Is it worth to buy in 2024 December as beginner ? Or please suggest any other model. I saw g2x four for beginner which is better ?
@@jintothomas4555 yes, nothing can beat this pedal for the same price. The sounds / tones and control parameters are outstanding

I really like that sound of that song you're playing at 22:30 is that a flanger effect
Man these are nice guitars for the money... too bad the United States cannot make a decent guitar for a decent price.... although if you pay the extra it will not decrease in value.. do these hold their value.... some of the guitars I bought have increased in value light the $50 at Sam Goody's The Sovereign special pss1 kiss guitar.... they were them out and I found a case and it says silver tone and I've never seen one like it I bet the case is worth more than the guitar.... the Hohner osc guitar that is amazing right out of the box for the price I've seen none for sale... but the Gibson Studio 50 gold top that just went up in value.. since I got it for 7:50 when they were going for 1300 dollars in US..... with our new elected president it's going to f*** us hard that's why I was thinking of buying something before it's too much if he does what he's supposed to do I'm not so happy with my new electric president and how is this going to affect the guitar industry where anybody works and sells anything because our prices are ridiculous now cuz of greedy people... the majority of the world does not like Humpty trumpty I know I don't.... it's going to affect the world if he gets to do what he wants and I don't think he's going to and yes it's going to affect the world guitar industry if he does what he wants and who can afford to buy a Gibson?? I wish my parents would have bought me a guitar like this when I first got one.... I took lessons at 6 years old in the 70s then my fingers hurt and I thought it was hard-working a song boy was I dumb..... and I never should have sold the harmony it was a kid size but it sounded really good then I started again in the 80s and I should have started on acoustic...... happy jamming

@@PetesGuitarUniverse does it get polished back up by elbow grease after a time like a factory matte finishes? (I mostly own wax/oil finished guitars so dunno. but had a black matte at some point)
@swancrunch wet sand rinsing regularly. It will be a matte / satin finish. It may buff or wear with arm or hand action over time

I really loved your custom clean patch! Would it be possible to kindly tell the patch settings?
@@Veinzf4iL glad to help
@@PetesGuitarUniverse thanks for the reply! Your custom patch setting tho?
I have one of these pedals, and honestly, I realy like it. The best part about it is that you can create your own patches, so you can have a load of different sounds in a row for a playlist at a gig. The only critisism is that is is a little tricky to use on the fly, live. because the buttons are so flat, its a bit hard to push the looper or the number buttons by foot. For the price of the unit though, exeptional purchase. I'm not sure if they have made it so you can add on an expression pedal, or if you have to buy the G1 XFour instead? Thanks for the review
@@deepgravity great. Yes the X model has an integrated expression pedal with assignable parameters

You have saved me! I have been trying to find a method to relic my poly guitar and yours is the best. This is my inspiration, and you did a fantastic job! Will the technique work on a Fender MIM polyurethane body? Also, should I buy regular sandpaper or specifically look for foam-backed pads?
@@mgv611 yes, it will work on your guitar. And yes, only use foam backed wet-and-dry pads. You need to do it wet, and rinse the poly out of the pad very regularly to stop it clogging and causing glazed spots on the pad (which affects the even sanding capability and final finish).

