I'm not gonna start with the graphics first...so here's the graphics XD Quality
It's a nice basis for a game, but completely lacks content atm beyond the initial survival and building up your ship.
I played it to day 220, but i got bored around day 150 because it's so repetitive without any real content.
Yeh, they got the ship building and survival mechanics down, but needs some stuff to do in hte end game. Needs that random event stuff from FTL. FTL was great at this, because even if you got to see all the events eventually (pun not intended, ok maybe just a little), you still had a LOT of them and the mixing and matching between start system hazards and random NPC events was great fun. This game needs a bit of that, system events, anomalies to analyze, trading, random NPC events and so on.
It's a good start, but needs a lot more content.
Between the stars is an ok space game. This looks like Spacebase DF-9; let's hope they actually finish the game unlike the latter.
These guys have a good track record releasing 2 previous, solid games. Especially the 2nd one. My hopes that this will get properly finished (unlike DF-9) are quite high.
They are Finnish which usually means they will finish it. Even if there was one member of dev team left he would work on it until he drops. Because that is how Finnish mentality works. 😅

Same. I’m not a PC master race gamer, I’m a dirty low life console user (mainly PS4) but I enjoy the reviews even if I’ll never play the game or have interest in the genre being reviewed. Whatever the video is I know it’ll be top notch entertainment. Saying that sometimes something will be on console. (Had to edit, noticed I said PS5 by mistake, getting ahead of myself there!)
I have watched all his videos and some even several times. It's just pure entertainment and fun.
Why not have the best of both worlds? A ps4 & a gaming rig.

You can actually salvage that beginner station if you return after jumping to another system and make it derelict, but it's not worth the time, because you gotta get more water and stuff and the salvage is not that great and you can get it from any other derelict as well.
Recycling doesn't give you the important tech blocks that you need to build up your industrial chain and start producing tech blocks, so you gotta get tech blocks from looting other derelict ships or from trading.
I want them to come out with an update where you can blow an airlock after being boarded by an enemy and vacuum seal the room so it blows all the enemies out into space. That is probably too easy but would be awesome to see for aliens swarms and such.

Was thrilled to see it available after it having been in my wishlist for so long. Totally agree it lacks information on many things, the system jumps with pirates etc. I found a bit stressful, and I totally agree about the workers spending most of their time carrying boxes from one place to another is frustrating. Still looks promising though, there's nothing massively wrong with it. It's one of those games you can only enjoy if you have lots of hours to spare, which sadly I don't.

This game looks like something I'd love! However, I'm glad you detailed all of the concerns in this video. As usual and thanks! I'm going to add this game to my watch list and wait till it's out of alpha. This is the kind of game, I've been waiting on for years. For those old school, a up to date Starlight.

Will you revisit Satisfactory again? The full 1.0 release is still a ways off, but it just got a major update again, and it releases on Steam next week (fixes your problem of not having anyone to play with).

I'd love to see it when it's done, still in development according to GOG as of June 2022. I'll keep my eyes on it. There's an older game called FTL which I rather like but this might take it's place if the final version is good enough.
Could you do a review of 40k Mechanicus, I know it came out 2 years ago but few reviewers covered it and you're opinion would be interesting.

I've been looking for a game like this. I'll keep it on my watch list. I wish they would mix this style space exploration with an XCOM style TB combat system.

I remember playing this one year ago. Three good hours in, see an "enemy" human ship, send all my crew, kill most of them, look around for some minutes.. BUM sneaky hyperfly (or however you it's called) from one of the survivors and just like that all my crew was gone forever, had to start again 😔

Its too bad this game is so lacking of sound FX. This is the perfect game to go wild on immersive sound. Also if this game had XCOM (the old original XCOM) style combat it would be all I want in a game.

Mack, you really should take a look at Star Sector. The game is absolutely incredible.
The biggest sin of Star Sector is not to be released on steam to be honest, such a great game otherwise.

What the game really needs right now is a research tech tree and new technologies. As well as more variation when it comes to enemy ships, as well as more aliens. Also a yeah, a red alert button where everyone stops what they're doing and suit up and man the systems.
By the way, I've been HOOKED on Deep Rock Galactic after seeing it on your channel, SUCH an incredibly good game!
Looks like it has potential, but I recently discovered Rimworld and Oxygen Not Included and those are amazing. So I'm gonna give this one some time.

This game reminds me more of those early 80s sci fi movies. Reminds me of Alien really. The ships were these clunky huge industrial platforms, the tech was bulky and clunky and the people were just regular joes, not some badass fighters ready to take on any alien army. I like that, gives a certain humanity to the thing.
That said this game needs a bit of that FTL magic. More random events, anomalies to analyze, NPCs trying to sell you shit, more trading, star system events, stuff like that.
Biggest problem need know how many I got drafted 2 nd combat needs be little better 3 rd be nice if they had ship designs I can download and what material it needs and built in section or whole thing
Add lab to make diffent things so that be very nice
Maybe add planet to raid or get resources
make a standing work spot if long time sitting is bad for you.
Have you tried the now finished version of rimworld? Great, deep and possibly reaaaaaally hard game with way more options now that is finished. It needs attention :)

Hope it gets well supported and finished. A lot of promising titles get abandoned in early access, would be a shame if this turns out to be one of them. Otherwise it looks cool.
I wish you would bring back mackscorner with all old content... That channel helped me through so much in my life. I might have missed the reason you haven't brought it back. I used to be a patron, and just cant until you bring back you good old gaming experience first hand. I feel like i need a good laugh and some mack time again. Bring it back mack, please. You have no idea what i would would pay for that content. To me it was worth more than anything anyone can offer. I've been hoping for years now for you to bring it back. That's where your real fans are I think (me for sure at the very least)

They will have that game soon. You know, the one with the cover to cover gameplay in third person with 3-4 abilities on a hotbar.
You know, the post apocalyptic world with the gears style gunplay, mass effect/prototype inspired abilities and looks like a mix of rage and destiny.
Character wakes up from sons form of suspended animation I think.

I genuinely don’t remember the name. Clown car rooms all over, tiny combat arenas do you are essentially fighting a village square where the villages are run down shacks (borderlands style at half the scale).
