It's a game not for everyone. This sequel is for the fanbase and i'm excited.
Yes! Some of the best games were never made for a giant, mainstream audience.
that puppet looks like the toy from puppet master called blade.
I heard Kojima had his team Watch David Lynch stuff to get that vibe they wanted. LLL❤
bro, this makes me want to play the first game! never played before
When he said "so you chooses stick this time" i believe the sequel will be more action packed.
The people calling Troy Baker's character the Joker are obviously kids because his character is for sure a Crow reference.
Uhh...how old do you think the Joker is? mf been around since the 40s
@@jadendobson9614 Look at what the 1940s Joker looks like and tell me if Troy's character looks like him. People saying the Joker only because of Heath Ledger's Joker.
I got strong alice Cooper vibes. Also his guitar weapon ilhas to be influenced by the dmc3 guitar axe.
@@Sirin2099 Even before Heath Ledger played him, there has been long-haired iterations of the Joker.
@@jadendobson9614 Bro the first long haired Joker was the dreadlocked style one from the animated Batman TV show in 2004. so only a year before Heath Ledger's appearance.
I don’t understand how people think that Stellar Blade being like NieR is a bad thing. Yoko Taro himself said that he likes SB. Fans of NieR have been waiting for years to get something similar and now they complain lmao
im really hype for Stellar Blade, every gameplay trailer it shows since it eas announced it made me more excited
Yeah as a hardcore nier fan (nier replicant is my favorite game of all time), stellar blade is def one of my most anticipated games
same people be playing Palworld and praising it lmao
Stellar Blade may look and play like Nier, but story-wise it won't be on the same level.
@@MrDailyvid You may be pleasantly surprised. I say this as someone who has played both OG Nier, and Nier Automata. The devs making Stellar Blade has another other IP (Nikke) and it has been an awesome roller-coaster of good world building tied to a compelling narrative. The fan service element can only take you so far; that it has not only stayed relevant more than a year after release, but rakes in more revenue than other competitors (only hoyoverse consistently out earns them, and it isn't by a huge amount either; some months, Nikke passes HSR) says a lot about Shift Up.
Still though...This is their first foray into a AAA game. I'm actually more worried about the bugs/game-play loop.
We shall see come April...
Death Stranding gameplay is integral for setting up the whole vibe of the game though. Wouldn't be half as unique if you just got the instant gratification of reconnecting the whole country w/o going through a literal journey. The physics of the game alone are already something to behold on itself.
Agreed. And the game was way more fun than it had any right to be. It's way more than the sum of its porting and building parts
True
Yeah. I loved the gameplay. There was something soothing about forging your own path through a beautiful landscape, the whole time building the tools to overcome new obstacles and set up better paths.
I wont say it's "fun". But it somewhat theurapatic, like watching cookie being baked or paint drying (I'm not being sarcastic here)
That's the beauty of Kojima. He mades you part of the story, makes you feel what your character is feeling. Like in MSG1 psychomantis reading your memory card and reading your moves, like MSG2 and MSG4 trying to resist the electrocution torture and the microwave hallway making you press buttons like crazy and you getting tired of it.
My pants got a little wet when Kojima said that he's working on a new espionage game
😂😂😂 bruh I laughed too hard on this comment.
can't wait to hide under a box
A little?
I read "my parents" and I was life wtf, what year it is??
yeah kinda done with their whole focus on Death Stranding games albeit they are good games. I would love to see him and his company do more.
I saved up all my pennies for the Limited Edition Death Stranding PS4 Pro and playing this Day 1 was such a unique experience for me. Never had a game move me as much as Death Stranding did, made me want to connect and be vulnerable to people after playing and it just really helped shape who I am now
Unforgettable experience that you just 100% have to experience to understand
Could not agree more! Playing 250 hours of Death Stranding at the beginning of the lockdowns, a few months after my dad died, was literally one of the most significant experiences of my life
The catharsis of the final moments really hit deep. The last delivery really hits you in a way that few narratives in gaming have ever achieved.
Sad it's not really a lot of people's speed and they'll never get to experience it 😢 such a unique and beautifully deep game
@@Superabound2
Always the niche games are the best.
I skipped the whole DS2 trailer - not because I don't like the game, but because I liked the first one so much after playing it for the first time last year, that I want to go in blind for this one as well.
I understand exactly what you are saying.
I tried, but failed miserably 😂 I respect your self-control, & wish I could get that first-time experience as fresh as you’ll get! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Spoiler: there's walking in the game.
Lol exactly. I'm still trying to figure out what happened in DS1. ❤
anyone else here enjoyed the first game? excited for this one
I was going to say I enjoyed most of the games in the showcase, just realized you mean death stranding lol
Enjoyed the first game a lot! I guess some people had different expectations at that time
I loved DS. I’m ready for DS2.
i mean i enjoyed watching it...
Put 400hrs into the PS4 version before ps5 release. Cannot wait to invest much more in DS2
Man, I grew up playing Metal Gear on the original PlayStation 1. I’m hyped for Kojima’s next espionage action interactive movie/game.
Not much espionage on this one. Not alot of action too. I guess you could see walking as an action.
@@Rihcterwilkerhe’s talking about the one after DS2. Kojima said he’s gonna work on it after DS2 release.

