I rarely write comments, but you did an amazing job, in just 30 minutes you made over 100 beautiful designs. Of course $30 is an insulting amount for 140-160 Pokemon designs. Don’t underestimate yourself, in such an insignificant amount of time, equal to ~23 seconds, you managed to think through and draw a design with meaning. Also, most of the Pokemon that you thought were quite simple or poorly designed look great to my taste, for example that fire/fairy rodent, especially considering how the official ones are now starting to look Pokemon. And your design of the villain's dog is incredible, reminds me a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing, I'm fall in love with it. I also admire your designs, Rhino, the first stage of Pokemon with a bat, turtle with a fortress and Medusa Ghost, and cat with bubble thoughts, they are fire🔥 Yes, there were many similarities between them, for example, almost every third Pokemon had fur like coat or “pumped up” arms, something like that. BUT for such an amount of time it is still incredible. I love your channel and your creativity, keep up the good work❤❤❤
This is probably one of the best/most fun Fakemon Videos on UA-cam! I tried this challenge out myself but with only 60 designs in 30 minutes and it was so much fun and I got quite some cool designs I liked! I ofcourse gave credit to your channel and this video. Really hoping for a followup. Your design and rendering skills are insane
some of your base designs/scribbles are pure gold, i will definitely try this out myself. for 70/71 after seeing its drill nose, my interpretation for the grey "wing" was an exhaust. my take on your mythical and legendarys relation is simple, for itself i would go with an additional alternative form like hoopa unbound, those rings originally belonged to it. those legendarys where retainers. over time they got greedy, united and usurped the king, pretty much (commen history). it survived and is in its current form only a shadow of its former self.
This was really fun to see, I like the Rhino fire starter and for sure believe a lot these scribbles have potential to be fulltly fleshed out mons. I admit that lot of these designs would feel right at home in a fan game like Pokémon Quartz 😂 For the Mythical I'm thinking that it created the two main Legendaries like Arceus and Regigigas did, not exactly sure for what reason though.
To pit them against each other for its enjoyment? Like, promising its royal favour to whoever prevails, then sitting back and enjoying the neverending, futile fighting.
Absolutely incredible work. You've truly outdone yourself. Now, I need this entire Pokédex officially drawn in your style on my desk by the end of the month
i’m not sure why, but i absolutely love the derpy designs! The simple colors, the creativity, the derpiness, the unique designs; I really adore all of it, even a bit more than some official designs!
with the amount of time that you had for all of these, they're all really impressive. I love the designs of every single one. No matter how derpy they look!
I think more artists should design there full region like this first, to then redesign and change them from those, there is something about this concept that I think could improve regions, your onto something
This helps really well with like designs like a very simple design can go a long way. I have a region that isn't based on anything and just has a hodgepodge of creatures
I love this! These are loose by necessity, but the colour blotches worked so well, and the lines are so clean, and the shapes so, shapey. The idea of a time-limit being part of a challenge gives you so much leeway on quality, but the results are still so good.
These are incredible. I loved seeing all of the full effort designs. Pokémon NEEDS you on their design team. You could make the game great again. Your designs show clear effort and genuineness that gen V had all while being modern and matured.
This might be a lazy idea, but I think the name Ecsbatic for the electric bat could be fun name! Combining bat with Ecstatic which already has the word "static" within it.
I really love the thought bubble psychic cat! The idea of it's psychic thought bubble becoming so heavy it can't move feels like a Sun/Moon Pokedex entry
This video is a stellar example of how when designing Pokémon, less is more. A lot of these designs are genius and would become instant classics if they were actual pokemon.
The randomness of your designs takes me back to the excitement I felt when playing Pokémon Blue for the first time in the 90's. Modern official Pokémon designs don't bring me joy like yours did in this video ❤
This is an awesome video and is both filled with surprisingly great designs, but an important conclusion on artists block. Definitely do more like this in the future!
