So glad that you mentioned that CCCA is a autoimmune disease which is different then traction alopecia so no matter what hair hair style you wear it’s autoimmune so you have to manage you diet, stress level and know what vitamins your a deficient in… there no cure unfortunately it’s all about trying to slow down the progression of the disorder.

When I was 17 this happened to me and I had the same response my mom took me to a dermatologist and they completely dismissed me and prescribed Rogain which I only ended up using for for super short period of time cause it mad my head itch horribly and didn’t do any good. I also had a ton of progress when I found out a had a really bad vitamin d deficiency and that helped with my hair growing back. I also had an issue with inflammation and started taking turmeric as well. I have a few set backs here and there when I’m not 100% on top of my hair regimen and diet but I found that with those changes my hair grew back and it was honestly a relief so I totally agree with going to someone who actually sets up a treatment plan and it shows what you put in your body REALLY matters.

Good Morning Queen! I am SO HAPPY that I found your video. You were so transparent and I appreciate that so much. I just found out in November that I had CCCA. When I was told to go and see a dermatologist prior to finding out, my experience was the same as your both times. I, too, am doing steroid injections and a topical steroid that was prescribed as well an am in the process of cutting my hair low like yours. I wasn’t sure what natural vitamins to take so I’m going to try the ones you talked about. I wanted to say that you look GORGEOUS with short hair and I think you should continue to keep. You are a very courageous woman. ❤

Thank you so much for this video! I have experienced the same thing with a doctor here in Alabama. She didn’t even run any test just looked and you got alopecia, I didn’t accept that answer. My sisters, mom & aunts have the same thing. Mine started off as a dime size and over years has spreader out like a centrifuge size of an tangerine maybe an orange. Ive worn wigs and sew in to hide. I am also natural but have not yet seen a doctor yet. Yes, I also wear my natural tapered hair colored close to my skin complexion to camouflage spot in my crown. I am about to buy those vitamins.

Check your iron levels. Optimal iron levels for hair growth is 50+. Normal is 40+.
Also, zinc levels which helps to regulate hormones. ☺️
Currently going through the same thing. Taking Viviscal and Nutrafol. Will continue viviscal long term. Also using rosemary oil topically as there are studies that have found it comparative to rogaine.
I also found my first doctor consult ineffective and had to do my own research. Pending a second opinion this month but it feels less dire as I’m seeing results.

Ccca is an auto immune disorder…, so braids, perms, locs won’t cause it. It may be a diet thing. Eliminate or decrease anything that causes inflammation (milk, dairy, sugar) increase veggies, fruit.. don’t stress about it. It’s hard. I have ccca as well. Diagnosed 10 years ago. Some days it’s rough but I choose to walk in my healing. My hair is a lot thicker than it was.
Also injections don’t spark hair growth as much as slow down or stop hairloss (by treating the flatter ups) the itchy-burned n’t sensation… the pain 😢😢 Truly it’s about watching your diet and decreasing stress as much as you can. Keep a clean scalp, take your vitamins and pray. Heal from the inside ❤❤❤ out

Since my last appointment, she has stopped seeing hair loss patients and referred me to Dr. Hill in Atlanta. I now have a upcoming appointment with her. Tnx for sharing I like the treatment protocol. You might have non scarring type. regrowth & remission also depends on how soon you start treatment. I got dx years after noticing thinning mightve been too late I wasn't offered Monoxidil or shots. I was offered a scalp oil and antibiotic. I wasn't able to tolerate antibiotics so I didn't follow thru. Plus I didn't like the idea of constantly being on antibiotics. Subsequently had 2 more breakouts in frontal regions ( temple). It's been over 10 yrs So happy for you that your treatment is productive.
Do u happen to live in NY region? I wldnt mind consult with your Derm.

I use a roller dermal needle and pen. Low laser light therapy. I'm going back to start again on my injections. I also do scalp massages. With this scrubber that I got from the Dollar tree. You know the one you using the shower when your shampooing your hair. I just cut a few of the little nips off. And daily I massage my hair with it in and out of the shower. I take vitamin D C B. Magnesium. Zinc and iron. And my hair is finally growing back after 5 years. I do believe it's the light. Or could it be in the injections. I did not want to do rogaine. Hi are you still using the prescribed rogaine? I had a topical steroid cream prescribed to me. It was working to bring hair back around my edges where the traction alopecia is. I also have ccca in the crown. However I didn’t want to keep using it cause I’m not sure if using a steroid cream for life will have adverse affects in the future. It does the same as rogaine. Once you stop using it the hair will fall out again. I’ve turned to using natural remedies. Still trying to find something that works as well.
I take pumpkin seed oil, iron pills, magnesium, I make a golden milk of turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon and a little ginger in almond milk about 5x a week for inflammation.
Do you still use the rogaine and if you stopped has your hair maintained due to all the other stuff you are doing?

May I ask some personal questions?
Who was it that recommended to you to go see those African people to the braid your hair.?
Also when you saw that the braids were too tight, by any chance did you ask the Africans to not braid your hair so tight and maybe consider using human hair?
When you get the health back of your roots and the internal inflammation are you going to consider doing any type of braids again and now that you have learned your hair type?
With these questions answered, I would like to be able to share this material with people that I know here in Portland Oregon.

No one recommended that I get my hair braided. I wanted to get braids. Of course, had it known braids or their braiding technique would cause my hair to come out, I would have selected a different style for myself. I have no plans on getting braids, as my dermatologist recommended that I do not get anymore tight or tension causing hairstyles.

If this helps, it has been more than 10 years for me and like she said in the video, dermatologist after dermatologist and nobody really doing anything or asking me to come back for a follow-up. First advice was to take biotin. So in January when I was in the dermatologist office to check a skin growth out I mentioned the alopecia again and was prescribed a corticosteroid cream after I heard her say scarring and inflammation and I can say that hairs are sprouting out now. Early July will be six months and I figured I should give it a 6-month trial. I also pray about it. So apparently some dermatologist or experienced enough that they can look at your scalp and determine what they are seeing.
