Kojima should just do what Remedy did with Alex Casey in Alan Wake 2.
Make a character that's basically Max Payne, has the same voice model and voice actor but they don't call him that because Rockstar have the IP rights.

What I realized after completing Death Stranding is that everything makes sense and that the trailer itself was made to intrigue and confuse us. The same is happening here. Kojima always had this high-value production look to his games with a dramatic tone, but he loves to put comedy, cringe, nonsensical, and paranormal bits throughout his games. I really like his style because no other company offers the same experience. It's not for everyone, but for those who like it and give it a chance, it's one hell of an experience, especially in such a saturated market.
You hit it right on the button. DS is not for everyone and kojima never claimed that it would be. But I personally I enjoyed DS1 and I'm looking forward to whatever madness he throws at us in DS2.
Yup. I went into it thinking "Well this is completely inexplicable and was only made to be as weird as possible." Then after I beat it it completely made sense beginning to end, I was really shocked at how well the story was told. So I see this trailer and I'm like "That's alright, I'll get it all by the end."

Although it would have been really great if the music player wasnt confined to Norman Reedus' room. That annoyed the shit out of me.
The lore is an undiscovered gem though.

most games that have trailers as long as Death stranding 2, you would think you saw the whole game. Being a Kojima game, we probably saw 5% of the game.

Stellar Blade is the one I'm most looking forward to. I got Nier Automata vibes. It's like Korean Nier Automata enhanced. I also love that they are not afraid to have an unabashed beautiful woman player character with similarities again with Eve and 2B (with her particular "assets"), with her purpose and I believe being an android as well. Other similarities with the environment (deserts, abandoned facilities, and vending machines save points), premise (humans off-world, we send bodacious androids to reclaim Earth, helping survivors), beautiful music and similar dialogue. They all really capture me. The game is REEALLY good-looking and beautiful. Here's hoping it's good and more of these Korean projects get more limelight here in the West.

Judas is taking for god damned ever because Ken Levine is the king of scope creep and indecisiveness. He comes up with an idea, has the team spend months working on it, then changes his mind or adds stuff that causes them to have to start over. There were a lot of reports about his directing style and issues over the years. Apparently he's hell to work for.
Probably why he found development so stressful in the Bioshock days. If I remember that thing about him saying that correctly.

"Death Stranding 2" looks amazing - weird, but briliant. It is not even out and already a masterpiece. I love it.
As a fan of the NieR series, I'm real excited for Stellar Blade, been waiting far too long just to even get news. It seems promising despite the silence. My fingers are crossed it's great.
Dragons Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin are gonna be serious GOTY contenders I think.
Death Stranding 2 looks astonishing 🤯
I absolutely loved the first Death Stranding. My only issue is that its one of those games that requires you to completely clear your gaming schedule and play only it. Also, wish they found a way to bring it to vr.

Stellar Blade looks ABSURDLY GOOD. Damn shame it's a PS5 exclusive and not coming to PC.
Also, Dragon's Dogma 2 continues to delight in the BEST ways.
It may come to pc later on like some other exclusives have. How long after? Who knows but I could see it happening
@@jeremyroberts8822 I'm so tired of the timed exclusivity. Same thing happened with FF7 remake and FF16. We STILL don't know when FF16 is coming to PC and getting a "maybe" for PC ports is just infuriating when original trailers showed they intended a PC release.

Yeah it’s an Elden ring and horizon forbidden west situation for me, I’m 100% getting DD2 over rise of ronin but that game does look good.