Box art legends are two Brutes/Warriors/Barbarians who aren't smart but know that even though they hate each other they must work together to stop the mythical (which is some kind of Lich King who has been weakened making them small) from turning the world into it's undead army. The Lich King Mythical Pokemon probably has an ability where if it is in a battle with at least 3 fainted pokemon it transforms to become stronger. (I'm imagining the form is some giant undead abomination and is similar to Wishiwashi School Form)
Omg I wish we had an igloo tortoise or turtle. It feels like such a natural design with the ice blocks looking similar to the plates on a shell and it combos well with the idea a turtle has its home on its back. I think you did a great job with the execution of the concept
Hi, im Pew who made the original tweet! I loved your video, its funny that after all this 30$ wouldn't be a fair price for the doodles 😆 love how much creativity you shown, and it looks like such a good exercise!
I was wondering if this video would find you!!! 😂 yeah an hour straight of doodling was actually exhausting and still not worth $30 lol. Fun exercise either way though!
@@penpaladinI saw it when you posted the rock bear on Twitter and wanted to see the dex when finished but my notifications made me lose the tweet, in the end a friend posted the link on Twitter and tagged me!
An idea that adds on to your capybara fakemon evolution line: Maybe it evolves at high friendship when there’s another one in its party? I do love the concept for this video! Some of the designs are very good! I’d love to see more of the fairy/fire rodents!
7:25 definitely my favorite line! I love the ones that aren’t based on anything in particular, they’re a lot more fun to look at imo (and to use in Pokémon games)
I don't know if anyone will see this but here's my idea for the main legendarys and mythical. The mystical which ill name monissist (monarch+narcissist) is a ancient pokemon who used to be king of the lands. but one day his rule was challenged so to protect his kingdom he created two other pokemon to protect him. The first being monuhemoth (monument+behemoth) :the blue one: being created from a pillar from a great sky temple. And the second being fraghemoth (fragment+behemoth) being created from the pillar of a great fire temple. Even with these newly created pokemon monissist still lost and for his failure was banished with monuhementh and fraghemoth being locked away in a sealed cave for eons. As for the game names I would give then pokemon storm and pokemon shard.
pen paladin longform content? more of this, PLEASE! i love your shorts and i'd love the chance to be able to chill out to longer videos from you! love this!
this is an amazing exercise that i hope gamefreak sees and applies to their art team. i think they do great work, but the way you’re finding such wonderful designs and ideas from splotches and timed doodles, i think it’d be a great warm-up for their grander design endeavors.
The ghost Medusa is really cool! The concept of being scared stiff combined with a Medusa’s ability to petrify works weirdly well. Perhaps it’s ability gives it’s ghost type moves have a chance of causing paralysis
Bro at least 50% of these are insane. The egypth and "grave" theme really fit together. Sphinx, medusa, mummy-octopus? N I C E. It could absolutely be located in a mini version of africa where you have both a northern desert, middle jungle and southern mountains (yes, there are places in southern africa that have snow!)
Are we going to get a video where you do this same challenge but do max effort throughout!? Your polished finished designs look incredible, an entire gen like that would be so fun yo watch - even though I’m sure it would take weeks if not months to do
Thought 102 could be named Hoardrake but as it turns out, it's already a fakemon thing. So, instead, it could be Auragon (Au + dragon) or Dragaurum (Dragon + the Latin word for gold)
The dusty dog final stage's chef hat really looks like a chimney to me! Would help explain the soot-like color and purpose for the Pokemon's fluffy fur!
I really love this video and this concept. Because you have to draw so fast without thinking, it also reveals some of your favorite design concepts. Like you mentioned, you enjoy drawing dogs, but I also noticed you like making the general body area covered in fluff/smoke (though that may be the shape of the blobs talking). Not a bad thing, just interesting. Might do this myself
112-114 are peak Pokemon design- the flipped turtle just choosing to stay flipped is awesome. The final evolution is great because it looks like a cairn (stacked rocks used to mark trails) and its head is giving side-necked turtle vibes, like the mata mata, or a gibba turtle. I think it is such a cool idea that this little guy goes from cursed existence to apex adaptation. He was the hunted, now he’s the hunter. Possible names: 112- Topsitotle (topsy-turvy, tot, turtle) 113- Teetertutle (teeter-totter, turtle) 114- Cairnqueror (Cairn, Conqueror)
i wanted to make a pokemon fangame that leans more on the research side than the battling side, where you play as a professor's assistant. i thought it could be cute to use a doodley art style, like the game is pieced together from your character's notes, but decided that it wouldn't come out looking good. if i could 'scribble' this good id give it another shot lmao
Will probably do a follow up vid at some point! If there are any designs I didn’t finish that you’d like to see polished in part two, let me know!
