they look hungry then transplant with nutrient rich soil into a 1.75 gallon. i get about 3 weeks in the 1.75, then when hungry i up to a 4 gallon, then a 10. i get about 3 weeks per pot and it times out so they are close to ready just in time to flip to flower in the other tent as i harvest the last ones.
awesome !!! I did the same except for the 10 gallon, in progress right now as I write this...

If you up-pot when appropriate, how does this work with my growdots as they are timed for your growth from the beginning. Do you have to add fresh grow dots to the new medium and insert the older medium? Wouldn't this extend the grow period?
4x 18liter Pot for 1m² is quite good for coco or hydro, can even add 1x 9liter as 5th into middle for overall shorter veg time to fill whole place

4 gallons tall or wide if space is no issue?
It works for me
Up potting autoflowers is easy and massively beneficial… grow the seedlings in 0.5L biodegradable fabric pots and then potup into a 30L pot.
Kinda sus
Thanks for all the tips and help. Much appreciated. Cheers from California
