Philippines is not one of the tourist destination for westerners, but once they visit and know the culture they barely want to leave this country. Amazing people and food.
Filipino food is so underrated. Super delicious. I'm an American married to a Filipino man and I would prefer to eat Filipino food any day over the types of food that are typically eaten in the US. So much flavor and creativity and not to mention always cooked with love. Filipino people are done of the most kind and giving people I've ever met. You need to go try some food in the province areas especially ilocano style food is my favorite. Super sarap (delicious)
Back in 2016, I saw your video about Filipino food. That was my first ever video watching of any food journey/food outside of my country. It was your videos that got me excited and educated about the variety of foods all over the world and I decided to visit the Philippines to eat all the good food. Finally on September 20, 2022, I landed on the Philippines and I spent 1 month there. I was mostly in Bacolod but also visited Cebu (only because of the carcar lechon) and Manila. I like to call myself a foodie and I had so much fun eating all the things Philippines has to offer only to realize 30 days wasn't nearly enough and I'll go back again to eat more food. All the food I ate there I experienced for the first time in my life and we all can guess it, all of them were "Sarap". I'd like to thank you for making all the food videos all these years which planted the idea in my head to visit Philippines. You came to Bacolod just after a few weeks of my deperture. I was age 10, I always cherish the beautiful memories of walking through the outdoor markets, and seeing all of the various Filipino foods, and desserts! I got fascinated w/ watching a man quickly shave a giant ice cube to make halo-halo! Met so many relatives I didn't know I had. Going to turn age 50 next week, and would love to visit the P.I. again. Loving every minute of your food tour through Visayas. I think that because there are so many language and dialects in the Philippines, that the food is more diverse than other countries. It seems like every language and dialect region has their own signature dishes. Sidenote: I know someone who is from Bacolod and her mother THROWS DOWN in the kitchen. She sometimes posts pics of her moms food: chicken inasal, grilled squid, la pa batchoy (I hope you, Mark, tries this) 😭

how about Zamboanga with Satti, Cebu with Lechon, Legazpi with Bicol express, Batangas with lom I and Bulalo, Vigan with bagnet, Jolo with Tiyula Itum, then Pampanga din of course. Our foods are so wonderfully diverse that there's no single center like with monocultural countries. instead we have numerous regional food centers. just like Japan with all of its regional specialities. no two regions cuisine's are the same. that's the best thing with Filipino food. :)

Thank you Mang Inasal for bringing the Bacolod Inasal to the whole Philippines. But of course, nothing beats the original inasal. Growing up i never heard of it only when i graduated college that i got to know Inasal when i visited U-belt then. It was just so popular and soon after, ive heard Jollibee bought Mang Inasal.
Mang Inasal is sweet though. Some of those in Manokan tastes similar to Chicken Deli if you have that one nearby. Chicken Deli is just a little less garlicky.
mang inasal used ingredients like articifial vinegar while Bacolod inasal used bahal that came from aged tuba. that is why Bacolod inasal is no.5 chicken dish n the world. uniqueness of ingredients is what differ from so called inasal chain.🙂