Anybody else get extremely annoyed, when he kept asking for gameplay of Stellar Blade, when pretty much 100% of everything we’ve seen about the game, before this trailer, was ONLY gameplay?
Pissed me tf off and then say it just press X, cant wait to see him fail to kill the first boss
Because allot of people haven’t seen the footage of the game over the years. I can’t blame em. I’m sure that they’ll be a showcase that goes into it.
@@ELDENLORD89 Asmon himself reacted to footage of it at the PlayStation showcases, but I understand your point for others who haven’t actually seen it.
Yep, this was the typical story oriented trailer companies do closer to launch. Stellar Blade gameplay is well known by now.
Yeah, it's standard hack n slash, but looks really good. Looking forward to it.
Yeah a little, was also wishing for a bit more than a second of un cut gameplay at a time in it though
I think he's way off base about Stellar Blade. If he doesn't want to play it that's fine but the combat is looking like it's gonna be the best part of the game. The devs have even said it's like a mix of Nier/DMC and Soulslike. You can even see in the trailer when she uses the rest area that it says all the enemies respawn
His reaction to Stellar Blade is by far the most ignorant I’ve seen him.
Totally 😂 he was like this looks great this looks great then gets super impatient and freaks out about the combat having finishers and said it’s a story game comparing it to a walking sim. There are super extensive gameplay trailers already brother. I was like alright he doesn’t like it that’s okay. 😅
You have to understand that asmon is a goblin and his followers are even worse.
The dude is a wow player. It's fun to watch him in very short snippets that the editors pick out. Like 5 minutes out of 12 hours a day that he streams.
He just doesn't have the mental capacity to see past anything in front of his nose.
He sees a trailer that is mostly cutscenes, "the game sucks". He sees a game for 10 seconds "the game sucks" (the game being Batman Arkham knight and monster hunter world).
It's literally a Christmas miracle that he NOW playing various games and trying out new stuff because his gaming habits are the same as his living and eating habits.
Him trying out games like ff14, monster hunter, final fantasy 16 etc ... Is like him trying a new food, that "new food" being a nice omelette, a toast with ham and mayo, a hamburger with chicken (no, nothing as crazy as sushi or Chinese food. Or fruit like tangerines, kiwis, bananas, strawberries and blackberries. Are you nuts? Of course he has never tried nuts).
He is like a baby, getting new neuron pathways in his brain, so everytime he sees a souls like he is mildly interested because of elden ring that he liked, everytime he sees an anime game he thinks of final fantasy 16 that he liked.
Sometimes those new pathways can confuse him, like when people say DS2 for death stranding 2, he thinks of dark souls 2. That happens.
Almost every single game shown is cool and is for a different audience. I for once I'm a "gamer", I play everything except survival games, MOBAs and MMOs (too much time investment for games that don't give much back. They are just addicting and become a chore. That happened with Warframe, Neverwinter and dead by daylight. The games aren't even fun anymore but I'm still grinding them out cuz it's an addiction).
