When this happens with a tractor around here, we just wait a couple weeks for the ground to dry up harder deeper down, then put it in low gear and drive it right out.
Did he shat a chicken when he saw that screen shot of the jeep in lake. Thats crazy how dried up that lake is. Up here in the great white north theres so much water its redic.
I absolutely love the camaraderie between the whole team. No matter the job, you guys always seem to have a good time. Plus its always good to see you guys bring Ed with. Ive been taking care of my dad who doesnt have much time left at all, and i swear your videos are one of the few things to put a smile on my face and keep me going. Love you guys! Keep up the awesome work!
There is no good news on the internet and its cold and overcast where I am. And then I find your latest adventure. I can't stop laughing and am ready to face the world again. Many thanks to Matt and the whole team for reminding me there's fun to be had no matter what you're doing.
Georges and BleepinJeep save the day again, im beginning to see a trend here 😅. The mud was insane though, it looked so dry on top I would never have guessed it would be that soft! Great teamwork guys! 👏
I have wheeled from Florida to Maine to California to Washington and most everywhere in between. That was by far the worst Gumbo Mud I have ever seen. I'd be surprised if a set of boggers or tractor tires would've even made a difference.
The message I’d like to leave with you guys today is we didn’t take it serious. 😂 I love this channel! Such a great team and lot of laughs. Making a crappy situation a fun one. Keep up the awesome work!!!!!!! 🤜🤛
I always say being a professional isn't about doing the job perfect everytime, it's in how you fix a mistake when they do happen because they always do.
Canceling the Dentist appointment was the right call by Lizzie! You can always get a tooth pulled out but it’s not everyday you can help pull out a RZR, Jeep, traction Mats and a Morvair.
Matt, you and your crew have a great gig. You get to have fun offroading in various challenging environments, help other people, _and_ get paid to do it. I envy you guys.
I have never been to Utah but watching you go on calls is like a getting a personal tour of some amazing country. I know the keyboard cowboys have it all figured out from their devices in there recliners but I have to say that the thing I'm most impressed with is how well you all work together. That says a lot . No yelling or complaining or drama. That speaks volumes. I understand your work very well and no situation is 100 percent predictable it's usually your best educated guess. My son is 2 and always wants to watch Matt on his adventures. Excellent show 👍👍
You should go to Utah. Seeing the scenery on your screen vs in person is night and day. Drove through Utah on my way to Vegas and my wife couldn't stop taking pictures. I grew up in Alaska and when I see video from there I know what it looks like but its a huge difference when you are physically there seeing it. Take the trip, you won't regret doing it.
Utah is the one place I knew I'd live in from the first time I set foot in it when I was 9 in 1978. I moved here in 2000 and haven't regretted it. The snow took some getting used to, but the breathtaking scenery I wake up to every morning makes up for the cold winters! Come visit Utah. I promise you'll love it!!
Thank you for not leaving those traction boards or any other trash behind. Your attention to detail on leaving things at least as good as it was before the customer got there is much appreciated
Matt & Company, I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now. While I’m genuinely intrigued with your projects & some of your more challenging recoveries, I find myself watching more recently just as a pick me up. Love your relationships with your family & friends. Every episode has a happy ending. “We’ll get them out”! Keep up the good work!
You guys need a land anchor! Especially being out there in the desert. They don't hold a ton of pressure but it's usually enough to get you pulled out of most situations. Not the "dead man" style but the shovel head style. Great video! 😆
Came across a guy on the beach that was testing boat anchors. He hooked my recovery anchor up to compare to his boat anchors. His good boat anchor held about 3 times as much as my anchor does. Was clearly a wast of money.
I really dislike Powell mud. I call it “Apple Pie”. Top hard crust, and a gooey bottom. When venturing out to the, now “dry” lakebed, I carry a really large and heavy boat anchor and shovel. Dig a hole, place the boat anchor in it, cover it and winch to it. It’s like a “deadman” anchor we use in canyoneering. Works very well, as long as the boat anchor is large, with an aggressive angle (it goes deeper as you pull on it). It’s often a pain in the arse to get the anchor back, but it never fails me. I’ve been stuck in that same mud, multiple times. But got ourselves out every time!
