DJI Mavic Air 2 BRUTALLY HONEST Review

- An honest, real-life DJI Mavic Air 2 Review. I use drones often to film clients for my business and for my own videos, but this isn't a drone channel, so I really have no incentive to review this or any other drone positively or negatively with the expectation of getting free stuff in the future. The DJI Mavic Air 2 may work for some, and hopefully it gets better with firmware, but for my line of work (adventure videography), the Air 2 is a huge disappointment.
This information isn't based on opinion, it's based on actual flying and real experiences with a full-priced, consumer model DJI Mavic Air 2:
-I get 17 minutes before the drone wants to RTH while DJI quotes flight times of 30+ minutes.
-The Mavic Air 2 will record 4k at 60fps, but ONLY in h.265. While h.265 is a contender for a future codec, right now it absolutely chugs on even my top-tier editing rig. If I can't even play it with the most recent codecs and drivers on my massive rig, how can I expect to give it to clients?
-The Mavic Air's size isn't much smaller than the DJI Mavic Pro, and the added weight and size of the RC negate any size/weight loss from the drone itself. Sure the Mavic Air is smaller, but remember... you have to pack both!
-The gimbal/camera constantly flops downward in sport mode resulting in unusable footage. (See 6:00 )
-The app either crashes or the RC loses connection... I'm not sure which. Either way, the screen goes blank and the DJI Fly app restarts 2 to 3 times EVERY FLIGHT.
-I have an awesome spot to film my clients, and I know exactly how far the Mavic Pro 1 will go from that point. The Mavic Air 2 has about the same range in wide-open-desert conditions (no trees, obstructions, RC interference, etc) as the Mavic Pro. So the new Occusync isn't that great. Not only is the range the same, but the Air 2 loses signal far easier and must be flown higher to maintain signal.
-DJI needs to do away with the whole-screen warnings. Having a "RETURN TO HOME" message block your whole field of view mid-flight just isn't a great idea.
-DJI customer support has been utterly abysmal. 4 emails. 2 Chat sessions. No results. No support. One department just sends me to another, and it goes in circles until they stop responding.

I hate to say this, because I’m not a “fanboy” of any product. BUT... I own the Magic Air 2 and find some of your criticism to be based on misinformation or lack of knowledge. For instance, you can use H.264 rather than the more demanding H.265. Just change a setting in the app. I’m not sure what to say about your flight time. Sport mode is much more demanding than the other two modes and does impact your flight time a great deal. That said, you can change the RTH setting by selecting a different battery percentage point at which RTH triggers. The default, I believe, is 30 percent. Many people lower that to 20 or 25 percent. Most folks are conservative with this setting as they want enough time to return the drone home. I capture in 4K HDR and have been real impressed with image quality. Your example comparing a Panasonic G5 to the smaller sensor on the Magic Air 2 seems a bit unfair. That said, I thought the comparison you shared showed quality and crisp captures by both devices. All of this said, I really appreciate your take on things. There is NO excuse for poor customer service, and DJI has always fallen short on this. That alone has prompted people to return an otherwise good drone. DHI tried to follow Apple’s business methods, but the company has dropped the ball with Customer Service and tech support when compared to Apple. Thanks for a great video!
Ditto.. ypu saved ke the time of typing this all out. Also comparing a MA2 to a Mavic Pro is nuts. 8 really dont think he went through all the settings correctly. Im literally not having any of his problems. Maybe I got lucky, but as per usual wait for the update and its all good again
@@justmedia5815 G'day can O ask the update you refer too is it a software update and how will that improve things.
Thanks I appreciate your unbiased feedback on this video. I'm looking at buying a drone and are currently trying to find one that will do both long range for exploration like the Mavics and one that will do sensational tracking and avoidance like the Skydio 2.
apple has good tech support lol. have fun getting charged $500 for a bent pin or an unplugged battery.

Stop paying people to give good review
@@kaizkhan9600 I am afraid they don't need to pay to get good review, and I highly suspect people are paid to give bad review.
I think this dude just got a defective drone. It happens. My Air 2 doesn’t have these issues.
@@redchangoTRDD how much does dji pay you? 😁

I've been flying this drone for over a week now. No problems with the app, no problems with the gimbal in sports mode, 0 problems with battery life / flight time and the distance even in built up suburban areas is amazing.
I agree. I’ve had the same positive experience. Is it possible this guy just got a bad drone with some bugs in it?
@@Exit34 could well be that he was very unfortunate
I love mine but that’s easy to do so when I moved from a P3S lol
How many that replied has footage to prove you fly your drone in the desert full throttle? Or avoidance off and flying full blast anywhere to see?
@@KarlMalin1 I just had the same thought. The video dude actually showed us footage to support his review. In fact the thing with the gimbal is real. Other users said as well that in sports mode during strong winds there have been issues. If I was a professional that would definitely piss me off because very often there isn't a second chance to shoot a footage.
I have an Air 2 and love it! Haven't experienced any of the problems that you report. The "honest" part of the review is that this is not the right drone for you. It is also clear that you are honestly pissed off. Just because this drone doesn't work for you does not make it "broken" for the rest of us. I see that DJI responded to you in the comments and hopefully they will get you sorted out. There are a TON! of reviews on this drone that are not from pro youtubers, and I find your assertion that every one but yours is fake a bit disturbing. But if that is what you think, you go dude!
I am getting the same results as the author. Poor customer service also.
Honestly sounds like his drone is defective
I think fpv will suit him better don’t you think because the mavic air 2 is not really meant to be flown extreme
DJI made a massive firmware update a few weeks ago. I purchased mine immediately after the update. It corrects the issues with the gimbal as well as numerous other updates. I absolutely love mine. Sorry you didn't get the chance to try these out.
I am new to DJI and my first drone is the Mavic Air 2. I've been flying it every day since purchasing it 2 weeks ago and have not experienced a single problem the reviewer is banging on about. I actually feel quite safe flying it and the .265 4K @60fps looks amazing on my computer. I did my homework on this drone before taking the plunge, something this reviewer obviously did not and I am very happy with my purchase. Don't be put off by one person's experience. It sounds to me like he may have gotten a bad drone out of the box? It does happen from time to time with all consumer products. Surely I'm not the only one who noticed that all he did was constantly go on about the flaws when a lot of it could just be his computer's limitations? I am super happy with what the drone can do and do not regret my purchase in the slightest. Even my 6yr old daughter has been learning to use it. 😀👍
I am New to DJI aswell, I am waiting for the air 2 to come atm, thank you for ur feedback, I didnt think there was with many problems that the guy was talking about. Im glad the drone is worth it to buy! Thank you
He repeatedly said that it's not good for his unique situation. I agree that advertised flight time of 34 minutes and real flight time less than 20 minutes is absolutely terrible and I experienced the same thing. Also, they tilt the gimbal to keep the props out of the shot, I don't want automatic gimbal tilt just to keep the props out. If I have the props in my shot that's on me. I have also experienced not as advertised range.