So all the games are cool for me, be it Helldivers 2 (the first one was PHENOMENAL), Silent hill 2 (it's a classic as much as re2. People complaining are too young to understand and those complaining are just purists that hate remakes in general. The gameplay of silent hill 2 was never good to begin with. The remake seems like the same gameplay but vastly improved, without going overboard and making it completely different), until dawn (the 2nd best point and click choose your own adventure type game. Yeah, looks like most kids have no idea what those games are, so they just call them "movies" as a bad thing), dragon's dogma 2, death stranding 2, stellar blade and especially rise of the ronin (the noob and other souls likes by team ninja have ALWAYS been fantastic action games. They never looked amazing but they play better than most western games. They just lack animation blending, that's all. Rise of the ronin looks like an amazing blend between nioh, sekiro and ghost of Tsushima. Sadly it's open world...but oh well. Guess it's gonna be more of an action game than a soulslike. Hope the difficulty is untouched cuz I need more difficult action games).
Even V rising looks cool.
This year is even better than last year so far.
Tekken 8, Helldivers 2, final fantasy 7 rebirth, rise of the ronin, dragon's dogma 2, stellar blade, death stranding 2, black myth wukong, Warhammer 40k space Marines 2, no rest for the wicked (from Ori devs), phantom blade zero, lost soul aside, mgs3 remake, silent hill 2 remake, arc raiders, marathon, metro awakening, maybe pragmatic finally, a venom PS5 standalone/dlc and so much much more.
@kato093 yeah this year is looking stacked so far.
Looks trash imo lolll gonna flop that presentation was so bad
Smoothbrain take on stellar blade. Has nothing to do with how she looks. This game has uad NOTHING BUT gameplay trailers, multiple. Amd theyre all fucking incredible. And the ONE time they show more depth in what its about, and "ew a story game" like what the fuck dude, go watch literally any other trailer for the game and see the combat being literally pure fucking insanity. Passing judgement because they finally show more than combat and you treat it like its immediate trash. Swear nobody has an attention span anymore.
The funniest thing about this, is he did react to the other trailers at the time, and he thought it looked good, lmao. Somehow he just forgot about everything he saw previously about Stellar Blade.
Right before that, he praises death standing 2 for being all about story 🤦♂️
@@GreatRaijin You wrote about what I thought. I don't know why he is so negative about the Stella Blade trailer when it shows what the game is all about, and I look forward to seeing Stella Blade as someone who loves Death Stranding.
Bro got defensive about his anime game
It's not as bad as his take on Helldivers 2, which is a potential contender for the title of Game of the Generation.
I guess he was playing 5000 hours of WoW when I was playing Hell Divers 1.
I have a friend who played too much WoW and he became ridiculously out of touch.
He doesn't behave like a pseudo expert though, so it's ok.
Lmao L take on Stellar Blade, there is a 7 min Demo in YT out for months if you really want to see the combat
It felt like he was just hate watching, skipping to the combat and when it was shown with parries and stuff dude just called it a "spam X game", dunno if when watching the shift up logo he remember his opinion that aged like milk of Nikke and went the same route for Stellar Blade.
@@insanianevi8089Yeah he was definitely hate watching lol
The combat for stellar blade looks a lot like the combat in Nier games, which tbh is bit "spam x" like.
It's fun but it's not the soulslike sekiroesque combat some of you might be expecting.
That being said, I'm sold, It looks flashy, it might have a cool story, and It looks like the type of game to have a banger OST.
It reminds me of the nier games, which are goated games, so I'm definitelly looking forward to this.
I was surprised how much I liked Death Stranding. Really looking forward to the sequel. Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, and Dragon's Dogma 2 look great as well. V Rising looks pretty good.
And Judas, can’t wait for that one

