Francesca and John's spark is honestly the sweetest thing I've seen in the series so far. because their chemistry is not a "oh I've got to have you right now" it's an "I feel comfortable just standing next to you being quiet". it speaks to the introvert inside me and I love it
Yess!! So loving and comfy
Same! I love them so much 😊
That autistic finding fellow autistic vibe ❤❤ They’re my favourite couple in the show so far. I hope we get more more focus on them in the second half (yes I know).
Her storyline gives me hope I may one day be able to find someone. 😊
She is the one I see myself in the most in Bridgerton so far.
Yes! It made me so happy. They’re so sweet.
Cressida gets her man snatched EVERY SEASON i swear 😂
😭😭
I KNOW! 😭
Seriously she does and all for nothing lol
I feel sad for her❤ it makes me want to forgive her for Daphne at least. That girl is playing games with the Dukes heart (but also, trying to secure her bag, which we've established we support in the show 😁)
She’s in her third season just like Penelope. They’re already looking at her like she’s past her prime (🙄) and it leaves her in a pretty desperate spot.
Absolutely embarassed to talk about how quickly i left my dissertation and clicked on this video😭
🏃🏽♂️💨
Ohh my Godddd 😂😂me too
Omg I am doing literally the exact thing. My disseration can wait :D
ME TOO
@@samirabouyachi4432Me too!!!!
In his journal Colin says that he is amazed by how intimate one can be with a person without feeling any connection. I think that’s why Penelope’s kiss has him feeling this way, because he finally felt something. Pen was defeated finally giving up on him after their kiss, meanwhile Colin was having a whole awakening.
Lolol exact opposite reactions
I love how everyone collectively agrees that the balloon scene is funny, absurd and awkward at the same time 😅 Still, I love this season so far.
Hahah yes!
Seriously! I have heard that Austin Powers reference before as well but I love that the scene was edited and added to this reaction. I have seen a couple of clips that have cracked me up on tiktok as well.
@@lucentaunisage Yeees, I laughed so much during this video 😅
It’s so cringe
It’s so cheesy but I love it because of all the character dynamics that are going on.
I think an under-discussed element of “why didn’t Colin notice Pen before” is the age gap. Granted it’s only about three or four years, but when you’re a kid, as they were when they met, it’s a much bigger difference. Like I’d imagine 14 year old Colin wasn’t thinking about 10 year old Pen in that way, especially if she’s always paling around with his little sister. That’s quite a jump to make when that’s your introduction 🤷♀️
Yeah, I think Luke Newton himself confirmed that Colin is supposed to be 22/23 this season and Pen 19/20 so I’m also really surprised that people don’t consider this element to their relationship
Oh snap you’re right!
@@notevenfunny_ she's considered a spinster at 19 😭😭
Totally agree with this. Most wouldn't be looking at their little sister's best friend like that! Not at that age, anyway. It probably didn't even register as an option until it was staring him straight in the face haha.
@@niy._. Yeah, the regency world is brutal😭😭😭 I think she’s especially considered a spinster when Cressida is not is because she’s never had prospects, we’ve seen men taking up interest in Cressida (the Prince etc.), but not Penelope.
I loooooove that Colin would constantly use the word "friend" when talking about Pen and now everyone ELSE is saying it back to him and he' is NOT with that anymore, lol! And a detail I noticed: Whenever the "real" Colin comes out or is present, he wears the signature Bridgerton blue (ie, the last ballroom scene). But when he tries to hide himself, he wears a different darker color like brown (ie, the vest at breakfast post-dream).
Pen lowkey used that kiss as a kind of "ok, I got my kiss which will probably never happen again but fine, I gotta focus on getting a practical match and no longer on you" and for Colin, it was a total REAWAKENING!
Lolol I guess he never fantasizes about kissing his friends 😄
wait the color of Colin's clothes thing is so cool! Plus it makes the fact that his vest in the balloon scene is brown with blue stripes super interesting, bc he's talking to his friends and trying to be cool but also completely mesmerized by Penelope the whole time
@@forgemakesstuff2734 i rewatched some clips to make sure I wasn't outta my mind and here are some other examples:
1) ep 2: when they're in the drawing room at their 1st "lesson" Colin isn't wearing ANYTHING dark. Just that silvery blue.
2) ep 2: post-brothel at the market he had his brown coat & at least the light blue cravat= talked about how overseas he could be the "real" him (bs of course) but then fondly talks about their first meeting.
Nighttime scenes are frustrating because everything looks dark but in the daytime, I think the pattern is there :)
Edit: I focused on Pen's dresses and in scenes where she has a focused interaction with Colin, its always some pastel green (yellow+blue) & when she talks to Debling or Colin isn't there, its a different color.
I love reading about costume symbolism!
