Some people actually said Gen 4 didn't do much for Pokemon. I laugh at them because Gen 4 made the most significant changes to the franchise. The Physical/Special Split alone completely changed the way the games work!
I got a switch lite last month. Missed every game released since ultra sun and moon. I had no idea breloom would be this high tho. Really cool informative video.
@ParadoxX 0213 100%. Got sword first and actually loved the linear feel with the tease of what could be. Got Arceus the same day, I'm about halfway through I think. Haven't gotten the flying flute yet but got sneasler. Grabbed BD and am loving that right now. Had pearl as a kid so using some new mons and taking advantage of the underground. Violet was a find preowned and I Cant belive how lucky we are to have a game like it. I'm lost the whole time and it's amazing.
Next time will be gen 5. As I learned from False Swipe Gaming, that was the gen were weather was permenant and very influencial. Pokemon with weather setting abilities were great, even if it wasn't actually a good pokemon in battle. It was also the gen where Dragon and Fighting types were the strongest they had ever been. I will be looking forward to that video.
Top 10 gen 4 Pokemon introduced in gen 4 (no legendaries/starters): Staraptor Garchomp Luxray Roserade Lucario Weavile Rhyperior Electivire Magmortar Togekiss
why is luxray on the list but not rotom, most of these kind of suck in dpp (weavile is ou but only because of when garchomp and salamence were roaming around in the tier) magmortar isnt very good, electivire is ou by technicality (ended the generation with enough usage to remain, but isn't good enough to justify being in the tier), gliscor isn't in the list, excluding non-uber legendaries is weird to me, since they're comparable to psuedos (like garchomp), infernape and empoleon are also really strong, way stronger than luxray, starptor, electivire, magmortar, weavile, and rhyperior
As I recall Clefable lived in UU for basically all of Gen 4 and can't remember seeing someone use one at all back then. Can also say Flygon was not used all that much as it was too easy to counter.
I have 6 Pokemon tattooed on me. I've got Mega Lucario, Gardevoir/Darkrai fusion, Charizard, Absol, Raikou and Ash Greninja/Seismitoad/Whimsicott Fusion. I am a die hard Pokemon fan here and definitely love seeing old Lucario in here
It was actually pretty strong and used in OU back in Gen 4, but not nearly to the level this video makes it out to be. Mystic's memory of Gen 4 competitive is flawed IMO.
I have a vid suggestion for gen 1-3 top10 strong pokemon(up to you if its just a normal playthrough or compe) before the special-physical split then top10 strong pokemon after it that are also from gen1-3 i kinda wanna know who got the bad and better end of the split
Worse: banette and sceptile. Not really that good before, worse after due to less options of stab moves. Better: Literally every dark type not named houndoom, special flying type and physical dragon types overall.
@@itsme558 yeah I forgot about gya lol, thx. Other than that, pokemons that use hidden power as a physical coverage kinda got the axes as well. But that's kind of it I think.
Infernape should had been in the Top 5. Yes, it has fallen off recently according to FSG, but it's a phenomenal Mix Attacker, way better than Lucario 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Would be nice if he could’ve made this list of just the Pokémon who appeared in this gen not from past ones 🥴 majority of the list weren’t even Pokémon introduced in this Gen smh 🤦🏾♂️
When people say competitive they're always talking about like online on the games right? Not the cards? I guess if people meant card battles they'd say the TCG right? Idk shit about competitive fr. Just always played casually
How could you not put Infernape on this Top 10 list!!? It’s just as unpredictable with its move sets and items as Lucario and it was considered to be one of the best Pokémon introduced in Gen 4! It may be frail, but it’s fast and hits like a truck with both its physical and special stats! 😡
it had some really strong STAB options like close combat and flare blitz, but got checked by the rise of nidoqueen paired with the infinite sandstorm from tyranitar and getting wore down by their chip damage before it can do any serious damage, and then allowing latias in OU later in the gen. it was strong until they realized it cant do everything
I think the top 10 best Pokemon for Gen 4 are 10, Lucario 9, Rotom 8, Flygon 7, Heatran 6, Skormiry 5, Infernape 4, Magnazone 3, Latias 2, Tyranatar 1, Jirachi.
I swear, if Mystic puts Clefable on one more list, I will explode.
A wild Clefable appears.
Clefable used Explosion.
Katz fainted.
At the time Pokemon Diamond, Pokemon Pearl, and Pokemon Platinum Clefable was a Normal type Pokemon not a Fairy type.
Yeah no kidding 🤷I keep expecting mons from the generation the video is supposed to be about, then he brings up clefable and flygon and such
Oh boy. You will see the pink blob at least one more time. It's really that good.
It is gen 4 and it was not as annoying cz close combat is stronger than iron head sludge wave.
Some people actually said Gen 4 didn't do much for Pokemon. I laugh at them because Gen 4 made the most significant changes to the franchise. The Physical/Special Split alone completely changed the way the games work!
it all started with gen 3 jump to GBA, but yeah then for competitive gen 4 made sweeping changes.
I’d argue the introduction of abilities was more significant but to each their own

Gen 4 was the first time I EV trained my whole team. It showed me how OP doing that was for in-game, and how essential it was for online battles.
Ev trained?
Not sure how to go about that in a vanilla campaign without cheating
@@AndersonWave17 seriously? You just check what ev each pokemon give and keep track. Why would that be difficult?
Anyone notice how Skarmory’s gen 4 sprite looks almost exactly like its gen 3 spirit in emerald?

Breloom is cracked in high levels of play in gen 4

Staraptor
Garchomp

Lucario

Infernape #1. Crazy how Clefable is above Lucario smh.

Gen 4 will always have a special place in my heart. The only gen I have played so much in. Best gen in my opinion!

Nah infernape was pretty goated in gen 4 OU
Especially on the remakes
Strange how scizor was only an honorable mention when it shaped the whole metagame, along with having a 30% usage, the #1 highest at the time.
How dare you exclude Infernape, “Patrick Star”! 🤨
I like Eviolite Clefairy with friendguard better than Clefable
eviolite didnt exist in gen 4

Rotom Fan has the most obsolete worst ability ever. Flying type with levitate as it’s ability. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No love to Infernape on here, even for honorable mentions?
Am i the only suprise to not see Gengar in the top 10
Latias is clearly not as good as her brother, Latios. 😒
I've heard Clefable's Magic Guard in gen 4 negated the effects of Life Orb, which basically gives it a free attack boost.
Toxic Orb Clefable plus Facade can prove to be annoying as well.
5. Gliscor
4. Weavile
3. Infernape
2. Lucario
1. Garchomp
I used to have a clefable with toxic, protect, cosmic power and softboiled. Gave it a chople berry too. 🤣
Isnt Bisharp from gen 4??
Gen 5
gen 5 and bisharp benefits way more from gen6 and 7 mechanics than gen5

Yeah. Though it fell quite hard, its higher than lucario at the very least. It's does not even get honorable mention, which is just disrespect lol.
lucario is generally better than infernape, infernape is good but lucario just does slightly better than it
