I really like the D&D Board game trilogy, and I finally defeated strahd a few weeks ago...by using the guys in The Legend of Drizzt :D

Yes, I forgot to draw a Treasure card . . . this oversight continues in the next episode . . . eventually, I clue in. Thanks all for watching along!

+Paul Darcy For some reason, drawing Treasure cards is difficult for me to remember too. You would think, considering the number of bad things that happen in this game, I would remember something good - but I forget just about every time.

+Stasia Doster I think it may have to do with it not being mentioned at all on the handy reference card that outlines each phase of a turn . . . that's my excuse! I do eventually remember though, so get my rewards . . . just a bit delayed! Thanks for watching along!

I have a question.... Why can't we attack strahd until he dies BEFORE he comes back to life?? Or can we not do that? Guessing not

    • @PaulDarcy

Thematically I think you are alone at the start you only want to flee. Later in the series of scenarios you get braver and also have allies to go back and finish him. Thanks for watching along.

Trying to learn this game. Can you explain to me why @14:21 you couldn't, or didn't, place the tile to the south of you seeing as that seems to be the closest unexplored edge?
Nevermind. You address it in ep 3.

My son and I played this last weekend on Father’s Day, we had a really great time. He said his heart was pounding at the end, because we barely escape with our lives. I thought it would play a lot like lords, of water deep, but this has a more hero clix and zombies feel.

For sure. It's a pretty intense survival game at it's heart. You need to complete the mission and try to stay alive. Thanks for watching along!

quick question, at the end you didn't explore so don't you need to draw an encounter card? enjoyed watching!

I did two full turns in this episode and explored both times . . . the black triangle made me draw an encounter card on turn two . . . Thanks for watching along!

this one and Temple of elemental evil are my fave in series. Lots of people have a lot of hate of this one vs the other 3 boxes but still to this day the adventure book has a different experience in each mission and more different ways to build that adventure then all the box's after. Glad to see you playing this one.

+Uncle May It does offer a great variety of missions and some of the best boss monsters in the series. Thanks for watching along!

I'm only familiar with 1st edition rules in the early 1980s. The only solo adventures were the modules that had a "ghost writer" pen that you would use on a blank (until you swabbed it with the pen, after you decided on your choice of actions) description box, like Maze of the Riddling Minotaur, remember those? I haven't played D&D since then, except for DDO on my computer, and the floppy disk games in gold boxes on my Commodore 64 (yes, I'm old), also in the 1980s. I had no idea they made these kind of card game solo modules. Of course, playing D&D automatically makes you a nerd, even tho I played in metal bands that people actually paid money to see us play and I was a pussy getting nerd, because chicks like musicians, especially guitar players with long hair that were drug dealers with money, so fuck it. And I got a lot of hot pussy, so it was quality AND quantity. I'm a Gothic kind of guy, so Ravenloft always had special appeal to me. Vampires are the coolest undead.

Yup, longish hair, bell bottoms jeans, a bag of dice and hours spent killing orcs and goblins back in High School - and getting to that -10 armor class was all you could strive for . . . And if you look hard enough there is just about every kind of modern board game out there now for nerds to enjoy. Thanks for watching along!
