In the scene where Yasuke meets Nobunaga, the tatami mat is the wrong shape and the other samurai are sitting in the wrong way. There are also other strange things in the layout and furnishings. Cherry blossoms bloom in spring. Rice planting is in early summer. Persimmons are in autumn. Torii gates are at the entrance to shrines, not at the entrance to villages. Samurai, who respected honor and etiquette, did not fight with iron clubs; those who fight with iron clubs were demons or barbarians. Beheadings are only done on the battlefield or at the execution grounds. They are not done in the city, and it is not a common practice. Yasuke was a bodyguard and baggage carrier for Nobunaga, and was not a samurai. The only equipment Yasuke received from Nobunaga was a short sword called a "koshigatana" , and he did not receive a Japanese sword or armor. Yasuke did not participate in any battles other than the Honnoji Incident, which he was caught up in. If he went to the battlefield with only a short sword, he would be killed immediately. He had no other achievements. Yasuke was captured by Akechi's army after the Honnoji Incident. Great breakdown! I’m glad we are finding more distinctions between the two playable characters. I’m conflicted as I don’t normally adhere to one style and like to switch it up mid-mission. Sneaking through one section and bruting through an other for example. It makes the divide between the two harder for me to stomach although I’m nonetheless excited for this release!
Thank you so much! Yeah, it's not great to not be able to change style and character at any time during missions, but there will be some... "checkpoints" during missions where you still can!
Do you think thay Yasuke will be an Assassin too because of that phrase? I hope so. He doesn't need an hidden blade or an hood to be a member of the Brotherhood. He can be like Mario Auditore and Bartolomeo.
I’m… not sure if he’s going to be an official Assassin, maybe more like somebody that cooperates with them. The vibe I’ve gathered is that all the assassiny stuff is tied to Naoe while the fantasy stuff (as in feudal Japan, historical, samurai etc.) is more tied to him. Then again I hope to be proven wrong! For sure not every assassin has a hood or a hidden blade..
Anybody else find it annoying that she s releasing her hidden blade on and off every time she's in proximity of an enemy. It seems really immersion breaking at some places. It would have been really cool at least if we heard the sound of the blade coming out and sheathing in
some interviews says you won't be able to change character "during quests". However, since Origins there's not really a clear distinction between "in a quest" and "in free mode", it feels like you are in free mode always. I hope this feature they said means there will be a clear distinciton for quests and open world, because it's good for narrative. I don't want the freedom of "it's quite busy here, we need your help immediately, but you can fly back home to do some fishing and hunting".
Yeah, I'm going to try and dig a bit more in the interviews to see if there are more specifics to this - Maybe they mean the main quests and not the side quests or missions, and the choice will be locked only if you have your main quest activated. Maybe it's like that. And yeah, I also do hope for a clearer distinction between quests and open world. Fingers crossed!
Hey! So, Yasuke won't have a Hidden Blade but as far as I know he should be able to "assassinate" as in eliminate guards in one blow when unseen. Still waiting for confirmations though! As for parkour, Yasuke should be able to do very basic parkour, but not as much and not as in depth as Naoe