@@FSK1138 yes that's possible
Thanks for getting back to me. My l20 is new from factory. I’ll explain in more detail the problem I am having. I cannot get past the check! SD mode and restart message on the Sd card reader mode. I can get to the menu on the other two modes. I have installed a new 32 and 64 sd card with same issue. I changed sample rates and restarted. Same issue. I formatted and tested the sd cards….restarted and same issue. What else can I do? Zoom says I can use any size of sd card even the 560 size as long as it’s a specific brand. Please help as zoom is not communicating with me.
Hey bud. Love your videos. I just purchased the L20. I was using the L12 before with no issues. I’m having two problems. 1. I can only record in audio interface mode but I’m not using a computer. When I try to set the back mode switch to card reader it says Check! Change mode and restart. I’ve been stuck with no success, restarting etc. I formatted the SD card that worked with the L12 to start fresh. Any suggestions? Second problem is I’m not hearing any effects on my vocal mic.
My settings I'm the video. Pause if you need to. That will ensure you're able to record stand alone mode. Make sure your memory card is not too big. Completely wipe it clean in another device before formatting. Or use a totally new one. The FX can only be heard when monitoring by increasing the Send FX. Th recorded signal will not be affected. It will be dry. Only tracked bounced down will retain FX
In 1972 my very first amp was the Vox AC 30, my latest was a Fender Blues Junior Tweed with Celestion Blue Back Speaker, I now own this Harvey Benton, ive had about 30 amps in over 50 years, I do not gig anymore, this little beauty will be my last and I love it. My only critism is the Chrome Facia, if it were on top like the Fender Blues Junior I would not mind so much, you could see the Graphics, I think it started with it on top but they moved it to the front, probably something to do with copy rights im guessing.
@@davidpask4232 interesting info. Thanks. It's a nice little amp that suits slight tube OD perfectly, just on the edge of breakup, with depth and character. Nice little tone machine
Awesome video, very inspirational! Question though: When you're finished sanding through the poly clear coat and you have just the color layer left, is that color layer then going to show it's age and relic according to your movements and stuff when you play it a lot? Or is that still a too sturdy and modern kind of paint and should you really just sand it all off and go for a nitro color if you want that natural aging and relicing?
@@rbsnacks_ it will wear nicely over time. But if you want the cracking (also known as hazing, or checking), then you can simply apply 2 coats of nitro colour or nitro clearcoat.
will fine steel wool (0000) do the job? You made it look literally perfect!
@@Teo16788 I would say no. Has to be the foam backed pads. Wire wool will create so many little strands of wire that will get everywhere. And you need to rinse the lacquer and paint out of the sanding pad very often to stop it clogging.
@@PetesGuitarUniverse thank you for replying so fast! I was thinking about doing it on my telecaster, I've never liked the thick gloss on it. Do I really have to take out all of the electronics and the neck? I'm really not good at all that and I was thinking of adding loads of masking tape. Also, won't the 800 grit sandpaper leave scratches on the body?
@@Teo16788 no need to remove neck or electronics. Just pull the knobs off and put tape over the pups
Hey Pete what's your opinion of using other oils, like teak oil meant for furniture, on a rosewood or laurel fretboard?
@@71Fenderv22 I would think it would be ok. Just so long as any colour tint doesn't rub off on your fingertips forever when playing.
how do you think this will work on my Sunburst strat?
@@yourguitarmulletmentor7210 follow the same procedure. It works on all finishes. Just take your time and it'll take on an aged look of its own
Nice job, I wish it would be that easy with mine too but my cv 60’s squire Jazzmaster seems to have been painted twice from factory. I dig in the back with a knife and I had to go through 6 layers I think of paint, first it the clear then a layer of Olympic white followed by a yellowish primer then an other layer of white and a primer again. I ve already made a nice pattern of relic but instead of wood you see primer and paint even in places that have deep groove and sanding. I’m thinking to use a type of dye to make the primer look like wood Are there any suggestions on what dye or varnish could work best?
I saw another video where the guy was saying that the Zoom compressor was Fixed Compression at -18dbFs, and that the knob was basically just makeup gain. After watching your video, it seems to me like maybe the compressor knob works more like a wet/dry, and you’re simply adding the amount of the fixed compression effect desired. Thoughts?
@@BillSterrett yes, a wet dry knob seems most likely. It was a fast attack and medium release, as far as I can tell. So it's fairly transparent when use sparingly
@@PetesGuitarUniverse A guy named Sugarcane Rush ua-cam.com/video/HKWz3O2pJvA/v-deo.html has a series of YT videos and he was the one that mentioned that it was a fixed compressor set as follows: Threshold -18dBFS Ratio 3.0:1 Attack 0.1 ms Release 50 ms Knee - soft 0 = no compression, 10 = max compression And that the knob was adding Makeup Gain. If that was the case, you would think that the knob would be labeled with db levels to add vs an arbitrary 0-10 setting. The graphic on the knob shows and exponential increase as you turn it clockwise. I couldn't find any references as to the specs for the Comp anywhere. I'm not sure where he got his info. I'll test it on my DAW with these setting and see how it compares. Thanks for the excellent video
@@BillSterrett cool. Feed back what you find

@@ForeFX rub carefully and don't rush it. You're wearing away layers of paint which gives it the natural look. If you wish and push too hard it will look too obvious and unnatural. Please comment on ME-25 vs GT-1 or other newer mfx pedals in this category and price range if you experience with any such as Valeton 200, Mooer, Donner. I have owned the Me -25 for 6-7 yrs but always felt to tones were not satisfactory. Purchased the first version Katana Artist and now I have the Nextone Special. The Nextone has 4 tweakable analog amps, delays, distortions, and reverbs and of course effect loop. I mostly play clean NeoSoul R&B but need gain distorted sustain for solos in worship music and wah for blues and funk. Guitar is my hobby and I only play at home for family and friends with backing tracks recording myself.
@@kentbernard9842 the GT1 is basically newer in design, but there's a charm to the ME25 and it's (now) retro interface that many love. The shift to the GT1 would not be a massive leap, but its connectivity would be an improvement for recording direct etc. Donner and the other similar prices emerging brands all seem to be roughly the same technology in different (or even sometimes the same) package / interface. Sonically, they're all on a level playing field. But, consider things like resale value and durability. Boss have one of the best QC departments in the game, so cheaper alternatives are often considered to be a risk due to their cheaper manufacturing, components and construction. If you get a good device it's all happy days. But there's a higher chance of unreliability down the road. Buy what you can afford and take care of it. Experiment with sound and everything in your signal chain. It is possible to sound pro on a budget.