@@sethbob5742 Sport mode = requires more power.
Same goes for all drones
Yea, he must have an old Windows computer, like before 2015 old. Those machines usually don't have hardware decoding, so the CPU can't keep up. He needs to upgrade his machine! No biggie, it happens.
D G exactly you need practice to extend flight time. He also must be using outdated phones and laptops.
All due respect...
I do have the mavic air 2, and I could tell you that most of the problems you are talking about were fixed with early updates. Initially I had trouble going past 4000 feet, after a DJI assistant update (from mac or PC not your Fly app) recently I went out to 12000 ft with no issues, not even one weak signal message the entire time. That is impressive. The issue with h. 265 vs H. 264, if your rig can not handle H. 265 you're definitely doing something wrong, maybe you need to use proxies in your software, but if you have the right amount of memory and processor it's not an issue. But the bigger story is, the Drone will do 264 it's an option in fly more app. The default is 265 but you can switch it. Maybe in an early version you could not.
Obstacle avoidance is the best in the mavic Air 2 then any other DJI drone including the Pro 2. It's unbelievable the way it Bobs and weaves through trees when following someone. Obviously that won't be helpful for your motorcycle videos, but it is pretty amazing, I've tested it and I couldn't believe my eyes.
The issue with your app crashing could be several things, you need to put your phone or tablet in airplane mode, and you need to make sure everything is turned off except the DJI fly app. If you have enough memory, and a fast processor, you should be fine. I have an apple iPhone 6 and except for the fact it chews up the battery and the phone gets hot, because they are stressing the processor quite a bit, it has never disappeared on me. Apparently your phone is doing some work in the background. I have also used it on Android and again I didn't see a problem.
I do agree that DJI support sucks like a massive black hole inside of a Dyson. this is the way the Chinese work, This is their home if you want to play in it you have to play by their rules. Compared to any American company it's trash. I've had issues and fights with them, and you just have to live with the fact that they suck in that department.
Last issue is battery life, I have been consistently getting 26 minute videos on my flights, while that is not a 34 minute flight, clearly, It's a lot better than 17 minutes. I was able to fly out over to my house, fly Back Against the Wind, And still have time to do many other shots before I had to land. I think I made it back on 35% with the unexpected wind the problem, And I can tell you if you do a test in normal mode you will get a lot more battery life. Sport mode does chew a battery, perhaps more on the air to than it does on the pro.
Thanks ma'am / sir for your info, i just ordered my air 2 before watching this video, this made everything clear for me 😃
Im with you on that!!!
Very well said.
I’m hearing a lot of Android guys having issues, my old iPhone 8 handles everything like butter.

Dude, did you just say you fly in sport mode...and the battery dies quick...need some help?
literally the same thing i thought, this guy is an idiot.
Toxic.
Flying in sport mode uses more battery
@Protect MyRights If he is comparing it to the Mavic Pro, he IS an idiot. That would be a downgrade in almost anyones book. Air2 kinda sounds like an upgrade to... Ohhh, I dont know... Maybe the Air? lol
The Mavic air 2 would not be an upgrade from the Mavic pro. The Mavic pro is a completely different line than the air. Much like the mini is different.
Call your credit card company and request a refund from them. They may request the email and phone records to show that you have been trying to return it. That will get DJI involved!
I’m going to disagree with everything mentioned in this video. This drone is hands down one of the best drones DJI has came out with!
He bought a amateur drone 1/2 price of PRO and complain it's not PRO LOL
This is my 3rd DJI drone (phantom 4 Pro, mavic mini then this) and I agree with you. I haven't experienced any of the issues he's mentioned aside from the video choppiness but that was due to a bad SD card. Sport mode records absolutely fine, no unwanted gimble motion, maybe he got a defective one.
@@ExtraVerted same here, 0 problems so far, happy with Spark and now this one
He also said he is a hobby drone operator, but repeatedly said "I can't give this to my clients"...
Bought the drone for clout and return
Don't see a lot of negatives about this drone, so thanks for sharing. I would like to address a couple of your points - first, OF COURSE your battery life is lower than the advertised amount - sport mode uses way more energy, even if being used conservatively. There was a video a saw a while back where someone put the drone into hover for the entire length of the battery life and, in sport mode, it was 10 minutes less (this was on the original Mavic Air). Next, OF COURSE H.265 is hardware intensive. Even on powerful PCs, it takes a lot of processing to read out. This is why pretty everyone who shoots in H.265 (which has much better image quality, especially in action situations, like, um, you constantly shoot in) use proxies - it only takes a few minutes to generate proxies, and then you can edit quickly and easily and output to the format of your choice. Finally, OF COURSE you are going to have issues with customer service. Their CS center is in California, and everything there is screwed due to the whole Coronavirus thing (in case you haven't heard of it in Utah, which is possible). I certainly hope you get to send it back, though - I wouldn't put it past a big company to do exactly what you said (as in, slow roll you until you passed the return window and then refuse to help). Save your emails and chat logs.
He claims to be a professional but does not know how to work with H.265 codec and fix small problems, or realize that sport mode uses a lot more of power. He is a hack that should not makr youtube videos.
fcknmrcls he specifically said he wasn’t a drone professional numb nuts. He’s a dirt bike guy. You must be a drone guy.
@@robertsharrock188s ... I get it... he stated he's not a drone professional, but he also stated that he flies drones professionally. With that said, a few of those so-called problems he listed are not problems with the actual drone, but more personal use-case issues. He mentioned H.265 codec issue, but that's a personal issue with his computer hardware and he can just use H.264 in 4k@24/30fps instead if his computer can't handle it... he might have posted his previous drone's sport-mode performance in the past, but he fails to mention it here so we can tell the differences... the battery charging is not an issue and anyone who has had other chargers from DJI already knows how it charges... he compares it to an original Mavic Pro in size, but not much else... most of the other issues he mentions may or may not affect others because we also do not know his setup.
My pc its a mid-range...but I really wish I could edit in H265,I’m just starting video editing for myself.,its just for my travel vlog.I didn’t understand how this proxi works with video editing so I need some help. How do I generate proxy (I never used before) and why using proxi will make my editing faster? Haha you’re bummed out about the higher bitrate frame rate on the drone because your COMPUTER is too slow?
