I think you look BETTER ! without the braids . You look younger with your natural hair .

My thoughts exactly. She’s so beautiful with her curly fro❤️
So glad that you mentioned that CCCA is a autoimmune disease which is different then traction alopecia so no matter what hair hair style you wear it’s autoimmune so you have to manage you diet, stress level and know what vitamins your a deficient in… there no cure unfortunately it’s all about trying to slow down the progression of the disorder.
When I was 17 this happened to me and I had the same response my mom took me to a dermatologist and they completely dismissed me and prescribed Rogain which I only ended up using for for super short period of time cause it mad my head itch horribly and didn’t do any good. I also had a ton of progress when I found out a had a really bad vitamin d deficiency and that helped with my hair growing back. I also had an issue with inflammation and started taking turmeric as well. I have a few set backs here and there when I’m not 100% on top of my hair regimen and diet but I found that with those changes my hair grew back and it was honestly a relief so I totally agree with going to someone who actually sets up a treatment plan and it shows what you put in your body REALLY matters.
Just popping in to say YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!! Thanks so much for these tips, and for talking about the problems that protective styles can sometimes cause (I so relate). Thanks again, lovely! 🖤💜🧿
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you so much for this informative video as well as listing product suggestion in description.
Wish you well beautiful!
Good Morning Queen! I am SO HAPPY that I found your video. You were so transparent and I appreciate that so much. I just found out in November that I had CCCA. When I was told to go and see a dermatologist prior to finding out, my experience was the same as your both times. I, too, am doing steroid injections and a topical steroid that was prescribed as well an am in the process of cutting my hair low like yours. I wasn’t sure what natural vitamins to take so I’m going to try the ones you talked about. I wanted to say that you look GORGEOUS with short hair and I think you should continue to keep. You are a very courageous woman. ❤
Thanks so much! ❤️
Very well explained! Someone suggested checking iron levels but also check vitamin D level as well. Beautiful hair!
Thanks so much! I also take vitamin D and I am on a prescription iron supplement from my doctor as well. I have a updated video on all the supplement I take that help with my alopecia.
brave video thank you for sharing 🙏. I have 10 yr old microlocs and I am regrowing my crown area now. I started using ayurvedic hair masks and infused pumpkin seed hair oil back in October and I didn't see crown growth until January. it's finally filling in and I'm so grateful!! I will definitely pick up some saw palmetto. Once my crown fills in I will cut off my locs and rock a fro 👍.
I'm glad you are seeing results. ❤️❤️
Thank you for the tips! I will try them in my hair regimen.
Thankful I came upon your video I’ve noticed hair loss in the last two months.
I am so happy I found your video, I’m 53 with thinning hair. Thank you so much 😊 also you are very beautiful ☺️
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I have experienced the same thing with a doctor here in Alabama. She didn’t even run any test just looked and you got alopecia, I didn’t accept that answer. My sisters, mom & aunts have the same thing. Mine started off as a dime size and over years has spreader out like a centrifuge size of an tangerine maybe an orange. Ive worn wigs and sew in to hide. I am also natural but have not yet seen a doctor yet. Yes, I also wear my natural tapered hair colored close to my skin complexion to camouflage spot in my crown. I am about to buy those vitamins.
I am glad my experience helps. Thanks for sharing and commenting.
OMGOODNESS that is exactly how my hair does. It looks exactly the same way. I thought I was alone. Thank you so much for posting this because I am so embarrassed and just didn't understand why my hair was doing this. I only had one incident where someone braided and that is where my trouble began. Again thank you!
i also have this situation bt i dnt have money for all this

Good for you sis for not just excepting the first medical minimalist's lack of concern for your health and doing your research.
Thanks!
Appreciate you queen!!✊🏾

