Wil is so right. When I played this with my friends I was the traitor. I managed to get the grail and talked a fellow knight into sacrificing their health to zero under the promise of using the grail to revive them. His face when I refused.....so worth it.
So, the Once and Future King has turned away from the side of righteousness and proven to be a traitor. The Knights of the Round Table have killed themselves rather than face defeat. And Camelot has fallen. Yet, it's a good day for Wil Wheaton. Is it okay if I don't feel happy for Wil this time? It just doesn't feel right with this one.
Whenever my family/friends play this game we always come up with crazy stories for why our knights lose life points. For example, my sister, who plays as Sir Tristan, said this notably while on the quest for the Holy Grail. "Sir Tristan was just finding a clue to the Grail when a wild hand maiden appeared. She was offended by his purple cloak, and smashed him with her staff. Sir Tristan lost a life point because he was so ashamed a female knocked him out."
Just realized that Tara Strong has voice acted in so many cartoons and games that I love. She was Harley Quinn in the Arkham Games and Keira in the Jak and Daxter Games!!!

Catapults and Life points are like the emergency reserve in this game. And the fact that they are using them up instead of drawing black cards early in the game = almost guaranteed defeat (even if there is no traitor). The thing is: grail + excalibur completed = catapult, and if you put catapult to complete those quests early, it means Cats on Cats on Cats

I love Shadows, been playing it for 7years, thanks Wil for bringing it to so many more people. What an epic UA-cam idea! More board games from you please???
That has got to be the greatest victory reaction--if not just this season--ever! Such childlike glee! I doff my chapeau to you, Wil, for not capitulating to societal norms that frown on expressing yourself unashamedly.

Tara Strong brings back all the nostalgia. Still love all those shows even now. And most of the Acquisition Incorporated is formed too. Loved this episode.
Ok, I haven't finished the video, but Wil has "forgotten" to use his special power. Wil doesn't forget. Therefore, he's the traitor. I would LOVE to play poker with the guy.
I know some rules get changed in Tabletop to make it more ...showworthy(?), but one of the key rules is that if a knight chooses to take his last life (aka kill him/herself) as the evil act, the knight still gets to do their turn before they actually die....not that it would have helped in this case.
Tara Strong, I love you. One of my favorite episodes because of all the voices she does. My childhood saturday morning cartoon moments come back to me.
I love this game so hard. Tip: It's always best to deal out the Loyalty cards so that there may not be a traitor at all. If you know there's a traitor, it makes the game way less fun than not being sure whethere there is a traitor or not.
You need a lot of players for this game to be balanced with a traitor. We played without a traitor and it was still tough. Honestly, the traitor can be totally transparent and still win. Just add a siege engine every turn; they'll soon run out of steam trying to fight them, and since you don't need to even pretend to help them to keep up the charade, they've effectively lost a knight. Sure they'll get a small bonus for calling you out as the traitor, but it won't be enough to save them. In a small game the traitor gets more turns and the knights will just get overrun.
The way Wil describes some of these games and the "mischievous" voice he uses when something could happen (spies, problems, crashes, etc) makes me want to play them so freaking bad. He does a really good job selling these.
Can we PLEASE get an Extended Edition of this one, guys? Shadows Over Camelot is a GREAT game just to watch because of the subtle expressions of the players' faces and the casting for this episode is so awesome I wanna hear even the most mundane stuff that happened...
For those who thought it was odd that Wil claimed there were eleven traitors at a table with only four people, you clearly didn't see the seven people hiding under the table.
We're Knights of the Round Table, We dance whenever we're able, We do routines and chorus scenes With footwork impeccable. We dine well here in Camelot, We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.
I laughed more at this episode than most. And Wil won - yay! Also, thanks for bringing back the "advancing the game" music...the song with the whistling. I don't know why I love that particular music so much, but I've missed it.

Aw come on you are 4 people! Playing it with 100% chance of a traitor is killing the game, you should have used all the loyal cards for a chance of a full good party. When we played with my family, my brother was the traitor... And he played King Arthur too... Lesson learned: NEVER trust in the King!
"I'm Tara Strong. I am an actress, and I'm known for voicing literally everyone in everything ever."
The weird thing is her normal voice is honestly SO NORMAL. Like, you wouldn't expect her to have so many variations at her disposal!
I mean...she isn’t wrong xD
So true
Kyle Griffin
@@VivaLaDnDLogs And she used her normal voice as the voice of Batgirl
Tara Strong could probably voice the entire round table and have an evil version of every voice without blinking an eye.
notbobby125 She certainly can do it. Have you seen her acting past?
But it's all the same voice.
I think tabletop should have its own channel
Agreed.

It says something about Mr. Wheaton that the only times he's ever won are in games with traitor mechanics and he IS said traitor.
Michael Westmoreland the funny thing is that I saw Wil wins, and my first thought was that this game might have a traitor mechanic.
he did no win the mechanics ware broken and poorly designed to begin with :D