LOL first thing that came to my mind.
First thing I thought of too! My computers and even my smart TV run H.265 just fine. An alternative to share with those with older equipment is to convert it to H.264 which uses a lot more space but a lot less hardware.
Art P or simply choose H.264 in the options menu.
agree, it does not make sense
He has an old and slow machine. It's probably entry level. He needs to spend more money.
Good video. However, I suspect that your issues with working with and editing 4K HEVC video is not a problem with DJI. While you probably have a decent PC workstation, editing raw 4K HEVC footage at 60 fps is a very demanding task for even high-end rigs. Even with a top spec workstation the editing workflow needs to be optimized. Are you editing from an SSD or HDD? Is the software you’re using enabling full GPU hardware acceleration? How much RAM and VRAM are you working with? What generation of CPU (need multi-threaded performance)? Assuming everything is optimized on a solid spec computer you may still suffer some stutter and slow edits, it’s just that demanding. It may help to transcode the footage first before you edit. It seems to me that DJI captured the footage it was supposed to, it’s your PC and/or workflow that needs improvement or optimization. You’ll likely face the same issue no matter what drone, camera, or other device that captures 4K HEVC at 60 fps.
You’ll need a high end editor too like Premier Pro, I think most other editors can’t handle H.265 yet, mine doesn’t - which is really annoying - but not DJIs fault.
You wrote about only one problem, what about the rest? And for h.265 hvec codec you need a good GPU, something that supports that codec, you should look into nvidia rtx class which is doing pretty nice on video rendering and video editing stuff.
He wasn't just complaining that his rig couldn't handle it, he was complaining that his drone was producing content with that encoding. But, he is wrong, it's optional or the you get 265 or 264. He just has the wrong option selected.
Well... Ya know what Ol Jack Burton says in a time like this.
@@brianbathgate4944 ... up until Premier Pro's recent update, Davinci Resolve Studio has been handling H.265 quite well and renders quickly.
makes sense for your circumstances. for me personally this is my 4th DJI drone and I think the best one yet. and a sub 800 dollar price point is hard to beat
additionally, the battery charger charging all batteries at the same time would foolish... they pick the most charged battery so that one can be used whilst the others charge...
Agree, once again the fool behind the tool blaming the tool!
It's an extra step, but transcode your footage to a format your computer can edit easily. I do that with H264 and H265 to avoid chugging and crashing in Premiere.
Transcoding will always equal some form of quality loss. Be prepared for that. Most common users may not notice, but a professional might.
Creating a proxy in Premier for your edits, effects, and color correction will not result in quality loss. You are working with the proxy to see how things will look, then the changes are made to the actual footage. Its not even really an extra step, you can set it up to automatically create proxies, you just have to import then wait a few minutes while it does its job.
@@BrentNichols84 exactly. Not that complicated. H.265 isn't meant to be edited. It's specifically to maintain as much quality as possible
I own a mavic air 2 and 90% of the criticism I never experienced!!
"I'm not a drone expert, I'm not a drone professional, but I do fly drones professional. If that makes sense"
Ha ha ha ok that’s funny 😄
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️
So I’m not a pro drone person at all myself...but I’ve logged about maybe 40 hours on this device And my first thoughts or did you upgrade the firmware when the current MA2 arrived?.. I’ve worked with computers long enough to know the firmware updates when we least extraordinarily important… Furthermore did you happen to notice that there’s an upgrade to the batteries as well which definitely helped my flight time per battery.?
The issue with the gimbal facing in a different direction as you’re flying can be fixed by switching the gimbal mode from FPV to tripod mode…
And I have no idea what your rig is but I’ve had no issue recording 4K 60 frames a second in H26 for all of these things are able to be changed in the menu in the fly app.
I do agree that channel does not look like it’s as good as any of the Mavic two drones but I have to say even in your video the cinema style color Looks a lot better than the Mavic pro drone you show side-by-side in your video...
Don’t get me wrong it’s not the perfect device and it has its shortfalls, for me, I’m still waiting for them to release the code so that third-party apps can actually use the drone to do some of the extra things that DJI software does not let you do....
Last but not least in general the air 2. Was not designed to be a replacement for the air one, it is a larger drone it is about the same size as the Mavic but it has better object avoidance better batteries once you update it and a lot of much better abilities when you compare it to the Mavic one… But what you were neglecting to mention is that the air two is about half the price of any of the Mavic pro two devices. Define in my case I’ve gotten more advanced features than I ever would’ve gotten on a Mavic one for about the same price so that’s worth mentioning I believe for those of us who are not made of money...
My $0.02
Select “look above horizon” to avoid drop
That's really a setting?
Mark P “Allow upward gimbal rotation” is the name in the setup. But it allows the camera gimbal to rotate above the horizon view. Stops the dip
This has been fixed in a firmware update I believe, I own the Mavic Air 2, and haven't experienced this issue
This option was available in the firmware on launch. Firmware update added the ability to directly control the gimbles vertical and horizontal moment via the screen. Simple hold down in the middle of the screen then drag where you want to camera to move to.
@@MrViralHits Do you have any regrets by buying the air 2.If you have then plz tell me bcz I am going to by one.
I like the fact that you're giving an honest review, but I have to say your experience doesn't seem "typical" and you may have gotten a dud off the manufacturing line. Yes, I expect lots of reviewers out there have gotten a free Mavic for their time, etc, but so many other users have posted their experiences as well which have, by and large, been favourable. Your experience seems much like an outlier.
No mine is total crap too. I liked my original mavic air more. With my mavic air 2, I keep getting glitches and gimbal overload errors. And like him, they refused to communicate with me on a return. Thieves!
I was wondering this myself. I definitely do not have any first-hand experience because I’m still in the market for my first drone. So I have been watching reviews like this one and like other ones, however I was actually wondering the same thing of whether he possibly got a piece of equipment that was not ordinary. And again I don’t know
It’s great that you do these brutally honest reviews, that I thoroughly enjoy! But on this one, in my view, I’m sorry to say, you kind of didn’t do your homework...
Just to put things in perspective, I also fly drones to shoot people on motorcycles, but during events. I’ve also been using the Mavic Pro for almost 4 years, but when off road, I usually take a Mavic Air, because of its smaller size. And it’s here that the major flaw of this comparison lays.
The Mavic Air 2 is a replacement to the Mavic Air, not the Mavic Pro, which also was replaced by the Mavic Pro 2...
So, you’re kind of comparing cantaloupes to melons...
I haven’t flown the Air 2 yet, but it’s waiting in my studio for it’s maiden flight to happen.