I'm trying fresh ginger, aloe Vera, onions, cloves in a spray bottle and use it daily as my natural Rogaine. green and black tea rinses to block dht naturally, multiple vitamins, zinc and vitamin d and incorporated derma roller and stamp to activate the dormant follicles. I saw a dermatologist as well did the shots and was diagnosed with traction alopecia. Note: just started this regimine and all items listed are natural and are suppose to promote hair growth. However due your own diligence/research. Thanks 4 your honesty and transparency. Either way with short or no hair your beautiful and melanin is fire! Peace and blessings!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
What is an incorporated derma roller and stamp ??? 🤔
@@sunflowerthegoddess1737 darn spell check. Is what I incorporated into my regime ( derma roller or derma stamp), it depends one was preference.
@@NicoNicole1969 Thank you for clarifying that for me . Because I was going to go into my beauty supply store and ask them " Do yare sell derma roller stamps " ? LOL 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Alopecia is a autoimmune disease, your diet is also important, no diary, including eggs and no meat. Continue your vitamins as usual to assist in hair growth. Just a little advice.
That is so true. I have had to clean up my diet a lot. Thanks!
You are most welcome
Actually meat and eggs are good for hair growth especially red meat in particular
@@thebeautiful1387 Alopecia is an autoimmune disease, so that is the diet it has to be treated with, try it, it works
@@thebeautiful1387 that is true and alopecia simply means hair loss. There are many types of alopecia so it can't be called an autoimmune condition unless you know the cause. It could simply be breakage.
Hi sweetness, I understand, my hair is fine and thin massaging the scalp with peppermint & rosemary essential oils with walnut oil as a carrier oil truly helps. Washing the hair at least weekly truly helps too, it's not what you put on the hair it's what you take off. Thanks for sharing your gems. YOUR HAIR LOOKS BEAUTIFUL😍😍😍
Thanks!
I’m so happy I found your video. CCCA has been destroying me! I’ve always had long full hair, it’s so uncomfortable. I’ve had shorter styles but it was by choice. Thank you so much for this video! 💜
Thanks!
Me too!. My hair was shoulder length, thick and very healthy, so much that people thought I was wearing a wig but I wasn't. As for my issue, my hair issues are rooted in trauma and stress. So I have been seeing a therapist to release "traumas', but also I am using certain essential oils and I am seeing "slow" progress. But after watching videos like this, I just made an appointment with my primary care to be referred to a dermatologist to assist my healing. Also, I hope your hair is growing back... 🤗
@@CG-gp2gc Thank you so much, it’s grown a lot! 💜 I hope you can find a good dermatologist to help you out too.
Your curls are so pretty

Very much helpful thanks sister.
Check your iron levels. Optimal iron levels for hair growth is 50+. Normal is 40+.
Also, zinc levels which helps to regulate hormones. ☺️
Currently going through the same thing. Taking Viviscal and Nutrafol. Will continue viviscal long term. Also using rosemary oil topically as there are studies that have found it comparative to rogaine.
I also found my first doctor consult ineffective and had to do my own research. Pending a second opinion this month but it feels less dire as I’m seeing results.
I am glad to hear that you are seeing results. I will be adding zinc to my vitamins. I am already on a prescription iron supplement. A recent hemoglobin test showed that I have low blood, so I have been taking iron every day. Thanks for commenting!
Rice water works..hellooo
glad you are seeing results! I would like to see a doctor about my crown but I'm afraid it will be a waste of money or I won't be taken seriously. I have done a 360 on my entire life just for my regrowth which I am seeing. Diet, water, exercise, Ayurveda, meditation...
I have a bald patch that I've had for 10 years. In that time no hair has ever grown. My gp won't help because I'm less than 50% bald. He did suggest my hair follicles are scarred but said if that's the case my hair will never grow back. This video has given me abit of hope
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thanks for the tips. I will add the Turmeric and Pumpkin Seed Oil. Sea Buckthorn is supposed to be good for hair and skin. Collagen (5 types). I'm considering trying out the Viviscal Pro. I've heard adding a prebiotic and probiotic is good. Vitamins A C D E K2, and Zinc are good. PRP seems to yield great results too! I just need to committed and consistent!
THANK YOU! My doctor told me that PRP would be our next step if I didn't get results with the steroid shots, rogaine, and vitamins. I am seeing excellent results, however, it is not as full as I would like it to be (I need to be patient). I am open to the PRP if she recommend it at my upcoming appointment. Thanks for commenting!

