  • In this video I answer a common question which is, "What are Alaskans like??" Keep in mind, these are broad generalizations as no two Alaskans are exactly alike, but this is a great way to demystify the question and get you to think of things that most people wouldn't consider. Enjoy!

    It is interesting listening to you. I have lived in the a Valley 41 years.Anchorage Airport pays out over a billion dollars a year in wages. Most people outside of Anchorage are more self sufficient it would be interesting to see the number of Anchorage people that own cabin in the valley and on the Kenai.

      @@alaska_realtor We have an off-road place in a remote subdivision and some of the cabin owners are from Anchorage.

    That was a great bit of insight that I needed to know, along with many of your other videos. I'm planning on retiring to Alaska this year, so more than likely I'll be looking you up when I get there. Thanks Jamin!

      I have not seen it up here. It's way too diverse of a state for racism to last long.

    I'm from Brasil, and Alaska is my dream place to live, with winter and all, although, after watching this video I wondered if being a police officer is worth it? I mean with an average salary, the danger of the job, working hours in the winter and all that?

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  3 роки тому +1

      You know I can't really speak from experience but I know that APD definitely works hard. Are you already a police officer?

      @@vitorf2918 I'm currently a Police Officer in Montana. And I would definitely say that Alaska is well above average for police officers pay.
      I mean it definitely depends on where you want to be and work but Alaska ranks 2nd only trailing California in average police officer pay.
      My wife and I have really been considering relocating to the Kenai Peninsula and I would be looking at a 8-15 dollar per hour raise depending on department.