I lived for that wordless conversation between Eloise and Pen when Cressida starts talking about the bird, I’m so glad Benji pointed it out 😁 Such a “tell me you’re besties without telling me you’re besties” moment.
They know each other too well 🤪
It was such a "seriously?" "I know" moment.
Eloise's look screened "I know!!! But I was given my lines!" And she's shown she's a faithful friend, even if she disagrees
13:11 bisexuality hitting hard for me 🫣 damn she’s sexy.
Fun facts about the Featherington sisters:
The actress who plays Phillipa has been dating Benedict's actor in real life for the last 3-4 years.
The actress who plays Prudence is the daughter of the actress who plays Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Butler in Downton Abbey.
And just moved in with the actor who plays Lord Debney! Prudence's actress that is.
Woah! This show’s a romance making machine for the actors 💌
That's wild, I didn't even know that Imelda Staunton and Jim Carter were married... 🥰
Phillipa is actually dating Perry Fitzpatrick they attended the BAFTAs 2024 and the Bridgerton NY premiere together
Yeah I’m also pretty sure Harriet is dating Perry Fitzpatrick. He flew to New York just to attend the premier with her. I think that speaks volumes. Not sure what’s happening with her and Luke. Probably just close friends, it seems like.
6:37 its funny you say this bc I genuinely classify Frannie and John as the definition of "Me and the bad bitch I pulled by being autistic" 😂
🙌🙌
I love the fact that once he got the advice from his mom he was ready to act on it right away and ask Penelope but got nervous and debling stepped in. I found it really sweet that when it came down to it he panicked. I don’t know if you guys noticed earlier when he was talking to the girl and told them to have courage and saw Penelope , the music goes quiet and you can hear his heartbeat in the background .
Oh I noticed almost all of that EXCEPT the heartbeat 🫀
i think it is just their life is so uneventful that a balloon slowly moving away was considered a disaster 😅
😂😂
I feel like it's both this and that the balloon was "innovative new technology" so they're all just like "we don't know what this balloon could do!"

@@PinkPopcast I think the first car accident where someone died happened at a speed of about 10kph? (I don't know what that is in miles, but it's sloooooooow) 💀
And cars were invented decades after the Regency era, so you know what, I'll forgive the ridiculous snail's pace almost-accident of that damn balloon 😂😂
Rizzo, stop finishing Colin’s romantic dialogue or a swear to god I’m gonna fall in love with you
🤷🏽♂️🫶🏽
Gonna?!
Ha I know a New Girl reference when I see it 😂👀
The baloon part, I think actually Penelope could have escape from it but as Nicola Coughlan said "In Bridgerton horny is more importain than dead" 😂 Penelope just being horny by seeing Colin pull that rope 😂😂
🤣🤣
My girl froze. Whether it was because of the fear of the balloon or....because of..Colin, we may never know.
"including my horse!" ❤
It's hard to not be in love with Nicola!
The should of edit the balloon scene better by have dramatic shots of colins muscles and a shot on pen intranced and the sound fading to her heart beat or something. So that eveyone not like girl y just standing there MOVE
obsessed with Colin’s awkwardness around Pen, truly letting down his facade, and the willow tree scene so good, “I was going to say no but why are you saying no” lol
😂😂
Oh that scene was soooo good!! And he played it so well! I wish Colin's awkward phase lasted longer.
After 2 seasons where the male lead tries refuse his romantic feelings, it's really fun to see that dynamic flip. Love hits Colin like a truck, but he never questions his feelings or denies it (at least not to himself). The only thing he questions is whether or not it's reciprocated. He's just sitting in the corner twirling his hair and thinking,"I know Pen likes me, but does she like me like me?"
And I think the only reason he chickens out at the end is because he thinks Pen is into this other guy and he doesn't want to mess things up for her or their friendship like he did last season.
He should’ve bought her some flowers lol
exactly my thoughts. I'm a sucker for men turning into mush the moment they fall in love Dx ♥
It is so funny that Colin has always said they were friends. Now everyone else is saying it, and it kills him. He is so gone and love sick. Jealous Colin is amusing to watch.
🤢
Lolol😄
“Agreeable looking”, Benji is speaking like he is from the universe and I am all for it, get that bag
I’m fully immersed 😄
It's giving pride and prejudice lol
everyone seems so obsessed with debling, but to me he is the opposite of what i like in men of that period (whether we are talking about bridgerton or jane austen, for instance). he is choosing a wife like he's at a market choosing which horse he'd like to buy next based on a set amount of criteria. penelope talks to him and is amusing, so he is interested in her, but suddenly cressida strides in with a comment about his favourite bird and he's completely disregarding penelope, then penelope once again impresses him by being genuine and he flips cressida off and gives penelope her lemonade, like??? has *he* actually *done* anything to impress these ladies? to seem likeable to them? no. both of the girls are in horrific situations, desperate to be married, having quite literally no other options at the time, so they have no other choice but to perform for him, and he is sitting back, like "go ahead, the one who impresses me more wins". like, ew.
the only reason i hope he ends up with cressida is because she does not seem to be looking for love, but is in desperate need of a husband, and she will be left to her own devices most of the time since he will be away constantly. penelope, though, certainly deserves better than someone who loses interest in her quicker than a child with no object permanence, who was just given a new shiny toy and forgot the old one even exists.
