Will work on clear water lakes but when it comes to dirty lakes you have to fish the brush and lay downs along with the man up front really. But definitely some great tips that’s awesome.

I co angle the Bass Central Opens and this is exactly some really good points. Another tip would to talk to your pro and ask him or her what they are specifically targeting such as docks, laydowns, grass lines, etc and inquire if the structure they aren't targeting is open game for you. There's that possibility that your pro is more than open to that and you can actually fish "fresh" waters that your pro isn't interested in. Also, if you are fishing a similar bait as your pro, change up the color a bit. If he/she is throwing a green pumpkin worm for example, throw a watermelon red or sprayed grass. Just a slight variation can help pick up a fish or two that your pro was unable to get to bite. One thing I learned is that even if your pro has fished that dock, laydowns, etc and may have caught a bass off it, take a follow up cast if you're able because your pro moved on to a new target. Sometimes you can make a clean up cast and get that other bass that may be sharing the structure/cover that your pro missed or couldn't get to bite.
I haven't fished an Open since 2019 since I had to have my hips replaced due to a disease, but I plan on making a return to the Opens as a Co and hoping I can get a win.

Great advice! I’m a new co-angler fishing in local tournaments and I didn’t know what was expected of me or what exactly I should be doing when fishing from the back of the boat. This info is definitely gonna help me be more efficient in my next tournament, and hopefully help me help my fishing partner put more fish in the boat. Appreciate you
