Hori was kind enough to give Aris a review unit, and he's spent a few weeks with this stick - enough time to form a few thoughts.

Sold. Haven't bought an arcade stick in 5+ years, and this looks like the complete package. Nice AD Aris.
Ik its a year later, but how is it? Was it worth it?
@@goombaboomba593 it's a year after your comment but i have had one for a year now and it's my most used stick since I love it so much. Big recommend
Whats the lore on that celling fan?
Borrowed for his Noctis cosplay
Gamandizer he hit it with a garbage bag
Gamandizer He was drying out some polish sausages on strings tied to the fan.
The weight of them broke the Blade.
The bong smoke from the twitch chat melted one of the blades
he needs to "reprace da brade"
"It was designed by Sako - you know, that 100 year old execution God from Japan?" LMAO
I love it when Aris talks trash about Smash players
deezzazter alhabsi why
have u smelled them?
Majin Muto2 yeeeaaaaa.... Lmfao I wish that stereotype wasn't true. When I wanted to play some games in my college game room it smelt like a combonation of chipotle and subway.
Same, I used to like watching it, but I became tired of it (and I have no problem with it) but it’s just all good fun just don’t take it seriously and you’ll realize how hilarious aris is
Tryhardblackguy What'd you expect from grown men playing a kids game for most of their time.
"So much DNA you could probably make another Aris"
LMFAO
Your Madcatz fightstick is nice, but the engravings give you no tactical advantage whatsoever, unless you were planning to auction it off as a collectors item
FruitsbootG You're pretty good. 🤣
Aris spends $200 on a new fighting stick, but still won't call a handyman to fix his fan.
Are you stoned ? The stick is a sponsored gift by Hori
does aris have a sea of fight sticks laying on his floor or something
Jan Ludwig Payumo yes
He actually has shelves of sticks in his room, he's shown it before in a video a long time ago
He just pulls em outta nowhere hahaha
He keeps them in his beard
Still the most compelling arcade stick reviewer in the business.
”you gonna be comfortable on this stick... It's very big”🌚

انت رمة لا تنسى انك وعدتنا باكاديمية تكن وسحبت علينا !
n0pants my good dude. the twitch link in the description's busted man
thanks, fixed
You don't need worry about Smash players stealing your stick, they'll take one look at it and be really confused
playapiano666 they'll look at it once and try to ban it
they'll ban the stick but are okay with having a busted gamecube pad that allows people to cheat
smash is trash and dumb to smoke
I really missed Aris Stick reviews
He didn't mention it, but Noir layout has a bigger gap between the joystick and buttons.
This is the same stick I use. It left my Qanba Dragon sitting in my closet. It's simple, clean and not obnoxiously huge. My favorite stick ever.
Josopp it's heavy enough that it wont budge or move around on my lap but not a boat anchor like the dragon. It's perfect IMO. The metal finish is also really great. After a long play session. Still feels clean no prints ect.
@@xLastGambit how do you feel about it now?
Aris is right. I take a baby wipe to my te2 every 2 weeks
Hori Premium VLX is my favorite stick! I just had to add a thin padded tape between the top plate and the frame so it stopped making a huge noises from two metal parts hitting each other and also added some sound dampening padding inside and now it feels like a tank. I’m having a 6 button brushed aluminum top plate made for it too. I’ll make a video when it’s ready
@@TommyL514 I made the panel out of thicker metal and powder painted it black. You can see it if you search youtube for Arcaded Beast Seimitsu 40th Anniversary unboxing
kwanbuh oblivion
I want aris hard arcade stick inside my tournament mode
jealous of char are we
This video should serve as a model of how to review and compare fight sticks.
I still don't know if I want this stick or the Oblivion more though. The Obsidian is a gorgeous piece of hardware.
Kairo _CC lol. Aris has changed it to Oblivion 😃 It is now written in stone. Thanks for that heads up on that sale, btw. What website?