This 👆🏽all of this 👆🏽
- Rizzo
to me i don't think he's perfect or anything but i feel he's rather realistic for what was considered a "good" man at the time. many many many men were abusive and also constantly with their wives, so many women (at the time) would've loved to have a relationship like this where they just have their privacy and hobbies and their husband is off doing whatever. i'm sure many women might have also dreamed about love, but it just wasn't realistic at the time, so someone who allows you some alone time in a patriarchal society (and it seems, no forcing you to have children) was considered great. again, he's not considered incredible by today's standards, but back then women did what they could etc.
GO OFF, OP! Preach 🙌
@@kairosvt3000. Most marriges would give a person alone time. A lot of couples didn't even live in the same house and most matches were about economical transactions. So while husbands and wives didn't necessarily love each other, they're lives were mostly ok. And most would 100% have alone time. Except for once a month when trying to concive.
And if you think Debling wasn't making Pen have his children, you're crazy. He is a lord, if he didn't want children, he wouldn't marry. He was fully expecting to return to a 3yo when back from his travel.
@@Ana_Paula.Frasson please don't call people that you simply may disagree with crazy, it's a very stigmatized word. and yes, many people lived in different rooms but they would still interact often. and sex once (or more) a month with someone you don't like is worse than 3 years never seeing them at all. as i said before, i'm not saying he's incredible. just that in the realistic situation (that you pointed out), many women would have preferred the situation that he proposed. hope this makes sense!
I know i can’t be the only one that sees Francesca as autism coded, like shifting/ limited eye contact, sensory overload, fixation about a singular practice that brings her simple comfort. I just see it so much I’m convinced
Nope we definitely have some good autism representation this season

Same hahaha
I like that both Cressida and Lord Deblin dislike and want to escape their families.
What else are you supposed to do with family issues if not bond over them?
They also seem to want similar things, not necessarily looking for romance as much as for stability and support from their partners.
They might actually make a decent match.
Twinns
I genuinely hope they end up together because then maybe she’ll stop being mean to/sabotaging Penelope
I really just want to know what was going through Penelope's head when Colin came up to her at the end of the episode. That must have been so confusing. Safe to say though that chaos Colin has now entered the chat.
🫣
I like that Penn gave him like a moment to speak before taking Lord Deblin's hand to dance, but he didn't, so she moved on.
@@roxirock5455absolutely
i think cressida was actually genuinely finding lord debling's experiences with his family and need to get away from it all very relatable in 14:00 . probably because how her own family is, it wouldn't be a surprise if she's a mean girl as a result of her toxic environment at home. Not defending her actions, but saying.
I don’t blame her! She didn’t grow up with Twitter or the internet to tell her she’s being a c**t. She grew up in a time period where women are discarded and treated like cattle (not everyone has a mother as loving as Violet Bridgerton) so again, I don’t blame her for how she learned to cope - she should just try a different tactic lolol

😂😂
I read somewhere that Colin pulling the rope for the balloon is supposed to equate to Anthony fallen into & getting outta the water in season 2…they’re not the same 😅 🫠 no offense whatsoever to Mr.Newton, but uh…I don’t think the scenes have the same effect
Colin is so channeling Hugh Grant in that scene under the tree.
🤡
Haha I feel it
Totally. Not only in this episode, actually. His rom-com persona is very Grant-inspired.
That Austin Powers steamroller clip was literally the first thing I thought of with the hot air balloon scene 😂
I know I know she was apparently distracted by Colin’s beauty but STILL, it was goofy AF 🥴
Ah, me too! The pacing was too sluggish and came of comical. :D
That, followed by " they jump the shark"
PLEASE do a rewatch of Austin Powers, guys!! Not sure if it aged well but lets find out 😂
Fun Fact! During the opening title, the pen starts everything off by writing the name of the Bridgerton that will be the main couple of the season. In season one, the pen wrote Daphne, in season two it was Anthony, and in this season it's Colin. I thought that was cool!
Ooo I’ll keep an eye out for that next time thank you so much ☺️
@@PinkPopcastthe original opening of each season also has easter eggs for each season. Can’t remember the first 2 seasons but Season 3’s has a writing pages, piano keys, the balloon, and carriage. Someone made an edit of all 3 stacked, but I can’t find it.
