Etc... put it all on banana leaves, and eat it all together in the jungle. now, it's a part of Filipino gatherings. wonderful experience. even my American friends are doing it now in the states.

Mark Weins, one of the first westerner who discovered truly the essence of Filipino food. Not overpowering. Fusion. Something different to offer compared to its neighboring Asian countries. We don't want Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, korean, Chinese, etc food all the time. We want variety! Let's appreciate the interesting differences of these cuisines and not compare which is better. You've got it Mike!

Wow, amazing video Mark, thank you! I’m so impressed about how everything was done the natural way. No rush, no stress either - even when it started to rain during the video shoot. No gas, no electricity involved in the cooking and it occurred to me that nearly all food items were fresh and either grown or caught nearby. Talk about pure living and having a minimum footprint with regards to the environment! I’ve seen some ‘authentic village food’ videos before and not all seem to be tasty. I’m familiar with your videos and I know that you never hype up food that you don’t like, so I know the food is as delicious as you say it is. 👍

I'm a filipino too but we are far from Cebu we are in the northern part of philippines. I hope you had a great stay here in the Philippines Mark Weins ❤️

Man this made me drool! 4:39am Anyone want cup noodles while watching?😂😂 Fun facts: That boiled banana can also be dipped in fermented fish sauce(bagoong) with chillies and onions ☺️ I like that kind of banana a bit ripe but some prefer it green when boiled.. Also, the kinilaw is best paired with Tuba 😁 I'm waiting for the Dad to invite Mark for a drinking Tuba session after that meal hahah..
    Such a wonderful family! ❤️❤️

The Indonesians,Malaysians,Bruneians,Vietnamese,Cambodians,Laotians... other neighbors in the Asean might have seen similarities and subtle differences. We Filipinos must feel the same in the countries of our neighbors.Cheers.