I still play Elden ring at least once a week, I’ve been waiting for DD2 for 11 years and there is a pretty high chance it gets a DLC, I might genuinely be playing DD2 daily for the next 4 years minimum

The death stranding trailer was 99% cutscene so that instead of the game having 10 hours of cutscenes, we only have 9:57 of cutscenes
I really hope the gameplay footage of SH2 remake is from an early build. The movements feel very stiff and unnatural.
I know I was less than impressed....after playing RE2 Remake, and Alan Wake 2.... it looks last gen. Maybe Konami doesn't have a comparable engine....
@@wkadalie The game is being made in Unreal Engine 5 so I don’t think the engine is the issue, Unreal is a very capable and flexible engine. I think it’s a combination of this game probably doesn’t have the budget it should for a big project like this, this being Bloober’s first attempt at a third person behind the shoulder perspective so making animations that look good for that perspective is a lot different than making good looking first person animations like their previous games, and it even says in the trailer it’s still in development with no release date. So I’m hoping that means it’s still a ways off from being finished. Because yeah, not gonna lie, I was pretty underwhelmed too with both the combat, the animations, and DEAR GOD THAT SOUND DESIGN. The first two not being great, I could somewhat forgive, but having piss poor sound design in any horror game but especially Silent Hill is an absolute war crime.

For me Judas was the highlight. Not a big stranding fan, not a big souls like fan, and Silent hill 2 remake looked pretty rough. That being said Judas looks like exactly what I want out of a Ken Levine game. Very excited for that one.

Bro I've always enjoyed Crash Bash on ps1 more than any other Crash game. Platforming is cool and all but nothing beats smashing polar bear cubs till the opponent falls into freezing cold water.
@@thebabyrhino not me, ps2 all the way, especially since you can fuse with a buddy when playing split screen, one is on the wheel while the other on the gun in the back.
Give the Sonic franchise a solid try, i think you'll enjoy it. Lore is shockingly deep, characters are endearing AF and consistently likable, some of the stories (SA, SA2, Shadow, 06, Unleashes, Frontiers) slap harder than they have any right to.
I was just like you, either ignoring or mocking Sonic with practically zero exposure to anything related to the IP until 2022 where I played them all in order (yes, all of them 100+) during military service and fell absolutely in love with them. It's an almost impossible franchise to hate once you get into the thick of things.

Yeah, the combat and maneuverability look cool, but god damn does it look outdated as hell. It looks like it came out before Assassins Creed Unity. I also don't understand why Sony is paying for another Japanese samurai game. They've got their own 1st party version of this that's coming out not all that long after Rise of the Ronin. Not to mention all the other samurai/ronin games on the market or about to be on the market. People are going to get tired of that look/style/time period before Sony's own game in that genre comes out.
@@ChaseSchleich rise of the Ronin takes place at a time in Japanese history that NO OTHER GAME has explored. Ghost of tsushima is very much just a generic samurai setting. While sekiro is also a kinda generic setting but has fantasy to back it up. The mid 1800s in japan were insane because in decades you saw japan become a superpower and get tons of western influence. I’m surprised no dev has tackled this setting before.
@@ChaseSchleich it looks about as outdated as elden ring. I don’t think it should cost 70 dollars tbh. Graphics don’t matter though. It will run at 60fps. My major concern is poppin issues. Elden ring sold 20 million copies and launched broken without fsr or DLSS. Nobody cares about graphics lmfao. Sony likely got this game as an exclusive early on as this is the game they’ve been working on since the original nioh so it has a long development cycle. There’s a few ways it can differentiate itself from ghost of tsushima. One is the setting I talked about. Another is the more fast paced sekiro inspired combat. Another is the open world design. I’m praying it follows an elden ring or BOTW approach instead of ghost of Tsushima becauee ghost was basically a more refined ubisoft style open world game. I’m hoping for either mission based like rdr2 or completely open.

@@Entertainment-ev6ob My man Like a Dragon: Ishin is a (mostly) historically accurate story and very fun as well. Doesn't fit into the category of souls-like, but it would be a disservice to ignore it while talking about historical Japanese games.
Rise of Ronin is a ghost of tsushima X Sekiro, gameplay and RPG elements are very good but the fidelity is heavily sacrificed for the sake of stable frame rates, with Final Fantasy, I think its THE game to check on 2024, Stellar Blade is just fine, Death stranding 2 is very ambitious,The best thing in this state of play was imo the new Kojima IP, which is likely to be released in 2028 as a PS6 game 😅

Death Stranding 2 looks absolutely amazing. The Decima engine is fantastic. The expressions and animations were great. No way I am going to play that though. Kojima cannot string together a sensible narrative to save his life, and that game looks like it will be more cut scenes than gameplay. Great setting and world building ideas. There's good stuff in there, but he needs to reign in his storytelling flair such that you can make a little more sense of it. Personal opinion of course.