@@AuthorZaraHoffmanI noticed for season two they put the beehive and the bench I believe, there’s probably more though lol
@@JadedCountess true! I think they also did Pall Mall for season 2 with the wickets now that I think about it
If his mother raised him saying the best foundation is friendship…why wasn’t he aware of pen as romantic interest? A) he was caught up in doing as his big brothers did and thought was the right way to be, that he didn’t even pay thought to Penelope romantically bc that wasn’t the way. Now though upon having kissed her and now loosing her he is finally getting it that his brothers way isn’t the only way! He’s a third born with same sex older siblings it makes sense to me as also a third born with same sex older siblings.
You don’t have to convince me! 🙃
I don’t think Violet has been raising him to believe that the best foundation for love is friendship. That line is supposed to be a callback to season 1 when she tells Daphne that love can blossom from her friendship with Simon. Colin is just in the room and he obviously heard it and now that he’s gotten feelings for Penelope, he’s realizing the importance of her words. Violet tells him how rare it is that both parties develop love from friendship, that her and her husband were the exception if you will, so why would she be raising them believe that that’s the way to love. Most relationships start with an initial attraction and the friendship develops as you explore that attraction and fall in love, like Anthony and Kate.
Did I just so happen to get lucky to open youtube 43 seconds after you posted? yes. Does that mean it's my lucky day? we're going to find out.

23:28 wouldn’t it be funny if Lady Danbury did the horizontal dance with V’s father and now Violet would do it with Danbury’s brother?
Hahah seems to be going that way
I think it’s not just that Penelope is much younger than Colin, and that their friendship developed very slowly for a long time, but that people often overlook just how bad Colin’s relationship history is. It’s not just that he wasn’t looking at Penelope, he wasn’t looking at anyone, because he swore off love entirely after Marina broke his heart. He found out on his wedding day that she never loved him, that would mess anybody up. I think it makes sense that it took him this long because he needed time. edit: also i loved your pride and prejudice reaction, please do emma (2020) next! :)

Another Bridgeton reaction in the same week! What a treat 🍰
We’ve been editing all week 😅😮💨
I felt the exact same way about that ballon scene. So many things about that scene felt exaggerated and avoidable, just goofy😅 But I guess I got a good laugh from it, and it did what it needed to do story wise.
Haha goofy! Ask Story wise it’s mid 😂
That analogy of a rope sliding through Colins hands was so good! I loved how you can see how much Colin is realizing in that one look alone. Its really refreshing to see a man longing for a woman in a way thats genuine and not made to be overly "manly" hes just longing for Pen like a person if that makes sense? I guess its just how we wish someone would romantically long for us. It makes sense for his character too, hes more in touch with his emotions than his brothers, other than him not realizing he loved Pen lol. It honestly is a very demiromantic vibe haha having a close intimate bond with someone and then bam slapped with OH MY GAWD after a kiss one day and your entire life was a lie bc you in love big time 🤣 🤣 Also that inserted clip of Rizzo continuing to argue was too funny 😂 im so excitedddd for the next episode, its gonna be so lit!!

also, and I've said this before but i feel like it should be mentioned, you had some questions about Francesca, so I'll copy-paste it here for ya.
- Francesca is, through fans and some publications, thought to have autism and therefore be neruodivergent. Nobody from the show has said anything about it, but as the show is known to be very inclusive, and we see in ep1 a girl and her mom use Bristish Sign Language *like Benji and Rizzo mentioned* , and in ep2 a guy in a wheelchair, it would fit right in to have a neurodivirgent character. *I'm, myself, diagnosed with autism* (late diagnosis, 'high performing', and all about those small details that's usually overlooked when you otherwise seem 'normal') and, though it didn't register with me at first, when I rewatched the first 4 episodes, there are definitely traits I can recognize. She feels overwhelmed with her big and loud family even though she's used to them. She enjoys and prefer silence even when in company. She is very observant of other people before trying to be socially part of a group. She expected conversation when on the _marriage mart_ but not to "be inspected" as she says - so she knew logically it was part of how the system worked, but didn't think how it would be when she herself was part of it. Her mindset for finding a husband and a marriage is based on his morals, "being kind" she says, and otherwise she's very pragmatic and logical about what she wants and is looking for. She is uncomfortable in big gatherings, and especially when the focus is on her. She is hyperfocused on _the piano forte_ and music to the details most others aren't, and when she's talking about it she has a hard time knowing when to stop and how direct and honest it's 'acceptable' to be. She has a hard time being social with people she doesn't feel like she knows what to expect from. And she feels a really intense and intimate connection with people who *gets* her and her way of thoughts. I'm not saying this is enough to totally convince me of it, but there are definitely traits there, and it depends on how the show continues to showcase her.
