    Shallow and slow a 1/16 Texas rigged finess worm. Shallow and fast a spinnerbait. Deep a jig or dropshot maybe a vertical tube depending.

    Had to watch it three times because I’m getting ready for a tournament on Dale Hollow as co angler and I was racking on what all to take. Lol You recommended shakeyhead so I’ve got that tied on, ned, jerk, squarebill, spinner, and swimbait. Boater said he’s gonna focus on the smallmouth post spawn and then maybe large as the sun gets high...so I feel like I’ve got the kitchen sink I’ll let ya know how it goes! Thank again man, good content, and appreciate the effort of a tip video everyday

    You’re 100% correct I learned that lesson the hard way it’s hard to go toe to toe with somebody especially in the front of the boat

    I'm 52 years old and have fished local tournaments from the front of the boat or sometimes from the back in team tournaments since I was about 18 years old, when I was in my 20's and 30's I won quite a bit and if I didn't win I was usually in the top ten, not bragging because I got away from it for several years due to family etc, and started back fishing a few local tournaments about 4 years ago, I've had some success but these young guys now days are very very talented and hard working ( and they can kick my butt more often than not ). I haven't fished a tournament in a year and a half because of my schedule and not being able to find a partner. But having said all this, my old shoulders and elbows can't hold up anymore when the situation calls for covering water with a moving bait. Something I love to do when needed, I have come to the conclusion in the last 18 months that I would make a good back of the boat partner lol. I've been thinking here lately about fishing some BASS Opens as a co-angler, if I was to do that my mindset would be to simply to view it as a cheap guide trip and do it for the experience and possibly meeting some of these guys that I'm a fan of. I wouldn't be all wrapped in the fishing part of it, of course I'd try my best, but it would mainly be the experience itself.

    I fish in tournaments with my partner, it is his boat, so, I am always fishing out of the back. I just ALWAYS have the mindset that I AM GOING TO CATCH FISH. Positive Attitude is essential. It also helps that he likes to fish super slow and I am a moving bait guy that gets to really pick apart the area with spinnerbaits, thunder crickets and squarebills. It is really working out well, I don't get many bites but the ones I get are 3lb+ class fish

    I always ask my boater the night before if he is going to fish shallow or deep & fast or slow?
    Helps me pare down my tackle & what to expect

    I like to fish a different water column my boater is. If he’s beating the bank up I’ll turn around and try to fish a few feet deeper than him. Sometimes it helps... sometimes I turn around and fish the bank lol

    Don’t complain about how the pro wants to fish. It’s his boat. Best thing to do is slow down Carolina rig or a whackey rig. But if they fishing real fast. Hit as many spots as you can.

    Have u ever caught fish cause of what ur co angler was using something u wasn’t

  • @AlexReeceOutdoors
    @AlexReeceOutdoors 3 роки тому

    That do you do when your pro starts fishing the exact same bait you are using?😂

  • @davidciraulo5301
    @davidciraulo5301 3 роки тому

    U can fish the same bait behind a pro even a cleaner because the difference is the way each person fishes persay the pro is hopping a jig versus the co angler dragging a jig but pay attention to the size he is throwing and as a coangler maybe try to down size it and fish it differently than the guy in the front of the boat.