I've been battling cancer and it has taken my love for eating and food. Your videos really helps me with having an appetite and looking forward of what I want to eat in the future. Keep doing what you do and spreading positivity and the love of living life through food. Thank You!
I'm Filipina, Chinese, and Spanish. (also a proud granddaughter of a former WWII & Korean War U.S. Army Sergeant). I was born in San Fernando, La Union, PI.. My parents speak fluent Ilocano and Tagalog. Last time my family and I vacationed in my native country was the summer of 1983.. I was age 10, I always cherish the beautiful memories of walking through the outdoor markets, and seeing all of the various Filipino foods, and desserts! I got fascinated w/ watching a man quickly shave a giant ice cube to make halo-halo! Met so many relatives I didn't know I had. Going to turn age 50 next week, and would love to visit the P.I. again. Thank you, Mark Weins, for the genuine respect you have of our Filipino culture, and for sharing your experiences w/ enjoying the delicious food. "Proud to be a Pinay!!!" 🇵🇭☀️🌴💃
Hit me up👆
All the people were so friendly and welcoming. I had to laugh when at the last place Mark just had a basket of chili’s sitting right next to him. Great video and the food was mouth watering.
You can see that he really love the food. His expression was pure heaven after the first bite.
*oh how i miss my hometown Bacolod City specially those chicken inasal. I was drooling watching the entire video. I haven't visited Bacolod City for almost 35 years now. I hope this or next year ill able to go back home!*
I hope you make it Home!✌🏿(the skewers make me want to visit)!
1.1 MILLION VIEWS IN JUST 3 DAYS!!! PEOPLE ARE DEFINITELY WAITING FOR THIS!
Sir Mark, the way you ate Filipino food with a whole sili labuyo (which is abundant) on every bite just makes my mouth water. Thank you for showing me a new way to enjoy Filipino food.
Inasal is one of the best food in the world! Tried it when I went there! Much love from Portugal!
my kids love chicken Inasal.
Thank you for visiting my hometown Mark. It feels surreal to see you there and I feel so proud that you have showcased our original chicken inasal. I'm based in Dubai and I can say that I'm always looking forward to eat chicken inasal in Bacolod - nothing beats the freshness of the ingredients and the flavor of the chicken. Not even here in Dubai. I'm such a fan. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more food videos from you.😊
I want to go visit im from Mexico 🇲🇽
u like kalamansis??
@@shlomovenezia101 I love kalamansi!🥰 In fact, I like it better than lemon. It makes the best condiment with spicy vinegar and a bit of soy sauce.
my kids love chicken Inasal.
Born in Bacolod and raised in Texas, I miss inasal so much. This brought me back home, thanks Mark!
Congratulations to Bacolod, we envy your place because you've got a lot of food to offer... Yummy grilled chicken and any meat you can grill 👏🥂👏🥂 and people are very hospitable and courteous 👍🙏🏻👍💖🥂👏🥂👏
Glad to see Chai Rose succeed. We used to go to her spot way back in 2011 whenever i come home to the Philippines. She was very good to students and feed them.
Thank you for visiting Bacolod. How I missed chicken inasal. My husband and I used to visit Manokan country whenever we go home to the Philippines.
Pretty cool how they butter fly it before they Barbecue it. Love your channel Mark i have watched your channel for years.
Wow Mark all of that food looked amazing! I definitely can't wait to get down to the Philippines 🇵🇭 ❤
Philippines is waiting for ur visit sir...!
Mark Wiens is the BEST food vlogger in the world ! hands down ! he made sure that the food is always the 'star' of the show !
Sonny > Mark
@@TenTenTV16 sorry, Mike Chen is even better than Sonny ... the main difference between Mark Weins or even Mike Chen is that they are very knowledgeable even to the most basic ingredients .... Im sure Sonny does not even know what soy sauce (on its own) tastes like lol
@@Dino-pk5hc I also like Mike. I seldom watch Mark's vlog. Unlike the other two.
I love how they flavor chicken inasal and then you pair it with soy sauce+calamansi dipping sauce. Then chicken oil on the rice. These combo gives such an umami taste.
When Mark leans to his side then back, you know it's good food. 😊
Humbled and thankful for the extended stay and attention given to the Philippines series. Hope it's partly because Mark and team feel at home. :)
Good idea there. Maybe grilled food is a Filipino food path to the global scene aside from lechon and sisig.
my kids love chicken Inasal.
Welcome to Bacolod City Mark🇵🇭. Thanks Mark, Martin, Diana for the tour, now I know where to eat in Bacolod🤤🤤🤤. So mouthwatering, omg, sooo excited🥰
Wooohh almost 10million subscribers 🤗
I remember i am ur subscribers from the start👌
The absolute legend of food travel vloggers. Thank you Mark for the inspiration to create Drew's Travels, documenting province life in Southern Leyte, Philippines.
First is Lechon and now this 😍 thank you Mark for visiting the Philippines for the 2nd time 🙌
Thanks Mark for visiting and trying the best tasting chicken inasal in the country...You're always welcome to visit Bacolod again🥰
We love Mark,we love Inasal and we love Philippines!😍
I swear Mark is my “Man Crush” he is absolutely adorable… I just love watching how excited he gets when trying out different foods…I especially love watching him eat extremely spicy foods…Sending love from Long Island NY 🌺🌺
She sometimes posts pics of her moms food: chicken inasal, grilled squid, la pa batchoy (I hope you, Mark, tries this) 😭
Not dialect, language. Ilonggo is its own language, it is not a dialect. Same for other languages like Cebuano, Ilocano, etc.
@@redfullmoon changed it, thanks.
What an awesome visit Mark! I know the people of the Philippines are so happy you were able to enjoy!
Hello beautiful
Мне передался этот чудесный запах еды через экран😂👏
Hello Mark, thank you for visiting Bacolod and try our Chicken Inasal . Been watching since 2020, One of the best food vlogger for me.
Mark, this is the only video of yours that I have watched that made me hungry.
Awesome. Your videos make me want to do a trip just to check out the food. Sounds wonderful.
The anatto tree came to the Philippines through the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trades from mid-1500s to early 1800s. That's why it's both common in dishes of Mexico and the Philippines. 😊
That's right. Achiote tree came from Mayans who originally used it for body colour.
Sonny and marc, these two food vlogger are great in creating their content.so inspiring. Keep up the good work.
Yes and also Mikey Chen, there are several of great food vlogers out there, but I think those 3 are the most famous ones
my kids love chicken Inasal.
Honestly @MarkWiens you are doing a fantastic job at letting the world see such amazing places, amazing food, and cultures and experience these sitting at home 😘 #FoodAndFoodiesShallPrevail 🤘

You really know that the food is great when you see Mark starting to lean. Now it is already 10pm and I want chicken inasal.
The best chicken recipe I'll tried, that's why i specialize this for my meñu. Thank you Mark for featuring my Hometown. More Vlogs to come ❤️
Yep, it's the lean that he does that indicates how good the food is. :)
When we were young, our lunch is chicken,my eldest sister favorite part of the chicken is the head.i can imagine how the smoke makes you hungry and crave those different meat.yummmy!