Very interesting video. Razor called for help. Morvair then called for help. Jeep then called for help. This one was not scary as other rescues, but it was complicated! Thanks guys, your videos are wonderful.
Glad to see the videos keeping coming. Enjoyed this one a lot! Loved the wheel well cam and Lizzie giving Trevor a place to sit. If those ropes were any longer you could have done it from home.
Hi Matt, and everyone, just to say how much we enjoy watching your vlog’s, we are in the UK and just love watching you all especially Lizzy and Jamie and how they get involved too. We have traveled a lot in the states and can relate to some of the places, nearly every evening we try and catch up with you all and enjoy every one. Now in our 70’s but still young at heart. Keep up the great work and good luck and best wishes to you all 👍😎 Denny & Marie
Can't stop watching this channel. It's grown soooo much. Glad You tube community is behind Matt and the crew 100%. I hope to drive out to Utah and meet Matt and the gang soon it would be a great honor.
Yes, you're right. My wife and I had that privilege last October. We met just about everyone with the morr team. We even went out to lunch with the crew. It was an honor. So, make it happen!
Who ever does the editing does a really good job that makes it more fun to watch all the fun. Now everyone knows or should know that driving on a lake bed is not the best idea. Thanks to everyone for sharing these wild recoveries all in one location. And it was Lizzy that made sure it all worked out for the best. Carry on and have a great day.
Matt: "Did I just make a fool of myself ?" said the grown man riding around the desert with a bunch of goofballs looking for other goofballs to rescue?
Matt says: Did I just make a fool of myself? Yup! Not the first time and not the last time! LOL This was a very difficult recovery and well done by some great guys with the right equipment and experience. Everyone, including the customers turned a difficult experience into a fun time. Thanks to everyone involved for a great video!
@@benladd4791 No. Not in that kind of mud. The customer tried to use some, that's what they were excavating after they got the rzr out. There's nothing solid at the bottom for the tracks to go into, they just get dug deeper
Not gonna lie, love all you guys but Lizzy is my favorite. She's always ready to jump right into it and always has a line or two that really makes me laugh. I buried my Tahoe like that a couple of years ago when my daughter gave me a "hold my beer" moment 😂
What a fun time that was. The best times I ever had 4 wheeling was when I got stuck. You had to get stuck sooner or later to prove you can get yourself out one way or another. Don't be embarrassed. Own the moment. You're awesome at what you do.
We moved to from Cedar City UT to Page AZ in early spring of 1965. Lake Powell was still filling, and Lone Rock was not known as Lone rock because you could get to it in a dune buggy with big balloon tires. I was there in 1983 when the plywood splash boards were installed on the dam spillways. Now Lake Powell's level is back to where it was in 1965. Amazing!!! It will be back!!
To answer your question: You did not. First, you got the customer out - and first. That showed that the were the most important. But also you had the experience and knowledge to know that this place was a tar pit and getting the Morvair out was not a slam dunk. You guys are awesome!
I inspected construction jobs for 25 years. The only time I got stuck was a wet grassy hillside, about 50 feet from the top of 30 foot cut slope. Right next to the blaster's bunker. Every time I gave it the gas, the jeep slid sideways down the hill. I had to have a bulldozer pull me off it. But I also put in 4 wheel drive if was muddy as soon I got off the pavement and never pushed my luck. I was with several guys that would wait until they were stuck to put it in 4 wheel. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it don't.
No no .... you haven’t made a fool out of yourself 😊 , actually you’ve made just more great content for your viewers ! Dictionary covers the phrase “ sh**t happens “ as unpleasant things that sometimes happen in life ! It’s why we watch 😊 love it too !
