In my line of work, I used to see kids (about 19 to 20 years old...still kids to me : ) that had become victims of financial crimes on line. The saddest part was sometimes parents would refuse to help saying he/she "should have known better." Why would they know better? They only know better if someone teaches them. Even though my daughter heard all my stories about predators online, she still had problems. What helped? Checking my kids phone. People act like I'm crazy when I tell them that I check my kids phone. Kids simply don't have the tools to fight back and protect themselves, so we must protect them and fight for them. Great show! Much needed education for families! ❤️
I saw this on television for the first time today. I'm glad to see someone use their platform to bring more attention to this issue. If you're buying your child(ren) phones, tablets or giving them access to computers, you have all rights to observe what's going on. Let them get mad, they'll get over it. Try to create & keep the line of communication between you & them open.. The same energy you use to catch your man or woman cheating or suspected of cheating. Use & invest the same energy in the minor children. Sometimes checking the adult children is necessary, if need be. Be careful out here yall...

That’s a good term for even adults to learn because a man approached me on Instagram claiming his friend had sent him my nudes and he tried to use that against me to get more for himself. Sextortion. That little girl is so lucky to have family that take the time to look out for their daughter. It’s scary when it’s about control and there’s no respect but i felt their love in that moment for her.

I find it interesting that people have been so blind to this for so long. I used to go on video web chats back in 2000 (YES, nearly 25 years ago!!) and have some pretty explicit chats with random men because I was curious. My parents had no idea what I was doing, but that was 25 years ago. I don't think there's any excuse not to know what's going on these days.

you have to search what legit modelling agencies looking for.... it isnt most tiimes the beauty your mum sees..eg .fashion models usually tall so if you re not , forget it..bikini models have to have stunning figures as well as facial beauty , are you that top 5%? Are you that girl at school that most agree is the belle or are you just good looking or scrub up ok with makeup. Its a reality check and so defer to adults in your life for opinion and dont fall into the trap of fantasy and dreams without the goods. I m posting on tictoc videos of my cats and people follow me, so while i wait my video uploading tictoc shows me posts of my “friends”. Some of them are underage girls doing things on camera. I always wonder what are their parents thinking. Why their parents allow them to post videos of themselves dancing in swim suits when they look like 12. Are they even supposed to have tictoc at that age? I personally have grown up sons by now, thanks god when they were small there were no smart phones and tic toc, but parents, wake the hell up. There is another show called Web of Lies & some one was targeting boys! The boys actually thought it was "normal practice" to have to show nude photos in various states of arousal!!! I had a hard time believing that they felt it was "normal." Of course they were being scammed & those photos were shown all around.

Thankfully, she was found before this scumbag could get his hands on her. For crying out loud. Sex and human trafficking? Get real , and wake up. Too many have lost their lives to this horrific parents nightmare. Don't post any photos online. Because you could find yourself in a situation that could lead to you your death or beaten. The best approach is different for everyone. If they did it is because they are ready to talk about it. It might actually help them realized that what happened to them is an example to help other children. That what happened to them would not be forgotten after the offenders went to jail. These young women are very brave. Thanks to them for being so brave and inform parents/kids.
sometimes exploiting the trauma can be very healing and help give it narrative sensibility, which is essential for healing. I felt really bad for all of the victims :(

I think she did a great job of not sensationalizing it. I really appreciate how she sticks on the topic and doesn’t make politicalized statements about the gender of the predators. Who gives a shit if it’s “instilling fear,” it should! Especially if it helps to keep a child from being victimized by a predator.

I feel this could have re-traumatised these young women. I don’t think it was the best approach.
