The exact part where you mentioned the build quality and the part of the headset that worries you is where my stealth gen 2s just broke today! Many people have experienced it breaking in that spot as well from what I've seen on reddit. Lasted me about a year and 7 months, it's a shame that they didn't upgrade the build quality between these two models.
Geez, I'm sorry to hear that man. It's a really a shame when everything else seems to work so well. I tried to look up warranty but you need to plug in the serial number - maybe you can try that? Go to turtle beach.com/warranty, scroll down and click on "Turtle Beach USA offices". Then plug in the serial and see if you can't get that puppy fixed.
One thing suggested is turtle beach needs to make the swivel like metal or something. That way, it will be unbreakable. Make it unbreakable in certain spots to avoid disruptions in gaming. Their mentality seems to be that of an engineer and not a consumer. As an engineer, as long as the hardware is designed well, most bugs can be fixed with software/firmware updates. Unfortunately, the products they make are not like smartphones that auto update (it has to be done manually), so by the time they release these updates, it'll be too late because negative reviews are already posted. While not everything is a software problem, most Roccat gear I've tested over the years were solved with a software update (or two software updates later). That might work. But might not work perfectly. Because: 1. Bluetooth has a slight delay (unless you're on a phonecall) - that's why most wireless headsets use WiFi dongles for games. If you use Bluetooth for gaming you might get audio lag. 2. During my use, the Wifi dongle switch was always on "USB", but changing the dongle switch to "Xbox" might work differently... or not. I simply don't know since I never used it that way. If you try this, let us know what happens.
