I'm 5'2" so very experienced in tricks to elongate the legs. I love the new wide leg jeans and here's how I make them work for me. I wear the highest waist I can find, and I wear them the longest I can. Almost grazing the floor. Also, pair them with a pointed toe shoe in a similar color to the trouser. Works great to trick the eye and make my legs look long!
I’d like to see an episode on differences in hem lengths. What’s right with flats vs. heels, trousers vs. jeans, where to crop for ankles to show vs. all the way to shoes (without bunching,) etc.
The more I watch you, the more I like you! Your advice also is timeless! You are a really hard worker, too & I admire that in you. Thanks for this great tutorial!😘
These were very helpful tips. I am 5'1 and I am so happy I discovered wearing high-waisted pants. It makes such a difference. You do a fabulous job of showing the difference in looks with the each actual item. Thanks.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 02:37 👠 *Shoes play a crucial role in elongating legs; avoid contrasting horizontal lines and opt for matching shoes with bottoms.* 07:00 👖 *Raising the waistline by choosing high-waisted bottoms creates longer legs and harmonious proportions.* 08:35 🚫 *Avoid baggy, loose-fitted bottoms to prevent visually shortening the legs; consider the fit and silhouette for a flattering look.* 10:10 👖 *Pairing wide-leg trousers with heels, especially with pointed toes, adds extra inches and elongates the legs.* 11:33 🧦 *Match tights with the color of shoes, not the outfit, to elongate legs; tonal dressing helps create a streamlined silhouette.* 12:45 🩳 *Avoid buckling hemlines by folding excess fabric inside trousers; this maintains a clean and adjusted look.* 13:39 🧥 *Opt for shorter jackets and tops to avoid cutting your figure into equal proportions, creating the illusion of longer legs.* 14:35 🎨 *Minimize contrast between the top, bottom, and shoes for a streamlined silhouette; tonal dressing enhances the elongating effect.* Made with HARPA AI
Yayyyy! Thanks for mentioning tights, Diana. (I’m someone who has asked for a video previously so obviously, would love it if you did a full video.💕) This video was helpful because it showed the value of thinking through so many different scenarios. Love your style and suggestions! Thanks again!!
I think the long blazer still looked good on you because you were wearing it open. I could see the 1/3 to 2/3 split because of your shirt being tucked in and the jacket open. I think that’s fine. Plus cropped jackets sometimes don’t work as well if you have a bigger bust. Longer blazers are more flattering. Just wear them open. 😊
YAY!!! I have 8 pairs of Vivaia shoes and heels!! Love being able to wear heels again, look stylish, even with a bunion. Love your videos ---- great advice!!
I'm 5ft 1 and love wearing warm knee skirts with jumper and boots. A video on tights would be most welcome 😊. Appreciate the time you take in giving us clear unrushed advice.
Thank you for sharing you have helped me so much with what to wear for every occasion and for my body type and the challenge is very real I am 4 foot 10 inches, thanks for being such an inspiration 💟☺🤗💟
I just lack a couple of inches in my lower legs 😂 - my upper legs are long and in proportion to my body. Videos such as yours have helped me visually adjust the imbalance. Without high heels, which I cannot at the age of 70 wear. But I can cope with tapered heels on cowboy boots! I have 2 pairs - one white, one grey snakeskin - from Sophia Webster. They are very comfortable, and have pointy toes which add a bit of length
Thanks, I’m short! All over, so these are helpful. I have to break some of them occasionally because of being able to actually find clothing that fits. I do have a question about bunching hemlines. Your example was clear, but you also model several pairs of longer pants that clearly bunch and even drag the ground. Can you please clarify. Thanks so much
The jeans you showed as wide legged are just relaxed fit. You didn't show any true wide legged pants. You showed flared slack that were very loose through the legs.
Me too. So I'm watching for tips of what to do as the opposite. For example, sometimes high rise jeans can make me look like my bust is at my waist, so if I go for mid-rise it's better.
The link to the striped cardigan leads to a (lovely) blouse. Would you please fix the link? Thank you.! Love your timeless style and great tips - they are helping me get out of my style rut.
Love the video, as always! I tend to wear longer tops and keep all tops untucked to cover my belly. I’m short and curvy with a long torso. I’m struggling to make the 2/3 to 1/3 rule work for me bc of my belly. I wear mostly medium waste black trousers or black leggings. I would love your help! Can you make a video about this?
Why would you wrap a sweater around your neck while layering a sweater over a blouse? Looks kind of silly to me. I feel that's a very dated look anyway. Thanks and love your show and appreciate your expertise and style!!!
The style is ok, but a coat and tying cardigan/sweater whatever that is, old money style😎 doesn’t make sense. It is a mess if you’re short looking trying hard.
I thought your ankle leather pants with the white low rise sneakers looked good together. Showing your ankle elongated your legs. I do think black shoes with white pants would be contrasting and yes make your legs look short.