Thank you so much truth!
I also wanted to say I shaved my hair and literally started over but that was my choice cause I wanted it to all grow in evenly which it did
Thanks for the vitamin info. I have ben diagnosed with CCCA. What's interesting for me us that I've never worn braids, weaves and I only processed my hair every 3 months or so. So there was really none of the usual "suspects" that caused it.
I refused the steroid injections, so I'm going to try the vitamins.
I refused steroid injections as well. Oh so so many causes for scarring Alopecia. I'm told I also have inflammation but never have been told what might have caused the scarring but was told to stop with relaxers
I’ve done the steroid injections and it helped but only temporarily. I’m going to try the vitamins as well.
Ccca is an auto immune disorder…, so braids, perms, locs won’t cause it. It may be a diet thing. Eliminate or decrease anything that causes inflammation (milk, dairy, sugar) increase veggies, fruit.. don’t stress about it. It’s hard. I have ccca as well. Diagnosed 10 years ago. Some days it’s rough but I choose to walk in my healing. My hair is a lot thicker than it was.
Also injections don’t spark hair growth as much as slow down or stop hairloss (by treating the flatter ups) the itchy-burned n’t sensation… the pain 😢😢 Truly it’s about watching your diet and decreasing stress as much as you can. Keep a clean scalp, take your vitamins and pray. Heal from the inside ❤❤❤ out
I've done all the eliminations. My hair is thick (for me), but there is little to no hair in the areas where the loss is. I've also noticed that it grows a lot slower since this started. I've always gotten trims and cuts, but the growth is extremely slow.
@@endlessdznsbycarrie8356 how long have you been on an elimination diet? it could also be due to something else too
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you thank you! Just found out I have scarring alopecia today and I was sad about it but imma kick this in the a**!
Yes girl! We got this! ❤️
Your hair is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing, what products do you use on your hair. It is pretty !
I'll try the vitamins. I'm not taking any medication. I just started Geritol bcuz I heard it's good for hair growth. And I got some turmeric caps without black pepper in it. I'll use those up before buying turmeric with bioprene. These extra vitamins are not included in Geritol so it should all work well together.
When she said it’s called by inflammation!
I have eczema ! It makes sense.
Thank you so much for this video. Your story is "my story" as far as the braiding experience. I've been experiencing a thinning crown for at least 10+ years and have been wearing wigs to conceal the issue, but I'm working on getting my scalp healthy to wear my natural hair. I live in Georgia, also, so may I have the name of your doctor?

Thanks, sis! I will get those vitamins. I noticed my edges thickened and darken after I rubbed a prescribed steroid name Triamcinolone Acetonide cuz I heard some alopecia is caused by inflammation which makes since cause I have other autoimmune diseases like eczema that are triggered from stress, gluten/wheat, and dairy. I like your hair short and curly like that. What do you use to get it curly?

Tnx for sharing I like the treatment protocol. You might have non scarring type. regrowth & remission also depends on how soon you start treatment. I got dx years after noticing thinning mightve been too late I wasn't offered Monoxidil or shots. I was offered a scalp oil and antibiotic. I wasn't able to tolerate antibiotics so I didn't follow thru. Plus I didn't like the idea of constantly being on antibiotics. Subsequently had 2 more breakouts in frontal regions ( temple). It's been over 10 yrs So happy for you that your treatment is productive.
Do u happen to live in NY region? I wldnt mind consult with your Derm.
Thanks for commenting. I live in GA.
What were all the vitamins you used ?
I use a roller dermal needle and pen. Low laser light therapy. I'm going back to start again on my injections. I also do scalp massages. With this scrubber that I got from the Dollar tree. You know the one you using the shower when your shampooing your hair. I just cut a few of the little nips off. And daily I massage my hair with it in and out of the shower. I take vitamin D C B. Magnesium. Zinc and iron. And my hair is finally growing back after 5 years. I do believe it's the light. Or could it be in the injections. I did not want to do rogaine. Because that's something you have to use for. the rest of your life. I didn't want to be held down by that..🙆🏽♀️😔
I'm so glad to hear that you are seeing results! ❤️
How long have you had scarring Alopecia? Did you catch it quickly, or have you had it or notice that it started maybe 10 years or so ago?
I noticed it after I took my last round of braids out. I was getting the braids off and on for about 8 months.
Hi. Did you mention the hair vitamin? I see the other 3 in the description but not the hair vitamin you mentioned gave the greatest benefit
The hair vitamin is Viviscal Pro.
Great information. My doctor also diagnosed me with CCCA and recommended Rogain which worked; yes, it itched but it worked BUT when I stopped (because it was getting so expensive, it broke off. I used Viviscal which helped but every few years is just falls out. It is as if something in my system triggers the fallout; Mind you i patches my hair grew 5 or so inches..like Bozo. I wouldn't do steroids because it just isn't natural...I really want to fix the problem, not put a bandaid on it. Somewhere in the trees and forest of the Amazon or somewhere, there is a leaf or berry or something from God's green earth that can treat these attacking immunities.....we just have to find it 😊