I'd love to see the Ice/Fire penguin line polished up please!
the bobcat/champion ace line :)

I also admire your designs, Rhino, the first stage of Pokemon with a bat, turtle with a fortress and Medusa Ghost, and cat with bubble thoughts, they are fire🔥
Yes, there were many similarities between them, for example, almost every third Pokemon had fur like coat or “pumped up” arms, something like that. BUT for such an amount of time it is still incredible.
I love your channel and your creativity, keep up the good work❤❤❤
If you have trouble with Pokemon names, just go binge a bunch of Lockstin videos. That's where my love of etymology comes from. 😊
wow actually many decent designs. These designs are better than most fakemon creators and even better than what gamefreak is pumping out these days.
16:30 I propose the idea that he chases the lightning like a rabbit chasing a carrot dangling in front of it.
This was really fun to see, I like the Rhino fire starter and for sure believe a lot these scribbles have potential to be fulltly fleshed out mons. I admit that lot of these designs would feel right at home in a fan game like Pokémon Quartz 😂
For the Mythical I'm thinking that it created the two main Legendaries like Arceus and Regigigas did, not exactly sure for what reason though.
The castle bear roadblock pokemon could be called Bearstion which combines Bear and Bastion.
that cat concept was dope actually @ 12:21
i’m not sure why, but i absolutely love the derpy designs! The simple colors, the creativity, the derpiness, the unique designs; I really adore all of it, even a bit more than some official designs!
13:05 Baterup(Bat and Batter up)
and Chirolace(Chiroptera is a genus that bats belong to, and lace is a baseball term for hitting a line drive)
with the amount of time that you had for all of these, they're all really impressive. I love the designs of every single one. No matter how derpy they look!
1 - Eerloaf
2 - Hasslagen
3 - Kanuncher
Comment: The first one sounded German, so I went with German rabbit and fighting words.
4 - Calfluff
5- Cloudocero
6 - Spirikobao
7 - Squirt
8 - Octomb
9 - Kalamare
10 - Wuffa
11 - Derpup
12 - Canivite
13 - Lupupil
14 - Kaneeye
15 - Dugbert
16 - Deffrey
17 - Defferton
18 - Hepaarva
19 - Pupatrol
20 - Fercanary
Comment: You get hepatitis for stepping on them 😞 Fer is iron.
21 - Sparpik
22 - Aardvolt
23 - Wackydoo
24 - Mudley
25 - Dastardog
Comment: A play on the Wacky Racers - Dastardly and Muttley
i like the ones that just sound like human names
I think more artists should design there full region like this first, to then redesign and change them from those, there is something about this concept that I think could improve regions, your onto something
This helps really well with like designs like a very simple design can go a long way. I have a region that isn't based on anything and just has a hodgepodge of creatures
I love this!
These are loose by necessity, but the colour blotches worked so well, and the lines are so clean, and the shapes so, shapey.
The idea of a time-limit being part of a challenge gives you so much leeway on quality, but the results are still so good.
Unlike some other designers...your design look so real... might be my favourite channel already
12:36 thats such a good Idea, And I love the Turtle hiding in its icy shell
Man you are a genius. Instantly creating any fakemon is a near god-like ability.
These are incredible. I loved seeing all of the full effort designs. Pokémon NEEDS you on their design team. You could make the game great again.
Your designs show clear effort and genuineness that gen V had all while being modern and matured.
I just wanna say how freaking admirable it is too see the awesome and creative concepts you came up with in this short of a time slot
man your designs and overall art have gotten so good, especially like the water starter and psychic cat #90
11:13 For a name for this one, how about... Bearygneiss?
This is an awesome video and is both filled with surprisingly great designs, but an important conclusion on artists block. Definitely do more like this in the future!
The noise I made when seeing your first scribble mon was inhuman, what a guy he’s so awesome lmao
You could name the upside down turtle "Sturtle" Stack and Turtle.
