Timely video for me. I am anxious to get my lawn looking good. First year that it's "mine". I know to be patient but at least I know some good recommended options for weed+feed.
Just purchased the fertilome weed n feed, as well as the straight fertilizer based on your recommendation. Im puting out the weed and feed in my neighbor's yard because she has a lot of weeds. Using the fertilizer for mine since I just spot treat. I'll let you know how it goes, excited to see how it performs.
This channel is saving this new homeowner over and over lol thanks so much for the content. I’m sitting on three bags of Bayer 3 in 1 that’s 35-0-3. Gonna bring those back and find something you recommend. Being a new homeowner, what’s the best time do drop it? May? I’m in NC and our last freeze is thought to be April 15
Wow, 35% Nitrogen!! That is high indeed! Yes anytime in May should be good as long as your centipede has greened up fully and is ready. Thanks for the great feedback.
@@CentipedeCentralLawnCare Thanks for the reply! Do you have a patreon or discord? I’d love to throw you a few bucks you’ve already saved me that much not scalping my centipede then drowning it in nitrogen 🤦🏻♂️ Love the content!! Perfect for me. I also have questions about these nasty sandy run off spots. I’ve bugged some neighbors but they are not so helpful
What is the best month to put down weed and feed? I live close to Atlanta. I put it down the end of March this year and I think that may have been too early.
Yes probably a bit too early. I would say the best time would be around May 1 for the first feeding of the year. Since it has been a couple of months since last feeding you should be ok to do another one. Just be sure it’s the right product as mentioned in this video. 👌
I bought the Lesco 20-0-3 st augustine w+f. Thoughts on it? I’m a fan of lesco. They used to carry a 15-0-15 product, but they’ve seemed to discontinue it.
Will be interested to hear if you get good results. I’ve never used Penox before as a weed control so I don’t know how effective it is. Overall, sounds like a pretty good product as long as that active ingredient is safe for Centipede. If you do 3 pounds per 1000 that will give you .6 lbs of N per 1000 which is a good rate for the first spring app.
Can I buy that bag and put it down now July I’m in Savannah Georgia there are some spots that I see little dried and I do irrigation at 7am for 10min. Let me know thanks
Ok thanks. As you know centipede is very finicky and in the past I have gotten bad advice. I’m glad to find someone who backs up the advice they give. Thanks for the help.
Not a huge deal. Just make sure it’s getting an inch of water per week either through rain or irrigation and mow consistently. As long as you don’t consistently use that product you will be ok. Also the N content in that is very high so depending on how heavy you applied you could either skip your summer app of fertilizer or go very light

Thanks Timothy for watching and the comment

Thanks for the nice words. As far as runoff spots go, I can do a vid on a water penetrant I like. Good for runoff areas and compacted soil.
Thanks for the product recommendations. 👍🏿
Thank you sir!
I have used hi yield 15-0-10 with trimec with pretty good success.
Great, that sounds similar to the Fertilome 15-0-15 W&F. Thanks for watching!

Sure any of the weed and feed products like the Fertilome 15-0-15 would be good.
@@CentipedeCentralLawnCare even now with 95 degrees weather. Buy I would wait till the sun goes down and then water it in ?
Yes or do it early morning
Should I use a weed and feed or trimec and fertilizer?
I would lean toward separately doing the applications. Maybe do the Trimec first now and then around May 1 do the fertilizer.