If you have the opportunity, test them. Either with a friend, or in a cool/gross store that let's you test them. Best way to decide.
Still good for 2019? Looking for pro level stick that will last for a couple of years.
Aris really knows his stuff very interesting video.
He's very much a veteran in the FGC world lol
The only complaint that I have with the Hori Fighting Edge arcade stick controller for the PS4 and PC is that it is not compatible with the PS3 and that is a bummer.
Is it easy to replace the hori stick/buttons with sanwa parts? soddering required? A bit confused cuz sanwa has a 5 pin connector and Hori having 6. Any help/experience in modding is appreciated.
I’m sold. Arcade shock has mods with Sanwa parts. But I’ve been shopping and I keep coming back to this. Beautiful look. I have a HRAP N3 SA currently.
anthony fantano sure did a wild change to his reviews kappa

Avoidthony the Puddletano here, the FGC’s busiest internet beard*.
Does it work on PC?
I`m between, this, Panthera and Real Arcade Pro N Hayabusa. Working on KI Steam Edition without any extra software is a plus.
Whats a good stick that has xbox compatability as well? Thats the main issue I've had with finding a good stick under 200... A lot of them are xbox/ps4 exclusive but I play a lot on both
Why is the stick so big though? Does surface area matter for the feelz? Wouldn't you put it on the table?
You should hang all the arcade sticks you don't use on the wall in the background slap some LED lights around the mounts and poof you got yourself a nice background just a suggesh.
Luckily (corrected) he is a grown up man and not some idiot strapping shitty LED to everything they own like some 10 year old.
luckly
Woah, take it easy redname.
Thank you for the correction, not a native speaker.
That might be the gayest shit I have ever heard.
How long was that fan blade missing? Lol
Masterneo5 you must be new..
Adrian Garcia i was here before the flower breaks and armor aris lol I guess i never noticed
getting mine this week. excited as af
A year later
So how is it?
where's the promo codes at?
So a hori rap 4 kai, or pro N are crap? Cuz I was looking at those for a first stick lol.
Just ordered this a few hours ago. It'll be my first stick. Taking your word for it Aris!
How'd the stick turn out ?
Would you recommend this stick or a qanba obsidian?
"designed for old people"
that cracked me up
9:25
the og FE was $200 as well actually, even the white one. You can still look up the WNF videos where they debuted and Valle is talkin about em with the dude from Hori
I'm having a hard time between choosing the Fighting Edge and Razer Panthera and this is one of the best reviews I've seen
Yeah my TE2+ gets hella grimey after a few play sessions. Gotta wipe it down with a cloth pretty frequently.
Noire layout also has the stick further from the buttons than the Vewlix, that's the main appeal to me .
Also isn't there a risk for that metal panel to rust ? It was a big issue on bottom panels for people playing in their shorts (that's why they're padded now). Hope there's a protective coating or something.
Gamelon it's steel not iron
You know steel rusts right? :D
Anyways it prob doesn't rust but you could check out their website, might say there.
no_luv really? I thought steels main gimmick was that it doesn't rust
hmm never get dirt under my TE2+ sticks, i think OG TE2 might be a different story
If it's like the Virtua Stick High Grade, those screws in the top could potentially rust due to sweat.
It would help if you demonstrate how the stick works with games.
I've been wanting to get a stick for awhile because playing pad for an extended period of time cramps my hands up, and this looks really good. Once I get enough money I'm gonna pick this up.
Man watching the first two minutes after victrix announced the pro fs with chun li or ryu for 50$ more at evo is hilarious. AvoidingThePricetag
Should I buy this or a Panthera for my first stick?
What's Aris's opinion on the Panzer fight stick?
I love the review, tried sharing it to my step brother who uses fighting sticks alot. He says Hori sticks are trash, and are like using part from a dumpster lol. It would break in two weeks 😂😂😂😂...idk much on fighting sticks. But, this one looks nice. I wonder if the stick itself can be changed though. I don't really like the ball top. Wondering if it comes with the other kind....forgive me if I don't know the name lol.
