*_Valve, pls fix_* *How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?* There's a good thing about Ghost Fort though, cheaters wouldn't want to play in that map
I think Ghost Fort was quite fun when the whole truce thing didn't exist. People could still kill each other if they wanted to when Merasmus had spawned, and if he was ignored by enough people, he would never be beaten and thus would never level up, avoiding his faster spawning. Lack of truce also meant that if people didn't want to fight Merasmus, fights would be a lot more chaotic, which was a nice way to mix things up from regular TF2 gameplay.
Believe it or not, the Blutsauger is also very, very strong against him, especially at close(ish) range. The health return you get from it basically makes you immortal, too (unless a bombinomicon one-shots you). My son and I experimented with the Blutsauger on our own TF2 server a few years ago, and just the two of us were able to get through Merasmus level 3 no problem, and no hacks, etc.
From what I understand; when Ghostfort first came out, many players complained Merasmus didn't appear enough, So the TF team over-compensated and have never really gone back to balance things out.
Remember that the code used in this video is from the leak from at least three years ago. I don't remember Merasmus spawning at such an extreme rate until just this year. They've broken something to do with his timer since the code leak.
@@TheDJBrojo The code says this: If Merasmus' level is 3 or less, run the function called "StartHalloweenBossTimer" with these 2 values: tf_merasmus_spawn_interval and tf_merasmus_spawn_interval_variation. If Merasmus' level is higher than 3 then run the function called "StartHalloweenBossTimer" with the value 60. Unless the function uses something other than seconds for the timer, then it looks like shounic was right.
My hat says I got him at level 31. That was on a MLP Heroes server where killing merasmus took less time than usual since having on each team a multicolored horse with over 3000 HP does help a lot, especially if your team had applejack, then she could just spam floating level 2 sentries whenever she had 25% harmony level, which didn't take long, 100% and she spawns mini sentries all over the map exactly where each team member is standing on (the sentries destroy themselves after 10 and 20 seconds respectively). This server I mentioned no longer exists since mid 2015, it was a true clusterfuck, a fun clusterfuck and I pity those who never experienced it, brony or not, it was an unique concept that no one else tried to replicate.

I have my Merasmus hat at 14. I seem to remember it being a round where we got him like 5 times so people just decided to not cap anymore (or kill anyone capping) and use as many Huntsman Snipers as possible. Eventually his damage, range and HP got too crazy at 15 so we couldn't kill him anymore.
Darn, and here I was thinking a full server of Machina snipers holding a full charge headshot firing squad would be better at putting him down. How naive I was in wanting to forget that stickybombs exist.
