Got permission? What do you mean? By your sponsors or daddy government?
We had written official permission and permits to drive its full length. The Canning Stock Route IS OPEN!
@@christanner3770 like the settlers said to the abo’s
@@christanner3770 I wish I lived in a country like that. I live in the USA, I wanted to run an off road trail in the grand canyon but my gov said NO. I also wanted to set up a homestead out in the desert of utah but my government said NO! need to get a building permit and follow government specific cods to build. I asked if I could park an RV on my land that I bought, and the government said NO! can't park RV on own land and stay in it because its against the code, need a very expensive and gov approved rv park license for that in the middle of the desert miles away from any other civilization. In the USA the government has many different names to try to disguise itself and power. EPA, FAA, FCC.... if you go to A-Z index of government agencies in the USA there are hundreds. they control what we can eat, drink, and where we can $H**. where and how we live, where we can be buried too...
@@MrTopHat4 And they control what we can write on the internet
@@mark2073 I do love my country, I bleed red white and blue and come from a family of veterans. But don't tell me you can go wherever you want without government approval.
I honestly can not wait to watch this entire trip.
Thanks Andrew, keep being you 👍
Sweet FJ Cruiser. What a outstanding setup 👍🏻
Great content as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along.Looking forward to the Canning Stock
Very excited to watch this trip, it's amazing to see a vehicle such as your Range Rover undertake such a trip. Pure Class.
Y'know, it only just occured to me, when you mentioned it, that you're preparing TWO vehicles for this trip!
It's bad enough getting one vehicle ready for a trip. Preparing and packing two must be a real feat of organisation. :-O
So glad you worked out we live these types of videos too. Takes us on a full journey and makes us realise we all run to tight deadlines and stresses before trips.
The two door are a nice looking vehicle !
Really looking forward to this trip. Been a subscriber since your SA days and am very happy that you're based in my backyard now and sharing our beautiful state with the world in the amazing way that your vids do.
Thanks for sharing Andrew! Great seeing you doing out and about type jobs
I notice you said this new troopy is excellent, love it. That generally means you’ll be selling it in a week.
Thank you for sharing your details video as all great watching every time
good to see someone carry a snake bite kit, although snake gaiters should also be sensible
I’m incredibly excited for you.
Thanks for sharing !
I don’t have time to watch right now but wanted to drop a comment. The friends video was so funny. Have a great day
I have to say, nice Troopy that it is, it would drive me mad having the two colours inside and out. just couldn't stand the inconsistency.
The blue was gorgeous, I wouldn't have bothered with a wrap.
This format is very natural as well as being informative - a tribute to your all-round storytelling skills, as well as to the calibre of your associates.
The Dream Tourer placed an emphasis on accessibility and convenience for your work. I'd be interested in your comments comparing that with this vehicle at the end of your Canning trip.
Thank you for sharing.
I already did. Patreons have that video. Will go public next week.
That rain is crazy!! Send some to California please! Rattles and squeaks drive me batty too.
The dodgy winch may prove to be the fly in the ointment further down the line.
Even if you don’t end up using it……it will rent space in your head while your mind is needed on other thoughts.
Try get that box ticked if possible.
Awesome ramp up…..looking forward to the trip. Lekker ry

Andrew, your comment about the winch reminded me of a problem I had with mine....winch wouldn't go reliably, I thought it was the solenoid but it turned out to be the isolator wasn't making good contact. Replaced it with a marine grade one and haven't had an issue since.
marine isolator ...good idea....how many Amps?
Like the content.
I have a Korando kj 2001 in stock format, intend to transform it a little but not in a big way, just a few essential things(i know, this is the starting for everything :) ), in order of give more trust in my short outgoings to hunting, game observations, mushroom gathering, photography, etc.
Here in Transylvania whee not have such a big spaces to make overlandings, my escape zone is the Carpathian Mountains beside Sovata balneary town i live, although it is nice to go out for more days, no need such a precision prepare, just in the technical mather, the outlanding roads and accesses may be very hard in some places.
I see the leather straps on the back door accessory table, i work with leather and knives in my free time, and if you permit my advice is to make some longitudinal sewed lines parallel with the strap edges about 4-5 mm( even some elliptical lines between that), for that it is well recommended to double the leather (two layers) but not to thick layers, i mean something about 2 mm+1 mm to not became to thick, glue the flesh side's together , sew it and it will be more stronger, will not stretch at all because of the thread retention, may bee a bit less malleable but if you treat it with some leather oil will be perfect i think. Other little but important thing is the strap will have the "finest" surface of the leather on both sides.
Cheers from Transylvania

I notice Sean's set up has changed quite a bit since he was on Ronny's Modified. I would love to see a new walk around bis whole FJ see what else he has done. If you could pass on this comment that would be fantastic. Also good luck to you and the rest of the lads on the CS trip. Can't wait wait to see your series of it. The wee Friends trailer was brilliant btw. And also as for Paul Marsh sorting out your wee problem, is there any thing that man can't do? Absolute legend.
I hate rattles just as much as you Andrew. I've found that if it's cold outside, I've got rattles in my rear door panels somewhere, but as soon as the sun has warmed up the interior they disappear😀👍
Hi Andrew, I think this is the Rangie that I was looking at buying as well. I think the bloke selling it was Roy from memory, consequently I didn’t have time to get down to Melbourne to have a look at it. Anyway all the best preparing for the CSR and I’m looking forward to the series.
On Today's Episode: Andrew identifies as a mushroom, Sean opens some drawers, and it rains in the workshop.
que the Top Gear music
@@kenworthcummins8105 Indeed sir :D
I like that exterior sun visor and want one badly. Too bad you can’t find these for most cars, at least not in the US.