There are some problems you reported, that do seem like they might be a specific problem to your unit.
The connection of the Air 2 has been massively praised! Not just by the guys that get it early, but there are already hundreds of independent reviews out there! And that has not been reported, on any of the reviews I’ve seen.
Speaking as an original Mavic Air user, the only downside of the Mavic Air 2 is size. The remote, for instance, it is bigger, but it charges your phone and doesn’t fall out of range in 300 to 400 meters, because it is not WiFi, like the Mavic Air. So in that sense, it is a major improvement for those who are upgrading, from the original air.
The other kind of mistake on this review, is how you see H265.
Any computer that does not have an updated chip to deal with h265, will bog down!
That isn’t different then working with any pro codec, if you don’t have the appropriate hardware! And that’s why we have on-line and off-line workflows and digital intermediates.
H265, once it’s been edited and exported, together with the rest of the footage, in whatever format, will conform to whatever codec you specify the output, therefore, playing back as smoothly, on any device, as the rest of the footage!
H265 is precious and no different then h264 when it came out some odd twenty something years ago.
It will just allow you to do more, with even less data!
Neither of these codecs are editing friendly, but most computer nowadays, can manage do compress and decompress (co dec) h264, without any problems.
And you should start getting used to it, because whenever you update any of your cameras, you will probably find h265 in there, if nothing else, to do exactly what you gain with the Mavic Air 2... 4K 60fps... for when you need it.
Hope you don’t take this the wrong way! I love your videos and can’t wait to see your next one! But just felt I should say something, in a constructive way.
Keep up your great work!
; )~
I cant say that I agree on comparing cantaloupes to melons. A used Mavic Pro and base Air 2 are in the same ballpark price-wise. So, if someone is shopping for a new drone and their budget is $500-800 then both drones are something they would look at. I personally was just deciding between a used Mavic pro and Air 2
While I agree with your overall technical comments, how can you give a counter point on a drone you haven’t even flown yet? I’d be curious to see if your experience lives up to your expectation. I’m in the market for one of these, so I’d love to know. Thanks!

I don’t usually fly manually in sport mode with obstacle avoidance turned off so the MA2 isn’t a deal breaker for me. The gimbal flopping down in sport mode isn’t a big deal either. I haven’t had my screen go blank ever and haven’t lost signal yet either. Sounds like you got hosed with your particular drone and is an anomaly. The first thing I did before my first flight was upgrade the firmware as suggested. Did you?
Have had zero issues so far.
Almost thought you had valid reasons for returning. Sport more uses way more power so you won't get max flight time. I average 25 minutes. As for the gimbal, you have to go into the gimbal settings to raise it so that you can get your horizon shots
For your use cases I'd actually like to see a head-to-head comparison with a Skydio drone just to see which you prefer since Skydio is actually geared much more towards what you're using your drones for.
Skydio is an awesome drone as far as flight and flight technology goes but for now it is falling way short on image quality compared to DJI camera tech... But... Give them a few years and they will catch up and it will be a all around amazing drone. I'm actually looking forward to them catching up with camera tech.
"Only" 17 minutes of flight time in Sport Mode? While shooting in 4K 60?
Did you know your bikes will run out of gas twice as fast at 100mph as they would at 50 mph? Fact!....because I read it on the internet lol.
And I'll bet it's hotter 'n hell in Utah right about now, which also doesn't help with battery life...
Sounds like you need to sell me your MA2 and get yourself a Skydio 2 :))
The 4eyed K-9
My thoughts exactly. SMH
Actually how far you can go at 50mph would be 1/4 as far as 100mph. In reality probably worse.
“Total Dud” ? Totally disagree with that..... Doesn’t match the pro? No and it’s not meant to!!! It’s half the price for gods sake.!!!
Yeah, their support is hideous. I had a Spark. It was hovering in my driveway, displayed a GPS error, and then lunged forward into my garage door. It broke one of the arms on the drone. I sent it in after telling them how bad a software flaw this is, as it could have easily been a person rather than my garage door. After sending them the logs and the drone (logs showed that, indeed, it lunged on its own), they sent me quote for repairing the broken arm. I told them it was clearly their software flaw, and therefore would not accept anything more than free. They kept lowering the price, and ultimately just sent the drone back. I was fine with this, as I didn’t trust it anyway-or them.
You get what you Pay for. Spark entry level drone.....
@@Journeeuahinui Nothing wrong with the spark.
DJI sell drones to idiots, most of whom don't even know the basics.
So many things which can make a drone crash, most of the time, its user error.
DJI have their probs as a company, but they are the best at what they do.
If a spark goes flying into a garage door for "no reason", I want to know the full story before i blame DJI.
Same exact crap happened with my Spark!
@@Journeeuahinui Sure, pal. I hate to burst your bubble, but their software problems on their drones is not limited to the Spark. It demonstrates poor software engineering.
@@quakecon2009 Reading comprehension is clearly not a strong suit. The circumstances are noted in what was written.
That battery life seems like an anomaly because I throw mine into sport mode and flew full tilt in circles with varying altitude around where I was at, and I got roughly 24 minutes. I heard that if you get the fly more combo and charge your batteries straight from the three Bank power strip, they charge improperly for the initial charging.
The new video format is understandable, because this drone is supposed to be sold for something that the average consumer should be able to use, however you're going to need advanced video editing software even a better computer to process the higher and video. For example, if you're just a hobbyist, using the built-in movie program that Windows gives you, you're limited to 1080p30 anyway.
I'm not somebody who hikes or carries a lot of equipment so actually the size I find is pretty good, especially considering I came from a non foldable drone.
I actually had that problem with the screen going blank during flight and the app restarting on my lg v20 using Android 8, However I do not have this problem on my LG V10 running Android 6. There is massive incompatibility issues with the DJI fly app, and that is something I personally strongly recommend that people look at before buying this drone.
This is the first genuine negative feedback on this drone in a video I've seen yet. For the price to performance for my use case, it's awesome, however for your use case, I can see where the flaws are a problem.
So is it just an android thing? I’ve never had the app crash on my iPhone with my mavic pro.
I have issues with my LG G6 which they state is a compatible phone, I can tell you its not fully compatible. I couldn't fly for a week because it would only work the first time after initial install. Then from there, it would not launch into the app connected to drone. I reported this behavior to DJI, then eventually confirmed the issue without explanation other than it will be fixed in June. I did find a routine to get it to work, you must turn on the drone first, and start the app making sure it is closed. But it did crash in flight a few times after that with the G6. Kind of scary.