2 minutes in and i’m already in love with the grass starter, that might be the best pokémon design ever
This is all great, shows how much work really goes into art like this. I adore all your designs, but especially the fairy elephant!❤🎉
Omg I wish we had an igloo tortoise or turtle. It feels like such a natural design with the ice blocks looking similar to the plates on a shell and it combos well with the idea a turtle has its home on its back. I think you did a great job with the execution of the concept
Love this idea so much. The simplicity of many of the designs gives them a very gen 1/2 feel.
Also, name for "castle-bear": Kumakreet (Kuma Concrete)
An idea that adds on to your capybara fakemon evolution line:
Maybe it evolves at high friendship when there’s another one in its party?
I do love the concept for this video! Some of the designs are very good! I’d love to see more of the fairy/fire rodents!
7:25 definitely my favorite line! I love the ones that aren’t based on anything in particular, they’re a lot more fun to look at imo (and to use in Pokémon games)
Pokemon Sky version for the first legend and Pokemon sunset version for the second. The mythical is night, so Pokemon night version.
As for the game names I would give then pokemon storm and pokemon shard.
pen paladin longform content? more of this, PLEASE! i love your shorts and i'd love the chance to be able to chill out to longer videos from you! love this!
I quite like most of these. Especially that lightning bat tornado! Would love to see this pokedex filled out completely.
The amount of creativity you have is insane. Can I have a little bit of it 🤣
I LOVE THE THOUGHT BUBBLE CATS THATS ADORABLE!!
this is an amazing exercise that i hope gamefreak sees and applies to their art team. i think they do great work, but the way you’re finding such wonderful designs and ideas from splotches and timed doodles, i think it’d be a great warm-up for their grander design endeavors.
The ghost Medusa is really cool! The concept of being scared stiff combined with a Medusa’s ability to petrify works weirdly well. Perhaps it’s ability gives it’s ghost type moves have a chance of causing paralysis
Okay, but the thought-bubble cat remastered art is legitimately one of my favorite fakemon ever.
Your ideas are so good! I loved the psychic type which is the negative thought that grows!
Are we going to get a video where you do this same challenge but do max effort throughout!? Your polished finished designs look incredible, an entire gen like that would be so fun yo watch - even though I’m sure it would take weeks if not months to do
It could definitely be Greece! The shapes of some pokemon, like the rock types and also the swirl on most fire types really makes it look like it.
This was a treat to watch
A lot of these are really cool!!
I especially like the psuedo design, and the amount of tornado inspired designs as well.
12:59 a creature concept of the entire twilight baseball scene
Thought 102 could be named Hoardrake but as it turns out, it's already a fakemon thing. So, instead, it could be Auragon (Au + dragon) or Dragaurum (Dragon + the Latin word for gold)
this is like the scribble skins in doodle world
The normal/ground dog thing is basically Greavard line before it dies... 🥲
Roadblock pokemon just makes me think of blockado from adventure time! 😊
The dusty dog final stage's chef hat really looks like a chimney to me! Would help explain the soot-like color and purpose for the Pokemon's fluffy fur!
I actually really liked that turtle with an igloo shell. That was a really cool concept
Really cool idea! A lot of great designs, and the ones that could still use work give you a great jumping off point for continuing!
What a fun design challenge! I'd love to give this a try myself someday. The simplicity of the designs really reminds me of gen 1
This is the best thing ive watched in a long time. like a LONG time (pokemon related).
This is actually so cool
Possible names:
112- Topsitotle (topsy-turvy, tot, turtle)
113- Teetertutle (teeter-totter, turtle)
114- Cairnqueror (Cairn, Conqueror)
I'm surprised how well Pharifant came out in the end (that's the Fairy elephant if it wasn't obvious)
2:14 Second and Third designs were super good. Bunny with Boxing gloves😮💨🔥
i wanted to make a pokemon fangame that leans more on the research side than the battling side, where you play as a professor's assistant. i thought it could be cute to use a doodley art style, like the game is pieced together from your character's notes, but decided that it wouldn't come out looking good. if i could 'scribble' this good id give it another shot lmao
This is my favorite type of drawings and artstyle
The upside down turtle is unique and cool
Have to say ur designs are absolutely amazing, if ever made a game - id definitely play it!
these are actually really cool. restriction breeds creativity and whatnot my favorite was 55 i love little guys
