@@zafarhyd5044 how's it working out?
I have tried many amps over the years ,this one is the closest to my old Vox valve amp .I think its such a perfect tone especially the clean even without pedals
@@guitarmuso1 ah, interesting. It is a very nice amp with a low price tag. Ideal clean and crunchy amp

@Pete's Guitar Universe Great video, tasty playing -- love your tone and style. Was this direct line-out? It is a great-sounding pedal. I'm purchasing one. I'm going to be using this line-out but also into an acoustic amp (Fender Acoustasonic). As far as the reasoning for the re-branding, I am taking an educated guess, but I'm pretty sure I'm correct. Assuming this is made in China, you'll notice that are many 'rebrandings' that come out of China -- same product, but under a different brand name. I believe that the reason for this is that all factories are technically government-owned and the stuff that ships to the US comes from a factory near the Pacific (eastern) side, whereas products going to Europe I would expect to be produced in western-China factories. My guess is that different factories produce identical items, but are rebranded as possibly a quality control measure. Thanks for your great channel. Liked and subscribed. Cheers.
@@BrianFromBoise tha KS. And yes, it's a DI, as the pedal recreates the mic'd tone sim. And interesting I do about the China production. Food for thought.
Thanks for your quick reply! Do you happen to have a band or some albums that I could check out? The chords and harmonies in your playing are super interesting and that guitar sounds fantastic.
@@BrianFromBoise thanks. Best place is www.filmreelmusic.com
Just take the strings off ffs. Cheap bastard!!
Absolute waste of time trying to compare them when the mics are in totally different positions. 57 looks to be about an inch above the skin, 421 is higher, ND44 is a good distance up, and the 609 is right up in the air, not even pointing at the drum. 🤦

Still learning how to do all this presenting stuff. Comments appreciated
When recording, you'd want to place the mic at the 12th fret right? You've got the mic right at the sound hole, so you're getting a lot of the bass.
Great vid other than the mic frapping during the demo. Still gets a like and sub.
Welcome onboard
Really am a big fan of your work. Thank you for all your detailed videos. How would you go abouts The Music Producer's Creative Guide to Ableton Live 11 adding a patch bay setup with zoom l20?
The L20 is pretty easy to set up via usb. Pretty standard setup. Shouldn't have any issues. But I preferred to record direct to the L20 then transfer to PC to mix. You could record all channels at once via usb but it's just easier to be stand alone for tracking. YMMV.
thank you Pete! do you like this rig more than the tascam equavilant?
Yes. I love Tascam. My first portastudio was a 244, but this Zoom is unbeatable at what it does IMHO.
@@PetesGuitarUniverse I’ve been really challenged and disappointed with the DP 24. And thinking about moving on to another rig. This seems like a step up in the right direction. Thank you for your time.
@@stephenedwardleemusic8997 the Zoom is miles better than the DP24. You'll never look back
Grateful 👍
This thing is a swiss army knife, use it on everything, take time to explore, and make your own patches, most of the existing ones are too wet with effects, love the znr noise reduction, use it to record direct through my interface, you can even use it on your mixers effects loop to process vocals, in case someone didnt think of that.
You might as well go all the way and age the hardware, fretboard, pick guard and plastic. Why go through all that effort to save a $5 set of strings?
Update video incoming. A lot has changed.
@@PetesGuitarUniverse Coolness!
Thank you very much for the review, very complete. Please help me with a question, I have this sound mixer but I have not been able to make an external metronome, for example, connected to lines 19/20 (stereo) only listen to it through the headphones or monitors (A-F) and that it does not come out along the amplification lines (L-R). Only for musicians to listen to. I do not want to use the mixer's internal metronome. I would appreciate if you could help me clarify this concern.
You need to make a submix, with the metronome fed to the channels you want to hear it on, then save that as a mix on A to F. The master stereo channels won't send the metronome to your main outputs that way.
Flat out beautiful. The tones you were getting and blending single and humbucker was fantastic. This is going to be my next guitar. Thank you for making this.
Sounds like 🤮
I believe a quality deck with metal cassette tape could make a perfect analog vinyl mastering
Vinyl is no better than tape. It has its own character, which is great if you like that character, but it's not sonically better. Even MP3 at 360kbps beats vinyl. Sad but true. But we all love the analogy flavour still
Hi, my zoom livetrak l-20, when I solo a track the volume increases why?
Without looking, my guess is that the solo is set to PFL which means “Pre-Fader Level”, so when you solo it you’re just hearing the preamp level at unity, with no reduction by the fader.
Thanks for this Pete. One question, how can I send some reverb and or delay to a vocal strip on a monitor or headphone mix. When I try the fx goes to all the inputs.
The FX are global, but you can choose not to send any signal from the unwanted tracks to the FX. It's in the venue, how much you send or don't send.