You will eventually use weapons as you progressed enough also I find it pretty chill and the story is unique enough for me to get immersed to complete it.

Asmon, what have you been living under a rock? Bro there has been many videos of the combat for Stellar Blade, a LOT. This vid for for all the people who didn't live under a rock and want to see more of the world.
Agreed 100% 😂 he was like this looks great ooo this looks good then he started tweaking and ripping into it. His loss I suppose but I’m sure he’ll take it all back if he plays it.
I just went back and saw his reaction to the first PlayStation showcase trailer, and of course he thought it looked good, lol. Ignorance and bad memory automatically makes someone’s opinion irrelevant. He’s just giving a pointless emotional reaction at this point.
Honestly a lot of people haven't heard of it and haven't seen the combat, and a lot of people have seen it. It's not like it's a game that is shaking the entire industry

Why are you accusing a cavemen 'living under a rock'?

For people who didn't see any gameplay in that trailer, look again. There are plenty of scenes of actual gameplay but it all looks like the cutscenes do, insane quality
Stellar Blade gave me that NieR Automata vibe and I'll be playing it if its close to that type of gameplay
Heavy inspiration from an amazing game as well as others
There's tons of gameplay trailers. This was the one time they showed off depth beyond combat, and asmon has the smoothbrain "ew story game" take like always. If anyone wants to see the combat, go look at other trailers. The combat looks insane.
Yup! Nier Automata is imo the greatest video game ever made.
@@HomemadeIndieNier automata has one of the greatest soundtracks I’ve ever heard and Stellar Blade looks like it’s going to have a banger track as well.
I just can't play with a main character like that. She just seems so out of place, she just doesn't fit the whole setting. Not even mentioning that she imo just looks so damn bland, as to be expected by korean devs. But everything else looked so damn cool, like the character design of the minor npcs and monsters, but nah the main character and matter of fact the whole main cast look so boring, ruins the game for me. Pure fanservice and i'm just over it at this point. Nier automata had a fan service main character too but atleast she somehow had interesting design that fit in with the whole nier world.
Kojima is one of the very few developers that take chances on creating something new and different. He's unhinged and brilliant, far too few people seem to appreciate his creativity.
It's literally a sequel.
Well you have to remember most devs are just hired help and in for the money, kojima considers himself a perfectionist and constantly tries to challenge himself.
That's nice. Now if he could put together a game that doesn't actually suck, that would be even nicer. @@MGrey-qb5xz
DS is a fetch quest where you just walk and delivery things. Gameplay is just a means to an end, just a pretext for him to pretend that he's a Hollywood director with famous friends.

It was nice of Hideo Kojima (Ever Praise 🙏) to allow these small indie devs and companies like Sony to have some runtime on his Hideo Kojima State of Play (Directed by Hideo Kojima)

Remember memes?
No publisher wants to share a show with Kojima. Imagine showing your shitty game after a Kojima trailer
Kojima loves himself too much
@@CukMcGeeWell I would be proud of myself too if I managed to make a multimillion dollar franchise for a company that exiles me. Then for me to make my own studio that rivals them while making the games I wanna make that spawn a new multimillion dollar franchise. Nah I guess I shouldn’t give myself any credit because ppl will fee insecure about themselves. Yup that’s it
It's interesting some people kept referring to the Samurai/Higgs fight sequence as being a cutscene and not gameplay. Yes, that is true. However, Kojima does in-engine cutscenes, and generally carries the action/movements from the cutscenes of his games into the actual gameplay.
You will, in all likelihood, have a boss fight in DS2 where you're doing a bunch of cool, crazy acrobatic shit like you saw in that cutscene.
Yuji Shimomura is involved, the guy in charge of action scenes of DMC & Bayonetta
@@maestromgxI mean, Kojima probably has the smartest HR team in the industry, aside from being able to acknowledge talent himself.
For stellar blade he just went on such a weird hate watch mode out of nowhere. It almost feels like dude saw the shift up logo, had a sudden flashback on his horribly aged take of Nikke (other gacha game by the same people) at release where he judged the book by its cover and for some reason decided to repeat that, worse this time cause there is a ton of gameplay of previous years for this game.
Asmon can be slightly entertaining sometimes, but his opinion is mostly always uneducated and stupid. He just acts like he knows what he's talking about.
It's crazy to think Team Ninja used to push boundaries with their visuals but nowadays their games look like they were developed with PS3 in mind. With that said their games are typically really good so I overlook it.
imagine caring about graphics
It's way more important that they can keep a steady 60 FPS on console, as it should be the priority of any action game.
I'm honestly super excited for Stellar Blade, has that gloomy post-apocalyptic vibe that Nier had, but with a more vibrant and alive world. Also there have been a ton of gameplay videos about it in the past year or so and it definitely looks really promising and similar to DMC or Bayonetta. The fact that it also has a ton of story and a semi-open world structure just makes it even better (hoping the world is not just a bunch of fetch quests lol)

He says all this about Stellar Blade but you know for a fact hes gonna start playing as soon as it becomes popular (which it will)
You can tell the kojima effect is long gone with the silent hill series, sad.
But you can really tell it doesnt matter, since we have death stranding 2 coming!
The first game literally moved me, I just sat there at the end, I could hardly function it was amazing. Coupled with music from Low Roar (Lead guy is dead now). Just a brilliant game.
Man my mom and I bonded over low roar his death was really unexpected
Whattt???? He died??????????

