Appreciate the videos. I have a Davis Aspirated for over 10 years and it’s time for a new station. The Davis is still working. Liked the Ambient Weather 2000. Time for a smaller footprint upgrade. Can’t believe the reasonable price of the Ambient line. Keep them both running for awhile to see the any difference in readings. Already ordered with the lightning strike detector. Weather has always been a good hobby for me. Just got 7.22 inches of rain during Isaias. No damages but I can’t say that for some of my fellow tri-county residents. Couple of storm created Tornados, washed out roads, sump pumps basement flooding, etc. what saved us was the lack of high winds. It’s like fitness, measure to motivate.

Just upgraded from the 2092 to the 2000 with lightning. Just placed the order! I’m in SC too! Having my 2092 during Debby helped a lot but I want the 2000 for Ernesto.
Last night l witnessed two lightening flashes but no detection, l understand it has a 25mile radius. Though l wonder how we could test that it's working??
Did the icon automatically appear on your display console once you inserted batteries? The detector is working but not showing up on console. Does it only appear once it detects lightning? Using an iPad.
How quickly does it update from when a lightning strikes to when it shows it on the display, I read online it's 79 seconds, is this true? I would hope it updates very close to when a lightning strikes 79 seconds is pretty long
Man that’s a good question. You have two of the same consoles for the WS2000? Not entirely sure what to do there. But I’d imagine it would only link up to one? With mine, as soon as I put the batteries in, it synced up to my console.
@@MitchWestWeather Yes, the same console that came with the WS2000- I have two of them. I think I'll call Ambient and see what to do. I would think I just have to do the same set up twice with the firmware update and wi-fi update.
Just got mine, placed it outside on my ‘weather mast’, what i cannot find out about this sensor is ‘how weatherproof’ is it?, do i need to protect it from the rain, it does mention putting it ‘under a porch’, this isn’t really helpful.
They suggest to protect it, but they also say it’s “weatherproof” so I don’t understand that. I’m waiting for my pool temperature unit (they all seem to share a common comm housing) and obviously with a large pool deck, there’s pretty much nowhere to put the actual unit where it can be out of the elements.
@@MitchWestWeather I found the exact copy of this station. It calls MISOL HP2550-1 . It's costs about 200$. May be it is the same station with different names for China and USA. I want to buy it.
@@denisfedorov6467Old comment you probably found this out, but Fine Offset makes the stations and Ambient Weather, Ecowitt, and maybe some others buy them, sometimes change a few things and sell rebranded under their name. I would gladly buy a station if it was a rebranded 2902, but if you can get the Ecowitt or AW version that would probably be best.

From what I remember, as soon as it gets a signal, it should appear.
So can you put the batteries in this thing in your station will immediately recognize it

It's water resistant. And i am sure it will work inside, but mine is outside!

it's pretty dang fast, definitely inside a minute.

But why do you have you outdoor temp sensor on your car port where it can get rained on? That will cause inaccurate humidity readings.
Will you be getting the soil moisture detector once they have it back in stock? and if so will you do a video on that?

I would put it under some sort of under hanging or something. It is water resistant not proof.