“Well he’s looking at her now” 💀 instant like 😂
In Queen Charlotte Lady Danbury said something along the lines of "My children have done me the favor of moving far far away" I don't think she likes ANY of her family. She said "Fuck them kids" 😂
😂😂😭
Yeah it's part of the character. She likes her grandson Gareth in the seventh book. Her kids however.. she's not really a fan of them😅
I mean... Considering what she had to endure for so many years... Yeah I can't quite blame her for being less, maternal than others
Fun fact the dance scene with lady Tilly and Benedict it subtly shifts to her taking lead, switching the roles and power dynamic
Between Lord Debling and Francesca, I've been pleasantly surprised by this season's autism rep.
Right🙌
Yes!
I didn’t even realize Lord Debling could be on the spectrum. Then I thought maybe he is. He is obsessed with a few things like Francesca is with the piano.
So invested in Violet getting back to the dating scene
The fact Eloise is able to appologise to Pen is a testament to her finally growing. Pen let her to drown after the Queen threatened her to her face, twice. But Eloise was always a selfish friend too. I like that they don't kiss and make up immediately because its not like they didnt have legitimate grievances.
And Cressida took the time to read up on the interests of the man she's after. She's still a meanie but I hope she wins 🤷🏽♀️
Lol like we say girl get yo bag, I think they all have to be a little selfish in this world
She read up, but yet can’t seem to retain the information of the name of the actual bird. 🐦 she did a shit job studying 📚
i don’t know if you guys noticed but benedict and lady tilley actually switched roles in the dance, she did the mens part and he did the womans
Ooh hot lol
Omg I didn't know that
I love that dance because of that so much, it was so cool to see! Made me invested in Lady T and Ben's relationship and what her impact on him will be
Apparently the reason Pen stood there so long was cause she was staring at Colin holding the balloon 😂 she still could’ve moved a bit sooner
Right? 😂
"1 min ago" heck yes, perfect timing

Challenge accepted. 70 hot air balloon fatalities since 1965 in the USA.
Thank you!
Also so everyone keeps saying this season seems weird and I honestly think it has something to use with the breaking up the season.
If it was an all in one binge, we’d be fine. It was a once a week I think we’d be fine but to do four here and then four there and the way had to divide the season and storylines imo is the reason for this weirdness because I think this is the best season out of the main 3.
Claudia Jessie said it best that part 1 is friends and part 2 is lovers.
Also screw the writer of that vile article calling Nicola/penelope too fat to able to catch a 10 like Colin/Luke. It’s as if they didn’t watch the show and Nicola is so stunning! You’d think we’d be past this fat shaming rhetoric.
You’d think they would have watched all the friggin interviews where Luke clearly adores and loves being around her. She’s gorgeous regardless and we should DEFINITELY be passed that 😤
I agree. I came out of the first part sobbing, but once I'd stopped I felt like overall something was missing. I thought it was really strange considering I loved every single storyline, & Colin/Penelope are my favourite. Took me a bit of time to work out that it was the Part 1/Part 2 bs. Hopefully once Part 2 comes out and is able to be watched altogether, the weirdness will disappear and we'll just be treated to a beautiful season!
@@KitAE0 that is legit the same thing with me. I watched part 1 four times the first day and loved it but then heard people say that it seemed weird. And I was thinking about it because I changed my Netflix to the cheapest plan with ads before the season started and Netflix was not built for commercials (which I ended up changing back 2 days laters)
A show like bridgerton isn’t made for an intermission, it’s made to be binged. So by breaking up the viewing experience that was originally planned something gets lost in translation.
Editor Rizzo appearance made me laugh until my stomach hurt. It was the best I've felt in a whole week 😂
Thank you 😊
(And I totally agree)
🫡🤗
Sometime I worry that this show will get 8 seasons and almost none of the older siblings actors will return for Gregory and Hyacinth
😭😭😭
The balloon scene was fun but ridiculous bc they didn’t use it to really drive the narrative. Colin saved her but had he saved her then gone over to her after the balloon took off and she had both lord Debling and Colin trying to help her it would’ve given Debling an inkling of Colin’s affection for her and created a bit more of a love triangle dynamic.
I’m not sure why Colin was expected to figure out his feelings sooner. As he said him and Pen met when they were children. They essentially grew up together. If he met her when say he was 14 and she was 10 he would see her like one of his siblings not as a romantic option. He watched out for her, danced with her at balls and wrote to her when he traveled. To me it makes sense that now that she is carrying herself more like a woman and they had that kiss it actually sparked something for him to see her in a different light.
I appreciate that he didn’t know pen had feelings for him. Colin was clueless so this attraction now had him questioning everything. He’s the one worried she won’t reciprocate his feelings.
