I added an Ultima delux rear coil and it’s a peach. Tires on the trail make more noise than the motor - not a problem. Cabling is tidy but funnels in the water. Headset bearing gone on 4 months. Battery cover is really poor. Really let’s the overall finish down. Aside that. Love it!!
I'm definitely sold on 2021 vitus E,sommet, it was a vs with a focus jam, but then I noticed the jam2 battery is half the size so it's not vs anymore, it's vitus that has the top spot for me, and great video cheers 👍
Great Informative video. It would be great to get your opinions on how the bike rides rather than the details of the components. Where does it excel, is it bike park appropriate, what are its weakness etc.
Super to see a rare review of the new Sommet . Now it’s been a bit wetter has the EP8 been holding up ok ? I ask as my e8000 has died and every winter it has done this due to poor water sealing on the main connections cover. Mechanically fine after 1700 miles but electrics stuffed. The fact also it’s a zero service motor does worry me going down the EP8 route. Great to see that our 4 legged mates always take the best line ;-)
Hi Jules, thanks for your comments. I must admit I've not ridden it enough in wet conditions to confidently say its a more reliable package. My previous E8000 also needed a replacement so I know how you feel. The weather sealing doesn't appear to have been improved at first glance. I guess only time will tell. Overall I prefer the new bike to the old one, and it hasn't broken down yet which is always a bonus...
Hi , what do you think about the EP8 rattle and the bowing battery cover that doesn’t seem to offer weather protection? Look forward to full review 👍Thanks
Hi Magnus, the rattle isn't really an issue in my opinion and isn't something I really notice much. The bowing battery cover is more of an issue however, mine hadn't really bowed when I made this video but over the last month its got pretty bad. Thankfully Vitus will provide a replacement if you have this issue on your bike. I'm waiting for mine to arrive shortly.
@@TheBikeStudio Yeah mines arrived bowing out from new, CRC are taking it back to the workshop for inspection so will see what happens , thanks for the reply 😀
I've been looking at this bike for a while. Thank you for 2 incredibly informative reviews! Just a quick question.. battery life? How have you found it?
You are most welcome. No problem at all. It gives a little more range than the old E-Sommet but would give significantly more if you reduced the maximum power output of the motor. Personally I wouldn't want a bigger battery as I wouldn't like to ride with any additional weight. Get one, you won't regret it!
Hi did anyone get the vr version. Is it the best out there for the £3000 price tag or the stilus better. Mainly ride flat as Liverpool has not much to go at but want to be able to do more if time comes. TIA👍
Thanks for your question. The VR is more than enough bike for most people, especially for where you live. It’s also an excellent base spec to upgrade over time if you feel the need 👍

Good to hear your feedback on the finer details. Battery cover also now floppy. I'll let you know how long my headset lasts.
great video thanks, very informative - the vrx will be my first ebike !
Have you bought one yet!?

Is this the 2021 VR model? On the crc website it says its an e7000 motor, but you're bike seems to be two iterations ahead battery wise?

I'm looking at getting the vr tomorrow. I've been faffing over medium/large. Size dillema aside, would you recommend it as a good value bike?
Yes, get one. They’re great value for money. If you’re under 5.10 get a medium.
@@TheBikeStudio I'm bang on 5'10"... Hence the frame size dillema. Think I'll go for the medium. Easier to jump off if things go wrong!😂
@@cbarton1975 same here....hovering over a M and the L...I'm 5 10 too....struggling to commit.
@@aledjonesccc I've pulled the trigger on the medium. Hopefully it'll be with me shortly
@@aledjonesccc what did you do at the end? I am having the same problem for deciding...I am 5 10 too