Greetings from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire in the UK. I have been following your programme for over a year and liked it very much. Have subscribed now and would like to see the Banana back in action with Morvair. Keep it up guys, you guys are great and doing a great job especially your charitable side.
I was always told..."Do a Job well or not at all"...So, Matt, You really did a good one here!! Like Myself, put the humor to it too. You can only get mad at Yourself or laugh it off.
that what I was thinking then I remembered seeing movies of WW2 tanks getting stuck in the mud, as heavy as the snow cat is she would have been stuck too
@@777poco Everything can get stuck. I saw a D10 Cat stuck so deep that the top deck was even with the ground. The engine was covered with mud and water, and could not be started. It took 3 excavators to dig it out. In the spring in Nevada, when the frost goes out of the ground, normally solid ground turns into bottomless pits. Then 2 weeks later it is fine.
If you ask the question "Did I make a fool of myself?" You know the answer is yes. Getting mad at a situation doesn't help. You have to laugh it off. That's why I love watching your crew.
Matt, I am in awe at your humility. You are the most successful person I know and you are still very ready to admit your opps moments! Your humanity shows through> God Bless you and yours!
When plowing fields, if you get your tractor stuck, it's really stuck. Nothing short of a bulldozer can pull out a full size 4x4 tractor with dualies on front and back. Secret trick to save yourself; run a log underneath the machine in front of the back tire, wrap a chain around one end of the log then hook through the tractor rim, repeat samething on other end of log to the other back tire. Keeping a sharp eye on the log, try driving forward. The log will lift you out of the rut, but you can only do a half rotation so be prepared to repeat the whole process a dozen times. But it will get you out of that hole.
Im always impressed by how calm Matt stays when things just go wrong. He would have made a great surgeon! Would the SnoCat have been an option for this kind of rescue?
Sorry for my bad english but i'm French. Matt is always the same" Keep cool and rest calm". Each problem have its solution. Matt knows enough friends to come and help him. It was a very great rescue
Yep this was a good one. Thanks Matt, and your help, for keeping me entertained after work and my need to unwind You and your crew are the awesome. Your video crew is the best. (coming from an video and editer my self)
Trevor had me dying riding up front ON lizzy trevor is a great person on the channel it sucks when he isnt there on the recoveries really great narration of the vids thanks for another great video gang 👍
MORR, you guys put out some of the best content on UA-cam and you deserve every subscriber! Also, here's a shout-out to Roger Dunn for always being helpful when viewers have questions. A few others do this as well; I appreciate that you use Matt's own explanation or his exact words in reply. And we can't forget Colin Richardson who coordinates the notification squad :D
Awesome ‘recoveries’, plural! I’m hoping to get out your way soon just to shake your hand Matt. You, by far, have the best content. Everything about your team and extended family make me feel that life is still normal. It’s calming in a weird sort of way. 🙂 May God Bless all of you and keep you safe.
Its crazy to see how far yall have came I remember when I first started watching the camera crew was just that only filming now everyone just does everything together I love it. Keep up the great videos guys I watch them all.
Land anchors are a great idea of you have the room for them. In this case, Trevor would have to ride on it die to lack of room. I do know exactly what you mean but I am sure space is a real limiting factor.
,wrap a chain around your spare wheel ,dig a hole ,then back fill ,there is your ground anchor , if you got 2 spares ,2 anchors ,used this loads of times
So glad I discovered this channel a few months ago. It's fun and informative and everyone involved is likeable. As a high school video production (also automotive) teacher I appreciate the way video production values have improved from the first until now. I also greatly appreciate that I can watch without a constant stream of beeps of profanity. Keep up the good work. It's nice to find something that's worth watching!
I have said before in the UK in the mud with no trees we use a land anchor. Matt please look into it she will save. Be you will need to dig it out after.
Always love to watch the rescues here (rare to see the Morvair stuck as here) & team effort here inspiring, but commentary by Matt about the low water level of Lake Powell (& seen in the news) is truly alarming.
