Paddys River Flats Campsite, BURRA NSW

Mcdaddy and Tubby visit a picturesque riverside campground in Burra NSW
The Paddys River Flats Free Camp is situated on the Tooma Road in Burra NSW close to the Elliott Way Turnoff to Cabramurra, Kiandra and the Snowy Mountains Highway, from here you can turn left to Yarrangobilly caves and thermal pool, or Right to Kiandra ruins, Providence portal, Lake Eucumbene Adaminaby, through to Cooma.
This quiet riverside camping area is well maintained and has picnic areas, easy access to the river, and Good public conveniences with flushing toilets. Water for the public conveniences including sinks and taps is considered not potable.
Situated in one of the Snowy Mountain Valleys close to Tumbarumba NSW (15km away) and near to the scenic Paddys River Falls. Tumbarumba is a good spot to Refuel and get supplies. The Servo at the Corner of Bridge and Winton Streets was the cheapest fuel in town, and there is ample parking for caravans just past the servo and in behind the pub with an alleyway which gives good access to both the pub and the Local IGA.
Having contacted the Tumbarumba Information centre prior to visiting the campsite during April this year. I can positively advise that this is Indeed a FREE Camp. You can camp there for 4 days without permit or Fees. If planning to stay longer than 4 days you must obtain a permit from the Tumbarumba Information Centre at ZERO Cost maximum stay is 3 weeks with the permit. After 3 weeks you must move on. I hope this clarifies matters. The information centre and community support this free camp as it has proven to bring an influx of cash to many of the local businesses