Question: Did any doctor recommend staying on a low dose of antibiotics daily for months on end?
This goes out to the floor too; has anyone else has been prescribed antibiotics? Thanks!!☺️
Yes. I was prescribed Doxycycline.
I wasn't prescribed antibiotics because I was already taking Plaquenil for lupus so the derm didn't feel I needed antibiotics.

Same thing happened to me. I had to eventually do research on my own like watching videos such as this one and reading. My hair has never been as thick as it is now. The doctors had me on so many medications. They just didn't care. But, don't give up, you got this sis.
loved this. i actually have androgenic alopecia but one of my strands showed scarring from my biopsy and i wanted to start combating that asap just in case that isn’t the only strand. i’m already on the right path with vitamins but you’ve put me on game with turmeric vitamins! def will cop!! wish i were more like you though if i had to go bald i’d literally cry myself into a deep depression. i share a sacred relationship with my hair and i’m willing to do whatever it takes to get him back to the healthiest state. patience is key and good food takes time to grow. thank you for this video. i now have so much more hope. 🤎

How much is the compounded medication?
Hi are you still using the prescribed rogaine? I had a topical steroid cream prescribed to me. It was working to bring hair back around my edges where the traction alopecia is. I also have ccca in the crown. However I didn’t want to keep using it cause I’m not sure if using a steroid cream for life will have adverse affects in the future. It does the same as rogaine. Once you stop using it the hair will fall out again. I’ve turned to using natural remedies. Still trying to find something that works as well.
I take pumpkin seed oil, iron pills, magnesium, I make a golden milk of turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon and a little ginger in almond milk about 5x a week for inflammation.
Do you still use the rogaine and if you stopped has your hair maintained due to all the other stuff you are doing?
Yes, I still use the rogaine. I was told that if I stop my hair could come back out, so I will be using it as long as it's working.
May I ask some personal questions?
Who was it that recommended to you to go see those African people to the braid your hair.?
Also when you saw that the braids were too tight, by any chance did you ask the Africans to not braid your hair so tight and maybe consider using human hair?
When you get the health back of your roots and the internal inflammation are you going to consider doing any type of braids again and now that you have learned your hair type?
With these questions answered, I would like to be able to share this material with people that I know here in Portland Oregon.
31 May 2022
No one recommended that I get my hair braided. I wanted to get braids. Of course, had it known braids or their braiding technique would cause my hair to come out, I would have selected a different style for myself. I have no plans on getting braids, as my dermatologist recommended that I do not get anymore tight or tension causing hairstyles.
Does rogain cause facial hair ? And you’re beautiful sis
Thanks! ❤️ Rogaine did not cause any facial hair growth for me.
Hi Beautiful! I have a question! I have the same problem as you, I would like to know even after so many years of hair loss about more than 10 years my hair can grow back with this vitamin cocktail?
Thanks! You very well may see results in areas that are not already scarred over. See your doctor for a complete analysis.
If this helps, it has been more than 10 years for me and like she said in the video, dermatologist after dermatologist and nobody really doing anything or asking me to come back for a follow-up. First advice was to take biotin. So in January when I was in the dermatologist office to check a skin growth out I mentioned the alopecia again and was prescribed a corticosteroid cream after I heard her say scarring and inflammation and I can say that hairs are sprouting out now. Early July will be six months and I figured I should give it a 6-month trial. I also pray about it. So apparently some dermatologist or experienced enough that they can look at your scalp and determine what they are seeing.