Getting excited.
Love to hear some emphasis on logistics re. CSR drive. Was it sanctioned? (Perhaps I'm being impatient. -i'll ambitiously wait for upcoming vids).
Thankyou, btw.
Thanks 👍 Andrew,, Curious about the roof Tyre rack you'll be Fabricating. Standing by for details 🙏.
Cheers 🍻, G.
ASW - you are a big problem with your enthusiasm and knowledge - now i am in trouble as have not quite finished our Dec 2020 200 series tourer and ordered a Troopy for my overlander although still 10 months away... 😀
Cannot wait for your vids on the Canning!
Looks like your still having fun. As usual LR's even the new one are a constant repair challenge.
Its 47 years old! It's going to be a repair challenge no matter what it is.
Hey you definitely need approval for that fuel tank I checked up at Work
I can't wait to see the video of full restoration of classic Range Rover .. I follow the channel every thursday in Usa . just basically waiting for Range Rover Classic projects and furure I hope full restoration ! With little upgrates here and there like the tranny ^^
Question: I’ve read that wraps are good for only a few years, so I’d like your take since you’re trusting them on both your own and your build vehicle - each of which are obviously hard working overlanders. I’d want to avoid excessive recurring costs over ten years if I could just paint once and forget it.
Lekka Andrew!
Hi Andrew, Greeat vid, do you have any details on Sean's drawer system like the manufacturer? Loving the drawer with the table and utelsils drawer with the fridge slide. Thanking you in advance.
Send me email mate
Sean@mission4x4.com.au
😉👍🏾
I’m also curious about this as I love the set up and think it’s a great set up to look into
where do you get the sun visors from?
Andrew, once you've said there are no snakes in AUS, but Sean has a sneak bite kit ?
LOL Shaun is funny he seems really sweet.
How about a tour of your model Range Rovers?
That FJ Cruiser reminds me of Dr Who’s Tardis. 👍🍺
FJ? I was expecting a Holden. :)
Good luck on your trip. Such a beautiful old girl.
You must remind us what brand of winch you put in so we can avoid that brand as who wants a winch that breaks down the first time you use it
As an FJ owner, we never mention GVMs :-p
Don’t totally agree that you HAVE to have that first window on the left rear as a window. I drive a small truck - only cab, mirrors and rear camera.
Can only see out the left/right/front cab windows. Very easy to drive and manoeuvre even without the rear camera (it just helps with positioning when reversing and lane changing on multi-lane roads but isn’t essential).
So sure it’s a nice to have and very very useful. But it’s Not essential by any means.
I agree. But if I had the choice . . . I would keep it glass.
Why is Sean not wearing a beanie? Its winter !! 😂
I need to wash it some time 😂
Why fitting a new gearbox? You could have rebuild the original one.
Not as easy as it sounds. Couldn't not find anyone in WA qualified and trustworthy to do it. Easier and similar cost to buy one already done over east. And I preferred the Perentie box.
@@4xoverland Ok cool, thanks for reply. I had my LT95 rebuild in N.Ireland as no one in the Netherlands would touch it. What is different on a Perentie box, even stronger? I am looking forward to your trip on the Canning. I owe a 1978 mint 2 door but living in a full country haha.
gotta love workers cutting metal with no safety glasses. Darwin loves to have his work validated.
After all of these required changes would a G Wagon be cheaper
Probably. But its not about cost alone. A G would not be a camper. It's just a wagon.
@@4xoverland What about getting a used one and stretching it. I remember you cut one Toyota and added length before. I would also like to add, If I was traveling the outback I would only take a Toyota, but change would be neat to see.
@16:15 - Sean! where's your beanie???
It has been on my head for nearly 6 years 😷 , so I needed it to wash it 😂
Great prep.
Why did the Disco have a new gear box?
Range Rover. Because it was faulty.
Hi Andrew, if ever you have a moment and if you want, could you please share your thoughts on the new FORD BRONCO in comparison to the GRENADIER and your loved TOY TROOPERS. I find that the new BRONCO offers a lot of tech for a very good price. You are a great character :) Kind greetings from Andreas/South of France
Don't rely on the side windows for traffic visibility; put decent mirrors on, including those wide angle ones. I nearly smashed into a very expensive car once, as it was in my blind spot and very low height that I was unable to see. It was a Lambo or Ferrari, I can't recall.
IF YOU ADD NYLON STICHING TO
THE LEATHER STRAPS IT WILL STOP THE STRETCH
Your OCD coming out at 15:00 😜
We have a book of bets on mileage the rover will get before breaking down. no-one has the nuts to bet it will make it all the way.
Andrew,
I nearly laughed my ass off…. Need a side window to look out for joining into the traffic…. Omg… over here they do not need side windows the cover it with 95% black film and the mirror is also not used.
They just move into the traffic also of course without direction lights.! Does this sounds familiar ???
Goes like this : who has the nose front goes first… good acceleration wins… hahaha 🤪
Happy days and safe trip
Cheers
Did you needed a visa from the aborigines tent embassy in Canberra?
Hey mate, you're not far off the mark. The whole world has gone to shit.
For you and Ronny to showcase the FJ is completely irresponsible. What a completely ridiculous build
I have an issue when judgements come from four-wheel drivers who think that every build should be the way they want it. Not like the owner of the build wants it. Mate. That's your opinion, and for Sean, his build is great. Because he is not you. He uses his FJ a lot. And travels in the wilderness a lot. Almost every weekend. It works for him. Which means, its not only not ridiculous, it's great. Because he loves it. And that is what really matters.
