    Please help me! Im interested in moving to Alaska but im overwhelmed and having a hard time narrowing down cities I should be looking at. I want the best of both worlds. I want to be surrounded by nature... I want the convenience of fishing for salmon (lol) whenever I want but also want to be in a city that is close by, that is densely populated by people. What do you recommend ? Thank you!

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  4 роки тому +1

      It depends on how far you're willing to drive. Anchorage is the biggest city by far, but there are places nearby that you can commute in that is surrounded by nature.

    Great Tips! Very insightful. Not familiar with CCNR’s as far as how to locate that information on a listing. Is this through the KW app or is this a disclosure statement privy to buyers upon request?

      Yes, this is something that the listing agent could get for you. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to subscribe for more Alaskan real estate updates!

      Codes covenants and restrictions. They are big here in California. Usually when you live in an HOA ( home owners association) most people don’t like them because it’s exercises control over the home owners as far as what you can do with your home. For example if you wanted to paint your house purple or something or change the landscaping drastically. The usually have architectural review boards and you need approval signature from neighbors. It can be a drag sometimes but it also helps keep the areas clean and avoids neighbors with 20 junk cars parked on their property. From seeing neighborhoods in Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau I am guessing that regulations are either not enforced or very LAX. One thing I like to do when shopping for real estate is to use google maps street view as it gives you alot of information from the comfort of your home. Another thing to keep in mind and you can correct me if I am wrong but with Alaska being a non disclosure state. You can buy a property for 50 or 60 k and then list it for whatever you want and the buyer has no way of knowing what a good price is. I have seen this in Wasilla where one home was 1200 sqft on one acre for 825k and another larger home was 2200 sqft on more land for 625k. Obviously location location location but I think people went a little crazy with the prices during covid and some sellers are listing at California prices but let’s face it my average annual temperatures are 75 degrees so you have to just keep an open mind and don’t get too emotional about a property or you will regret it. Especially so if you’re not a handyman 🙏

      HashtagCareerGoals The best thing to do is to look at what area has a proven history of selling quickly. It’s a bit more research on my part, but it can save people a lot of headache later. Thank you for the question!