@@scej79 ive had that problem on my Huawei honor 7 when using the mavic pro at the first stage... It got abit better overtime as updates came along. But on my new p30 lite there is nothing wrong at all...
Also keep in mind he lives in Southern Utah, probably St. George, and it gets pretty hot there. Flight times are drastically reduced in hot weather, and LiPo batteries go bad real fast if they are used in hot weather for any length of time.
Yours is a dud, talk about the one in your hands.. that's the issue... Everything you complained about with the one in your possession I tried to mimic with the one in my possession and Nill, Nada, the sports mode has no effect in performance .. the screen on my device never turned black unless I powered down the device. But I will gjve it a second try to see if the Aircraft performes like your. The Aircraft you have in your possession does have issues. I hope you can return it for a ful refund, good luck
The reason you get 17 minutes is because of the sport mode and conditions. Fly in normal and you’ll get longer flight. Also get a newer phone and laptop, this drone doesn’t go black and the signal is great. The video is very usable on my laptop with an i9 and gtx 1080. They do have a wind warning as well again you must be using an outdated phone. I’ve had these drones since day one with none of these issues.
Correct, sounds like user error.
@@ChrisParayno yeah no one should be running outdated hardware
I have a feeling that ur mavic is broken...
That or he just didn't research enough first and bought the wrong drone for his needs. The customer service thing is annoying but it's always going to be a risk with Chinese companies.
Ok how much does DJI pay you ?
well, i can confirm all the problems he have. it is an awful drone, not as much as the mavic mini, but Mavic Air still better
for sure it's broken and he assumed all MA2s are just liked his.. the better solution is to try to call DJI and let them replace that broken or lemon drone before doing another video review...
It's not a pro model. It is for amateur use. Duh
1) Estimated flying times are based in normal mode. Of course, the sport mode will decrease the time dramatically, this is not the drone flaw.
2) The h265 hardware issue is easily resolved with using proxies. Of course, output to h264.
3) Hopefully, the gimbal dropping issue can be resolved with updated firmware.
4) Completely agreed on the return to home blank screen disaster.
I have this *black screen* too, each flight on a different batteries. This is *not safe!* I wrote to DJI, they said that they very sorry and will try to fix it in the updates of app. Other problems not bother me so much.
Your issues sound completely unique, I've had one since launch, sitting on 6 batteries and never had a single issue as yours, flight time is almost as advertised, gimbal performs great and range is brilliant. I've had to deal with support twice now and have had emails back same day and generally had the issues resolved within 48 hours (dead battery in flymore kit and warped spare props)
Your two issues I think you have are, comparing the air to the pro and possibly a defective unit. I want to sway away from saying it's poor piloting characteristics/style because the footage looks brilliant.
I think it was an honest review, just based in poor information.
I have a Mavic air 2 I've been flying for a couple months now and literally have not faced any of these issues.
I can't speak for the return process since my drone hasn't had any problems yet.
- No problems editing or viewing 4k in 60 fps - download the right codec if you do have a problem viewing (problem solved)
- Flight times alert around 17 min but is advertised for 30 - 35 because they are advertising the total flight time. To and from. so if you've flown the drown out 17 min way, it's going to need roughly another 17 to return home. I've definitely average around 29 min in total flight times per flight.
Appreciate your honest opinion, but a lot of this sound like one off issues that have either been resolved or specific to your own hardware.
Good to know I just ordered one.
Same as me. Didn't have any of the issues that he is thinking about. And I have 4 years old laptop and 4k 60fps is working all fine no struggle at all.
@jim , yeah , I think he knows that . He is being deceptive and misleading with his wording "17 minutes RTH.
@@jaimeavakarianvillamonte744 that's unfortunate. Probably the last time i watch this guy's channel again.
nah, all good with the review. He just said, he experienced this problem. A warning rth at min 17, he doesnt say how much battery is left. In default mode, the warning apperce quite early. Hot conditions affect battery power too.
But just like I sayed, he just sayed, he, is experience this problem. Probably other people are fine with it.
Though, the app doesnt seem to run very stable
Firmware gets updated all the time. When i first got my Mavic 2 Pro there wasn’t very much in the app that worked and it took a while to bring out all of the features but they came out. The Mavic Air 2 is a fantastic drone and you are suffering from the early months of a DJI release that takes almost a year before the app and firmware are fully fleshed out and that is what my experience with my Mavic 2 Pro.
My experience has been nothing like yours. Maybe you just got a lemon?
I was wondering the same thing myself but I don’t have any personal experience
facts. love mine and don’t have any of the complaints he had.
It’s not a lemon, he just doesn’t know how to adjust the settings. The Mavic Air 2 has many more settings adjustments than the pro mk1 and he’s basing his entire review off comparing the two.
I’m literally laughing out loud
All his problems come from an inability to read. His drone was fine.
Hey Tyler. It is clear the MA2 has failed to live up to your expectations and doesn't perform to the standards that you use it for. I appreciate your transparency and hope DJI can make things right for you. I'm fortunate, as I haven't experienced the problems you have. In fact I am part of the majority that are happy with the MA2, but I would like to call out DJI if they are reading this message. Please address Tyler's concerns. If myself or anyone else were given the run around from DJI customer service, I would want it to be resolved asap. Hopefully I will never be in this predicament but as a current consumer I would like to know DJI will stand behind their product for ALL of their customers. Doesn't matter if you have 95% of the consumers happy and their MA2 is working the way it should....all it takes is one if not a few defective units to have a huge impact on branding and consumer perception.
You're absolutely right, 100%!
I think the "flop downward" is an isolated issue. I have a Mavic Pro, and I fly another Mavic Pro for another company. My Mavic Pro never has a gimbal issue. However, the other one has that gimbal issue all the time.
HypeShare Official Yes, this issue seems to only happen when enabling the gimbal to look up beyond the normal threshold.
The issue with the jerking 4k video is not DJI or your work station (unless you have a really outdated workstation). But its the Sim Card not being fast enough. I had the same issue initially and I was really upset- then I Googled and found others having the same issue and what they did to resolve it. So I tested it out by using the onboard 8 Gig Memory to shoot 4k on and sure enough it was smooth as silk. Upgrade the Sim card to a faster write/ read speed and it resolved the issue. You are going to pay a bit more than your average Sim car but it's worth it. Just Google best Sim Card for drones or Best Memory Card for drones and there is usually a list of the top 5 you can choose from. I fly professionally and have been really happy with the drone so far.
"I love the Mavic with a few exceptions". "None of it is subjective.". No, obviously he is pissed. And its more like love/hate than love. I don't think he should compare it to the Pro since it was replaced by the Pro 2. Undoubtedly many reviews are DJI biased true.