Weird how no one mentioned the fact that the voice actor for Mimir from GOW is in DS2, you'd think a voice like his would be noticed by more people

If you are complaining about not being “actual gameplay” you haven’t played through death stranding 1. Go play it and then watch the trailer again.
Hideo Kojima, man, he gamble to makes a big-budget video game about a man delivering packages, gets both mockery and praise at the same time, and creates a sequel that is guaranteed to be purchased by both those who hated and loved the first one. How can he do no wrong?
My guess is, it will not sell as well, as the "haters" will not spent a single buck on it.
After literal hours of Death Stranding cutscenes, Hideo Kojima threatens that his next game will "transcend the barriers between film and video games

I will always say that there is a huge amount of gameplay in the First Death Stranding. Granted not for everyone, but what is? Building roads and gradually getting better equipment like speed legs etc, there is so much too it
People saying the trailer was too long have obviously never played Death Stranding. 10 minutes is a third of a single cutscene.

That guy with the guitar reminds me to Dante from Devil May Cry 3
I'm not going to lie, I had my doubts with the first death stranding, I doubted Kojima, it's a mistake that I won't repeat again.
The main difference is that Kojima is passionate about making video games. Not products.
Totally agree about the dialogue. "That pain you nurse will only get worse," is such a simple but brilliant way of saying you have to let go.
Kojima makes games that verge on movies and movies that verge on games. He is incredible.
He is a genius of the highest order when it comes to video games
He is the Bridge between Games and Movies.

NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOWGH ☠
Hideo Kojima is basically the only person in the entire industry making AAA games, that's also trying to push the boundaries of storytelling using games as a medium. Everyone else is too scared. There's a bunch of indy or smaller devs pushing boundaries, but they don't have access to the budget necessary to push from a technology perspective. Kojima is it, he's all we've got.
Here's the thing, though, which is that the game actually IS about the gameplay. Most of my 60 hour playthrough was just me actually playing the game because it was so fun. I did sooooo much extraneous shit that I didn't have to. I was in shock as I kept discovering new systems, new weapons, new items, new vehicles, new stuff around every corner. The gameplay loop is my favorite thing about this game and I can't fucking wait to see how they innovate on the sequel.