I'm sorry, but friends just don't look at and talk about other friends the way Colin does with Penn.
Like, I can understand why she got the wrong idea 2 times.
Also, it probably has to do with the way Penn put him on a pedestal for most of her life so it took her stop trying for him to realize, sh:t, I like being Penn's 1 priority and that's not a given?
Also can't really blame Penn for that, Colin was hardly mature himself.
I definitely don’t blame Colin for not realizing sooner and those are good points about using the scene narratively.
literally every scene Benedict has been wondering off I kept saying, "Is he going to meet Sophie now?! No? Damn!" "Is this lady Sophie? No she's too old. oh no she said she was married before I really hope that's not Sophie's step mom, oh good it isn't."edit: also me knowing what Francesca's story is and them introducing Kilmartin I'm getting sad
👀
I'm convinced we are meeting Sophie this season, just probably like the last episode.
@@__twoshoes I figured that's what was going to happen but I was just excited 😆
Benedict is my favorite male character in the show & books. I will revolt if he doesn't get his own season!
I’ve seen alot of headcanons online & i agree with them also that Francesca seems to be very neurodivergent coded which goes along with the other characters we’ve seen this season too like the deaf mom & daughter in episode 1. I hope they lean into it more in Part 2 bc we dont get enough of that in romance genre let alone in historical/period pieces.
We’d definitely love to see more there ❤️
Hello! As someone who works in the medical field (non-clinical though), that basket probably weighs a few hundred pounds. Even a light tap to the head with that amount of weight could cause a serious to moderate injury. Other parts of the body, probably a light to moderate injury.
Thank you 😅 if only she had time to move 😂
@PinkPopcast perhaps she was struck by Colin's manly arms wrenching away at the rope and didn't realize she should move until it was too late? ..... yeah... I know I'm reaching......
@@keilatenshi5910actually you’re not reaching as Nicola herself confirmed this theory in the comment section of a fan’s video (that Penelope was too…taken up by Colin and his muscles to notice that a balloon moved to her.)
Safe to say I’ll be avoiding this hot air balloon scene like I avoid the season 2 wedding scene
@@notevenfunny_ Ahhh! I'm so happy! Thank you!
I've been so excited for this reaction! Loved every second of it!! One thing i love about this season is how they are portraying Eloise and Pen, the struggle of feeling betrayed but still feeling that love for your friend. It's a hard place to be, and i adore how that love and friendship is still shown even though they aren't on good terms.❤
Yeah I love that 🥰
Things you guys need to react to:
1) Fleabag
2) The summer I turned pretty
3) Flipped
4) Anne with an E
5) Little Women (2019)
6) LadyBird
7) Maxton Hall (!!)
I'll add more once I have more in mind.
Colin pulling those ropes prevented any accident. He was really quick with it. I don't know what the hell lord veggie was doing.😂
He was guarding his woman!😄
His woman or potential house keeper 😏
@@PinkPopcasthe was giving her a hug
If balloon would be closer it would hit them both and penelope first
Debling saw his moment and was like "yes i will lay with you here"
🤣"Lord Veggie!
I would have kicked him off if I was pen. Like get off me dude wth you playin at 😂
Okay, maybe I'm in the minority here, but to me the balloon scene isn't as silly as many people make it out to be... Yes, it's moving slowly, but it is also incredibly heavy. The danger isn't that anyone would be killed, but that someone could be severely injured. There are several things to consider here:
1) Pen doesn't run with the others because she is rooted to the spot by fear, and then also becomes distracted by Colin. When she finally does move she trips and all she can see is this giant wooden structure coming towards her and she can't get out of the way fast enough, and she is paralysed by fear.
2) Despite its slow speed, something like that hitting you would still be incredibly painful. Had she been stood up when it hit her, she would have been knocked straight to the ground and would have had several nasty bruises, and perhaps even a concussion depending on how she hit her head. Being on the floor as she was, the impact would have been only slightly less, but she still would have a great deal of bruising, and if it had dropped on her it would have crushed her. Then, it could also have tipped over and she and the blankets and grass would be covered in the oil used to create the fire and she could have been set alight. So there are many dangers there.
3) The way both men reacted shows a lot about their character. Colin saw the balloon headed straight to Pen (and his sister) and immediately lept into action to try to slow it down and called upon others to help. When Debling saw the danger, his response was to run. He didn't try to help any of the three women he was with and only looked back when he was out of danger. Now, we can't always control our flight or fight response, so I don't blame him for running, and he did go back for Pen with the intention of shielding her with his body and taking the brunt of the impact, which is quite chivalrous. But when compared with Colin's immediate action... it pales a bit imo.