Holy crap, that was some MUCK! 😲 My guess: even if you had a tracked vehicle it would have gotten stuck. Dried lakebeds are no joke... Btw: I like how Trevor embraced the "Do you have a spare tire?"-thing... 😁
Love Ya'll s crew adaptive way of doing things & Ya'll s attitude when it all goes south amazing where y'all just do what needs to be done. Awesome all the way around.
I love your channel. Everybody is so nice and happy and easy-going. I love the community that you have grown and the respect for everybody and everything you guys all show. I have been watching for a few years but I am now dedicated as in the last six months. I can only hope to get stuck in southern Utah so I can meet you guys one day.
Brings back memories from last year. My son got our Ranger stuck, then his truck. Then I got my truck stuck. Next up was a 50 horse Kubota a 75 horse Deere then the 135 horse Case. Long night and still have 2 straps that are permanently joined together.
Love this episode. Funny all the way. Great recoveries for all the crews. Lizzy is so good at whatever she needs to do. I liked what she says at the end " My life is full of weird things like hanging out with you two " I was laughing so hard that my son came up to me saying what's up so I replayed the entire episode and he laughed as much as I did. Keep em coming

Sometimes four wheel drive just gets you stuck fifty feet further down the trail.
The difference between two wheel drive and four wheel drive is how far you walk when you're stuck.

But I also put in 4 wheel drive if was muddy as soon I got off the pavement and never pushed my luck. I was with several guys that would wait until they were stuck to put it in 4 wheel. Sometimes that works, and sometimes it don't.
Like my pops used to say never say whoa 😮 at a mud hole
No no .... you haven’t made a fool out of yourself 😊 , actually you’ve made just more great content for your viewers !
That's right !
Don't take yourself too seriously, we only live once and NOBODY gets outta this world alive !

Never a “truer word said”…😊👍😃
Great job. I was expecting Lizzie to give Matt a shirt so he could hold it up and say "I made a call..."
Anyone can make a mistake..its what you do with a mistake...you guys make the best of it...in every situation
“Cause I’m defeated”.
“But your feet are right there!” Lmaooooo These are are hilarious
It's more entertaining when things go wrong, as long as no one gets hurt.
Also, the correct vehicle for this recovery was the snowcat.
But if you get that stuck there is nothing in the world getting it out of that mud...
Thankfully doesn’t weigh much so long as you can spin the tracks corvair would pull it 💪
that what I was thinking then I remembered seeing movies of WW2 tanks getting stuck in the mud, as heavy as the snow cat is she would have been stuck too
@@Stumper52 You'd need one of those crazy screw tanks for that job.
The clips of Colt & Company were hilarious 🤣
My large winch truck with 1000' of cable works great for pulling out said tractors from whatever distsnce is necesary.
Im always impressed by how calm Matt stays when things just go wrong. He would have made a great surgeon! Would the SnoCat have been an option for this kind of rescue?
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery matt you need a sisu-nasu
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery
Yes, likely.
Looks like the tracks (paddles) are aluminum. So the sand would chew the hell out of it.
Sorry for my bad english but i'm French. Matt is always the same" Keep cool and rest calm". Each problem have its solution. Matt knows enough friends to come and help him. It was a very great rescue
@@pilous60 Your English is fine!😁👍
I can't speak or type French, so...
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery these lake rescues could use those traction boards you tested. But new yellow ones that are twice the width.
"I do weird things all the time, my life Is made of weird things, like hanging out with you two" Lizzie 🤣🤣🤣
What a classy lady.
Matt, one of the best video recoveries yet, thanks for being honest about getting yourself into a unbelievable recovery.
That was great even Colt got stuck
MORR, you guys put out some of the best content on UA-cam and you deserve every subscriber!
Also, here's a shout-out to Roger Dunn for always being helpful when viewers have questions. A few others do this as well; I appreciate that you use Matt's own explanation or his exact words in reply.