Its like anything else though, if it's a bit of kit that you use for your bread and butter, and you expect something to work "as intended" but doesnt, then, yeah, that could be annoying. It was obviously an expensive outlay for the bloke too, and, noone should have that much chew to return an item, regardless if it works or not... Accepting a return is generally the difference between a customer returning to you or not, and potentially losing customers over the sake of it... I bet this video alone has lost DJI some, including me because I have a Mini and a Spark, the mini was acting up on my last flight, before I took it out it had a firmware update, and it wasnt the same after I first got it, it's been reported by many, so, hopefully, DJI can fix whatever they broke in a firmware update, I digress though, I had been looking at the Air 2, and now I am like.. Mmmmm, I may have to keep an eye on their forums for that 4k glitched whats it before I make any decisions.
@@Denathorn Hey, my advise to you is probably to wait a bit before you purchase the Air 2. Sometimes its best that way as when you buy it later most issues are ironed out through software updates and your experience with will be different. With regards to the mini. Your not alone there my colleague also lost his, just fell out of the sky without warning and ditched into the sea. He had the latest update and his mini was fully charged. There were also no interference where he flew. Hopefully DJI has solved the issue.
@@gpierre90 Hiya, yeah... I'll just wait! ;) Luckily for me, I realised something was wrong straight away when I got the mini up, it just wasnt right, then the app was going a little crazy with warnings etc, and I got it back down ASAP (I was in a forest). Though I have seen reports of it dropping, or hurtling into walls etc etc I've done an update since, and had it in the garden, seems to be fine, I have a little more trust in it, still weary, but, I'll be taking it into more open spaces before I use it in any confined areas, or over water! :)
I own a MA2. My second flight with this drone was over a 130 hec mountain I own. I never lost signal or had any of the issues mentioned by the video. I think you need to study more your drone.
Given your use-case get yourself a Mavic 2 Zoom, you'll love it.
The fact that you fly in sport mode, as many others have said, will have a huge impact. But moreover, what are your typical density altitudes for where you fly? The hotter and more humid it is, the higher the density altitude, and the lower the performance of the aircraft. Resulting in less battery life. The service ceiling of this aircraft is somewhere around 16,000 feet MSL. So if you fly typically in areas with density altitudes of 7,000 to 8,000 feet, you'll get about half the flight time. Or, if your actual altitude above sea level is that high, that could account for it too (I'm an Ohioan that flies at 1,000 feet MSL, so it is outside of my cornfield brain to think of flying much higher than that).
I came here thinking "Hmmm, I think my drone is perfect, I wonder what they discovered about it? Maybe the 8k Hyperlapse being kinda wonky? Its not biggie but I could see why someone would complain".
But then I watched your review. Yeah no my drone is perfect I think you're looking for a bigger drone, try Inspire 3 or something. You get what you pay for, for 800 the Mavic Air 2 is quality, good quality.
You mention your computer can't handle H.265 4k60fps files as one fault of the drone?? you lost me there
Agree, once again the fool behind the tool blaming the tool!
Why don’t you have the Skydio 2 with the beacon? That would seem the obvious choice for what you do !!
That's exactly what he needs!!
Protect MyRights Great points. Maybe Mavic 3 Pro will add Skydio features. Hopefully that’s why it’s being delayed.
Protect MyRights for what he does with the beacon would be a heck of a lot better than the DJI drones
Do you like the mavic pro? Do you have similar problems? I don't like that the aperture is fixed on the air 2. Need filters to shoot in manual. Also finding low flight times and keep getting the rc not connected signal loss. Also the warnings that pop up on the screen are annoying. Good honest review
If your flying in sport mode and getting 17 minutes, that's great. I wasn't get 17 minutes with the Mavic Air in position mode.
Yea I barely get 17 on the MA1 as well. Will be upgrading soon.

Just FYI, being that you have call records and more importantly, email records of trying to return it, legally, your return window is the first day of contact. Legally, if they refuse, you call your credit card company, tell them what you told us, challenge the payment and they then contact DJI for you. If DJI doesn't respond, you automatically get your money back and get to keep the drone if they fail to give you a way to return it. I know its a headache, but you don't have to worry about getting stuck with it. Even if you stopped trying until now. You tell the credit card company you didn't know you could do this and then start with the date of first contact. I hope that helps.
I LOVE honest reviews. So, people pay you to stay at your place and have you guide trails/film them? I'd love to hear how you set that up. Also, I live not too far (ABQ) and am looking for a dirt bike
Ok so I watched your video and thought your point about the app disconnecting was total BS and not a huge issue. I bought the Air 2S this week and used it for the first time in Costa Rica. I was about .5 miles over the ocean and the app disconnected. Usually it connects right back but it didn’t. I started to panic and held the RTH button. Screen still didn’t refresh. Panicked more. 3 minutes went by and suddenly a stranger behind me where I took off was shouting. It was landing as I was about to cry. Very scary. And very not good! Have you fixed this issue?
I wish you would do such an honest review of the autel evo pro II. I'm standing in front of a buying decision and your review helped me NOT to buy the mavic air 2 because I wanted to the exact same job you did.
RSB Key wow, didn’t know they came out with the Air 3! You must be special! LOL
I've had the same problem with the gimbal in sport mode. Flops down randomly, ruining the shot. As for your screen blanking out and restarting. Back in the fall, my Mavic Pro started doing the same exact thing. Turns out that the cable from the controller to my tablet was loose. If I jostled the cable in any way, I'd lose connection, app would restart, and the drone would return to home. I stopped using the tablet (usb mini connector), switched to using my phone (usb c connector) and hasn't happened since. The battery life, out of the box is pretty diappointing. However, now that the batteries have been recharged about 10 times, I'm getting about 29-30 minutes.
I’m sorry you aren’t happy with the mavic air 2. It’s a great machine. It didn’t replace the mavis pro, it’s actually one step down from it as well as a few hundred dollars cheaper but you seem to expect the same performance
The editing issue sounds like more an issue in your end than on DJI’s end
The 17 min RTH. flying in sport mode is sucking the life out of it faster but you expect 34 min of uninterrupted flight time? That’s not a realistic request
As for the multi battery charger bank. No DJI hub charges all the batteries at the same time
Lastly, you probably should have bought through Amazon. Their return policy is amazing. And this was recorded during the worst pandemic the world has seen in ages, half of every company out there is either shut down or working from home.... so you have to take that into account, even with amazon I don’t think this is a fair review, but thank you Free America, you are allowed your opinion!!!!
