I think you should have added a step after recording and before mixing... Editing. Mainly just trimming regions and adding fades. Definitely an important part to a radio ready mix. This and the mixing series are great. Lots of great tips and it's always good to see how someone else does things, even the basics. I'd definitely download this song when it's done. Thanks for all the great vids and style.

@@bigstunna2049heck yeah man! That's actually a suggestion most people make as opposed to treating your whole room if you don't have that as an option. I don't have a closet big enough to record in, so I ended up making a cheap vocal booth from PVC pipe and packing blankets

you never want to be singing down into a microphone. its bad vocal technique as a vocalist because it makes breaths more difficult to take and singing in higher ranges more difficult.
A. Ray Woods a microphone placed above the mouth can bring out more nasal qualities of the voice. A microphone below the mouth more of the throat resonance. It depends on the singer which is best.

I erased your number
From my phone
But I cant delete
your smile from my mind,

that I will keep hidden
Chorus:
Deep in my mind
Deep in my mind
verse 2
and if I see you again ,
somewhere around
I’ ll fade away
And mix in the crowd
‘cause my beaten (toren) heart
Won’t stand with (survive)
Another wound
Now I am ready to start all
From the beginning
But your smile again
Appears in my mind
Chorus:
Deep in my mind
Deep in my mind

good job
Dope recording and Great Help!! I like how simple you teach each step
I just have to say this... This is the best youtube channel for music producing etc stuff!! Love this channel, been subscribed for a while now ;) Liked this video!! :D
I thank JESUS for you, ive learned so much And when I get on Im coming to see you. You the man Gram.
Send Jesus my regards when you speak to him. i've been meaning to thank him for all the good he did. He's amazing how he creates humans out of dust. Just amazing! Thank you Jesus. Hell yeah
You're a blessing!!!!!! I just realized I wanted to produce my own music and had no idea where to start! Long story short your videos have help me out a TON. Thank you so much! ❤️
Man, such great content and delivery. Love your videos.
As a complete amateur who has fumbled about with GarageBand a bit, I have loved this video series and I'm really looking forward to the follow-up series on mixing. Thanks.
Wow!!! Love your song!!!! It’s beautiful!!! Great job on the video too! Thank you for the lessons
Graham the GOAT for this video i wish you were around when i very first started recording
Wait, why is direct monitoring not an option here? I always mute the pro tools track and monitor myself directly from my mixer to avoid latency.
Yeah, it would seem logical to just flick that switch that says "DIRECT MONITOR" right above the headphone connector.
Thanks for all the great vids and style.
most helpful tips on the internet, thank you!
Never hate on this man!!! He is real!!! This helped me!!! I won't let anyone tell me other wise!!!
I'm on a desktop. Fan is running, and it definitely comes up in the mix. Is it ok to put myself in a small closet filled with clothing? I'm limited on options. I have the exact same tools you have, except my mic is a $100 Audio Technica condenser mic.
I have the same problem I'm not sure either if a closet would help
@@bigstunna2049 I tried it out. It's officially my vocal booth. Works great.
@@truthseeker11 thx I'll have to try it out
@@bigstunna2049heck yeah man! That's actually a suggestion most people make as opposed to treating your whole room if you don't have that as an option. I don't have a closet big enough to record in, so I ended up making a cheap vocal booth from PVC pipe and packing blankets
@@drewdoesdrums3 thanks that's also another method I'll try
Loving this recording help but honestly this song is extremely good, riff, lyrics, melody, additional fills etc. awesome
These 6 video tutorials are just so amazing! And this one is the BEST!!! Thank you Graham!
The Pre-Chorus is awesome btw...
I have learned so much from watching your videos through out the year, I've downloaded your six steps and will use it for my new album. Great work!
insanely informative for beginners .
I really appreciate being walked through what to do and as I am lucky enough to have a week of annual leave next week I AM going to record something in the next 7 days! It's in black and white now, I'm going to do it! How can you not be inspired by this series. Thanks so much Graham! :)
This video here is very informative. Thanks for all your hard work.. Gb
Graham, this song kicks ass! Hope you're gonna make it a single or a part of upcoming EP!
Great vid as usual! Looking forward to the mixing section! All the best, friend!
Where can I get this song? Spotify or SoundCloud or something like that? Would be great to hear the end result.
Graham, thanks for sending out the PDF. But please help us make the videos for the whole process. The way you explain stuff in a simple fashion is outstanding!! Thankss a lottt
Is there anywhere I can listen to the full song because it's gr8
I've watched the entire series, and I've really enjoyed your presentation and delivery as well as the tips! Keep up the great work!
My only problem in recording is that I always forget my own lyrics so I’m looking at my phone the entire time
You don’t need to do it all in one verse bro, takes time to get use to so just start off by reading little by little.
I hate that I just now found your videos. I watched all 6 of this particular recording and the way you taught it, made it so understandable. It inspired me to make some of my own music. Luckily, I just so happened to have the Scarlett Focusrite interface, which made it a little easier to follow along. Your song sounded great! Can't wait to start watching your other videos.
That will be a dream if I can recorded a song in a real studio!! I love to sing!!!!😁
You are a savior my friend! thank you so much! Im a big fan of your philosophy as well as your music! Specially your song called "The Tree" ive been listening to it non stop!!!!!!!!!!
Dude this is Sick! Thank you for breaking it down step by step. Awesome work. Earned a Sub from me.
I'm new to all this so this helps alot thx man.
This series has been fantastic - thanks Graham! Looking forward to part two :)
Ok I play the “Hey what’s the name of this tune” because this song sounds just addicting.
Wow , There is so easy to be singer covered song , You showed the truth of music to me at first , Thanks so much Totally , My American Hubby , He is the best gift of my life , so worthy for my 40th' s birthday of decades ^^
This is a good motivation!
These videos are always so well done. Great information. Free teaching. Truly a revolutionary work.
Any reason you had the mic diaphragm higher than your mouth? Just curious.
It helps to open up the airway--smoother vocal response. Also having the mic positioned this way minimizes plosives/pops.
You can also place it a bit lower than your mouth as well.
you never want to be singing down into a microphone. its bad vocal technique as a vocalist because it makes breaths more difficult to take and singing in higher ranges more difficult.
Never had a problem with plosives using proper distance. Indeed breaths can be difficult when mic aimed dead on.
A. Ray Woods a microphone placed above the mouth can bring out more nasal qualities of the voice. A microphone below the mouth more of the throat resonance. It depends on the singer which is best.
Thank you so much... I'm a young 16 yr old girl..and I love to sing .. I've had this curiosity...about recording a song ...I started to worry I'll be so confused when I should record...❤️🎶thank you have helped me ❤️god bless you
maaaan, you're my best youtube discovery yet! :-D
"There are actually 6 steps...in the process...before release to the world." *head hits piano* XD Thanks so much for all of this guidance, though. I am just starting to try and capture in a recording what I've been doing 'live' for years, and this was a great place to start...from building the studio to recording!!
Can you end the whole series by playing the whole finished song? Do it like a release party.
Here I am in part 6. First I must say this song is BEAUTIFUL!! Please send me a link to this song.
Also, thanks a great lot for this 6 part series. Given a huge boost to go back recording and do better this time. Thanks a million mate!