Looks awesome? They're only showing 1 second gameplay clips mixed with cut scenes and with the HUD/info elements turned completely off. Then there's the quotes from the studio about the game saying it's a new type of live service and they aren't doing a battle pass, they're doing War Bonds and Super Credits with a Super Store! It's all marketing speak and deception to hide the fact that it's another grind fest, pay pig, live service game.
@@ChaseSchleich I've seen more of the game than this snippet, it looks awesome as a whole. Warbonds are battle passes, of which there are free and premium versions, of which the premium version is bought with super credits, which you can also earn in game. They will never expire, meaning you have as much time as you want to get them. the super store is the cosmetic store, which also uses super credits, meaning you can also earn them through gameplay. The fact that the new content "battle passes" never run out combined with the ability to earn the "paid" currency with gameplay is a lot more pro consumer than most games while still paying for long term development. Which I want. If YOU want to pay once and never again, you can just.. do that.
@@bluemoondm8629 and they showed a snippet of what was inside the first warbond which is 100% free and inside that one were super credits. something like 100 credits on one page and they also showed the price for a full armor set in the superstore which was 300 SC. so you can earn SC in game and in the warbonds and if those prices aren’t a placeholder, they aren’t even that expensive. dude is just doomposting above

To be honest with you, the state of play was better than the Xbox one. We got actual time frames. More Games, and actual dates.A stealth drop and a few releases coming this month. The Xbox state of play had much less games, all with vague release dates. I'm not into console wars. I just think Xbox gameplan is not a good one, and based on the dumbing down of it's intended consumer.
I like what I see, but Ill probably forget about some of the games since Stellar Blade isn't coming to pc any time soon. Death Stranding I can wait, since I haven't finished the first one.

Death Stranding 2: The quest for more walking.
This is the first one in a while where I'm actually excited for most of the games. Why TF did they decide to release that Ronin game the same day as Dragons Dogma?!!!! Not a good idea. I want both but I cant really afford both at the same time so it's definitely going to be DD2 that I get and then the other game later and unfortunately thats probably going to be what a lot of people do too. They should have pushed it back a little at least imo.
kojima is a visionary. he makes unique games. i, like many, made fun of death stranding, but once u give it time and actually play it, you can no longer call it a walking sim. i cant even explain what the experience was like for me. the game was unique without question, but more importantly it was a unique experience in my life. ive never played anything like death stranding. i think that deserves a ton of credit, bc most of these popular games are just the same damn game over and over. thank you kojima for being unique

The problem with the first game is that the game play was great and really good at times. But then relapse back to being boring for the most part. Hopefully they closed the gap

After playing RE4 remake and the last of us 2, Silent Hill 2 gunplay just looks so meh... like the bullet shots have no impact.
You comparing action horror to just horror with gunplay. Silent hill 2 isn't known for good combat. It's known for its horror. Don't play it thinking you going to be gun and running.
@@shirez1654 I've never played the original, from the remake trailer it looked very action packed. Even if it's got little action, I hope they improve upon the shooting that was shown so it actually feels satisfying
@allandm it doesn't need to tho its a horror game.. not action.. you will barely find weapons or have any ammo as they are insanely strong (at least in the original).

The camera isn't to low, dude just talks with his held way to damn high. That Silent Hill remake is lacking big time. That Dragons Dogma trailer has peaked my interest much more so than other footage I've seen, it's actually looking really good. Previous videos I've seen made it look boring and slow, but this one hit different! Rise of Ronin is essentially Nioh 3 with open world and that is not a bad thing! Looks insane to be honest and Team Ninja knows what they are doing, incredible game dev there! Why release it with DD2... It feels very much like Kojima is biting off more than he can chew. Lets see what happens.

Wow, just a better resolution makes all this stuff stand out. Watching a re-streamed version where the resolution was obviously a lot lower this all looked meh, but damn…higher resolution made a huge difference here.