I appreciate that perspective but I feel like they might have done a better job conveying the danger cause it just seemed like the stakes weren’t very high
@@PinkPopcast to be fair, i don't think the stakes were supposed to be high. It was obvious the danger wasn't life-threatening, no one was going to die, but the fact that someone could be hurt - that Penelope could be hurt - is what we're supposed to focus on here. Colin is only just now realising the depths of his feelings for Penelope, and then suddenly she's in a situation where she could be injured and his only thought is to save her. We're not supposed to fear for Pen's life, but to see the panic and fear on Colin's face when he saw she could be hurt.
1:37 yeah I heard her in an interview saying that she was looking forward to her season to be more of her flirty natural self lol
😘
The ‘that was him watching his balloon float away 🎈’ comment was underrated. It ties this episode up perfectly lol
🙌🙌
My theorie is that Lady Danbury resents her brother because after their parents died he, as the new lord of the house, might have had the opportunity to break the match between her and her husband and he didn't.
He thought that they would grow to love each other like him and his wife, but that was not the case and she has not forgiven him since.
😭
Haven’t slept in two days cause of exams, just layed down and yet I’ve happily delayed my sleep to watch you two beautiful humans 🤍
🧟♀️
SPOILER WARNING FOR BRIDGERTON BOOKS: I’ve honestly found a lot of Lady Danbury’s plot lines recently kind of confusing. In the books her grandson ends up with Hyacinth. So her having an affair with Hyacinth’s grandfather and Violet potentially getting together with her brother is a few too many links between two family trees then I’m personally comfortable with 😂
🤡
Could you mark your comment as a (book) spoiler for future seasons? Maybe it will protect future comment readers 🥲
@@fuzzyapple i’m so sorry, should have thought of that
Cheese couple RANKS as one of my favourite couples that just straight up doesn't exist in the books. And god the way my heart jumped into my throat when the balloon thing was headed towards Penelope I was SO SURE they were gunna dump her in the lake and embarrass her in front of everyone again after that agonizing grass conversation: my heart wouldn't have been able to take it.
Glad they didn’t embarrass Pen
13:32 one of the most underestimated moments of this episode 😂 I love the way Eloise takes away Cressida's fan landlord Debling brings up balloons instead of birds😅😄 that actress does great voice and face acting
That's why Eloise and Benedict scenes are always the best...those 2 and their facial impressions are everything 😊
14:43 her face says are you fucking serious?
Best pair of reactions in the episode
They never got back to Benedict finding out Anthony bought his way into art school. He packed up his art kit at the end of season 2 after finding out. They have yet to circle back to it. I still wonder where Daphne’s necklace went
So many unfinished stories lol
He tells Anthony that he is leaving art school. It's there in the last episode of season 2 I think
In Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury states that her children were scattered around the world. ❤
🗺️🌍
10:35 The sleeves are the only thing saving the dress actually
They’d save her too if she ever fell out of a plane ✈️
I'm glad you talked about that stare at the end. It was really good acting by Luke Newton, his eyes were saying everything and even teary. I don't really like how Lord Debling is picking a wife. It's calculated.
I’m pretty sure Lord Debling is picking the way that everybody else in the tom who isnt a Bridgerton picks 😄
Picking a life partner should be calculated.
@@PinkPopcast Sure, but not as a simple foreman. lol
That Austin Powers joke was literally the first thing I thought of watching the Penelope/balloon scene 🤣🤣 I’m glad someone finally said it!
Yess! 😂😂
13:16 I feel like Nicola would be laughing her ass off from this scene
🎂
The actor playing Lady Danbury's brother had played Dr. Facilier in Once Upon a Time.
Benedict's new interest is Hannah New from one of the best TV shows ever - Black Sails. You two need to see that.
I only watch Bridgeton through their reactions and had no idea Hannah was in this, so just now jaw dropped went, Eleanor! Black Sails! I would LOVE for them to watch Black Sails if they haven't already. Such a high quality show! And queer too 😌
Okay so the Bridgerton’s are starting to build an alliance block of noble families. The Bridgertons, Hastings, Danburys, and Mondrichs all seem like they would support each other through scandal. If Colin and Pen marry and have the first son they might be able to add the Featheringtons.
Cressida talking about predators in front of the 🦌 head with poor Debling had me thinking of Ace Ventura 2 "This is a lovely room of death! Take care now! Bye bye then!"
🤣
Lol, I loved you guys taking a turn around the room at the very end! 😂
Rizzo is honestly all of us with wanting kate and Anthony 😂😂
🙌
The battle over "friendship" is hilarious. 😂
i feel like some people miss the fact that colin is already in love with pen (we see it clearly in s2) they already have the mental attraction because they’re friends and they care about what each other thinks … the kiss didn’t make him fall in love but realise that the physical romantic attraction that he was searching in his adventures was already there … i don’t understand where is the problem that pen fell in love immediately when they met and him after, if this was a stranger to lovers trope there was no problem but because it’s friends people wants everything immediately 😭 colin is a silly dumb baby and penelope never openly expressed her feelings for him, how could he know that she was in love? (sorry for my English 😬) i love you Rizzo!!