ND/44
I understand this, what I'm missing is how to create and later on, how i can load like 10 songs on stage and play one after the other. Maybe I'm not explaining myself good enough. I want to have loaded 12 songs in the L-12 and to be able to playback them on stage as backing tracks @PetesGuitarUniverse
Hi, I got a few questions about the L-12, may I get in touch with you?
Post them up!
@ what email address?
@@slapfast55 easier to share with the group in this comments section. That way more can learn
My needs: In order to get away from using a laptop on stage , I wanted to get an analog system. My thoughts: buy an L-12, insert the stems from each Songs into the L-12 and playback the stems / backing tracks live and at the same time share the stems through the monitor patches to the other musicians. I tried it out, I can't get it. I don't know how to save and choose different songs. I need help.
@@slapfast55 you need to set each headphone mix up. Choose what you want to send to each headphone output, save that as a mix, and do that for however many headphone mixes you want per song. Each mix can be independent, as well as your own mix. Watch my video to understand how to set those separate mixes up. Instead of feeding that signal back onto the recorder (as I do in the video), just send it to any speakers / headphones / monitors you like. You will obviously need to do this per song, or put all songs (and stems) into one continuous (gig length) set of stems, with maybe queue points inserted to jump quickly between one song and the next. Pretty easy really.
Halfway thru i felled asleep 😂 The ambience background were really powerful 😂
I made that music, so I'll take that as a backhanded compliment
Hi, I recently got the zoom livetrak l-20, I'm still studying it but it's complicated for me as I've never had to deal with these machines. I have a problem with the send efx 1/2 effects, I can't understand how to send the effect to a single track, when the active goes to all the tracks at the same time, where am I wrong? Thank you
The FX are global. You just dial in how much you like on each track. The master mix will capture all FX. The individual stems are unaffected.
@@PetesGuitarUniverse Thank you
Before putting the screws back into the wood put a few drops of thin CA glue into the holes and leave to dry overnight. The glue reinforces the threads in the wood.
When I open Tone Studio, the panel is not showing in the large window so I cannot add or tweak patches (I am on Windows 10-64
Never used tone studio. The beauty of these is the ability to knob twiddle
Older thread but the USB records to your APP such as Audition, OBS, etc instead of using the stereo R/L.
I need a Boss ME 25 or ME 50
So I want to relic my Squire telecaster. But I also want to paint a design on the body. It is butterscotch blonde. I really like it so I just want to sand it so I can paint the design on it. My question is should I try to relic the body before painting the design and then matte finish to seal paint or should I try relic after the seal step? Thanks. Love the job you did on this guitar.
Relic afterwards. That's what would happen through normal aging, it would never be relic'd then sealed afterwards.
Thanks that is what I thought.
That looks really awesome.
Thanks. It was a fun project
Liked and subscribed. Cheers mate .
Great to have you onboard
Hi friend. Wich saddles are that? Thanks
Vi rage style pressed saddles as standard. Same as Fender. Less sustain than modern block saddles, but the strat tone comes from being like that, with short note decay. Good luck.
Scuffing with a piece of rough burlap sack works good on areas where your arm/hands' comes in contact with the body for a natural relic wear look.
Nice tip. Thnx
You absolutely want to keep the guitar untouched under the pic guard. Sunlight is the biggest factor in fading paint. The job will look more realistic if the paint is untouched under the plastic.
Yeah, but to the trained eye it's obviously not a true relic. So many giveaways. It looks much better flattened and DIY relic'd to my eyes and to the touch/feel. But it's so much easier to blitz the whole body in one go with it dismantled. YMMV.
How do i get the mixer to send post fader when its on audio interface mode? I'm getting signal to my daw from each individual track, but they are coming in crazy loud because i cant change the fader or gain on the mixer end
how to move the distortion effect with the chorus so that they are close together, thanks
Save the 2 patches you wish to play with, both your perfect distortion tone, and your best chorus chime, then save them next to one another. You can do this 4 times and then toggle up and down either way and still be sure to engage your 2 favourite setting no matter which way you tap the footswitches to change patch. You can control the distortion with your guitar volume pot, so you can control your OD tone and Dist tone right from your guitar. And leave your clean tone totally clean with no amp sims on. The best clean guitar was recorded by people like Michael Jackson and Prince. Both of which played directly into the desk only running through a high quality preamp to add that transformer-in-the-circuit weight in the signal. Perfect cleans with just modulation is the way to go.
@@PetesGuitarUniverse can you make vidio tutorial please ...if you have free time ,thank you. Very much
While working on a song I want to use each track for diffrent stuff, and keep my mix together while writing a song. Can each track be assigned to each input on the mixer in my daw? That way I could switch from guitar to bass ti drums recording it its assigned track? Is this interface?
