It's completely primal programming for a man to want to be the breadwinner, back when they used to be the hunter and gatherer. It's not society that makes men that way. It's instinctive, it's primal wiring.

Mel this is what separates you from those other shows on daytime tv. The other shows typically are just apologists for women. They talk about relationships but only from one perspective and don't get down to anything. And the men who they have on don't give real opinions from a man's perspective. Mel, keep showing that the same issues women have are the same issues men have with women and with themselves.

Wonderful show! So I just hit the part with the fellow who's expressing concern about getting older and having no friends, just being overall lonely. If this is something anyone reading this is concerned about, and you're 65 or over (or younger honestly. I'm in my 30s and have gone to help out) I just want to suggest Senior centers. Senior centers are amazing! I have seen 1st hand the good that they can bring to the older communities' lives. They provide meals, companionship, sometimes there's outings and what not, they're worth checking out, donating to, and/or volunteering at.

If the comedian man's family is short on money and the bills are late, why shouldn't he find a way to make some money during the day? He apparently works the clubs at night. It's one thing if the wife makes plenty of money but another if they are having a hard time making ends meet. I don't feel that was addressed. Man #1; he is right .
He may be feeling inferior to his wife .
I used to make more money than my husband. He felt less then and became more and more controlling . He would take my earnings ( I have my own business). He would control where I buy anything including food . I felt that even though it is our money I should not be controlled and I'm living within our own means .
The common things were looked after by me and little extra I could spend as I please.
He wasn't a good partner so I needed to compensate with material things .
    I divorced him .
Can't be controlled and manipulated . I took a male role of the household and my spouse didn't know how to find his place in the house . He should not complain that he is cleaning floor or folding laundry. I worked 12-14 -6 days a week he was working 8 -5days a week .
He wasn't a good father , never went to our son's parent teacher interview in our son's life , ever!

NiNi Na Men who are loving and respectful will empower women. I’ve known both types of men. If a man treats a woman like a doormat he is a Narcissist. Look up toxic relationships v’s healthy relationships. When I asked my grandpa the most kind man and who was married to grandma over 50 years - “Papa what does it take to be in a great marriage?” He thought about it and said “RESPECT.” He taught us love how he treated her, his children, and myself and my cousins.

I know what you mean. In my experience such men are a bit sick or not fully healthy or where they need to be emotionally or mentally. If someone offers you something good ( listening, caring etc) it's normal to say thank you and show kindness back. That is normal. So don't spend time puzzling on this for men who act abnormal with this. 🙂

Blessed And highly favoured Which is why you should truly take your time to get to know people and check for any red flags. It is easier said than done. The problem is with most people, is that they stay in situations when they see red flags.

No friends? My Dad liked to hunt and fish, and he worked in an all male environment, so he had lots of men friends. That was in NW Quebec. Do some volunteer work -- lots of men at Habitat for Humanity, Rotary club, Lions club, Masonic Lodge. You will meet lots of nice people. Find a place to meet together that isn't a bar.

Also in Texas people are super friendly. I know because my dad's family is from there. In LA people are more competitive. Also I am from Oregon where it is easy to meet people and in California, in general, in my experience it is harder because a lot of people are transients. My husband and I would meet couples we liked and then they would always move to another state or country!!!

But Im curious to what happen to the chosen few to tell a secret that was supposed to air during the show? I was among the chosen to spill a secret and was wondering if there is going to be clips of the men who told there secrets? I can't find the clips any where.

I am the sole breadwinner in the family and work as a healthcare professional in a foreign land. My husband and my 5 kids were solely dependent on me.I missed all those times when my kids were growing up and at school. By the time they graduated college, I have not even set foot and seen their Alma Mater. It was my husband who was with them all those times and this caused me personally a lot of pain as a mother but as human beings, we cannot have and cannot do everything as much as we wanted to and wished for due to our own individual or personal limitations. The financial situation adding the great distance between me and my family was the cause of this division; they are so far from me - they are on the day side on face of the world while I am on the night side of the Earth. Thanks be to God all five of them finished college and all became professionals.

Lol yes men have lustful thoughts that never stop, its the same for women as well. Just have to find a logical partner and when the trust is broken the relationship is then broken in some way shape or form. From there its a choice of repairing or releasing it. Was definitely nice to have an all male panel and audience, this would and could go along way to helping break toxic issues in general.

🤔 other than the depression I relate to every single thing discussed deeply... and I'm a woman 😂 my self worth is determined by success ✔ I feel shame if I'm not doing as well as my partner ✔ I have trouble having/maintaining friendships in adulthood while my guy talks to his friends everyday ✔ issues with lust✔ I appriciate these topics being talked about because the majority of things out there are focused on womens issues and honestly... I relate to very few of them and I'm really not sure why that is.

The best couple I have ever known is my Aunt and Uncle. They lived in San Francisco so perhaps their lifestyle was easier to live. But my Uncle is an artist on many levels and she worked in the legal field. He was also a Viet Nam Vet. They had one child later in life and he was able to provide some financial but they also realized early on that he was able to provide a wonderful gift to their son, the support in education and artistic expression. She provided financial stability and maintained the foundation. No one would have ever believed this couple would have produced a son who would have chosen Catholic Priesthood as a life path but he did! If you believe for one second that they didn't support him completely, think again. He is their joint contribution to the world. - All of that stated... they had their times like any other couple. He also took care of my Aunt and still does; on levels that women want and she always understood he needed time to himself too. They just celebrated their 40th anniversary and they love that they have never spent a day or night apart. They both are very balanced within their masculine and feminine worlds respectively. Oddly enough, they both had very difficult childhoods. So.... it can be done, folks. I love them so much. Both of them are amazing examples of relationships and how they can be.

Re: Friendships...that is true for females, too...if we want friends we have to work at it and pursue friendships and maintain that connection, especially in building a new relationship. And I am not talking about a romantic relationships, I am talking about "best friends" type of friendships.

Listening to the Guy about not having Friends...I understand the loneliness....I moved from Florida to Tennessee 17 years ago in a very dark time in my life...and never felt so left out in an Area that suppose to show Southern Hospitality and the Bible Belt ..I have a few friends but am not included in any of their family get together's etc...I don't have any family close to me and spending so much time alone is a new experience ...But its also a growing and reconnecting time for me to rediscover myself....I'm an older women in my 60's and feel that we live in a very ME world....Not so much lets be friends because we connect its a more of how can I benefit from my friendship with you ...I feel being a Single Women that is independent, attractive, smart, and happy, causes jealousy and insecurities among people...One thing that has added to my life in so many ways is when I discovered small dogs...Nothing compares to Unconditional Love ....One other thing its never to late to learn and change those things that are just not quit right in your life .. whether its yourself, family, surroundings, or interacting with life its self....I so enjoy the rareness of Mel Robbins ...Why beat about the brush ...life is really way to short wasted on the small stuff...A lesson Learned late in life ....but LEARNED....