I agree.
I had been friends with my first husband for years, then an unexpected wtf kiss happened and it surprised me. Then within the next two weeks I realized I loved him. I was attracted to him. I had just put hi. In a certain box an closed my mind on that.
He'd apparently loved me all along and other people knew but I was clueless.
So I can see the trope playing out realistically for me.
Especially, in a time when I like the way your neck curves or your super hot ankles was enough to snag a proposal.
I always love your reactions. And can I say, that I never felt like the edits needed to be cut back on. The edits are one of the reasons I always come back because it adds a unique sense of humor to it.
Thank you 🥰
Editor Rizzo, thinking of a comeback several hours after filming the reaction: This calls for some ✨️Movie Magic✨️
Bahahah
I loved this reaction and clicked so fast on this video when it came out, and the explanation of the rope slipping away from Colins hands, when he loses Penelope is such an amazing explanation
Yeah, that analogy turned out well 😄
To be completely fair, Penelope would be clobbered even by a slow moving HOT AIR BALLOON bc it would just crush her, not bc it would knock her out quickly lol
But it’s not rolling it’s floating so i feel like it wouldn’t crush her… also she just needed to take 3 steps to the side, and she had like 5 whole minutes to do it 🤷♂️
The Austin Power's reference was *chef's kiss* I've never watched the first season (probably never will) and also will never watch the 3rd season, but I'm here for your reactions from your re-upload from the 2nd season... Beees *shoooots all the bees *
Downloading this to watch on my flight tomorrow your bridgerton reactions are the one thing that will keep me awake at 4 in the morning 😭
Safe travels 🥳
Editing Rizzo chiming in…. 🤣 Love when Benji pushes his buttons. Reminds me of the wicked witch/glinda argument….”she wore a crown and came down in a bubble… grow up!” 😊
😂😂 omg so true
As an autistic animal lover who LOVES nature and solitude, Lord Debling is like my dream guy.
Gurl get your bag!!!
“What do I shout at the tv for you?” 🤣
And editing Rizzo ❤ that was hilarious. Also that ending scene of Colin letting the rope slip through his fingers 😂 good one guys. Really looking forward to your next reaction
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😄
The editor Rizzo is definitely one of my favorite Rizzos 29:16 hahahahaha
😂
1:38 i remember that interview
They were doing a 🔥 scene and the director yelled cut but they didnt hear them and kept going 😂😂
🥵
🔥🔥🔥
Alice: “you are in your element, my love.”
Rizzo: “please stay there” 😬
Me: “amen”
I DIED when yall added the Austin Powers clip. This is actually my ghost commenting.
So from my understanding, Lady Danbury & her Brother had a rough past with him being part of the reason why she was forced to marry her late abusive husband. She tried to run away before she was wed off but he caught her and told their father. As far as the other attachment with lady Danbury and the Bridgertons is that after her husband died, Lady D had a secret affair with Violet’s father, Lord Ledger. Violet discovers this secret during Queen Charlotte.
I can’t believe we have to wait so long for part 2. As much as I’m going to miss the whole romcom theme of part 1, I am really looking forward to more drama and the angst in the second part. Plus more spicy scenes 🤌😌
The balloon scene reason is that Pen gets over thirsty over Colin and that is why she doesn't move until balloon comes closer to her because she is watching Colin pulling the robe and being hot and she is watching his sexy hero moment and be like damn he is hot I am not over him like Kate had that moment when Anthony was in the lake in s2, also that scene for Luke is the hardest one to shoot because I think he says he was really pulling that robe and it got really close to Nicola in first rehearse and they said God this is really dangerous and Luke Thompson who plays Benedict got his pants ripped off in every three takes, another detail for the last ball scene in this episode is that when you look closely you can see Violet is watching Colin and Pen and Colin is getting really close to her, it was Ruth Gemmel's idea who plays Violet Bridgerton and ahe talked about it to the director and they shot that moment like that, also if you look closely you can see that Colin is saying I LOVE YOU through his breath in a silent way to Pen right before Debbling approaches to them and also after Debbling's approach Colin is saying it AGAİN in a silent way, just look at his lips movement and you will see it, there are so many details in this season that can be missed in the first watch and that is why I am going to watch it several times to see every detail, thank you guys for your reactions, they are very good💞✨🌸🐝🦋
“I need a heroooooo” 🧚♂️
Hot air ballon’s actually weigh around 800 pounds not inflated, but once it’s inflated and in the air it would weigh about 2 and 1/2 tons so she would be hurt quite a bit if it got to her