As someone who played nearly all triple A games since the early 2000s I was shocked by how incredible DS1 was, in an industry where the majority of big players just copy paste each other ideas and games, DS1 was a HUGE breath of fresh air. I'm not saying that the game completely changed my life, but it certainly managed to shape me into a better person. Which is something that you can't say about most games, there are only a very few exceptions. Games like DS is why I love gaming, I'm always waiting for the next game that goes completely out of it's way to be something different and unique. Just like how it was in the late 90s and throughout most of the 2000s, we had multiple unique games every year. Now we get ONE unique game every 5-6 years and in DS1's case it's labeled a delivery simulator and that's that, when in reality it's so much more than that.
PS: Don't forget to keep on keeping on fellow porters, we shall see each other in DS2! 🖤
I wonder if the puppet will talk a lot during the trip, and it kind of makes me wish we could hire NPCs to walk with us kind of like a patrol
People joked on the first one about being a, "walking simulator" but the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The story was so intriguing, curious, eerie, etc. I fuckin loved the game and can't wait for the next.
Death stranding is gran turismo of walking simulator
Kojima hasn't missed yet first DS was pretty good and i'm excited for the 2nd, looks even better
He’s been missing since since mgs4c , the game was a shitty move, mgs5 isn’t even a finished game, revenged was a meme game and DS is a prime example of how people get Stockholm’s syndrome.
The guys a joke.
THAT'S the magic of Kojima! He can put together 5000 of the most bizarre, outlandish things in a way where you're just like "ok yes, i accept all of this"
I strongly believe that Kojima can some how create an entertainment piece with the combination of game, movie, and musical and have it be a banger.
I love Kojima trailers. They show so much, yet nothing at the same time (I mean this in a good way)
@@kianschoeman6574you're not supposed to. This game had one of the worst writing out there. It's unneaceasarily convoluted just like some animes, it pretends to be more than it actually is and if you say anything bad about it kojumbo psychofans gonna f you up just like Rick&Morty fans and accuse you of not having brain capacity sufficient to process what you saw. Apart from few good ideas kojumbo is overrated.
@@6DarthSion9 You clearly have not played the game or your brain is indeed slow lmao. I understood everything at the end of DS1. Its similar to how From Software makes their game lore. If you dont pay attention, you wont get it. Kojima did the same for DS1, the trailers were all over the place and it looked like 2 different games in 1 at times. In the end after playing it everything made perfect sense.
The Crow fuse with MGS Revengance and you get a new Raiden 2.0
that metal gear flying over the babys mouth got me good lmaoo
I'm really enjoying Kojima completely unchained from anything approaching decypherability.
Sometimes Auteurs are 'just' insane, but an Auteur + genuine skill is something beautiful to behold. You might not 'get' it, but you know it's provocative and compelling.
I’ve never wanted to play the first installment of Death Stranding.. but after watching the first 2 minute cinematic.. I’m downloading the first one now!
Weird does not equal good but I guess you'll find that out for yourself.
Sometimes you gotta live that experience for yourself, you know what I’m saying big dawg?
Its got a lot of curscenes but the movement in the game is amazing. Get to chapter 2 and it really opens up. I never thought i would like it but after a while it "clicked" and i loved it
It will change what you think games can be! im excited for you ^_^
It’s really good if you vibe with it. It is a lot of walking but the journey is dope.
I watched the video earlier today and honestly.....its EVERYTHING i wanted from the sequel. I'm so fucking psyched. It looks so fucking awesome in every way
14:00 if anyone is wondering hideo kojima is currently 60 and turns 61 in august
seeing Baker back... is hella nice, but damn, Kojima is one weird genius and i love it
also, how the fuck did they make this trailer captivating but confusing at the same time
Only Kojima can make Joker/Crow- styled antagonist with Noise Marine gear while keeping it serious.
I'll say the same thing. It felt like a 4 or 5 min trailer. Finally something creative. Reminds me of a dinal fantasy death stranding mash up. I cant wait
As i can see one of the good things i noticed about hideo is He's passionate about his thing, he makes a game for people who like his work he doesnt make the game for everyone to like. Its his Art
I loved DS1 so I'm so excited about DS2. And, damn, a different flavor of MGS in 2 years??? Shit
Kojima doesn't make games, he makes Kojimas.
Asmon is stating a fact that ppl nowadays only enjoyed games which are same just with diff skins, but they gave the most majority reviews, which kinda pissed me off
Bro talks about combat, and plays Honkai Star rail, literally afk game attached to a slot machine. Also the Generic Survival game number 13 he is playing atm.
someone said skin color is DLC
I started playing Death Stranding on my Steam Deck, the shit is really good. He had a vision and executed it. And the story isn’t too complicated, funny enough.
Most people saying about DS story most likely never played it lol
I think the story is hella complicated compared to almost all other media out there.... But I think it feels s little bit like that though because he actually does a good job of wrapping up all the craziness and giving answers to why things are the way they are. Thing about MGS. That took 6 games, 5 systems, and like 15 years to get that story out which all makes it feel discombobulated. In Death Stranding, you're asking "why are their babies in gotcha capsule balls and demon ghost with tentacles?" In like the first 5 minutes, but he spends the rest of the game setting up a story and world that explains it.
@@brookssloan9846 I do t think it’s even too complicated. Just the world changed since whatever event happend. I’m 4 hours in, MGS is my favorite franchise story wise. I can definitely see a lot of the MGSV DNA. I wasn’t a huge fan of MGSV but I do feel like the things that carried over fits well with the game. This is my comfort game now while I wait for FF7 Rebirth.
I absolutely love Nier and because Yoko Taro said he was excited for this game makes me want to play it even more.
I really hope you can disable the Chromatic Abberation in DD2. I just don't understand why this is a thing in modern games, especially default On. Just like Motion Blur, Vignette, DoF, ... they should be default Off or at least give me specific options to turn them off. Also hate it's often tied/summarized in Post Process effects or something like that and you need to go down to Low or whatever to disable all the mentioned effects but it also turns off other stuff which I like.