I heard Hayabusa lever sometimes registers opposite input after returning to neutral is that true ?
Talal Alosmani yea, if you yank it forward and let it return to neutral quickly, the recoil might trigger an unwanted input. I used to bother me but I got more delicate and cleaner with my inputs so it’s a non issue. Getting a Korean lever to try so we’ll see how that compares.
@@codenamenot47 how is Korean lever feels like ? i tried to buy one but it is out of stock on most sites
Can anyone confirm if you can swap the lever out for a different one? Wanna switch to stick for Tekken but I'm not a fan of the ball-shaped levers, but nowhere sells high-end sticks with longer levers and I'm a noob so I dunno how to modify sticks and whatnot
Das Juda I believe you can
That's good, spent so long researching different fightsticks to make sure I get a decent one but I know nothing on the subject aha. Since getting PS4 I had to drop the high execution characters I was playing in Tekken because PS4 pads are the worst for fighting games, so now's a good a time as any to make the switch
can it be customized to have a korean crown top (instead of a japanese ball top)?
spactacular believe so
does anyone know a good korean lever stick(bat top) price range:150-180 ? i am currently using a hori rap4 japanese stick(ball top) and wanna see how a korean stick plays.
patrick 0998 same here thinking of an etokki
Ben Hutchison I can vouch for the omni Korean edition it's amazing and easily moddable
I recommend trying the 309MJ as well as your typical full collar 309 or Fanta.
Smallest to consider is an old SE if you can find it for a cheap
bruh i'm almost sold. I got the rap n right now and i HATE that plexi-glass grime/buildup lol
I got this shit because of this video in 2023 getting ready for sf6 and T8
I hope this thing becomes available in Europe at some point.
personally got a lot of ghost ups going to neutral on the hayabusa stick...not a fan...but the case on this stick is sick.
I have a TE2 and it's so true. Love my stick but can't lie,hah
This vid is basically Aris (and n0pants) lowkey asking Hori to sponsor them lmao
Hori already sponsored this stick.
I can't read
GBFGO_PLAYER bamboozled
I hear the ps4 touchpad on the back of the stick doesn't work on PC so resetting the practice mode is slow.
Can you buy this in Europe? I can't find it anywhere :/
Tiago V. Don't think it available to the UK n shit
Is this just ps4 or does it include pc aswell?
Stick reviews PogChampuuu
I'm sold
aris why is your ceiling fan missing a blade
Hori RAP VX-SA master race checking in. Tippity top tier, Hori knows their stuff.
Yeh I'll watch the ad at the end
What happened to the missing fan blade?
i hope the Fighting Edge doesn't show sweat, My TE1 has rust on the bottom cause of all the salt and sweat.
I live in a third world country so I don't have the budget for a stick so Ive been playing pad this whole time Tekken 7 is out. Is converting to a stick still advisable? I'm scared of relearning Nina iWS+1.
No its not advisable with your current situation. Also don't feel the need to own a stick. Pad and Stick are both viable and the pros and cons are too minuscule to switch over. If you're comfortable with pad, stick with it. No Pun Intended.
Stick to your guns, brew. If your comfy with your pad play, great, there is no need to convert.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I just feel like with a pad I can't really backdash or Hayashida step. It's so hard to learn when I'm really just all by myself.
practice, don't think switching over to stick will magically give you the ability to backdash. It's just as hard.
TheicMoggy So dont think stick is answer on all execution problems. Tekken just hard as fuck. You can play good on pad but you need so much practice. For me when i bought stick it was like a new world, absolutly different input and all shit about that. But my fingers doesnt hurt after few minutes playing on it.
Opening of the stick ?
Does the Qanba Obsidian get as dirty as the MadCatz?
RodCU nope
This is a fine review but the point about the aluminum top not showing human DNA isn't true.