The DJI Spark charging hub will charge 3 batteries simultaneously.
I stand corrected. One model I DONT own 🙂
@@LXIXXX my mavic mini doesn't
Use the right tools for the job. That goes for the computer and editing software needed to handle the footage in h.265. this had been an issue from the original p4 pro which also does h.265.
Not a brutally honest a review, an excellent honest review. Thanks.
Given your experience with DJI and not being willing to purchase from them again, what would you recommend for a drone in the future? I’m not a drone guy, yet, but have been toying with the idea for my ADV riding here in NM and CO for some time now. I don’t want to make a bad purchase up front so if you have some recommendations I’ll happily research them. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
With all due respect, basically what I'm hearing is "I use this drone for things it wasn't really intended for, and it's not usable for me."
As the name suggests, Sport mode is essentially for drone racing and maximum speed... That's it. It's not designed to provide cinematic footage in that mode. If you ease into full speed in Sport mode, the gimbal doesn't flop like you mentioned, it's only if you mash the joystick to go full speed right away that it reacts that way (unless you just have a faulty model)
I know this video is a year old now, but damn that sucks you had so many issues with yours. I've owned my Air 2 for about the same amount of time and fly it all the time, and I've literally never experienced a single one of the issues you experienced.
Thank you. This has been very informative. Love it when potential buyers get fair warning. Bad enough it didn’t meet expectations, but coupled with bad service? No way. No sale.
thanks for the review the gimbal issue on sport sport mode has been resolved you can fly and keep the Horizon in the picture. Secondly if your battery says after 17 minutes return to home I would have just your settings from 30% return to maybe 20% it would be interesting to know how much time you get on your battery on your DJI Pro also sport mode eats up a lot of battery I've been using the chat mode in DJI seems to work really well for customer service they handle returns and other things very quickly they give you the numbers and so forth right there I don't know if you've noticed but the newest update also gives you a zoom which is fabulous
I've had my mavic air 2 for like 2 weeks and have had zero of the issues your talking about...its far superior than the mavic pro. I think you just got defective one maybe? Or you haven't corrected your settings. But your video is not accurate as far as my air 2 has been.
My new mavic air 2 is being delivered today . I’ll test it out and let y’all know if it really has issues . I’m super excited for sure. Bc I never anything bad about this one .
I haven't had any of these issues with my Mavic 2. I fly mine over my motorcycle, not to the extent and aggressive nature you do, but so far, so good. No issues! Really sounds like something is wrong with that drone, ODD! thanks for the review!
great review, thanks! what do you think about the mavic mini? is it also worse than advertised?
I’m starting to think this guy made a shitty work for a client and now he is blaming the Mavic air 2 😂
Lol
I have not experienced any of the issues you described with my MA2.
I get 30 mins + in normal mode have really pushed the battery in sport mode as I switch back and forth. There have been several app and firmware updates since you made this video.
If you still have it, have you updated and still have issues?
The only negative thing I have experienced is when flying in colder weather and high humidity, the camera lens fogged up and had gimbal stutter, but think it was caused by the colder temps. I have had a very intermittent “battery not inserted correctly “ message, but reseating corrected.
Sounds to me like the h.265 issues is with your outdated computer, not the Air 2.
Also his lack of understanding that he can change that codec in the app settings.
If the battery flight time is 34 minutes, then the RTH should be at 17 minutes (17 minutes out, 17 minutes on the way back). Did I miss something?
this video comes at such a right time for me. im really thinking of getting one
This guy is a joke. This is a great drone go watch any other review
Yeah I’m sorry this guys review is super poor, I’ve been flying my air 2 now for a few weeks never had issues at all, the new format of the videos, any base line apple computer runs it so this guy makes it seem like you need a super computer to do it. Amazing drone with 8k time lapse too. A no brained to go to over the old mavic pro which I’ve used for years!
Ya. I really like this drone. I've had it for a week. It may not work for everyone but so far so good.
I have this drone and its freaking awesome. It handles awesome. It has lots of functions built in. The video is outstanding. The 4k is clean and crisp. In sport mode it's a beast. I want another one. I also have the mavic 2 zoom, each drone has its capability. I use them both in films.
Ok guys. What about the problem when shooting in sport mode. The picture suddenly jump to another position. If this problem is really there.. than the man gets really issue bcs he is always making video in sport mode.
Hi Tyler, any follow up on this issue? i have mavic pro. loving it but thinking to switch to the Air 2. I Enjoyed your video and I think beside the battery other issues all are fixable. Also, looking at other people comments you might have a faulty one. Did they fix it? is it working better or did you just return it? I am wondering if I should wait a bit. I also had issues with the pro when it came out but it got fixed with time so I would not worry too much.
Here is some simple math lessons for you - when the "return" to home notice comes up at 17 minutes, your 34 minute flight time is up, its not 17 minutes flight time its 2 x 17 minutes = 34 minutes flight time OK !. Yu cannot just fly one way 34 minutes and expect the unit to return without power. So yeah, more like 34 minutes and not 17 minutes AS YOU SAID ! Get your facts straight.
If he’s flying in one direction like that doing high production value videos, then why doesn’t he have someone waiting to retrieve the drone fro him? Or just ask one of the people he’s filming to return the dead drone? It seems like most of his video is just looking for poorly informed excuses to trash DJI.
Very well said sir👌👌👌
@@Bigweave74 he should upgrade to DJI fpv it suits him better in my opinion
Wanting a watermark for RTH and high winds, etc? the App Already Shows warnings for High winds, and also the Battery status bar shows 3 dots on it as the indicator line depletes (like a Microsoft Progress bar that often can't be trusted!) - But that aside it is defined per this:
The First Dot on the left (in the Red) - is where the Drone will Automatically Land due to Low Power.
The 2nd Dot (Yellow) - Low Battery indicator
The Yellow section is the area needed for return to home.
The Yellow Dot with the H is the RTH indicator - this is the point at which it will commence an RTH, in the knowledge it has enough power to get BACK to it's Home point only.
These dots will change their relative position based on factures that the RPA determines it needs in order to commence an auto land or RTH.
The range is much more in air 2 than the Mavic pro I own both drones I don't know maybe you should change your Air and phone too
great video love how your telling the truth 👍👍👍👍
what would you buy as I'm looking at getting a drone
thanks in advance
You better say “DJI Mavic Air BRUTALLY IGNORANT Reveiw” 😂 as others have commented regarding sport mode and flight time, H26, charging and so many more. The only thing you were right about was the gimbal issue when flying in sport mode. Mavic Pro 1 had that in the beginning but was later fixed with a firmware update. This will be fixed as well on MA2.