And we can't forget Colin Richardson who coordinates the notification squad :D
I was today years old when I learned the MORRVAIR is named after Matt's Off Road Recovery
Think this might have been one of my favourite videos. Great to see everyone staying positive
Even when things go bad...you guys still look like your having a lot of fun!
These guys are just like one big happy family, and they make you feel like family, matt an Trevor is the kind of guys who I would hangout with
Great panoramic views, and pals helping each other out in a time of need.
Great channel and a special group of people .
Fun recovery. Loved Lizzies end shot!
I been watching for a long long time and I’ve never see you stuck It happens to everyone now and again
Just make a call !!!
Trevor needed to shake his fist and say, "Matthew!!"💪
"Dude Perfect, EAT YOUR HEART OUT!" 🤣🤣🤣 Loved it Trevor!
Only the professional driver can get stuck the deepest! It’s not an embarrassment it’s a badge of Honor🤗🇺🇸🇨🇦
Excellent Editing Tucker!!! 💻🧑🏻💻
You called it and Matt delivered 😂
Trevor- you’re always so funny!!! ❤️🐞
Matt, have you looked at land anchors? I've seen them successfully used for self recovery, though I'm sure that they are not the answer in every case.
Land anchors are a great idea of you have the room for them. In this case, Trevor would have to ride on it die to lack of room. I do know exactly what you mean but I am sure space is a real limiting factor.
They were in a lake…sort of.
,wrap a chain around your spare wheel ,dig a hole ,then back fill ,there is your ground anchor , if you got 2 spares ,2 anchors ,used this loads of times
Well it took hundreds of hours of watching but I finally saw Matt stuff it up. Thanks for sharing. No shame, your record is still unbeatable
Same here! Their video production has been getting better (and funnier) with every video.
I have said before in the UK in the mud with no trees we use a land anchor. Matt please look into it she will save. Be you will need to dig it out after.
Why do you keep posting this same comment from multiple accounts?
@@JeremyAkersInAustin it's not me. They've copied and pasted my comment. If i could stop it i would.
Always love to watch the rescues here (rare to see the Morvair stuck as here) & team effort here inspiring, but commentary by Matt about the low water level of Lake Powell (& seen in the news) is truly alarming.
Dang, lake Powell is looking SCARY! Great video as always though
Holy crap, that was some MUCK! 😲
My guess: even if you had a tracked vehicle it would have gotten stuck. Dried lakebeds are no joke...
Btw: I like how Trevor embraced the "Do you have a spare tire?"-thing... 😁
Happy for y’all! Recovery is growing in business and social media. Soon y’all will become a global name with hopefully a TV SHOW!!!
This was definitely a great recovery! Fun to see your crew and and everyone having fun and makin jokes
Brings back memories from last year. My son got our Ranger stuck, then his truck. Then I got my truck stuck. Next up was a 50 horse Kubota a 75 horse Deere then the 135 horse Case. Long night and still have 2 straps that are permanently joined together.
To really complete the adventure and to close the loop, we needed the Razr to pull out Blue Steel!!!!!
I wonder if Matt gets one of his own t-shirts. Because he had to make a call 😂
He should have to get a MORR tattoo for having to make a call.🤣
@@eaglespetty This comment is so underrated!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is what I like to see. Seeing a problem and pulling out all the stops to fix it. Even unorthodox methods. Provides options for the rest of us.
Did you see the bit with Lizzy at the very end??
Matt better get himself another shirt, HE MADE THE CALL. Perks of being the boss.
I said the same thing haha
Matt: "because I am defeated..."
Trevor: "your feet are right there!" LOL!! I think most people didn't get that joke... but it's friggin funny.
best channel, wonderful people. God bless them all.
Line of the day. "Matt: Do you know why i sound defeated? Because I'm defeated....... Trevor: But your feet are right there". Lol