While there's no crevices to get your dead skin into, if you're sitting in a room with lighting you can see hand smudges and finger prints all over the thing that build up very quickly with use.
Aris gets this wrong cuz he's sitting in a stoner dojo with a broken ceiling fan.
Also this stick is enormous for the average mortal, you need a TALL backpack to carry it around.
As if I wasn't having enough financial turmoil, yoi had to bring my attention to that beauty. Need.
About to get my first stick
The Combo nice
8:53 Damn those Smash players
Also with the madcatz tes+ gets lots of gunk under the art even.
Lol I was just looking at Aris' stick reviews yesterday
One of his ceiling fan is missing a wing. It has been bothering me lolol.
I bought this stick for decoration.
I keep falling in and out of wanting to buy an arcade stick. I have actually bought a smaller, cheaper stick and had middling enjoyment out of it. What you're saying with not buying a cheap stick I could see as semi-valid, but really just depends on person. I'd definitely upgrade to a $200 dollar stick, but I wouldn't consider it a waste when I think about timespan. If I bought a $40 stick and then a year later buy a $200 stick, the disparity there isn't really as significant as if I bought the expensive stick again in a month.
What usually holds me back from buying the stick is the investment of relearning how to play the games with it, not so much the money investment. If I can't find myself committing to the transition after spending $200 on the stick, obviously, that's no bueno. That's why I would say the cheaper sticks are a viable pick. If you're going in not concerned about the feel of the stick and know the premium sticks will just feel better, and just aren't sure if you'll be able to commit to re-learning how to play, then try a cheap stick and practice on it for a while. Not everyone who buys a stick will stick with it.
I bought one because of this video
is this better than the razer panthera?
Hopefully they get released in the EU/UK soon.
that ceiling fan has seen better days
I love aris reviews
People trying to sell that stick for 400 on eBay when its 200 on amazon
would've been better if the review was on a greenscreen
Is it a square gate ?
these things are so expensive, wish i could afford one
ZapBoy 200 buys a good stick dude
But they're worth it my dude. You're spending $200 on a stick that is going to last 5 years or more. The only down side would be compatibility with future consoles, but if you're playing on PC you won't have this kind of issue.
i made one myself, you can buy sanwa parts at 50$ on aliexpress and build them on a case.
He likes simplicity.
9:10 what's wrong with us smash players? Lol. Aris is hilarious and does not give a shit, I love it
I have the mayflash f500 and modded it with sanwa parts...its the best for me cuz its universal so I can play xbox ps4 and pc
I can conform the TE2 rumor about shit is TRUE, i have te Xbox One KI TE 2 stick modded with a brook board and i have to remove the plexi from time to time to clean it of shit underneath, but some things dont got away like scratches and other shit, might have to replace the whole plexi soon, i like my stick clean and shiny, but its nice otherwise, easy moddeble , can be opend with a button, has LED lights under the buttons so i switched color to clear Blue to make it more my own style and its epic.
the only bad thing about Madcatz TE2 or TE2+ is the dirt that collects under it that Aris mentiond, otherwise its nice, i also tried a friends Razer Atrox & man its glorius as hell,it also got a button to open the top, perfect for modders alike.
I’ve had the Madcatz Streer Fighter fight stick, TE1, TE2+! After a year of owning the TE2+ I sold it and I kept my TE1. The TE2+ has some great features as it works on ps3, ps4 and ps5 with no issues to play tekken 7. However the plexi making that creaking noise got annoying. The top panel felt inferior to the Razer Panthera and even the TE1 felt more solid.
Does it have select button?
Seems legit but as a pad player I would prefer It If manufacturers made premium fightpads as well.I have the Hori fighting commander 5 and Its the best pad I've ever used but I'm on my second one because of the horrible build quality on these things
So right about the TE2. I pick that shit up to play and it's so fucking gross sometimes, it defies physicis how so much shit gets under the plexi.
Whata ya think of etokki?
I like the hori sticks the Hayabusa feels good.