Sigurdur Helgason um yeah still happens, rarely and gives me heart attack. You can’t tell if your mavic is flying and the gimbal is spazzing or if your falling to the ground at 30 mph
I fly the Mavic 2 Pro which is the drone most folks were comparing it to when the Air 2 first came out. Just after checking out what the Air 2 will do, their comparison was more like stacking up a bb gun against an AK 47.
ive experienced that issue with the gimble flopping down in sport mode - really hoping that gets resolved!!!
interesting eh ?.. i purchased one maybe I should try canceling before I get it shipped ?
Yeah that was a real bummer for me too. I was like WTF is this...
Thanks for the review, ER. I was thinking of a Mavic Air 2, but the drop-outs in communication and the gimble drop are a concern. I would be doing exactly the same as you - that is filming enduro/dirt. You mentioned that you might be looking elsewhere in the future. Being new to drones, is there a product you would consider?
Hi Tyler. Bummer the Mavic is letting you down. Good to see that cheek pinchy face in front of the chan chan cam once again. Haha.
After your video, a Mavic air 2 ad played, lol!
Hey, it’s showing you return to home at only 17 minutes is because you’re riding motorcycle and you’re constantly moving away from where it initially took off. It’s calculating how long and how much battery it would take for the drone to go back to the original home point. Keep updating the home point if you’re close to the drone and moving away from the initial home point. That will probably give you about 27 minutes flight time. Hope that makes sense.
Dude loves to complain, doesn’t like carrying water.
He doesn't complain, he is putting forward his true experience with his drone. Geez.
How much battery life did/does your Mavic Pro (1) get in sports mode? For the Pro Platinum they advertise 30 Min. without wind (in normal mode).
The blank screen seems like a problem with your phone.
With my Air 1 I have the same sports mode gimbal problem.
The customer service was pretty good for me: My 2 months old Mavic Air just "landed" in the water after the battery jumped from 50+ to 0. They send me a new one without any hassle. Also were very quick to respond with other questions I had.
I'm really confused by your Video. First of all, nobody at DJI said battery life will be 30min in sport mode! You could have read this well before ordering. Next thing is you wondering about the size...the next fact you could easily get prior to ordering the Air 2. Battery loading one after another is nothing new, i cannot understand this artificial shitstorm. For a guy like you, making money with drones i'm really wondering why you are looking for a new drone in the under 1000$ range...and than comparing it with drones way above 1000$?! Whats the point?! The MA Air2 is affordable and is not designed for professionals...what you are since u are making money with it. The last thing that is really confusing is your problem with HEVC...this codec isn't new and can be edited very well with a proper processor...keyword Intel quicksync. You want more frames you want more resolution you want more bitrate but you want to stick on old codecs that cannot provide it?! WTF!? All the things that you mention in your Video are totally ridiculous! You make money with it so try to get your pc working rather than starting a shitstorm! Gopro7, Gopro8 and Mavic 2 ...they all use this codec as well. And who cares about your clients and if the HEVC codecs play choppy on their PC or not. It's pretty normal to go with the time when it comes to tech! Sorry, but this is by far the most stupid review that i've have ever watched on youtube and i watched lots of them! Every clown could make a better one. You have mentioned other reviewers and that they got paid in your eyes...i would probably think that you got paid to talk so much trash here!
You can set the battery % rth in the settings, maybe set it to 10%. Interested about the Air 2s because I have had my Mavic Pro for a long time and looking for an upgrade
there is a setting to stop the gimbal from floping in sport mode
LOL that flopping was pretty funny. This guy made it seem like that was normal.
I was upgraded from Air 1 to the Air 2. It’s a HUGEEEEEEEE upgrade! Better camera, latger battery, longer range, quitter flying, faster, bigger, stronger! Now this is call “Upgrade” !
I agree with all your points aside from your h265 issues. That's a problem with your choice of editing software or machine, not the camera.
Absolutely. You can't blame the camera lens for the codec you use for editing. That seems like a disconnect.
return to home depends on the battery life left YOU set for returning. If you set it to 99% it warns you in 1 minute :D
Default is 50% so if you get a warning at 17 mins your drone can fly around 34 mins just like DJI claims.
I can't say enough good things about the mavic mini. It's really incredible! Sure it's lite but holds its own in windy conditions amazingly for something that's only 249 grams. Maybe he feels better after bitching about his problems...
Dude he reviewed the air 2 not the mini. I love the mini too but the wifi comm is not so great even far from urban areas
I look through the comments and see some agree with this post, and some say the Air 2 gives them no problems. The thing that I don't understand is how the expectation is ever that a drone that cost $799 becomes worthless because a drone that cost $1299 does some things better. How does one expect that a drone that costs $500 dollars less, is going to out perform in every category the more expensive drone. My guess is, if you have such high expectations you might just want to wait for the Mavic pro 3.
Many photographers or film makers that use drones never need to use a drone in sport mode, so their experience is different. So maybe their review is based on that perspective, rather than being payed off in some sort of way. I believe the reviewer, and I don't think the Mavic air 2 is the right fit for him. I just think his circumstance and drone needs are unique, and doesn't fit everyone.
Did this guy really expect the cheaper option to be better than the more expensive one?
The mavic pro has been out for 4 years! You would think 4 years would make a difference. Nope
I understand your point but I'm not sure it makes sense to downplay the product because it uses an advanced h.265 codec that your other equipment can't handle. Why not attribute that to the equipment that can't handle it? Also, you do have the option of converting it to h.264 or something else if needed for lower end equipment.
"I'm not a drone professional, I'm not a drone expert". Hmm.
It's pretty obvious that he isn't.
@@pupdaddymail Then he should not be making subjective reviews claiming they are objective. Find a dictionary geez.
Captain Drone said make sure you set your gimbal mode to shoot above horizon.
Get a better computer or possibly graphics card or both for 4K 60 editing or try Shotcut for editing. That's why you bought the thing right?
Mountains and hills block signal maybe that's why the screen goes ded.
Try normal mode to save battery, anything above 80 degrees will probably reduce battery life too.
Most customer service people are working from home now.
Have fun!
Well if it goes return to home at 17 minutes doesn’t it really depend on how far you are? Because if you’re 17 minutes out wouldn’t total flight time be 34 minutes?
Hi Tyler,
I hear everything you say. Love your footage. Is it really shot on the original Mavic Pro? I have one as well as an Inspire 2. I rarely use the Mavic Pro, because the image is so bad. Would love to use it again when trekking if I can get your image quality. What setting do you use please!!????
