I like how her name is revealed to be "Ana Cassini". Cassini was the space probe that ended its mission by plunging itself into the surface of Saturn, never to be seen again, but sending out data until the very end...

i was going to point out that this Video was uploaded 1 year BEFORE Cassini plummeted into Jupiter. But the dates were too close to not be coincidental, *this music video was released almost exactly 1 year* # before Cassini plummeted into Jupiter, an end-of-mission which was decided on over 3 yrs prior (at least). So yeah the dates & names could have been specified.

I don't think anybody is going to read this, but I'd like to share it anyway.
A couple of years ago I went on an exchange to Edinburgh, Scotland, for a fall term during my undergraduate studies. It was my first time living abroad for a couple of months on end, I was very excited but also fairly nervous. When I was younger, I used to be afraid of leaving home for extended periods of time, so this was quite a big step. Contrary to my own expectations, however, everything went exceptionally well, I found dozens of new friends from around the globe that I am still in touch with to this day and I got to explore Scotland which - if you have never been - I can only highly recommend. On my very last day, I was even sad to leave which I never would have guessed before going there. To mark the occasion, I decided to hike Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh in the early hours of the morning so as to be at the summit at sunrise. I started walking around 3.30am when it was still fully dark and managed to make it to the top just in time to the see the sun come up. When I sat down at the top, I put on this song and listened to it while watching the city wake up. It was incredible and whenever I hear this song now, I always have to think back to that moment.

A bit more backstory from GERIKO, creators of this video "“Right from birth, people receive a robot for their daily needs - cleaning up, games, education, social and sexual life - until the day it signals the end of their right to live on Earth,” the duo explains.
“The robot then follows his owner to one of the Anvil facilities, activating the machine that will end the citizen’s days. During this transition, the body is destroyed and a part of the robot is recycled as a server/funerary urn.”"

    • @teknoboy15
      @teknoboy15 8 місяців тому +35

I feel that the robot doesn’t signal your end, it is your choice with the world being so over populated. She has the walk and look of determination and confidence, this is when she will move on from her physical place on earth. She is able to choose her own dimension onto which she will end.

I’m a linguist and I took the time to frame by frame the messages scrolling. Here’s what I can gather:
Ana is uploading here consciousness to a system that lets you select from different “digital planes of existence”. Ana chose one called Anvil.
In Anvil the scrolling text appears to be messages from the other consciousnesses that populate it.
Deconstructing the text it appears to be a sort of neo-English combined with evolved emoji speak.
The messages are all the the effect of
    “Welcome to Anvil”
    “Greeting Ana with love”
    People telling her their names
I think there may also be a welcoming party planned.

When I was 19 I took shrooms, and it was like I was turned inside out. As a child, I was very extroverted and loved being around people. And after the shrooms, I felt disconnected from everyone and everything around me. I just wanted to alone. I am learning to feel happiness from within myself, not running from myself. It is not long now before silicon merges with brain matter. True, we do not yet have a complete science of the brain, but I suspect this will occur at least by the end of my lifespan, and certainly before the 22nd century. One way this will benefit us is to symmetrize our input/output ratio of information. The amount of information we *_absorb_* at any one moment is vastly more information then we could potentially *_produce_*.
On average, you receive about 5000 bytes of visual data everytime you look around. The information is parsed and only the most important is retained in the brain. But you could not "output" nearly as much information, and certainly not nearly as fast. You are constrained to four basic forms of output: writing (slow), typing (faster but still slow), talking (faster), and body language (very fast but limited in range and topics that can be communicated). This is the i/o problem we are currently facing.
Basically, when technology merges with biology, the amount of information we can output should scale with the amount we receive. I look forward to our future.

That's the point though, when artists/groups become "mainstream" they change. Their music changes to appeal for their wider fanbase and as a result they tend to produce (worse) music. Also, LORN is just one guy so you're a terrible person for not knowing that.

    Couple of things:
    1. I love rotoscope (the harsh black/white, no-gray color pallette)
    2. The animation reminds me of something from adult swim, an influential part of my teen years, and it is very nostalgic for me
    3. Lorn managed to encapsulate that feeling of loss without words and I love it.

I think what it was about, was her living her final moments. Because at the end, it had a vase that the robot grabbed and left with that had her in it and a date of birth and death. What I think happened was she went in there and she sat in the chair and chose what she wanted to see and experience in her final moments. Where she wanted to be as she died. It's kind of sad honestly, since the city was very large and as the guy mentioned in the description something about overpopulation, that was probably her only alternative to seeing something that wasn't buildings or technology. It was most likely her only form of seeing real nature or- whatever kind of acid trip she went on-

This raises interesting questions on what it means to be human. It's my dream to have my mind uploaded into simulated reality so I can be whoever and whatever I want, relive my memories and do the impossible without limitations. Do all of those things lose value simply because they are virtual? Is the virtual world not also real? What does it even mean to be human? Is it our consciousness that makes us human or our physical bodies?
