Gingersnaps Unleashed is one of those films that would've commanded more respect as a stand alone film with a different title since since the theme's and issues addressed(drug addiction, sexual harrassment and imprisonment) in it are different from the 1st. My gripe is that In comparison to the 1st film where Bridgets story is concerned, GS Unleashed backed her into corner where Lycanthropy or death are her only options, stripping the killing of her sister, Ginger and use of Monkshood which was meant to be a cure of any value or catharsis in face of the inevitable. The saving grace for me was the relationship between Bridget & Ghosts before her the latters manipulation is revealed when it's too late for the former to do anything about it. And Ghost for all intensive purposes was a fantastist and pure sociopath who the third film should've focused on instead of a dreadful Prequel.
Wish they would’ve called this Bridget Unleashed or Snaps. I loved this. I recently found out it had a sequel. I watched the the first and prequel years ago when I was a kid but was not aware of a following. I like how we followed Bridget this time because I had always wondered what had happened to her in the end. It’s tragic what does here and now I’m kinda wishing for a third even though I know it wouldn’t be a great idea. Just wanted Bridget to have a happy ending
Werewolves have a regen factor. Do enough damage and they die. But they will recover if you dont finish the job. Thats why the wolf at the end was still alive.

Your smile as Tyler gets killed. 😂 Too funny. Ginger Snaps is my favorite werewolf series. Mainly because of the bond Ginger and Brigitte have and a somewhat more "realistic" idea of werewolves. The idea of it being a mutating disease and slowly transforming into one forever and never being a human again is scarier to me. Once you're infected, it's only a matter of time.
Weirdly as much as people needed to make assumptions to get Bridget where she needed to be, if they had instead had a small bit of her screaming at the cops that a werewolf killed the library guy and she injected wolfsbane to stop becoming one, that would have explained her being in a mental hospital, a place Ghost would fit in as a patient as, and would also have the opportunity for staff taking advantage of them. Granted they'd need to be basically skipping the trial, or ignoring that bit, but it would at least make more sense than drug rehab place, and even give the opportunity for the werewolf chasing her to kill animals and have it blamed on Bridget.
Looks like a decent sequel, but didn’t the plant injection from the first movie cure the werewolfs? If so, why didn’t B just try to get some of that stuff?

Well I'd rather it be Jason or Sam. With Jason it could be a revenge story cause Ginger screwed Jason so in return he Screws Bridgette since Ginger is dead😅. This movie was awful which is why I have the 1st & 3rd movie I hated that Bridgette's fate ended with Ghost locking her & using her as per own personal pet & killing machine. I wanted Bridgette to be either free from her curse or free & living with the curse I hoped for another movie where Bridgette breaks out from her prison & killing that horrible little bitch Ghost.
Throughout that whole ending all I thought was if Ginger was alive and knew what Ghost did to Bridget, that despicable little girl would've been torn apart in retaliation.
@@Senate300 Very true despite everything Ginger & Bridgette still love & care for each other they're sisters after all. Ginger would've been like "Bitch, nobody messes with my sister but me." This review of the 2nd movie is definitely better than the 2nd movie in the trilogy itself. The first movie is an absolute classic to me, I love it even harder than PotUS loves the more beautiful of his two daughters. The 2nd movie here is one of the worst things I've ever seen on TV, ever. I haven't even bothered to watch the 3rd yet since the 2nd was so bad. There's just no redeeming it.
Here was my idea for another Ginger Snaps movie Bridgette gets out of the prison that Ghost held her in she is mad as hell she goes to kill Ghost but finds that she is already dead. Bridgette is still not fully changed yet I'm going to say Ghost accidentally & knowingly dropped some of the monkshood into the pit Bridgette is able to change back but she know the effect is temporary. She sees Ghost only to see that she has been torn to shreds another werewolf had tracked scent & was able to sneak up on Ghost killing her instantly. Bridgette is relieved but angry that she had been denied her revenge on the little pysco girl but Bridgette has better things to do like trying to fight the beast within while hunting for a cure for herself. Or after being imprisoned Bridgette changes into a full werewolf then Ghost thinking that she has control over Bridgette goes to release her to use her for her sick & twisted games gets attacked by Bridgette. Or Bridgette finds a way out of the trap anyway Bridgette enraged that Ghost betrayed her rips Ghost to shreds delivering the final blow by ripping her throat out Ghost in the meantime has either a knife or gun as she dies uses the weapon & kills Bridgette. Ghost dies but Bridgette is still clinging to life as she does this she sees Ginger coming to her extending her hand & saying "Together forever" Bridgette is happy to be reunited with her sister again reaches out & takes Ginger's hand & repeats to her "Together forever." then Bridgette dies finally free from the curse in the distance a wolf is heard howling. That's my idea anyway anybody got any ideas do you think my ideas suck? If you do I don't give a shit I was just putting my thoughts on this.
so, i first saw this when i was about 4-8 years old........why the hell did my parents let me watch this?? also not saying that its why i have depression now but it certainty couldnt have helped
I mean its an allright story continuity wise and theres some good elements. The problem is the pacing its just not paced in a way that makes it compelling. Plus theres literally no back story for the wolf thats chasing her. Like how long has it been following her and theres virtually no hint or explanation who it could be. It just seemed they put the 2nd wolf in the story to have some action beats into the story without really giving it any context except for a throw away line in the story.
as "werewolfism" is permanent in this universe what would it add to the story anyway ? you complain about pacing but wouldn't that add unnecessary detail ?, there's no backstory for the werewolf that attacked ginger in the first film either, does it matter ? I would argue almost everyone never thought about that.
@deusdeaconReviews Yeah the first movie had the focus of Ginger and Bridgette. Plus the wolf in the first movie was killed almost immediately but yeah the first movie isn't perfect either but is paced better than this one imo. The pacing being improved would just make it not so drawn out or boring in places. The writer also confirmed she added the 2nd wolf after the story. Like I said I don't think it's a terrible movie but it could've been better.
I mean no movie is perfect and personally never found an issue myself with the pacing considering its a combination of chase and siege style film you need that down time for it to get disrupted, but y'know everyones different I suppose.
@@deusdeaconReviews imo it should've had more time devoted to Bridgette on the run at the beginning rather than the very short bit we get. They'd be able to explain the 2nd wolf in a more meaningful way rather than the plot device it was.
yeah I can see that, more of her day to day activities and how she's surviving instead of immediately locking her up and adding like 5 or 6 more characters she has to compete with.

These films are depressing as fuck.
You know, a plot synopsis isn't exactly a review.
No true, But a synopsis interspersed with critique and analysis to give them context is.
You know. A unfairly generalization of a whole video isn't exactly a comment.
😂
