Dude. I've been early extending for about 15 years. I took a lesson in June of 22 and he told me the same thing my previous instructor told me, 15 years ago: "You're early extending." Since then, I've been working like crazy trying to finally fix it with almost no success. I didn't realize I was hanging back until I saw this and watched my swing videos. I've easily hit over 1500 balls and this fixed it in 10 minutes. I'd buy you a cold beer and give you a hug if was at your club. Thanks so much!! See you at the Masters.

You have the best opening song of all the golf pros on UA-cam, and top advice as well.

Beautiful guys......I have been struggling to fix my steep angle/lack of distance and finally realize this is the culprit! I also found that the step drill works great to get that feeling of moving through! Thx for the great tips!

I think the key to being able to do this is the re-centering move that you (and Robert Rock) have. Shifting the weight back over the left in transition activates that leg and gets it rotating.

This is all good, guys, by presetting the weight in the front. But what about for driver tee shot which requires upward attack angle? Doesn't the upward hit imply a bit hanging back?
    Thanks, much appreciated.

Great video… for years I was told I “slid” too much so for pst 10 years was instructed to keep my left hip inside my left ankle making it imply to rotate and control low point . This is great instruction but hard for sliders not to feel out of control at impact…

That guy's foot moves because it is at right angles to the target line, and the pros foot does not move because it is already flared open.

Great video! I'd really appreciate an explanation of what is "conscious" versus byproduct. Is the sequence 1)recentering 2)lead knee or more simultaneous execution? 3) lead hip consciously being pull back?

I really only hang back on drives, I push the ball if not. I do tend to push iron shots too. Nothing better than hitting a 290 yard drive to push a pw 30 yards right never fails

Every change can produce unintended results. I had a tendency to throw the hips forward to get the weight shift but did not turn my hips very much. I took a lesson and the instructor focused on turning my hips and not thrusting the hips forward. I think that resulted in what you showed at the beginning of the video, which was all hip turn and no thrust forward. Got to be careful not to overdo it.

My biggest problem is when I do my practice swing my weight shifts well and properly. Then when I’m at address to the ball and I’m swinging to hit the ball all of a sudden I end up with my weight on my back foot. Do you have any advice of how I can stop doing that? Because I have no idea why I do it.

Also NO hip rotation bud little controlled sliding to start the downswing 😢thank you

You've really got to throw the middle section at the target and then haul it left.

Does this count for driver also

The driver swing is much different, particularly in the sense that you are trying to hit upwards on the ball, not down like you would with the irons.