I have a fellow foodie UA-camr from Iran I subscribed to and have to say I appreciate watching yall's videos from time to time. I must say Mark that I respect your dedication to doing what you love to do on UA-cam and making this your full-time living. Who would've ever thought in their right mind that creating a foodie UA-cam channel and traveling to different countries to make UA-cam food videos would go from a side hustle to a full-time living and UA-cam millionaire status? You're amazing, Mark. Keep up the great energy in your videos. I love it. I love it. And I love it when a plan comes together "Hannibal Smith - A-Team." Keep going, Mark. wow....I'm so happy that you went to my hometown and tasted the now famous chicken inasal....hope you come back....
Bacolod is the legit place where chicken Inasal originated. Mark you making me Hungry. Have a great food trip.😊
Mark, please visit also Davao. They have many unique but super delicious food there like crocodile lechon, sinuglaw, kalderobo, lemongrass/avocado ice cream, crocodile ice cream, boneless crispy pata, durian and many more.
the real culinary center of the philippines
Correct!
what about we don't pit places against one another. Every place has a culinary culture to behold and celebrate, esp since food is one of the most basic components of a place/community
I’m proud Illongo from Bacolod , but shoutout to my kapampangan people. They the culinary capital of the Philippines
how about Zamboanga with Satti, Cebu with Lechon, Legazpi with Bicol express, Batangas with lom I and Bulalo, Vigan with bagnet, Jolo with Tiyula Itum, then Pampanga din of course. Our foods are so wonderfully diverse that there's no single center like with monocultural countries. instead we have numerous regional food centers. just like Japan with all of its regional specialities. no two regions cuisine's are the same. that's the best thing with Filipino food. :)
sorry, iba parin luto ng mga kapampangan e
at last mark Wiens is in the Philippines and making vlog a fair enough scene. welcome and thank you mark.. God bless you and your family
Oh wow Mark this is truly one of my favorite menus you have showned in the Philippines! Chicken and rice in many ways is one of my favorites, but this rice and chicken, oh I don't have words...other than I wish I had it.
im from bacolod but is now staying in davao. goodness i saw you eating chicken inasal makes me want to fly in bacolod right away.
Yes it's really delicious , everytime I go back to Philippine that is the first food I ordered. I love the taste of that Inasal.
Hey MARK, you've really indulged in Philippine cuisine! Hope you had a wonderful and fully bellied day!
Wow Mark! The way you use your hands to eat rice is so Filipino and I love how you bathe in the barbecue smoke. 😅 Thanks for sharing our food and culture around the world. Much love from the Philippines! 💖
Hi Mark thank you for visiting my place again you make me homesick 💕🇯🇵🇵🇭take care always shout out from Davao
Hi Mark, im one of your fan from Bacolod City and I think you should have a collab with Chef Jp because he knows a lot of restaurants offering top level food.
Thanks for visiting our City! More blessings to come and have a safe trip as alwaysss!! 😇🙏🏼
Chef JP is busy in Dubai
@@tedsanity oh yahh I forgot
I just ate my meal but watching this makes me hungry again 🤤🤤
Thank you Mang Inasal for bringing the Bacolod Inasal to the whole Philippines. But of course, nothing beats the original inasal. Growing up i never heard of it only when i graduated college that i got to know Inasal when i visited U-belt then. It was just so popular and soon after, ive heard Jollibee bought Mang Inasal.
Mang Inasal is sweet though. Some of those in Manokan tastes similar to Chicken Deli if you have that one nearby. Chicken Deli is just a little less garlicky.
Bacolod Inasal is authentic...mang inasal is Generic
mang inasal used ingredients like articifial vinegar while Bacolod inasal used bahal that came from aged tuba. that is why Bacolod inasal is no.5 chicken dish n the world. uniqueness of ingredients is what differ from so called inasal chain.🙂
yuck mang inasal is Ilo-ilo
Thank you for featuring my hometown Mr. Mark.. 😍
I am a huge fan of yours and my heart melts knowing that you had that smile on your face while eating the best of the best of Bacolod foods.
I hope I could meet you Mark in person here in PH! Been a subscriber for years now and watched all your videos
mark is so awesome.. rich or poor places he goes and tries their food.. what a cool dude..
Bacolod is truly one of the most underrated places in the Philippines! Thank you for going to authentic, hole- in-the-wall places! They are the heart and soul of our town! Halong permi, Mark! #ilonggoforlife
Truth!
Isn't anymore underrated indeed Bacolod Negros Occidental recently included as top five mostly visited City and Provinces in the country. Newly discovered tourist spots from North to South of the province and sumptuous food are the reasons why both local and foreign tourists are bullish about Bacolod.your information is outdated, infact a false perception about Bacolod.