Excellent content. I would like a video on tights please. How tall are you?
Almost 5’6 167 cm
This is so helpful! Thank you
You're so welcome!☺️
For sure let’s get some advice on the tights. Living in Scotland we need tights most of the year? A video would be great for me. Gail
Noted 👌
I was really keen to try the boots with your code. Thought you should know that it only gives 15% not 30%
Excellent tips Miss Di, i love it!! Thnx.. ❤❤❤
My pleasure 😊 thank you for your feedback!
Always so helpful and informative x
The jeans you showed as wide legged are just relaxed fit. You didn't show any true wide legged pants. You showed flared slack that were very loose through the legs.
The wider the fit more obvious the difference would be. But I guess the point is already quite clear, isn’t it?
Right. 5’0”. Size 14. Post surgery so I could walk. No pretty feminine shoes. How to feel rotten: watch this.
Great Information! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!🤗
I have the opposite issue - I have a short torso and long legs.

thank you very much, very useful video!

I have a video how to conceal the tummy, please check it out in the same playlist 🤗
I subscribed ❤
How tall are you? It would help me understand proportion.
Between 5’5 and 5’6 it’s been a long time I had myself measured
@@dianagoss thank you👍🏻
Why would you wrap a sweater around your neck while layering a sweater over a blouse? Looks kind of silly to me. I feel that's a very dated look anyway. Thanks and love your show and appreciate your expertise and style!!!
Diana-if I joined your class, would you help me figure out a hairstyle and color? I feel like I look like a dead person. I need help!
Nice video with your leather clothing
Glad you enjoyed it
where is that white and thin black striped polo zip neck from? lovely
It’s Goelia. Linked in the infobox
Somehow I found the outfit with wide jeans, red pullover and sneakers rather flattering for you. On the contrary, bootcut jeans looked worse IMHO 😂
Какая красивая
Do these tips apply for pear shape?
💯 yes
@@dianagoss Thank you. I asked because everywhere they advice pear shapes to use long blazers to hide the hips.
Hi, you look tall. Would you mind sharing your height.
I like your sungasses, would you please let us know the desighner? Thank you in advance.
They are from Zimmerman, but quite old ones
Just get rid of the cropped pants and your legs grow 2-3 inches longer.
Would you please share your height
It’s around 5’6
I have long legs and l can’t find that video?
If you have long legs, you can wear whatever you like! 🙌
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
WHAT ABOUT IF YOUR 6 FEET TALL?????
The style is ok, but a coat and tying cardigan/sweater whatever that is, old money style😎 doesn’t make sense. It is a mess if you’re short looking trying hard.
Tuck in your blouse and wear high waist pants ..display your high waist whenever possible.
I thought your ankle leather pants with the white low rise sneakers looked good together. Showing your ankle elongated your legs.
I do think black shoes with white pants would be contrasting and yes make your legs look short.
Taking too long on the intro...
Who cares!
Great tips, thank you.
